My review is specifically for my experience picking out paints for a remodel of my bedroom and exterior of my home. I don't know what I would have done without Ange, the paint lady! I must have come here every day for about a week trying to pick the right samples and paints. Ange is an expert on paint, is extremely patient and friendly. I finally came to decide on my BM paint colors which I'm extremely happy with months later thanks to Ang. I will be coming back to her for all my future paint needs. Thanks again Ange! read more

Very friendly staff, good prices and selection on everything but wood. If you are not doing major renovations, look here before going to Lowe's or Home Depot. They also have a hardware (nuts & bolts) aisle that is better than the big name hardware / home improvement centers. If you can't find it, go to King Bolt; otherwise, this is the place! read more

The people running this place know a thing or two about hardware stores. The service is amazing and the employees are beyond knowledgeable. I will not be shopping at this ACE again. I returned an item without a receipt and agreed to an in-store credit. I was satisfied with this until I received half credit of the amount paid. I asked why I was only getting half credit and I was told that it was because it was on sale. I checked the advertisement flyer and it was not listed as a sale item. I checked to see if it was posted as an in-store sale and it wasn't. I spoke with the manager/owner about how it could be on sale if it wasn't advertised or posted anywhere. The response was that they were "an independent store" and that he could make sale prices whenever he wanted. He chose to make my item a "sale price item" on the spot. read more

My wife and I went to our local ace hardware store just to pick up a few items mainly some screws for our project in the backyard .we were approached by a elderly female employee with a very short hair cut. we described what we needed and she showed us where they were. we grabbed one of the boxes, unfortunately we dropped it and some of the screws went on the floor. my wife went to pick the screws up off the floor and the female associate rudely replied (this is my section I'll pick it up ) next time you need help you ask me. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Then when we got to the checkout the two female cashiers were having such a great conversation amongst themselves , they failed to even acknowledge us until I said something. They then rang us up and handed the receipt and didn't even say thank you. Home Depot is not that far from my house .... and they give excellent customer service. I returned 2 items for echange which had the "Ace Promise Satisfaction Guaranteed" on the packaging. I checked online before going and read that this is a "Lifetime Guarantee". I was surprised I was given a hard time by the cashier. I was not requesting money back, just an exchange for something guaranteed to last. I was kind of surprised because I frequent this store and normally have a good experience. My intent of this review is to point out that Mission Ace doesn't want to honor the Ace guarantee. read more

Much easier than Home Depot or Lowes. If you need a specific item like a certain size bolt, pipe fitting or specialty item...this is the fastest place to go. Prices are generally competitive with big box stores. The savings in time and aggravation make it well worth stopping here for your hardware. read more

Lobster Season is here and in my preparation for the Lobster trapping rush I came to Mission Ace Hardware with a problem. I wanted to attach my GoPro to a pole long enough to observe my lobster traps without having to pull them up. I didn't know how I could safely do this without risking my expensive GoPro. So I walked into the store and was pleasantly greeted by Jeff. I told him my idea and I asked him if he knew of a way to do it. He came up with this great idea: He grabbed a 20 ft. PVC pipe and cut it into four pieces (5 ft each). Ran a rope thru the five pieces and added a few washers at each end. He then drilled a hole at the end of the PVC pipe and attached a threaded bolt for me to connect my GoPro. This lite solution was great because I could collapse this 20 ft. pole down to a few 5 ft. poles and he build it in a way that I wont lose my GoPro. I look forward to using it this weekend. But this is not why I'm writing this review. The reason I needed to write this review is because I had a problem and not only did Jeff provide me the solution but he even built the solution for me. That to me is above and beyond any typical hardware store. I came in with no idea on how to to do it and I walked out with the solution in hand. Thank you Jeff and Mission Ace Hardware. This Ace rocks! I had some old faucet washers i needed. The guy says oh in aisle 4 right side second or third drawer. There they were . Such a huge help. It's close by and convenient and one on one help that's hard to find anymore these days . I had my front door rekeyed there too. Took it outta tha door and to the back there and he rekeyed it cheap. Can't remember exact price. I'm pretty sure it was under $10.00. I think that guys name is John. Totally cool people work there. Always have what I need. Oh. Oh yes. They matched my paint to a t. Can't even tell it's a recoat with the paint they mixed for me. I took a chip or so of drywall and it came out very nice . Can't even tell thanks to Ace! Glendora! read more

The customer service rocked, Elizabeth was my cashier. I came in for batteries, when I went to pay Elizabeth pointed out I could get 60% more for the same price, what a deal. The shelves are immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful and they often have what I need...HOWEVER, I feel hesitant taking home improvement tips from an outfit the bathroom of which looks like a venereal disease nightmare. Seriously. It would take half a day to replace the urine-caked linoleum. They have access to the supplies needed? Why don't they see it as a horrific embarrassment? Disgusting. read more

I used to be a Home Depot customer almost exclusively. After the service at H.D. started going downhill, I figured I would give these guys a try, since I gas up at the Union station across the street. I needed a washer for a hose nozzle, some spray paint and some silicone sealer. As soon as I got in and started walking the aisles, one of the employees asked me if I needed anything, and when I said yes, he walked me to the aisle and showed me exactly what I needed. When I asked him a few questions about another project I had, he gave me different options I could try, and suggested different hardware to do it. Try getting THAT at H.D. ...these guys are amazing!! Not once did he seem like he had somewhere else to be or have something else to do. This is customer service!!! I won't be going back to Home Depot. read more

