I've been going to this Ace for a few years and always have a great experience. The staff is friendly and always asks if I need any help locating anything as they have quite a large inventory. I especially like how they have the smaller and harder to find fasteners that the big box stores don't have. They have also been great about special orders on larger items, or items not in stock. I can tell you why Ace hardwares keep shutting down. We went into this store after checking stock online on a grill planning to drop $1500 on this thing and take it home. The sale price was not marked so we asked the nearest associate about the price. He gets on his earpiece to ask about the price. All of a sudden we are surrounded by like 6 workers trying to figure out the price of this grill. They start making this big deal about if we get the sale price then we won't get the starter kit with a cover and spices in it. That's fine we say, we would rather get the sale price. I asked can you try to ring it up and see if it's just on sale? Lo and behold, we get it to the register and it rings up on sale. The next issue was all 6 employees didn't feel it would fit in our car. After measuring and figuring out it will fit buying it there just didn't seem worth it. It just seemed like they'd rather argue about stuff than sell it so we got in the car and ordered it with free scheduled delivery from Home Depot without any hassle or judgement from any store employees. read more

Every time we go in this store, we have received the best customer service ever! Doesn't matter what it is, electrical (or lighting), painting supplies, safety locks/key replacement, cleaning supplies (they have De-solv-it - IT WORKS!), nuts/bolts, to our most recent visit. Needed tiny batteries for a couple things...air conditioning remote, etc. Our problem was solved by Arron (sp?, - don't know last name), he went far above what was expected, got it opened (we couldn't), and reset it. Little (or big) issues that cause big problems, are gladly tackled by this Ace Hardware store, and it's VERY proficient and helpful employees. Arron could've easily said, I can't do that or you'll have to do that yourself (like Home Depot, etc. would've done), but he went the extra mile to make sure our problems were solved. I love having this store so close to home. The staff is always super helpful and I can just walk in with a part, show them what I have and they take me where I need to go! Anytime I go in I can have 3 to 5 employees ask me if I need help while I wander the aisles looking for crafting ideas. If I explain a new item I'm trying to design they will frequently help me find a part to make it happen, I love that! The staff is super friendly, they recognize me and acknowledge me accordingly, that is much appreciated in this age of crappy service anywhere else I go. The store is well-stocked and easy to shop. My husband had an unpleasant experience with store employee. One employee took him to restroom and another employee was so rude and disrespectful. As he was leaving the restroom he became confrontational and tried to prevent him from using the restroom even though a coworker was there and had escorted him. As an adult there was a better way to address this issue. If restroom is not for customers there should be signage. At the entrance to restroom is Not right time to pursue the issue. Good customer service is let customer use, discuss with management and make sure all employees are on the same page. I never would have shared this publicly if I had received acknowledgment from Ace after contacting them. Just wanted public to be aware of unkind treatment at store. Better customer service would have been Ace apologizing and letting customer know what policy is for store restroom. Have yet to have a response to communication sent via email. I was happy when I saw this "red hot buy" on storage containers! Unfortunately, this misleading ad was only for the $3.99 containers. I asked to speak to a manager and John (no title on his badge) was very short and told me he would not honor this ad and said I could call corporate. I have never felt more dismissed. No exaggeration the workers here are friendly, helpful and knowledge--aka perfect. They are the main reason I shop here instead of Home Depot or Lowe's. While it is a little bit smaller store they almost always have what I need. I'm clueless when it comes to certain projects but the workers never make me feel stupid for it. I know that Ace Hardware stores are locally owned and I would truly like to see all local businesses flourish in these difficult times. I've made the trek to this store on a number of occasions even though I have a larger chain hardware store in walking distance from my house. I was disappointed on my last visit, where I went for a new o-ring for the stopper in my bathroom sink. I was told that putty would work much better for that application. While this sounded a little strange, the guy told me that he had installed dozens of sinks and knew what he was talking about. It turns out that putty works great for sealing immovable joints, but for a stopper that raises and lowers, the o-ring is really the way to go. I was pushed toward the putty in spite of the fact that I had a picture on my phone that clearly showed where I was trying to put the o-ring. After experiencing total failure with the putty, I resigned myself to getting a generic o-ring from the warehouse store whose signature color is the same as that of the outgoing president that their former CEO is buddies with. read more

I recently shopped at Mission Ace Hardware one day ago. This store is a great small business. Everyone is so friendly! The sales associates in paint really know there stuff. Better yet there keys are only .50 cents! The big box stores are double that. Also, don't believe the negative posts on here either. I used to work in retail and dealing with the public is not easy. There is tons of crazy people out there. It seems like people need to relax. I always say every single person should work two weeks in retail. Went here the other day to get a specific lightbulb and to see what kind of large moving boxes they had. They didn't have the exact bulb I was looking for but I got one that was similar and as far as the boxes, they have limited sizes. BUT the associate gave me suggestions on places to look for bigger size boxes. Now that's great customer service. I always thought of this as my neighborhood hardware store until today. We have been here 3 times in the last couple of weeks to get Weber Charcoal. When I asked an associate today, he walked me to an aisle and said, "up until 2 months ago, this aisle was lined with grills, now we're out of stock ." I said, "OK, but I'm looking for Weber charcoal." He told me that I was out of luck because shipments come on Wednesdays and Fridays and oh, by the way, since they don't limit quantities, people are buying 4 and 5 bags at a time and one guy comes in and buys 12 bags a week. Really??!!! If you are a neighborhood store, you should limit quantities especially with how stupid people are with hoarding issues due to the pandemic. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Decided to take matters into my own hands a fix a cracked irrigation line. Giles greeted me in an aisle with a smile and asked what project I was working on. I explained and he said "easy!" and reassured me I could do this all by myself and save a lot of money by doing so. He made sure I only had what I absolutely needed and explained what to do. I have commercial accounts at Lowes and Home Depot. I find their prices pretty competitive unless I am buying high priced items or large quantities. Staff always helpful, but the window screen is sub-par. Ads are good, but I find other Ace locations run better ads then this Ace. Also, why cant you access your ace rewards if you have an credit account. They dont give you a discount, so why use their credit when you cant earn points. That just doesn't make sense read more

My parents were having some plumbing issues with their washing machine. I thought about going to Home depot but decided to go to Mission Ace in Glendora. Boy am I glad I did! Albert was awesome. He took time to walk me through how the plumbing works and helped trouble shoot all the issues that could be the problem. I went to my parents house (I'm not a plumber) and pulled a few things apart, cleaned a few hoses and the problem went away. Albert's suggestion was correct! I found that his service was exceptional! I would have received this same help from HD. When ever I have a home issue, I will go to Mission Ace before I go to HD. This place has awesome employees that care about customers.
