    Miso bowls
    Carrie M.

Miso Pick&Mix (interesting name choice) is a fast casual Japanese/Korean restaurant with build-your-own miso bowls, Korean fried chicken, and a variety of appetizers. I got the miso bowl with half rice and half glass noodles, Korean popcorn chicken, tons of vegetables, and teriyaki sauce. My friend got the miso bowl with glass noodles and crab, which was, much to our disappointment, just unseasoned artificial crab. I thought the noodles were good, but they were coated in sauce too heavily. My friend wishes she had gotten the rice instead, and I would have preferred to only get rice to balance the flavours out because the vegetables were all coated in sauce too. The sauce was really salty, but there wasn't much flavour to it. I did still enjoy my meal. The chicken was really soft and didn't taste like popcorn chicken at all. The flavour tasted like Mandarin chicken that you can buy frozen. I would probably get the beef bulgogi next time. I liked the vegetables a lot. The portion was large, and I had a little left over, but $16.24 felt pricey for fast casual food. The restaurant has so many tables, but it was quite empty even during dinner time. I really hope it survives and thrives because it doesn't seem to be getting good business yet.

MiSO PICK & MIX 08-03-24 Me and my Family decided to try out the new place! Dining Room was comfortable and not too big. Everything was great! Service, employees, building was awesome! We started off with the Bulgogi Fries! They were so good! Hot crispy Fries, Bulgogi, Spicy Mayo! I will definitely be getting them again. Everyone loved them. We all had the custom Bowl. 3 with Glass Noodles and 1 with Rice. We chose Spicy Pork and Korean BBQ Chicken. You get to choose all your mix in items to create Your own custom dish. We also got the Cucumber Kimchi, Miso Pickled Veggies, And Miso Daikon Radishes. All the food was fresh and hot. We will be coming back to try different dishes! Great experience!

Absolutely amazing charismatic front counter girls that were super nice!!! The beef Bulgogi tasted delightfully amazing. The sautéed vegetables were flavorful and fresh. The fresh vegetables were cool and crisp bursting with flavor. The daikon kimchi was pretty good and tasted pretty fresh and had a fresh crisp crunch to them. The white rice is fluffy and absolutely perfect.

Absolutely mouthwatering deliciousness!!! It's fresh, colorful, and filling! I eat here at least every 2 weeks. Excellent proteins, kimchi is perfection, their wings..... , beers on tap, I could go on and on. You need this in your life. PERIOD!

Came here for the first time and I cannot wait to come back with alacrity!! This is exactly the type of place temple needs. There were was an abundance of factors going well for this new restaurant opened only three weeks ago. First off the quantity of food was astounding. It was fresh and filling. They gave ample amounts of serving and I could only finish half the my meal. The owner was coming around and greeting all the customers and she took the time to get to know us. She was kind and welcoming. For a new restaurant the ambiance was clean, unique and had an artistic flare inside. We highly look forward to coming back again!

I fell in love with this place right off the bat. The food was amazing and tasty. While the atmosphere and service was extremely welcoming. The owner or manager was also extremely friendly and sweet. Will be coming back for dinner and lunch.

There is ample seating available to dine in and it was clean. Ordering food is set up similar to Subway, Chipotle, etc. Staff is friendly and efficient but they seemed rushed and understaffed. Tofu and spicy pork are tasty. I wish there was a sesame sauce as an option. The fried shrimp was way over dressed with mayo-recommend ordering with sauce on the side. I love that they use environmentally friendly to-go containers.

Wow! I really don't know where to start with this review. We have been multiple times and it has not disappointed yet! The food is always fresh and delicious, it is always clean, plenty of seating space, the staff is attentive and friendly. The owner is there a lot and will greet customers and hold conversations. There are often off menu items available to try and it makes it so much fun. There are days my wife comes home craving this Miso. This place is a MUST try!!!

Boyfriends bowl; noodles, yum yum sauce, some kind of spicy chicken. And the egg roll in his hand; the filling is spicy.

Went for the first time around March 15. Not too impressed with the food. However, the decor and environment is fresh and open; since it's a newly opened restaurant. It's definitely unique and a nice change from chipotle/freebirds. (Being able to customize your ingredients). Definitely vegetarian friendly, and the bulgogi I got wasn't that great. I would say this place is decently priced, and the food is... meh. Customer service was mid, lots of stale face going on. Be careful with teriyaki sauce as well, I got it in my bowl and it became soup from how watery it is.

The food here was amazing! The portions were very large and I had leftovers for the next day. The restaurant itself was very clean and spacious. The service was top-notch as the workers behind the counter gave samples and explained how to build a custom bowl. The owner (I presume) stopped by our table to ensure our experience was a good one and chatted with us for a few minutes; very personable. I will definitely be returning for more!

Miso Pick & Mix just opened this week in Temple so I had to go try it out. My wife and I were immediately greeted as soon as we walked through the door. The young lady behind the counter was so polite and recognized us from another restaurant. When we told her it was our first time eating here she took the time to explain their food options. FYI the menu does not show tofu as a protein base for a miso bowl but it is an option. We both decided to get miso bowls and an order of fried shrimp. They have several drink options and I decided to get a beer. The food was delicious and you can tell it's fresh. The tofu was cooked to perfection but I wish I had added additional sauce on top of it. My Wife is vegan, and the bowl was vegan approved! Everything is made "lifestyle" friendly and the customer service was kind and respectful when answering questions she had. Overall, we will definitely be back again! Great atmosphere, clean, and several TVs that you can watch as well. I'm happy to see Temple/Belton is getting more healthier food options.

