Some friends wanted to meet here for dinner, so we agreed. We arrived early, and since our son was starving, we decided to order drinks and appetizers to share until our friends were able to get there. There are no fountain drinks, only 20 oz. bottles. We thought this was strange, but paid no mind until my husband's bottle seemed to have already been opened before receiving it. Our waitress switched it out without compalint. Our son ordered fried oysters, and I the tofu spring rolls. They were brought out quickly, but as soon as I picked up a spring roll to put it on a plate, I noticed a dead bug (appeared to be a small roach) stuck to the serving plate under the rolls. Our server was still standing at our table talking to us, so I pointed it out to her and she apologized and removed the plate from the table and brought the dish back to the kitchen. Our son tried his oysters and said they tasted bad, so his father tried them and agreed they were most likely spoiled. The waitress returned to let us know we wouldn't be charged, and we left. Luckily our friends hadn't arrived by this time...so we just met up somewhere else. After we left, my husband mentioned that he had seen the same type of bugs in the men's restroom...I hope they get this issue resolved, but we will not be back. read more

Great food!! Nice atmosphere! We are in town from Houston, TX having some warranty work done on our RV. We were staying in Middlebury, IN and the locals suggested Miso for hibachi and sushi! We have been twice this weekend. It is fantastic! The first time my husband and I both had the filet and shrimp hibachi. We went back tonight and he had the same because he liked it so much. I decided on the samurai roll and onion soup. Raven was our waitress and she recommend the samurai roll the other night, so we decided to go back and give it a try! Absolutely fantastic. I have not been is Goshen in 10 years. I was surprised to fine this little restaurant. The staff is amazing. I had sushi. I was surprised at how hood it was. It's not the best I ever had, but good. I also had the Kani Salad and Miso soup. I will be coming back this week to try the Hibachi. read more

You know....if you'd told me there was a high quality Japanese restaurant in Goshen Indiana...in what appears to be a former Pizza Hut...I'd have scoffed. But we visited, after spending part of the day walking the nearby Pumpkinvine trail. It was a hit for my wife and I right from the start. We were tired and hungry, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I had a hibachi dinner, because I was in the mood for a hot meal. The steak was prepared exactly as I requested, and it was a VERY healthy serving--and plenty of veggies also! My wife and a sushi dinner and just raved about it. The decor is---interesting...it IS a former pizza hut, after all, but they made it work. This is high on our list to return next time we're in Goshen! read more

The only negative is that it smelled like pizza hut when we first walked in (because they are using the old pizza hut building). The interior has been updated, and it is nice. The sushi was DELICIOUS and the menu has nice options. It was really nice and comforting to see the family together working, answering the phone, and eating. We will definitely return. read more

The ambience is an improvement from the old Pizza Hut. Tables and booths are spaced out nicely for privacy. Bathrooms are subpar. The food is similar quality to Wasabi in north Goshen. I got a shrimp spring roll, which was bland - the peanut sauce helped. I also got a spicy tuna roll and the Alaska roll. I would recommend the tuna roll. I also tried the mango sake which comes cold and bottled from Japan. It was refreshing and reminded me of Squirt. My waiter was excellent. In total I spent about $25. read more

I didn't expect much with a vaguely racist name like "Miso Japan" but the food was extremely questionable. It goes without saying that the food was beyond bland, but everything had a subtle flavor of soap. I'm not sure if they have an issue with washing but the soap flavor was undeniable, from the soup to the tempura. We had complaints all around the table (we ordered a special sushi roll, 1 chicken tempura bento box, 1 shrimp tempura bento box, and a hibachi chicken). The service was friendly though, and the place was cozy enough. The decor is lacking (except the hypnotic water-bubbler tank at the entrance) but you can't expect anything like that with prices like these. It was extremely affordable, and you get a lot for your money at the least. Suffice to say, I felt kind of sick afterward, and I don't think I'll be going back without some major changes. read more

I had the House Rice. It's advertised as Japanese Fried Rice with shrimp, chicken, and steak. It was a an amazing portion in regards to size. Brother had a Sushi entree and was satisfied. The service was great. The waitress made sure our glasses were full the whole time, and did well taking our orders correctly. Others with me finished their food quickly so I must assume they were thoroughly impressed. It's great to have a Japanese restaurant here in Goshen! read more

So we went to dinner at a seemingly ok time (530pm), we were sat promptly which was the only strong point of our trip here. Our waitress immediately got an attitude when asking for drinks. We shrugged that off thinking Maybe it was just because she had also just been our hostess. When it came time to order she got such an attitude when I asked with whose order she wanted to start I thought about walking out. We ordered an order of crab Rangoon, 2 kids meals, 2 sushi rolls(dragon roll & spicy girl), a bento box and shrimp fried rice. Soup and salad came out quickly for the rest of our party and food wasn't too far behind. The crab Rangoon was very greasy with little to no flavor. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box the chicken was flavorlessinus the thick teriyaki sauce they poured over the top. The spicy girl roll is a spicy tuna roll. All you should taste was the spice, there was absolutely NO flavor to the tuna. The waitress be very checked on us or refilled drinks. I left all my food there not taking any leftovers home and there was quite a bit. We will not be going back ever. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars for the region as the best in the area. The coasts' star scale just ranks differently to me when it comes to sushi, so although Chiyo in Baltimore is a 10 star sushi restaurant in my book, this 5 star location in Goshen says a lot. We were pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of this place. They did a nice job of taking the old Pizza Hut building and turning it into more of a cultural experience for the dining backdrop. The waitress was attentive and friendly and what appears to be a family owned business is run by one that strives to monitor its customers before, during and after the meal. The prices were inline for the quality of the food. We like to stick to more basic sushi rolls at a new place until we've tried the sushi to make sure it tastes good and is legitimate. We had fresh miso soup, which was nice and hot, not moderately warm like many places in the area have served it. The tempura appetizer was lightly fried with all typical veggies except cauliflower. It was very good. We tried 4 rolls: avocado, samurai, fire, and sexy girl. All of them were very good and now we want to try the nigiri next time we visit. We saw many dishes delivered to nearby tables that we also would like to try. They have bento boxes, tempuras, and all the traditional Japanese meals as well. We will definitely be returning to try more and are excited to finally have a good sushi restaurant to eat in the area. Great new option. read more

Love this restaurant! Gluten-friendly (mention it to your server, they almost always have gluten-free soy sauce.) The food is delicious and fresh, prices are good. The Japanese won-ton soup is my favorite. It is the best, but it does have quite a few mushrooms in it, so beware if you don't like mushrooms. The wontons in the soup are a little different from most places. Instead of normal wontons, they use ebi shumai, which are shrimp dumplings. Very delicious. The sushi is beautifully plated and very fresh. read more

This joint just kind of popped up. Since Kaizen closed, it was nice to see another Hibachi style restaurant open in the area. Miso features sushi and hibachi without the antics and discomfort of stranger danger at grilltop hibachi restaurants. The food is good and generous portion sizes served.
