Food is great, service can be improved upon.... Came here last night for some late night munchies. Sat outside, which is a fun vibe. The complimentary Barley Tea is wonderful. We ordered the garlic chicken and seafood and green onion pancake. Pancake came out first. Seafood was a good texture, and flavor all around was great. Service then got funky. Our waiter apparently went on break, and there was at least a 10 minute difference from getting the pancake and getting him to come over. When he did come back, it was to say he was still on break, so he couldn't help us. We then went to the front and got the chicken 5 minutes later. Chicken was crispy and flavorful. So much garlic, and the rice cakes were perfect consistency. Service was meh, but everything else was great.

After going to the movies for Mother's Day, we decided to head over to The Source to see which restaurants weren't too busy and decided what to eat once we arrived. Surprisingly, the mall wasn't very crowded so we decided to try M Korean BBQ since it had been a while since we had Korean BBQ. It only took about 10 minutes to be seated and the salad, banchan, and tea were brought out very quickly. We also split a pitcher of Blue Moon since they didn't have any pitchers of Korean beer which was rather disappointing. Apparently you can only order K beer by the bottle. We went with the Signature Combo option which worked out well with more than enough BBQ to satisfy the 4 of us. The servers come to your table to not only bring you your food but also to cut the meat into individual portions and cook it for you. They did a wonderful job of switching out the grills so you never have to worry about getting the blackened residue on your meat. The kim chee was very fresh and well seasoned. The green salad was also excellent. The quality of the meat was extremely good for the price they charge. The restaurant also has a no tip policy but they do add a 10% service charge for cooking at the table which is quite reasonable. My first visit was very impressive and I look forward to returning again in the near future when I feel the need to partake of another KBBQ meal.

I was really looking forward to trying this Korean restaurant at The Source in Buena Park, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The customer service was terrible -- there was a noticeable tension from the moment we arrived, and when we asked for a few extra items, it came with attitude. It made the whole meal uncomfortable, and we didn't feel welcome or appreciated as customers at all. It's one thing to be busy, but it's another to make your guests feel unwelcome. On top of that, the prices were way too expensive for the experience we had. Considering the poor service, it just wasn't worth what we paid. We had high hopes, but honestly, this is not a place we'll be coming back to, and I can't recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. I truly hope management addresses the service issues because right now, it completely overshadows the food.

Alberto was a fantastic server. Very attentive for a group of 20+ today for lunch. Refills on food and sodas were quickly attended to. Great fresh food. Thank you!

7/10 Grilled Pork Belly & Kimchi - There wasn't much to rave about. It was just okay. Personally, I think the meat could've been a bit softer, but that's just my preference. Cost - $28.00 before tax and tip.

This restaurant is located at The Source and it is our first time here. This place is not All you can eat as we are used to. This place was recommended by my husband's staff member. Wow!! The Quality food is chef's kiss!! The meat is so tender and so flavorful. OH! Another thing is, we don't cook the meat ourselves, someone actually comes and cook the meat for you. You order your choice of meats or pork in Ala Carte through the computer pad at your table. Even though it's not All you can eat, our tummy were satisfied. I love how it looks so cool inside and they even have private glass rooms for little groups. The colors inside was just happening! I love their Raisin Tea(I thought it was water)!

Decently priced Korean bbq in at The Source. Went with the fam to grab some kbbq - was promptly seated. Ordered a combination for 4 people. Servers were friendly and cooked for us. Everything was cooked well and the meat quality was decent for the price. A plus of this place is there isn't tipping - which is refreshing. Would come back.

Excellent service and food. Portions were good, side dishes were tasty and plentiful, refills on everything came out quickly. Ordered the M Premium limited time menu item. Definitely worth it.

Hands down the best Korean BBQ I've had in LA so far. I dined here on a Saturday for lunch at the front by the glass doors along with a few other groups, but the restaurant is large enough to accommodate a dinner rush. The space is very modern with minimal decorations and features a patio with a fire pit. Everything we ate was delicious, from the meat grilled by your server, to the various side dishes and barley tea. The sheer number of dishes on the table was impressive and created a creative environment to enjoy something different with every bite. My favorite was pairing the tofu wrappers with kimchi, green onions, and the boneless short rib. Well trained servers rotated through all the tables, flipping and cutting our meat with scissors as necessary. I appreciated that the restaurant opted for a no tipping policy and instead charged a flat 10% fee, especially given the higher price of the meal, which brought me to $49 for a lavish and extremely filling meal that I thought was worth every penny. Note that this is located on the top floor of an open air mall with free parking available in an attached multi-tier deck.

