    The Cocktail Bar

This restaurant has a sleek, upscale interior, highlighted by two opulent bars--one dedicated to cocktails and the other to sushi. We opted for a table for lunch, which felt relaxed but still refined. Service started with a small hiccup. When the waitress asked "sparkling or still," I said "still," assuming tap water--but instead, she returned with a bottle of Italian mineral water and poured without confirming. It was refreshing, but at $11, not exactly a pleasant surprise. The food: * The bluefin tuna and King Fuji salmon sashimi were impeccably presented and of the highest quality. Compliments to the sushi chef. * The tendon tempura (with nobashi ebi, vegetables, onsen tamago, and nori) was exceptional and nicely varied in texture. * I ordered the unagi don--eel over rice with pickles and shiso. The eel itself was flavorful and top-notch. We both agreed, however, the rice was a bit drier than what you'd typically expect from a good donburi, which took away from the dish's overall appeal. Lunch for two came to $155. Overall, a polished, high-quality experience in an elegant setting--definitely on the pricey side, but the ingredients and execution mostly justify it. I'd return, though next time I'll be sure to specify "still tap water."

Mishik is an incredibly good Japanese restaurant in Tribeca area. We walked in on a Saturday night with a decent size group, and then hostess was extremely accommodating. They sat all 6 of us at the bar, and served full dinner there. She also cleared some area to the side for our winter coats. Overall, such warm and accommodating service. The place is cool, with both bar seating and tables. We ordered the edamame, chips and dip, sushi rolls, and amazing cocktails. They even had vegan sushi rolls which were just as delicious! I really liked the chips and dip, tofu sushi, and the udon soup. Overall, would love to go back. Great spot with amazing service

Recommend : Zenchi & Hiru Rolls & Unagi Don Time : 2:00 Price range: $6-30 per food item 6 min walk from Soho54 We walked from Starbucks and found this gem . Modern aesthetics and clean restaurant. My guest and I were immediately greeted and we decided to sit at the bar. A beautiful bartender served our drinks of Aqua Panna, an Old Fashion , and a glass of Pinot Noir. The food was tasty and came within 15 min of our ordering. The fried rice has bits of fried chicken ...maybe chicken thigh ? Idk but it was crispy. The Zenchi and Hiru rolls were delicious and aesthetically pleasing.

Had this the other day for a quick bite. Ordered chicken fried rice. It was really tasty and filling. I love the decor: exposed pipes factory aesthetic. The service was prompt. I would definitely come back!

One word: Yum. Was craving fried rice, was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. They have a pretty decent happy hour menu and the food is super fresh. Really impressed by the decor! This is more of a slow-paced restaurant - so give yourself time to enjoy yourself.

My friend and I wanted to find a Japanese restaurant near her work place and decided on Mishik. We sat down and finished eating within 45 minutes, which is great for a workday lunch. The ambiance is nice, on the upscale side, with lots of open space. It didn't feel too crowded between tables. CHIRASHI - 35 The order came with complimentary salad and soup. The dressing on the salad was too much and overwhelming, so I was unable to finish it. The miso soup was fine with lots of fried tofu bits. The chirashi bowl was sizable, but contained a lot of aesthetic veggie fluff that took up 1/3 of the bowl, rip. Besides that, I enjoyed the tuna and eel, but other fish cuts were just OK. Surprisingly, there wasn't salmon in here. Overall, 3.5/5. Food was fine, but not memorable. Unsure if I would be back in the future, though.

The truffles sushi rolls is TO DIE FOR. Literally we talked about what our last meal would be and I think it would be THAT sushi roll. The food is high quality and the cocktails are just as good. Shook by how well done the cocktails were. The salads were nice and light. The service was attentive and efficient. The ambiance was elevated but still casual enough for a work lunch.

Overall: A // 5 stars Chic and upscale spot on the edge of SoHo with high quality and subtly innovative Japanese fare. Friendly and knowledgable staff that fits in their equally comforting ambience. Great new spot! (Chirashi Teishoku: A+) - The chirashi is immaculate, with fresh fresh fish sourced from global destinations, very precise cutting of the fish to highlight the beautiful marbling, and expert seasoning to the point where I didn't need to use any soy sauce. This gorgeous bowl is a treat to have for lunch! A salad and soup also comes with the set, which offer a slightly elevated take, with parmasean crisps that come with the salad for that extra saline and crisp, and some seaweed in the texture of noodles for the soup to have more substance. We stop by to have a light drink and snacks at the bar before our dinner. The bartender is very friendly and her drinks are amazing. We love the Seiko so much. It's perfectly paired with the appetizers there. They have a beautiful sushi bar and table seatings. If anyone interested in sushi maybe can give it a try.

