I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. Came here when outdoor seating was available (COVID). They check your temperature before you go in. They wipe down everything. Tables are spaced out. It's outdoor in this great open space (none of that enclosed tent business) and the views are great! Food: Since it's outdoor, food gets cold faster, so make sure to eat up! Truffle fries - DELICIOUS. I love fries and this one is pretty up there. Stir Fried Pork Belly & Kimchi - Good, but the pork belly wasn't hot. It was warm, so it got cold quickly... Seafood Spicy Noodle Soup - DELICIOUS. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the flavors were great! You can ask for more soup for an extra $3. So worth it in this cold weather and with that soju. Stir Fried Beef Brisket and Mung Bean Sprouts - This was good too, but the meat to bean sprout ratio was wayyy off. There's A LOT of bean sprouts. I personally didn't mind it, but if you're a dude that wants meat, probably not a dish for you. All in all, good experience. Will come back again! read more

My boy Jason Jiwon Kim needs a raise deadass. This guy went above and beyond to ensure that me and my party had a 10/10 no cap positive experience. Bro was for sure with it. So valid. Very welcoming. So handsome. Big fan. He had our order taken instantly. Food was out record time. Lowkey maybe he should run in the Olympics cause bro was so fast I was amazed. Ngl i go here at least once a month. Might need to change it to 3 times a month. Ask for Jason, you'll have a Poggers experience. Kinda wild ngl. This dude is so valid I can't even cap. You know what them kids say. 12/30/22 SHOUTOUT TO DAVE the host tonight. Made my night Looking for some Korean comfort food then this hits the spot. The pork belly with kimchi was surprisingly delicious. I think I'm just going to order two of that next time. Also the clam soup=delicious with a kick. And sweet and spicy boneless chicken=also delicious. I like that it was quick but hot. This place is busy on the weekends so don't be rude to the workers who are doing their best--If you wanna eat, then you gotta wait. There's a lot of young people who eat here but aren't drinking so sometimes the tables open faster than you think. I've never felt more uncomfortable on a server than I did here. A member named Donnie repeatedly hit on me in ways that were completely inappropriate and unwanted. It wasn't playful or lighthearted -- it crossed personal boundaries and made me feel extremely uneasy. He kept trying to force me to take a shot with him I can't believe a place would let their own employees drink on the job. This is unacceptable! read more

Stoped by this place while on the way to LA from San Diego, and we're so glad we did! Overall, I had a great experience at Misoolkwan! Upon seating we're served with a special water that had an interesting taste (they'll give you regular water upon request). The music inside was great (and got louder later in the evening w/ dimmed lighting). The food was AMAZING. We got the rose tteokbokki and sweet spicy chicken. Tried this restaurant at the Source for the first time and we had a great time! Customer service was excellent, our server, Bryan, was very friendly and gave us recommendations on which chicken wings to order. The restaurant itself is nice and comfortable for a place to drink with friends. We ordered the blended rice wine, pork belly, cheese corn pancake and garlic wings. I would highly recommend this place to all of our friends and everyone looking for good Korean food with heavy portions! read more

This is an amazing place to enjoy great food and drinks with friends! I ordered the pork belly, seafood pancake, garlic chicken, and muscat makgeolli to share with two other friends. My family and I were really impressed with Misoolkwan! Our server, Jasmine was incredibly patient and took the time to go over each of her recommendations. Food was spectacular as well. A really cool spot - glad to see it's getting some traction in OC! A young vibe, great for groups wanting to eat Korean food and drink a lot. I really enjoyed the view, the music, fun vibe, chicken, etc Took a star off because the salmon was very very fishy, my boyfriend and I each had one piece each and couldn't finish it. I'm not very picky with my food, but it was shocking the difference between the chicken and the salmon! Hopefully just my experience. Would still recommend and I will return! read more

I have been here 5-6 times because of food and ambiance. I literally know that this is no tipping restaurant (but actually it is ). So i really need all servers to improve your customer service. Today since entering no greeting and til we left no any thank you as well. The facial expression, personalities, manner are really bad. The hispanic tall guy took order unwillingly and then he went to took a brake after finish his brake he grab a bread and glass of drink walking talking with his colleague barely patrol on floor. When we asked for check, he wait for card with leaning on the wall with improper and weird posture. No wonder, he didn't say ' thank you' when leaving. As well as the black hair asian server, he looks like he had a bad day all time. Therefore, i could say that my appetite drop down because of the service. Hope the owner improve this issue. read more