I just went to Ace Hardware in Glendora in the Albertson's center and just had to write a quick review. I just needed a few things for sprinkler repair and while I was in there got offered help three times. I can't even find anyone in the big box hardware stores, let alone have an associate seek me out and offer help. The store is super clean and well organized, parking is a pleasure, and above all else the staff is beyond helpful. If I need anything home improvement related, I will be heading to Ace Hardware in Glendora. read more

The BEST hardware store! Moved to the area 6 months ago...everyone said Ace was the place to go and they were right. Every employee is extremely helpful and I feel like they help because they actually want to not because they have to. I am a novice do it yourself gal and they always walk me through everything I've ever needed. Their customer service is top notch! My dad is a veteran do it yourself guy and he said it is the best store he has ever been to. He actually doesn't mind helping me with projects because he likes our ace so much. Also their prices are very reasonable and they have 50 cent keys that actually work...can't beat it! I only wish they were open until 7 on Sundays as it seems I always need something between 6 and 7 on a Sunday. :) read more

I was contacted by Dino regarding the poor customer service. I explained the situation to him. He said he would look into it. I received a call back the next day. He apologized and stated that things were not handled properly. He stated that he would honor the original deal if I were still interested and would make sure that everything would be taken care of satisfactorily. I appreciated the fact that Dino was concerned about my initial experience and wanted to do what he could to fix it. This is more of my idea of the way to run a local neighborhood establishment. I was at this store yesterday came in to check out the umbrellas. I had been to several different competitors and they were not to my taste. Decided to go to.the local hardware store and to much of my knowledge they had some. I walked in the store was greeted by the cashier on 3 i believe her name was michelle. She made me feel welcomed. I ended up with a blue umbrella and the cashier was extremely.nice and asked if i seen the solar umbrellas i was helped by david and ultimately bought a solar one. Was shopping around for some DIY ideas for my training facility when a Caucasian man with white hair came up to me asking if I needed help. I politely said I was fine and was just looking around when he shot me a strange look and walked away. One more associate came up to me a couple minutes later and asked me the same thing , in a much nicer tone and my answer was the same. I kept noticing that the Caucasian man kept following me around and staring at me while I was walking through the aisles, and soon enough he came up to me again with the same question. When I have him the same answer, he answered in a very snarky tone "Alright then help yourself" and shot me another dirty look. I understand customer service but at the same time you have to watch your tone and your facial expressions. Also really don't want to categorize this as a racist conflict but when you're being followed as a person of color throughout the store and being "helped" with attitude on multiple occasions in a short amount of time (45 second intervals) in a predominantly white neighborhood, you can't second guess yourself. Very rude, morbid, disrespectful female cashiers. Not at all knowledgeable. Don't know if the one female cashier who helped me was a manager but was very short with me and rude. Had an attitude like it was an inconvenience to help me out. A lady customer standing behind me gave me a puzzled look as to why they were being so rude with me. All I asked for was an item behind a glass case. I'll never shop at Ace again after this experience. For quality customer service go to OSH or Home Depot. read more

Ace Hardware is the place...for great customer service! I recently moved to Glendora and I needed personalized help that I know I would not find in a big box store. My goal is to get in, find what I need quickly, and get back to work on my project. Who has time to walk around two football fields of store products to find weed wacker feeder cord and new address numbers for my front entrance? I walked into the well lite store and found John S., who walked me right to what I needed. But the best part is when we arrived at the weed wacker cord he asked me what size did I need? I had no clue. I said, what is the difference between these cords?" After a great explanation, I still had no idea but I said I have the weed wacker in my car. He said "Let's go!" John S. not only walked through the parking lot to my car to find out what size I needed, showed me the best product for my equipment, he offered that if I could not figure out how to get the cord installed and working properly; to bring back the cord and wacker to the store and we would install it together. Now that is great customer service! I will recommend Mission Ace Hardware store to all my family and friends. Stop in and ask for John S.; is an awesome guy and a great smile! read more

Ace is a very family oriented hardware store. The employees there are as unique as the products they sell. They are very knowledgeable, patient and readily available to answer every question. We were in there the other day and we saw an employee, John S., who we have not seen in awhile. It was nice to see him and it gave us the opportunity to thank him for his help with a plumbing issue we were having. True Story: I bought three spare keys two times at Lowe's (2nd was an exchange). Both times only one of the three keys only worked on the doorknob. None worked on the deadbolt. The strange thing is that one out of three did the same thing both times? I went to my local Mission ACE hardware today. You know the one, "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man". I bought three keys for 50 cents each instead of $1.87 each at Lowe's. All three ACE hardware keys work in both the deadbolt and the doorknob. read more

The Management Team in this Ace Hardware is a JOKE. I used to frequent this location because it was convenient and I didn't mind paying a little more than the big box stores because it was close to home. However, what I witnessed the last time I shopped in the store was inexcusable. I was in line behind an elderly gentleman who paid for one small item and upon exiting the store, he was stopped for "shoplifting". I don't have all the facts behind the situation but I watched the Management have this elderly man (likely in his 80s) ARRESTED because he had a small item in his pocket (I believe it was a mouse trap). I understand shoplifting is an issue for retailers, but to watch the Police handcuff and haul away an 80 year old man for a tiny item was absolutely disgusting. I can only hope that the Manager that ordered this elderly man be arrested, is shown the same exact amount of "grace" when he is elderly. This one incident has caused not only myself, but my entire family and friends to decide to take our business back to Home Depot. Management at this location should be ashamed of themselves!!! read more