A great modern Japanese restaurant. My fiancee and I came here for dinner on a Thursday evening, which was surprisingly not too busy with only a few people sitting at the bar. Very modern interior with a showcase omakase chef's counter. Our waiter was professional and attentive. For drinks, I tried the Blossom ($20), which is a mezcal drink with Sakura Syrup, lemon, and vanilla. Pretty tasty with the strong mezcal flavor. What may not seem like the appetizer, we ordered the Sushi Toku ($65), which is a chef's Selection of 8 Nigiri and 6 makimono pieces. They were arranged from lean to fatty on the plate. We also ordered the Toro Taku ($15), which are toro and pickled daikon in a maki roll. Overall these were alright. For the entrees, we ordered the Wagyu Kimchi Fried Rice ($29), which was freakin delicious because of the A5 wagyu. I think the waiter mentioned that this was their top selling item. We also ordered the Soondubu Jjigae ($22), which contained chicken bone broth, chili, vegetable medley, silken tofu, and banchan. This was pretty good, besides all the oil sitting on top of the broth.

Came to try their Teishoku lunch set for $35, which comes with soup + salad. Their soup had a nice umami/mushroom flavor and the salad had these yummy parm crisps! We got the Roasted Chilean Seabass and Japanese Hamburg for our entrees. I really loved the Seabass! It was moist and the yuzu miso sauce paired perfectly. The Japanese Hamburg also paired nicely with the potato salad, which had the most refreshing Ikura that popped in your mouth! Their Teishoku portion is just enough for each person, with room to order an app or two to share. For apps, their Rock Shrimp Tempura is a MUST! It's a dish of bite-sized shrimps and each one is fried to perfection! Their Gyoza also had a beautiful, crispy skirt. We closed the meal out with their refreshing and delicious mocktails. Comfortable and nice interior with attentive staff. Quick walk from the A/C/E/1 trains at Canal St and near a good amount of corporate offices, for the perfect lunch or happy hour spot!

I stopped by for a wonderful modern Japanese fusion meal and stumbled upon their affordable teishoku lunch deal for $35, which comes with a soup and salad. Just the salad alone was one of the freshest and tastiest ones I've had. The interior is beautiful inside and they offer omakase as well, but we opted in for their kitchen dishes. Mocktails were refreshing and fizzy. The Gyoza filling had great umami flavor. The shrimp was fried lightly and sauced well. On to the lunch entrees, the seabass was so succulent and soft. The hamburg meat was juicy and cooked to a perfect temp. Last, but not least, the ice cream was rich and had that earthy taste that hojicha is known for. And the cheesecake was smooth and citrusy; perfection. Also really loved the service here. 10/10 all around!

Nice looking restaurant, but realistic rating is a 3.5. The pricing is pretty high for most items but the desserts are surprisingly affordable at $5 for a dessert. My husband ordered the jjigae and I had the chirashi bowl. The jjigae was $22 without seafood, but we added a supplement of $10 for the seafood. The jjigae without the seafood would have been a complete joke of a dish. The soup was watery and no rice came with it, so it you didn't have the additional seafood it would have just been a few pieces of vegetables and tofu. It was not a particularly good dish either, so at $32 it was too pricey for what it was. I ordered the chirashi and while it was nicely presented and tasted good, it was very small. I somehow left full anyway but I don't typically eat much. We ended the night with hojicha ice cram and a wafer. The waitress didn't bring any utensils for us to eat this, I thought it was odd but she overall was very nice. When I went to use the restroom, one of them didn't close so I had to go to another one. We paid the bill via inKind in time for me to use the expiring funds. This was worth it because glee didn't end up thing much

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

I think it helps to go in with a few ideas, but if you give them some creative freedom, they can really surprise you. I honestly cannot remember all the ingredients in my drinks, but I do remember loving every sip. Such a unique spot and a fun experience. Definitely small inside so you may have to wait awhile. I only wish I lived closer!

I didn't know what to expect but I loved the Broadway show and I'm always down for immersive events. So I arrived at the Press Room and saw that there was a bar with a couple of tables surrounding it. It seems to be where the kitchen is for all the wonderful food that Alamo provides during the in-dining movie experience. I had to approach the bartender to find out where exactly this party was and he instructed me to look beyond the large curtain to the side just as if I were searching for the Wizard of Oz. As I tugged myself behind the curtain, I walked into a decent-sized room and with balloons and the words, "Welcome to Emerald City" in the front of the room with a DJ playing today's hits and of course, songs from the Wizard Broadway show. At first, I thought this was going to be a dance party but soon realized that it was going to be a craft party instead. There was a station for making your own broom, one to make a friendship bracelet, and another one for letter writing along with sealed wax to use on the envelope with different stamps. I sipped away an Old-Fashioned in my souvenir Wicked cup while singing along to the Wicked soundtrack and making a friendship bracelet for my daughter. This experience was relaxing and joyful so now I know my type of party consists of a craft night. Close to the end of the night, I participated in a Wicked costume contest. I lost but nevertheless, I had a good time. Ended the night with an order of burger before heading home to show off my creations. I can't wait to check out their other events and come here again!

Nice selection of alcohol, friendly bartenders and attentive service. Since it was tucked away it wasn't as crowded and I was able to spend an hour catching up with my friend and it wasn't overly crowded or loud.

Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. I could tell you to look for the blue beaker sign that says "Chemist" but the better tell is the random guy sitting on a stool outside. He'll be the only person on the street, so no worries about missing him! The menu has changed over the years, but the quality has not. The bartenders are social and personable. And the prices are in line for the area. My bestie and I loved the vibe. One of the best speakeasies she's had the pleasure of experiencing. Don't miss out on this place!