Honest to God, Zab is the . She was very attentive and brought a good vibe especially as our group was celebrating me. If possible, ask for her as your server. She made the experience fun and welcomed us in. Super nice and good energy. Overall, service was attentive and provided good recommendations. When it comes to food, you can't go wrong with the pork belly and kimchi. Flavor is amazing and pairs well with both soju and beer. Highly recommend getting that. I've came here twice now with 2 different groups of people, and both times, I was super happy with the food and the service. We got the stir fry pork belly (the kimchi included is SOOO good), mimsoolkwan tteokbokki, ad oden udon tang. Be prepared to bring large group of people because everything here has massive, shareable portions, and is perfect for a night's out with friends. The decoration is gorgeous and I kinda wish all restaurants would go above-and-beyond to decorate like this one, because from the look of it, Misoolkwan stands out the most in the plaza. If you're coming here on a friday night or weekend, be prepared to wait for a long while because it is popular and the waitlist is pretty long most of the time. My husband and I enjoyed this restaurant very much. It's a great spot for large groups. Portion sizes are massive! And as much as we wanted to eat everything, we had brought the leftovers home and ate it for lunch the next day lol. Everything looks so good so we had the fried chicken, flavor is good, meat was tender.. I'm dreaming of it as I write this review. Pork belly with kimchi and peppers..over some hot rice sounds so good right now. Nakasuji style seafood soup perfect for late night, soup is amazing flavor.. I just have to drive 4 hrs to get there. It was our first time in this area and my friends and I were craving Korean food so we stopped by and I'm so glad we did. The old time feels of the outside is what drew us in and the aesthetics continued inside which added to the ambiance. We came in at a pretty good time and got seated by the hostess very quickly for a party of 5. We definitely wanted to try a lot of the items and narrowed it down to: - Stir fried pork belly and kimchi and this place definitely didn't disappoint. There was something about the kimchi that brought it to life and I think it was because it didn't have the slight bitterness taste you get with others. The pork belly was oh-so-tender and flavorful! - Fried chicken, as with all KFC, it was on point, nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. - Cheesy corn pancake, which is definitely a different take on the cheesy corn was very crispy yet gooey as my friends can attest too as I can't have diary. - Spicy cold soup with raw beef, definitely a more adventurous dish which was very tasty one we found out it should be mixed before consuming. - Fried intestines, I'm not a fan of this but definitely don't get the taste of so much intestines as it's fried and had a good texture compared to others I've tried. So I discovered makgeolli after watching Vincenzo, yes Kdrama fan here, so we topped off the food with that We got the peach iced blended makgeolli, made by my man Darrell, which I never knew could be made into an ice blended and it was awesome, definitely order again! read more

Dang, this seemed like one of the more popular places at the Source. They have this cool themed indoor seating and then the outdoor seating which I'm not even sure how that works. We were seated after around 15 minutes of waiting on a Saturday night around 7:30 PM. For a party of 5. We got the strawberry soju which I felt like, didn't have a ton of alcohol but a lot of water. We tried the pork belly, spicy intestines, corn pizza, and fried intestines. Not gunna lie - the place was pretty expensive. Everything was around 20$ or more and they charge a $1 for rice. I would order the spicy intestines again but that is about it. I liked the flavor, the tenderness of the meat, and the serving size. It did take longer for this dish to come out but it could've been forgotten when I went. I really liked the ambiance and the services but nothing about the food stood out to me and the prices were kinda hard to swallow. The KBBQ next door? That might be the next move. Also I might've ordered the wrong thing. Not sure if I can afford going back though. read more

We were there last Tuesday around 6:30p. Not busy. Only 1 table was there and you'd think you'd get the best service but you thought wrong. Walked in and this server didn't even bother to greet and let us know we could sit anywhere. He let us stood there at the entrance for quite some time then let us know. He wasn't even doing anything at the moment. While observing the space we found that this guy had no motivation to work. There was no urgency to seat people who were waiting at the front (there were several parties). No urgency to bring water to the tables. Tossed utensils and napkins to our table. He could've been doing something productive other than just watching the YouTube vdo he put on the big screen. Not attentive. I wish we had a better service. Food was great. Pork belly was our favorite. read more

Service is TERRIBLE. There is no tip so that's probably why the workers dont respond to you and give you one word answers. Raised my hand and they straight ignored- acted like they didnt see. Clearly, the table next to us felt the same way because they made a "what the" expression as soon as they were ignored. They do apply a mandatory 10% to each check- it says it goes towards tax.. but I dont think this is the case. It doesnt really make sense. Anyways, they should really re train everybody except the girl at the bar. She was actually quick to respond to requests. read more

