But the real surprise was the food. We ordered the Sweet and Spicy Chicken, and wow, it was absolutely delicious. The flavor was finger licking good, perfectly balanced between sweet and spicy, and cooked just right. Then there was the cabbage side dish with ketchup and mayo. Finally gave this place a try and the wait was insane! Honestly, this place is a little overhyped. The ice cold beers are cool yes, but the food is meh. It didn't really impress me especially with the long wait. The soy garlic chicken and spicy rice cakes (spicy!) were really good however! We walked in and were immediately confused. It was loud with KPOP blasting in the background. A server asked us for how many, and when we showed two fingers, he walked away. We assumed to follow him, but then he shook us head no and said to wait. After a few seconds, the manager came up to seat us after asking for how many. We were seated in the corner of the place and were explained on how to use the iPad and where our utensils were. The manager was a very kind man and he wore a white shirt, while the servers were in all black. We ordered their soy chicken platter and two ice, cold beers. The beers were the best beers ever! The temperature of the glass really made it smooth. It was delicious. Their chicken was okay; too saucy for my liking. It came with fries and a cabbage salad that had ketchup and mayo on top. I actually really like their side chips that are for snacking and drinking. It was crunchy and tasty. When we finished our time and were ready to go, we clicked the call button on the iPad and asked for the check. A girl gave us our check and left. When I called for her to ask where we pay, she didn't answer me. I had called for her multiple times. It got to a point that we just walked our check up to the front and the guy was laughing at her. The three stars is for very unclear directions on the role of the servers. We spent most of our time trying to figure out who to talk to and how to pay. From what I heard, Pro Tip: let it sit for 1-2 mins for the mug to defrost before you drink it so it could get a bit slushy. It was refreshing and delicious! Even if you chug it immediately, still very good regardless. They aren't able to share which beer they used, but it's on draft. I came here because I heard this famous Korean franchise finally opened in Buena Park. It's located on the first floor of The Source mall, so parking is easy and there's plenty of space. The restaurant itself is also large with lots of seating. The iced cold beer was especially good. The prices are reasonable, the food comes out quickly, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Overall, the food was very enjoyable. When we arrived it was about an hour wait, such a long line, but worth it. The interior is nice and spacious. They have a cute little pond and a photo booth that creates images with black and white ink like the olden times. They are known for their iced beers mixed with a shot of soju, or aka "Somaek". After a couple of them, trust me, you will start feeling it, lol. I feel like everyone in OC wanted to come here on a Friday night so the wait was very long, wish they had a text messaging service because throughout our 3 hour long wait we kept having to send out a person in our group to check on our place since you have to be right in front of the door when the worker calls out your name or they'll move you to the end of the line (which happened three times for us). We got so hungry we ended up eating food at Misoolkwan in the middle of the wait and came back here because we still wanted to try it out. As such, we didn't eat as much as we wanted to here, but everything we tried was pretty good. The beef sukiyaki was good and the fry sampler had some really good crispy fries. Wanted to try their ddukbokki or some of their soupy items but they were sold out (we did get seated around midnight though). Their signature icy cold beer is a must for beer lovers- super cold and foamy and a good portion for what you pay. We also tried the matcha makgeolli which tasted exactly like a matcha latte! Good selection of the classic soju bottles. Even though it feels a bit disorganized, I still really want to come back, maybe a little later because I understand they're still in their soft opening. I was looking at their menu and there's so much I would still love to try here, and everything seems to be a good price compared to other pochas in this area! Haven't seen anything looks so un appetizing. They are not using a clean oil. Even the frys are brown in color. And a good combination to have with our food that was on the spicier side. Spicy chicken with big noodles: 8/10 Did not honestly expect it to be spicy (as someone who enjoys spicy foods). This spot is located on the first floor on the source. It's in the corner facing Orangethorpe. Came on a Saturday night and the wait was looooong. There were tons of groups that were waiting. The waitlist system is rough since you just put your name down and they'll yell it out. Made it feel like you have to stay waiting for the entire hour or so to hear your name and if you miss it then sucks. Hopefully on the future, they'll have an online system where you can be notified through text. We finally got seated, but since we had a group of 7, they placed us at a smaller table and had to set 3 extra chairs on the side. It was a bit crowded and uncomfortable. They have utensils on the side of the table and self serve water they leave at the table. There's a kiosk you order your food and drinks from. The only time a server came to our table was to just drop off our drinks. They're known for their ice beer which is what has been getting blown up on social media. I had high expectations because it was a bit disappointing to taste a regular cold beer. Didn't taste super icy cold or anything. Their potato pancake was alright. Finally, Inssaeng Beer opened in Buena Park! I've been waiting for so long, and I'm so happy it's finally here. It was definitely worth the wait! The ice-cold draft beer is absolutely incredible--seriously one of the coldest and most refreshing beers I've ever had. It's amazing! The food is also very affordable and delicious. Everything we ordered was great. If you've never tried their signature draft beer, you're in for a whole new experience. The wait is usually around an hour, but honestly, it's so good that just getting a table feels worth it. I would gladly wait again. Already a line starting to form 15mins before they open on a Sunday night so go early, they also preface that it's only 21+ allowed inside so don't bring your kids Kinda really loud, or maybe we were closer to the speaker but they were bumpin kpop so it's fun. Kinda like a more chic put-together restaurant rather than a pocha but similar vibes with food and music Pretty good food, they have the really long thick tteokbokki which was my favorite and the soy garlic chicken was also yummy and tender. Spicy brisket soup was a bit salty and the cheese gratin had a slice of cheese on top that wouldn't melt and was kinda off-putting but not a big deal. We also tried the signature ice beer which tasted pretty standard coming from my friends who enjoy beer, but it was just really cold. I liked the strawberry makgeolli though, really sweet kinda dangerous Really nice service but I wouldn't really come back unless it was convenient or a different group of friends wanted to go hang out but I'll have to find an opportunity to come back to try the sukiyaki because that actually looks really good but good for sharing read more