We can't stop coming back!! If you're familiar with Chi'lantro, it's a very similar concept. The ingredients are so fresh and the portions are worth the price. So happy we have options like this in Temple!

Half eaten chicken, rice, and veggie bowl. Yummy!

We visited on Halloween, and were greeted by the spooky decor, with cobwebs and skeletons adding an eerie feel to the restaurant. We were immediately greeted and seated, and were excited to dig in. Our food came to us quickly, and we quickly got to cooking our meats. Our server Daley did a great job with helping us integrate vegetables into our experience, advising us to use sesame oil and mushrooms to enhance the spicy pork bulgolgi. The food came out great, and the spice levels were done perfectly! Unfortunately, the heating component was not operational in the buffet, and we were notified that we could only have the fried food if we paid an extra charge. Understandable as the food wouldn't stay warm, I was just sad to not have any crab rangoons. Kpot always does a good job with service and ambiance, and there should never be a question regarding the freshness or seasoning quality of their food. Would definitely come again!

Even with some menu items i.e. the chicken tangsuyuk or soups have been weird at times and ive had to say im sorry i dont think I can eat it. They were kind enough to replace the soup with another soup but it makes me wonder why the consistency or flavor changes. The side dishes are the star of the meal for me. I love their sweet soy potatoes always hits the spot for me. Their kimchi is solid and their rotation of other side dishes is always a nice surprise. The lady makes her rounds from time to time and I believe the sound is there too they're both very down to earth and nice people. I will say two of my all time fav dishes are their galbitang and their dolsot bibimbap can't go wrong if I stick with either of those dishes. I was slightly confused the very first time I tried them in late 2024 and felt like I was walking into a sushi bar, but glad they make korean dishes. The service is pretty good, some of them are very polite and helpful sometimes it can get busy and it's hard to get the waiters attention. The feel is a sushi restaurant with the counter in front where they make rolls not too contemporary but not very old either. Go for the service and try some korean dishes a little more expensive than I would like as the dishes are not consistent and some of the dishes are definitely a fusion or a slight twist on the original flavor or tradition taste. I haven't tried the sushi so I can't speak on that but I have seen quite a few customers order it.

5 out of 5 Living in…read morethe Austin area, you don't expect to find a legit Korean pocha experience in Killeen, but K1 & Bobapop is exactly that--a solid bar food and drinks spot that knows what it is and does it well. We've driven past this place countless times on our way from Austin to Dallas, finally gave it a shot, and we're glad we did. ---- Pros: - Great Korean bar food (pocha-style) - Solid drink menu (soju, soju slushes, and beer) - K-pop music videos playing on the TVs sets the mood - Karaoke bar and Bobapop (boba/desserts) - Open late (until 2 AM Thu-Sat) - Ample parking - Call button at each table for service Side Notes: - Opens at 4 PM daily (Sun opens at noon, closes at 10 PM) - Can get busy on weekends - plan accordingly - Delivery available through DoorDash and Uber Eats What We Got: - Soy Garlic Wings - Galbi - Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes) - Kimchi Fries - Corn Cheese - Soju + Terra ---- Design/Space: K1 has that authentic Korean pub feel - neon signs, K-pop videos on the TVs, and a trendy but casual vibe that makes you feel like you're at a late-night spot in Seoul, not off the Central Texas Expressway. The space is on the smaller, more intimate side, so tables are close together, but that's standard for a pocha. It works for the vibe they're going for. The Bobapop section is a nice touch if you want boba or dessert after, and having karaoke next door gives you a reason to stay longer. It's well thought out as an all-in-one experience. Services/Staff: This is where K1 really impressed us. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. We were greeted right away, and our server walked us through the menu without making us feel rushed. The call button at the table is a nice touch - you press it when you need something, so you're not awkwardly flagging someone down (typical in LA, but not in Austin much). Drinks were refilled, and food came out at a good pace. Compared to some other Korean spots we've been to in the area, the energy here felt right for a pocha--friendly, casual, and lively without being over the top. Food/Drinks: I want to be clear - this is bar food, and that's exactly what it should be. K1 isn't trying to be a fine dining Korean restaurant, and that's what makes it work. It's a pocha. You come here for good fried chicken, some rice cakes, cold soju, and a good time. And on that front, they deliver. Opportunities to Enhance: A couple of small things. One, for how good this place is, more people need to know about it - their social media and online presence could use a push, because this spot deserves more foot traffic. Two, being Korean, would love to see more bar food bites from Korea, but might live octopus with sesame oil + salt might not be something the area is ready for, haha. Again, these are minor--the core of what they're doing is already solid. ---- Summary: K1 & Bobapop is exactly what Killeen needed - a legit Korean pocha experience with great bar food, solid drinks, and a fun atmosphere. It's a spot where you go to eat good fried chicken, drink soju, watch K-pop videos, maybe sing some karaoke, and have a great time. We'll absolutely be back, and if you're in the Killeen/Fort Cavazos area and haven't tried it yet, you're sleeping on one of the best spots in town. Keep doing what you're doing, K1.

Plus 1 tteokbokki to go. Total came out to $266 and some change. Service was alright. They didn't bring out the drinks and utensils before the food came out. And, for a large party you would expect more water than their one standard size be provided for the table. We had a small spill at the table and the servers didn't show much urgency to help us clean up, as we had to ask for napkins multiple times both for the table and the spill. Our party agreed in the end that we would probably prefer takeout from here in the future since we enjoyed the food, but not the service.