Wonderful experience at Misoolkwan! We came here during opening time on a Tuesday afternoon and Jason and Chris were helping us. There was no wait and we were tended to very quickly. We ordered the Pork Belly which was so delicious and flavorful! It was a great portion for two to share, and we left feeling full and satisfied. Don't have many photos of the food bc we were too excited to try the food and drinks at this spot! Tasty Cheesy Popping Corn Pancake: Wow, the portion of this thing was huuuge! It was like a medium sized pizza but with cheese corn! I loved that it was still crispy even with all that cheese. Delicious! Stir Fried Pork Belly and Kimchi: Can't go wrong with Stir Fried Pork Belly, it was marinated well! Even the kimchi that went with it was so good we asked where it was from, haha Spicy Cold Soup with Raw Beef and Noodles: We were feeling adventurous and wanted to try this. Refreshing once you mixed it with noodles. Fried Chicken: Flavorful and crispy! Fried Intestines: Not a fan of intestines, but these were delicious that you wouldn't even know it was intestines. This review is for Misoolkwan- they should really separate the reviews to these two establishments. They have different menus and operating hours although they are connected (bathrooms are the same between the two). The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of The Source near the movie theater. Came to eat here after the IU concert on a Friday night. Probably didn't get there until 11 and we were lucky to have been able to walk right in. There were other parties that arrived after us that had to wait. It was one of the only things open at that hour where we could eat a good meal (open until 2 am). Been here before so knew they were open late and the food is so good. I also love the interior decor! Did not drink tonight but have had their Yogurt Soju and the Citrus Highball before - both very good! The music was pretty loud to go with the vibe of the place- probably not the best place for a quiet date. Felt like I was in a club lol. I personally did not mind the loud music but just a note for those that do. We ordered the Stir-Fried Beef Brisket and Bean Sprouts and the Garlic Chicken. - Beef brisket with bean sprouts is a must! It's spicy and so flavorful! I personally love the texture with the slightly undercooked bean spouts that give a little bit of a crunch in every bite. This is a must get dish for us every time we come and there is nothing left every time. - Garlic Chicken (boneless) were good but some pieces didn't have as much of the garlic jam than others. The rice cakes that are in the dish were the perfect texture tho! They were soft and tasty! I love boneless chicken! This was our first time getting this dish. Probably would get again but would place below the Stir-Fried Pork Belly. - Although we didn't this time because there were only 2 of us we have had the Stir-Fried Pork Belly & Kimchi and this dish is also a must! The pork belly is perfectly crispy and the kimchi is the best complement to the pork! - Another dish we didn't order this time but have had before: Tasty Cheesy Popping Corn is also very good! Dish comes out super hot but the consistency of the cheese is perfect almost the whole meal. And it is a lot of cheese! read more

This review is for the Misoolkwan--the KBBQ place and the pub are separate, with different operating hours and menus, though they're right next to each other. The atmosphere is lovely--just the way it's designed to look like a traditional pub made me want to go inside every single time I walked by! It was nice to finally check it out with my friend. I don't drink but she ordered a highball and said it was great. At the time we arrived, they had just opened and it was early in the evening (~5pm) so the atmosphere inside was quiet and relaxing, but by the time we left, a huge party had arrived, the place was full, and there was a queue outside. That was around 7pm or so, so I would be mindful of the time you come if you're not prepared to wait (or you're starving). The reviews of the food here seem mixed and I guess I would say I feel similarly overall--it wasn't bad but it wasn't particularly good either, nothing worth mentioning or raving about. To be fair, the only thing we ordered that was actually from their menu was the jeon, the Seafood and Green Onion Pancake (in case anyone is wondering, the "seafood" includes squid and shrimp). I'm guessing it's new because I haven't seen any other reviews mention it, but they also had this option to order fried chicken from another establishment and then they would pick it up and bring it over to you. So we ordered boneless fried chicken but we actually didn't know it came from another restaurant and we were so confused when they brought us a takeout bag lmao. I forgot the name of the restaurant, unfortunately, and it's apparently new because it's not on Google Maps yet, but the chicken was good and comes with pickled radish (see my pictures). The jeon is HUGE and definitely more than enough for 2 or 3 people. Even though the food wasn't outstanding, there was nothing wrong with it either, and I'd probably come back to try other menu items :) Note that they don't accept tips here, which hopefully means the staff are being paid well! read more

We dined at Misoolkwan OC tonight with a group of five girlfriends and had a great time! The food was fantastic--highlights included the Kimchi and seafood pancake, fried intestine, pork with Kimchi, odeng-tang soup, puffed rice cakes, garlic fried chicken, and, of course, 6 bottles of Jinro It's Back and 2 Terra. Everything was delicious! What truly stood out was the service. Jaace, our server, was attentive, friendly, and took great care of us throughout the night. His service made the experience even better, and we'd love to come back just for him. However, there was one disappointment. We found out from the other servers and the manager on duty that the owners don't allow service bottles (complimentary soju), which was surprising. As a Korean, I find this a bit off. Soju is cheaper than water in Korea, and even when imported, it doesn't justify the strict inventory control they seem to have here. Most Korean restaurants in the area offer service bottles as a gesture of hospitality, and I feel Misoolkwan is missing an important opportunity to build a loyal customer base by not following this tradition. Every restaurant has its own policies, and I respect that, but it's also nice to feel appreciated as a customer. It's a small gesture that goes a long way. I hope the owners consider this in the future, as it would enhance the overall experience for their guests. read more