We spent the weekend in Buena Park during the Knott's Boysenberry festival and decided to hit up M Korean BBQ. It was actually a suggestion from the hotel guest when we arrived. When we arrived in the restaurant we noticed how big and clean the place was. It was spacious and the food was smelling amazing as we passed by everyone's table. We weren't sure how the process worked so our waiter/cook explained everything to us and let us know that we pick a combination and he personally cooks the food for us at our table. He was informative and insightful while cooking up our beef combination plate and entertaining our table, including the kids. As for the food, we went with the beef combination plate which feeds up to 4 people for $116 and consisted of of: - thin sliced prime brisket - prime beef boneless short rib - beef finger rib - marinated beef oyster steak The combinations come with pine mushroom, soybean paste soup, green onion salad, romaine salad and steamed egg. The boys also ordered a strawberry and peach lemonade which was a huge hit! We really didn't eat the sides but the kids and my mom loved the meat and rice and the whole experience. I enjoyed everything. Overall, if you are in Buena Park at The Source, stop by M Korean BBQ which is located on the top level. Great experience with awesome food and service. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

My go to. Server is hands on cooking for you while you enjoy your meal. The meat is incredible, super tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly on the grill. You can immediately tell the cuts are high quality. The server is always attentive throughout the entire meal. The sides are always fresh, the portions always generous, and every bite was worth it. 5/5 stars.

Went with the family to "The Source" in Buena Park over the weekend (Beach Blvd @ the 5 Fwy). We had a late lunch at "M Korean BBQ." The food and the service were fantastic! We selected the M Signature Combo with the five listed beef selections shown on the menu. The waiter Alec cooked the meat for us so that we could focus just on eating and talking . He was really good at keeping all of the side goodies well stocked and coming too. It was outstanding!

The small Beef Combo can definitely feed more than two. The sides alone were a meal of its own. They included soup, steamed egg, garden salad, chapchae, green onion salad & kimchi. There were 4 different kinds of meat. The Prime Brisket was slightly overcooked & hence a bit tough. The server does the cooking for you. We loved the Boneless Short Ribs & Marinated Oyster Steaks, so tender & flavorful. The Finger Rib was fine. As if this is not enough, we also got the Corn Pancake. It was ginormous. As much as I love corn, it was just ok. We consumed everything but the steamed egg & corn pancake for lunch & ended up skipping dinner. Our server was pretty good & efficient. The restaurant is quite large with private rooms. Note that this is a no-tip establishment. They simply add a 10% service charge. There's not even a line to add gratuity on the bill/receipt. If I'm in the area and in the mood for K-BBQ, I will go back but order less food.

Planning to take my group of friends here but we have one guy that is a Vegetarian. Is there one or two vegetarian friendly dishes here?

They do have a pretty decent option for various diets.

Is there all you can eat menu?

There is no ALL YOU CAN EAT menu. However, our combo menus have great value chosen with most favorite dishes. We hope to see you soon.

For food, I've tried a lot of their menu and everything is so good and shareable. The korean fried chicken is crispy, not dry, and seasoned so well! A favorite amongst the group was the beef intestine, which I've never had before and was pretty impressed by. It was super juicy and paired well with the scallions and sauce. They have a ridiculous policy that seems to switch from table to table. We wanted to order a pitcher of beer but since one person in our party wasn't 21 they wouldn't allow. BUT THEN!! a table next to us sat down and had about 6 soju bottles and SHOCKER they had kids at their table, but I thought the policy was that everyone had to be 21??? We asked about it and then they said it's because we might distribute it to our friend, yea no. They literally told us "becuase we were all around the same age they couldn't". We were not. And how do they know the parents wouldn't give alcohol to their kids? Are they just deciding when this so called "policy" takes effect? The kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and gat kimchi are absolutely delicious. I heard that the owner makes everything in-house, and you can really tell how much care and skill go into the food. The staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming every time I visit. Galbitang (Beef Short Rib Soup) - This is honestly the best galbitang I've had in both OC and LA. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is always fresh and tender. Whenever I'm craving galbitang in the OC/LA area, this is the only place I go. Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. It's perfectly seasoned, and has just the right level of spice. As much as I love the galbitang, I think I actually enjoy the yukgaejang even more. Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu) - This place is known for its galbitang and seolleongtang, so I wasn't expecting much from the donkatsu... but why is it this good? The cabbage salad dressing that comes on the side is seriously addictive. The portion size is huge, there's no way I could finish it by myself. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.

But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.
