Located inside The Source OC so parking is ample. Located on the 3rd floor. Was seated immediately on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. Kids under 43inches is free and under 50inches is 50%. Self-serve bar for marinated meat selections, "hot" food bar which was more lukewarm, veggies, banchan, and sauces. The servers were consistent with changing our grill but did not bring us a new container of tea when they took our empty one away and when we asked for water, it was forgotten twice. The meat quality was pretty good. We saw a post from 9 days ago that the classic menu had LA Galbi and beef tongue but it's no longer on the menu. Don't know if it was an old photo that was just recently posted. You can get ramen at the end but we were too full for more food. Also have the option for ice cream, which we opted for but it was super melted so it basically cream. I came here to eat with a friend and even tho the food was okay (a little on the pricey side but taste was there tbh) our only issue was our server ( girl with really dark black hair) she was lowkey rude, dismissive, and avoided eye contact. It being our first time here, I wasn't sure exactly how their system works but apoun entering we stood by the computers and pos systems for a lil bit, it was loud and crowded and there wasn't a lot of free chairs. But we didn't mind. We were asked how much is our party and were told by the waitress that we can sit wherever we want. We sit in an empty booth and she then comes over to us and tell us we can't sit there.... Oh veh & then proceeds to put us in these horrible tiny seats in front of the walkway of the bathroom with a great view of all the kitchen hallway. We ordered our food and everything was fabulous. Towards the end of our meal my friend says "damn that waitress hates her job, she didn't check in on us one time" it was true. I had to flag her down to bother her for more napkins. Not once did she check in on how everything was or asked us if we needed anything. We asked for some to go boxes and she didn't even have the courtesy to pack it up for us. I did it myself.. to charge a 14.90 service fee and not offer any services is DIABOLICAL. Our bill was close to 170$ and my friend even tipped in cash like 30$ just as a olive branch because maybe she was having a bad day or whatever but the tall waitress with the beautiful curly hair that took the bill had significantly kinder energy and in the short interaction with her I wish she would have been our waitress. ..As we're leaving I look at the table where she moved us from and there's is this nice couple just vibing there.. like damn ok I see how Yall are... shame cuz this place really had the potential to be a vibe... but whatever what you give you get! Food is great, service can be improved upon.... Came here last night for some late night munchies. Sat outside, which is a fun vibe. The complimentary Barley Tea is wonderful. We ordered the garlic chicken and seafood and green onion pancake. Pancake came out first. Seafood was a good texture, and flavor all around was great. Service then got funky. Our waiter apparently went on break, and there was at least a 10 minute difference from getting the pancake and getting him to come over. When he did come back, it was to say he was still on break, so he couldn't help us. We then went to the front and got the chicken 5 minutes later. Chicken was crispy and flavorful. So much garlic, and the rice cakes were perfect consistency. Service was meh, but everything else was great. read more

I was so disappointed in my experience here! I love bringing family & friends to the source when we are in the area. I had high hopes due to the 4.5 star overall rating on yelp. I joined the yelp wait list and we go to the restaurant at the prompted time. It said our table was ready and to check in with the host. The restaurant was very empty but after I checked in the host said sadly our table would be another hour! I was honestly so surprised when she told us a second wait time! After explaining to her I received a text that said our table was ready she still proceeded to tell me we were out of luck. Hopefully someday I go back and have a better experience. From the reviews it sounds like the food is great however they can work on customer service and staff management. read more

After going to the movies for Mother's Day, we decided to head over to The Source to see which restaurants weren't too busy and decided what to eat once we arrived. Surprisingly, the mall wasn't very crowded so we decided to try M Korean BBQ since it had been a while since we had Korean BBQ. It only took about 10 minutes to be seated and the salad, banchan, and tea were brought out very quickly. We also split a pitcher of Blue Moon since they didn't have any pitchers of Korean beer which was rather disappointing. Apparently you can only order K beer by the bottle. We went with the Signature Combo option which worked out well with more than enough BBQ to satisfy the 4 of us. The servers come to your table to not only bring you your food but also to cut the meat into individual portions and cook it for you. They did a wonderful job of switching out the grills so you never have to worry about getting the blackened residue on your meat. The kim chee was very fresh and well seasoned. The green salad was also excellent. The quality of the meat was extremely good for the price they charge. The restaurant also has a no tip policy but they do add a 10% service charge for cooking at the table which is quite reasonable. My first visit was very impressive and I look forward to returning again in the near future when I feel the need to partake of another KBBQ meal. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this Korean restaurant at The Source in Buena Park, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The customer service was terrible -- there was a noticeable tension from the moment we arrived, and when we asked for a few extra items, it came with attitude. It made the whole meal uncomfortable, and we didn't feel welcome or appreciated as customers at all. It's one thing to be busy, but it's another to make your guests feel unwelcome. On top of that, the prices were way too expensive for the experience we had. Considering the poor service, it just wasn't worth what we paid. We had high hopes, but honestly, this is not a place we'll be coming back to, and I can't recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Hands down the best Korean BBQ I've had in LA so far. I dined here on a Saturday for lunch at the front by the glass doors along with a few other groups, but the restaurant is large enough to accommodate a dinner rush. The space is very modern with minimal decorations and features a patio with a fire pit. Everything we ate was delicious, from the meat grilled by your server, to the various side dishes and barley tea. The sheer number of dishes on the table was impressive and created a creative environment to enjoy something different with every bite. My favorite was pairing the tofu wrappers with kimchi, green onions, and the boneless short rib. Well trained servers rotated through all the tables, flipping and cutting our meat with scissors as necessary. I appreciated that the restaurant opted for a no tipping policy and instead charged a flat 10% fee, especially given the higher price of the meal, which brought me to $49 for a lavish and extremely filling meal that I thought was worth every penny. We spent the weekend in Buena Park during the Knott's Boysenberry festival and decided to hit up M Korean BBQ. It was actually a suggestion from the hotel guest when we arrived. When we arrived in the restaurant we noticed how big and clean the place was. It was spacious and the food was smelling amazing as we passed by everyone's table. We weren't sure how the process worked so our waiter/cook explained everything to us and let us know that we pick a combination and he personally cooks the food for us at our table. He was informative and insightful while cooking up our beef combination plate and entertaining our table, including the kids. As for the food, we went with the beef combination plate which feeds up to 4 people for $116 and consisted of of: - thin sliced prime brisket - prime beef boneless short rib - beef finger rib - marinated beef oyster steak The combinations come with pine mushroom, soybean paste soup, green onion salad, romaine salad and steamed egg. The boys also ordered a strawberry and peach lemonade which was a huge hit! We really didn't eat the sides but the kids and my mom loved the meat and rice and the whole experience. I enjoyed everything. Overall, if you are in Buena Park at The Source, stop by M Korean BBQ which is located on the top level. Great experience with awesome food and service. I've been going to this place for several years now, always satisfied, until last night. I came here to eat around 9pm and bit down on a small shard of bone while chewing on meat. The crunch was so loud that my boyfriend, who was sitting next to me, heard it as well. I was scared it may have damaged my teeth, but in the moment everything seemed fine. Came home, brushed my teeth and felt a jagged, rough surface on the side I bit the bone on. I don't know what happened since I last visited a few months ago but I'm sad to say that I can't see myself coming back after this. Dental work is not cheap and I've never ever gotten a shard of bone in Korean bbq like this before. The one upside is our server seemed to notice when all of this happened and came over to check if everything was okay. I wish I said something. The small Beef Combo can definitely feed more than two. The sides alone were a meal of its own. They included soup, steamed egg, garden salad, chapchae, green onion salad & kimchi. There were 4 different kinds of meat. The Prime Brisket was slightly overcooked & hence a bit tough. The server does the cooking for you. We loved the Boneless Short Ribs & Marinated Oyster Steaks, so tender & flavorful. The Finger Rib was fine. As if this is not enough, we also got the Corn Pancake. It was ginormous. As much as I love corn, it was just ok. We consumed everything but the steamed egg & corn pancake for lunch & ended up skipping dinner. Our server was pretty good & efficient. The restaurant is quite large with private rooms. Note that this is a no-tip establishment. They simply add a 10% service charge. There's not even a line to add gratuity on the bill/receipt. Nice ambiance, but the smoke was more than I would have wanted since it seems the top fans weren't working that well. For our group of four we got the L beef combo, which came with 4 cuts of meat, Brisket, Short Rib, Beef finger rib, and marinated oyster steak. The meats itself were all really good quality and good sizes as well for the price. The taste was good and it was nice and tender as well. Since it wasn't all you can eat, you find yourself savoring the beef a bit more than usual. It comes with sides as well which is the usual rice paper, kimchi, soybean stew and steamed egg, all of which were really good. Overall, I'd say we had a good meal here and a pretty good price point Service/Ambiance For a sunday lunch time, the place wasn't packed at all so we got seated right away. First of all, how rare to have a NO-tipping restaurant! A 10% service fee is added but there is no tipping at all (the credit card print out slip doesn't even offer a line for additional tips)...amazing! Service was friendly and staff helped to cook the meat table side. For a family of four (2 elementary age kids), we got the M Beef Combo S which seemed like enough food, though we will probably get the large size next time for more meat to feed growing children. :) The combo includes 4 cuts of beef...our favorite was the marinated beef oyster steak. The con is sometimes they are busy with other tables and might not be fully serving you. I came here 3 times, 2 times the staff was very attentive and 1 time they're busy and I have to wait a little bit to be severely , but still love it . Atmosphere: modern decor looks cozy , nice , but the music a little loud Pricing: the price is a bit high but totally worth it. The food here is genuinely amazing, which honestly makes the service experience today even weirder. The restaurant was nearly empty (one other table besides ours), but after the staff cooked our set, they completely disappeared while standing around talking to each other. We spent several minutes repeatedly trying to get someone's attention just for basic things like refills. When someone finally came over, the attitude was surprisingly hostile at one point a refill dish was handed directly to us with visible annoyance instead of just being placed on the table normally. It felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by asking for standard service. Oddly enough, everything immediately improved once another staff member took over our table, and the experience after that was great. So this honestly feels more like an issue with specific staff on shift today rather than the restaurant overall. Would still come back for the food because it really is that good, but the service at the beginning of the meal was genuinely off-putting. read more