My fiancée and I had been wanting to try Misoolkwan for a long time, and we finally found the perfect occasion: a surprise birthday dinner for our friend. We arrived right when they opened at 5 p.m., which made it easy for our party of seven to get a table. The restaurant's ambiance is fantastic, with a retro old Korea feel and a fun mix of K-pop and One Piece anime playing. Although our table didn't have an order tablet, we were still able to easily flag down our waitress, who was incredibly attentive. She was so awesome that she even brought us a cup saucer full of the delicious garlic sauce from the chicken for us to enjoy on the side. The only minor issue was the air conditioning; it felt a bit weak during the first hour, so it was pretty warm for a little while. Now, for the main event: the food and drinks. The food was absolutely superb. Everything we ordered was a hit--from the garlic chicken to the kimchi pancake (김치전) and beef tartare (육회), to the corn cheese pancake. The dishes were incredibly flavorful and had generous portions for a great price. The flavored makgeolli (막걸리) drinks were simply fantastic. We tried the muscat, strawberry, and yogurt flavors, and I would highly recommend all of them. Despite the issue with the AC, Misoolkwan is a highly recommended restaurant to experience. I've had Misoolkwan Korean Pub bookmarked for a minute now and it did not disappoint. Came here to celebrate my little bro's birthday and everyone was so impressed by the food and awesome ambience. It's located at the Source shopping plaza on the 3rd floor, and parking was a breeze, which is always a win. The customer service was off the charts! The staff was friendly and attentive. They even auto-charge a 10% service fee, so no awkward tipping moments. Talk about convenience! Now, onto the grub! The Stir-fried Pork Belly & Kimchi was straight fire, my absolute fav. The Cheesy Popping Corn Pancake was bomb, heard it was popular with the kiddos. And the Soy Sauce Marinated Salmon? So. Damn. Good. We also had the Stir-fried Beef Brisket and Mung Bean Sprouts, Garlic Chicken, Honey Chicken, and a pitcher of ice-cold Asahi to wash it all down. Talk about a feast! The vibes at Misoolkwan were on point, cozy and chill. Do last call at 11 pm when the hours on door / Yelp said closing at 12am, last call 30mins before closing. Do owner know employee always stop greeting customers even before 1 - 1:30 hrs closing time. I said that because This suck happened to me 3 times already. NOT AT ONCE I just came yesterday 4/28 at 10:59 - 11pm exact on sec I have came this place when it was underrated. My first time here, they didn't have many customers and not full house. I recommend your restaurant to my friends and I had came very often then. I also give them tip even they dont require Food is good but service going down because of some specifics employees. I always check hours on Yelps / Google to avoid coming anywhere last minutes bc I understand we all need time to clean up and go home after long working days. But do not be ridiculous. When I got there yesterday , many tables have waited their food and one party still waiting friends. I notice girl turn around immediately once I standing front door 'cause she thought her friend come I never spend my time and energy to do review even some other places 's service are suck . Then last time is my last straw to you guys.. Please discuss to managers to get more staffs so you guys are not burn out then treat customers as they are stupid. read more

As a newcomer to the area, I recently tried MisoolKwan for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. This Korean pub offers a unique dining experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. The server, Bryan, was fantastic, offering helpful recommendations and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The menu was filled with delicious options, but as a first-time Korean food taster, I wasn't quite sure what to choose. Bryan suggested trying the pork belly kimchi and that I couldn't go wrong with Soju, a popular Korean spirit, and boy was he right! The Soju paired perfectly with the Korean dishes and added to the overall fun atmosphere of the pub and I got pretty drunk with my friends which added to the fun. The hype around this spot is well-deserved - this is some of the best Korean food I've had. The fried chicken was juicy, which is rare to find. The sauce was on the sweeter side but still flavorful, even better than what you'd get at places like BBQ Chicken or Bonchon. The soy sauce salmon stood out with the rich deep flavor of the marinade and the salmon was perfectly fatty. The kimchi was really good. It reminded me of the kimchi I had in Korea - balanced and a perfect pairing with the pork belly. The rose tteokbokki was good and met all my expectations, but not the best I've had or anything. I believe the menu that includes the hinoki steamed meat was around $39, while the lunch menu was around $29. I really wanted the hinoki steamed meat, so I went with the $39 option. I also heard that drinks are FREE throughout the month of August, so if you're reading this review, go check it out while you can! And one more thing--you HAVE to order the fried dumplings as an appetizer. They're so good!! Now, I do have one complaint... it was FREEZING inside.
