Go here & support small business! WCG (Windy City Grill) is not fast food and its evident in its offerings. The fries, and chips are cut and cooked to order. Anything fried is hand-breaded to order. We arrived an hour before close. There was a massive party of 18 leaving so our timing was perfect! The restaurant is unassuming on the outside- look for WCG on the sign. We were greeted and advised to sit where we liked. There were several tables to choose from. The dining room is bright and welcoming. Maz (mahz) is the owner, along with his wife, and also served us. He was pleasant & attentive. It was clear by all the regulars there how well-respected he is and how liked his restaurant is. I ordered the fish sandwich with housemade chips and my hubby got the Windy City Shrimp Po-boy with housecut fries. It was all delicious. Nothing was greasy at all. My sandwich was huge. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Y'all, with the economy the way it is, we've really been trying to eat at small businesses and Windy City Grill did not disappoint. If they're super busy & the service seems a little lacking, cut them some slack & enjoy ambiance and time it takes them to pour love into your meal. read more

So overall great experience. Outside and inside was really clean barring the random items around like in the pic of the bar. Didn't go to restroom. Service was great! Attended to very quickly and food came out really fast. The food was really fresh! I hate that I have to dock the entire experience 1 star for the other things but it'd be inaccurate to say 5 stars. Took 1 star (which actually would have only done a 1/2 if it were an option) because I personally did not like the grits at all. But that doesn't mean you won't. My pancake was lukewarm on the verge of cold. I do believe that was due to the preparation being timed wrong. I went at the very beginning of the day. I went in during off peak hours and they were pretty slow. Service was quick and excellent imho. The meal was well prepared, exactly how I had ordered the bacon was crisp, sausage had good flavor, eggs were cooked to perfection. The two pancake were large, light and fluffy Nothing fancy about WCG and you would most likely drive right on by it if you didn't know it was there, not the greatest location but worth a stop and give them a try when in the area. Food might be okay, but having to suffer through miserable people who aren't even happy you are patronizing their restaurant just isn't the way. They don't know how to handle value of any sort. This is a local little Ma/PA place. It is operated and served by the owners. The food is great, my favorite is Vernes Italian Omelete. It is nice to get away from the commercialized fast food places. Be patient, treat them well as they will you, and enjoy the food. read more

We can here for breakfast. After being seated, we ordered drinks, coffee, milk and orange juice. She brings the drinks, and then left us with menus. A few minutes later she came back and told us they are out of breakfast. Well that is why we came! They should have told us that before we ordered drinks. Actually they should have said it before we were seated. $11 for coffee, milk and orange juice and we have to leave and get something else to eat. No apology or anything. I can't believe we never went here. It is so close to our house and we are lucky we tried it. The food literally looked like something that would be pictured in a menu or shot for a tv commercial. We saw plates from other diners and they were equally perfect. It was the best breakfast I've ever had from a restaurant. The food was so perfect on every plate and very good. Eggs fluffy and perfect, the waiter told me that they smoke the ham for the omelets (plenty of ham), toast golden brown and completely buttered, has browns perfect and not scorched into submission like what happens so often at breakfast places. A buddy and I came here for breakfast today. It was the first time for both of us. Boy, was I pleased we stopped in! We both had the #4. To say I was pleased is an understatement. The pancakes were absolutely delicious. The eggs, light and fluffy with cheese well incorporated, hash browns crispy, sausage as well as bacon very flavorful. This has quickly become our Saturday breakfast spot. Very personable staff that reacts to your tempo. You need to go and they are quick, want to hang out and they will slow down. Food is delicious and very customizable. The interior has recently been redone and looks great too. My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant on a Sunday around lunch time. They've got a mixture of burgers, hot dogs and various hot meals, with a fine assortment of breakfast food. We both ended up ordering off the breakfast menu. For me, I had 3 pancakes and a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit. The pancakes were large and fluffy. The biscuit buttery and flaky, with a perfectly cooked egg. My wife had a huge meal of French toast, biscuit, bacon and eggs which she enjoyed. Recommendations: - Get rid of the Country Crock on the tables. Putting an oil-based butter substitute on an amazingly fresh and fluffy pancake is a sin. It doesn't taste as good, isn't as healthy and requires a lot more to get the same effect. This was probably my least favorite part of the meal. - The French toast didn't hold a candle to the pancakes. They need more egg and less cinnamon (I'm assuming that was cinnamon?) They didn't have the wonderful egginess of French toast and tasted more like toast. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and will be back pronto. Easy to miss it, but they are at the corner of Hawkins Store Road & Canton Road. Our server was very helpful & friendly! The place is cute and cozy inside and the food is so good! I had the WIndy City Burger which was juicy, had a great sauce , crispy onion straws, and nice crust on the bun and burger. Our server suggested a side of homemade ranch for the fries, great addition! Our son had the Belgium waffle with a side of chocolate topped ice cream (it smelled and tasted wonderful). My husband had 2 big pancakes and nice crispy bacon. I would suggest moving the specials sign, we missed that they had chicken & waffles, our favorite! We'll have to come back for those! A few visits later and still good! Haven't written in a while and figured it was time to update the written thoughts. Our daughter is a vegetarian. They remember and try to make sure that she has multiple options every visit. That is always a plus. On our most recent visit, they suggested their version of a classic sandwich to me. A BLT made with fried green tomato's. sounded just different enough to try. Of course, I still ordered French Toast, just so I would know I could rely on that if the suggestion wasn't good. Pleasantly surprised at how tasty the sandwich was. Served with their home made potato chips to compliment the favors. Another hit! In all fairness the owner was out on vacation and another, I assume , family member was in charge. We ordered a shrimp po boy, and a BLT and chili fries. The po boy was served on a hot dog bun and the BLT had 2 pieces of bacon. I paid 8.00 for that disappointing sandwich and the chili fries was barely enough for me let alone to share. So glad we tried this place! Had a hankering for a Reuben sandwich and this place popped up, and right down the street from my house. I've seen it before but never paid much attention. Went through the drive through and ordered a couple Reubens plus a burger for my kids to share. Super friendly service, was advised to call ahead and pick up in drive thru next time. Food was delicious! Very tasty Reuben, corned beef was tender and not fatty, and the burger was juicy and perfect on a nice bun. I only wish they were open for dinner because we rarely get takeout for lunch, much more likely to do it for dinner. Nevertheless, I'll definitely be back to try out more of the menu! Stopped by this place for the first time while out shopping in the area. I wasn't sure if they were open due to COVID happening, but, YES, they are OPEN! You can eat in-with social distancing-or take out. I had a Thai chicken sandwich with peanut sauce and crispy fries, it was really delicious and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and I enjoyed my meal. Will definitely be back to dine in this cute cafe. Lindsay is so cute and her personality always makes me laugh. The menu is about what you would expect: breakfast and burgers and sandwiches. The thing that stands out is the smoked ham. It is sweet and salty with light smoke flavor. The sausages are also good. Try the polish sausage - juicy and delicious. Really good Hawaiian French toast. It is so good you really font even need syrup. Burgers are juicy and messy and awesome. We sometimes get a burger and a BLT and do half/half. There are enough good thing on the menu that it is really hard to decide. The rest aunt is basic in decor but comfortable. It feels like you are popping into your friends restaurant for a bite. And, in a way you are - the owner is extremely personable and makes sure you are well taken care of. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's so close to my house. Unfortunately, it's one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Extremely mediocre and cheap tasting food, very bland. I could have made a much better breakfast at home myself. When my mother and I had our first and last visit to this restaurant, there were only 2 other tables eating inside but our food managed to take about 30 minutes. The service that day wasn't the best either but if I were working there I would be miserable too.