Their menus mainly offered combos which seemed like an easy selection for order and service. We opted for the M Beef Combo, which includes thin-sliced prime brisket, prime beef, boneless short rib, beef finger rib, and marinated beef oyster steak. It comes with romaine salad, onion salad, kimchi, soybean paste soup, and steamed eggs. It also comes with your typical side dishes (rice paper, radish, etc.). We also ordered cold noodles, which was quite tasty. It was a lot of food for two people. Come here with +3 people and you should be fine with the M combo... maybe add one more dish but that pushing it. Then again... hard to turn down delicious food. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and service. One mention I would like to point out is the radish. It didn't have the fresh crunch like it normally does. Delicious, high quality food, with unusual service. $150 combo for 4 was plenty for 6 adults with a small to medium appetite; however, we did add a couple items. The seafood pancake was fairly thick (batter-wise) though enjoyable, and veggie bibimbap was solid. Both were a good complement to the many meats. Banchan was delightful (and included the usual, with veggie jap chae also), and they served typical dressed lettuce and rice sheets. Service was strange: friendly and responsive overall, but you order from the kiosk, and a cook/server is eventually assigned to you. They are pleasant, good cooks, but not very knowledgeable about the menu when asked. We also needed to make significant effort to order drinks and request banchan refills. Satisfying food that I would happily eat again, but with service with which I would only subject my more patient or forewarned friends/family. They probably just need more staff. First time trying KBBQ in OC area. Located on 3rd floor of The Source OC. The vibe inside is a mix of Quarters in Ktown and Gen KBBQ. There's also a connecting bar. Family and stroller friendly. There was no wait, but took a while to get seated. Service was ok and portions were really big. You order on an ipad connected to the table. They cook the food for you, and there is a no tipping policy. The restaurant is huge but on this day it was quiet with only half a dozen tables occupied. We decided to get the beef combo for 2. There were plenty of banchan (side dishes) provided; radish, rice paper, cilantro, onion, salad, kimchi, bean sprouts, glass noodles, an egg dish, soup...I don't know all the proper names for the dishes but there was plenty to enjoy. A couple of staff took turns cooking the 4 meats, all of which were superb quality beef. Each meat was grilled in succession - prime brisket, prime boneless short rib, beef finger rib, and marinated beef oyster steak were each cooked perfectly to our specification. As some reviews mention, the staff move a bit too quickly, starting to cook the next meat before you've even finished with the previous one. We simply asked them to take a break in order to slow them down which they accommodated. We appreciated that the bill was not brought to our table immediately but instead they allowed us to sit and have an extended conversation after we finished our meal until we requested it. I guess since it wasn't busy they didn't rush us to turn the table over which made for a pleasant, leisurely dining experience. The ventilation seemed to be great as we didn't smell smokey afterward. We had eaten here years ago when they first open and had a really great experience. Had some visiting from out of town and decided to give them another visit. The first time we went here I remember it being very busy and we had to wait to be seated. I should have taken the warning when we arrived as the restaurant was really empty. We were greeted nicely by the hostess as it was her first day there. But unfortunately, that was the only smile we received the whole night. We ordered the largest pre-set meals that was on the menu for four persons and was told we can add to the order later. The waiter that helped us seemed to be in a very bad mood and did not really respond when asking questions about the menu and food. The meats that we ordered were of good quality but were not better than your average a higher scale KBBQ. Their banchan was very minimum and there was nothing you could order extra such as cucumber kimchee or fish cake etc. They also did not seem to want to refill anything unless you asked several times. This was totally different experience than we received on our first visit. This is probably why they are not as busy as before. We thought that part of the problem might be that they do not want you to tip. Maybe that is why the wait staff seemed so unmotivated? My family and I decided to come here last minute while we were at a play place on the first floor. We easily put our name on the waitlist and received a text that our table was almost ready, so we made our way upstairs. Once we arrived, we were seated pretty quickly. Since it was our first time, we didn't know anything about how the restaurant operates. It would've been nice to get a quick rundown. You choose one option/price and receive everything in that category. We chose the top combo option. The meats were all cut well, and the gentleman cooked for us and gave us whatever we requested. He checked in often about how well done we wanted our meat, which we appreciated. Through asking questions, we learned that if you want a second serving of a specific meat, you have to pay separately (à la carte). My daughter only likes thin meats, but we opted not to get a second serving of brisket because of the price. Additionally, rice is also an extra menu item; however, it was absolutely delicious. Overall, the combo option gives you a great selection of meats and sides. My son, who is a very picky eater, tried at least one of every meat -- which was a first for him! No tip is required or requested, as they are considered a no-tip restaurant. The customer service was phenomenal. I can absolutely see myself going back for a family or date night. My only recommendation is that they ask guests if it's their first time visiting and provide a brief explanation of how everything works. read more
