I was told the O2 sensor needed to be replaced. I checked the price for the senors which cost about $600+. Plus labor, I am looking at ~$800 or more for the repair. I contacted Terry Madsen at High Street Automotive through Yelp. Terry asked me to send the failed test report to him, and convinced me the sensor most likely are good. I just needed a proper drive to reset the sensors. I listened to him and drove the car follow the suggested driving pattern for ~40 miles. It passed! I most appreciated is the he offered his expert opinion without charge. Terry was not only just asked questions online. He went to extra miles ask me to send test report through email he gave to me during online exchange. It is rare nowadays.

Jack personally went next door to check on my car, and offered me 10% off repairs. I was told I could drop my car off the next day without needing another appointment. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

He walked me through what the process would involve and initially quoted just over $500. After I mentioned that was a bit outside my budget, he adjusted the price to $450 and explained clearly why he couldn't go lower given the labor involved. No pressure, just transparency. I dropped the car off at 8:15 AM and it was completed around 1 PM. When I returned, Perry again personally inspected the vehicle with me and showed me the results. The paint looks dramatically better -- smooth, uniform, and restored. The heavy spotting is gone and the finish has great clarity. What really impressed me was the integrity beyond the paint correction. Perry noticed uneven wear on my front right tire. Instead of trying to sell me new tires, he explained tire rotation intervals (about every 5,000 miles) and recommended simply swapping the rear right to the front right for now. Given that I replaced all four tires at the same time a few years ago, his recommendation made sense. They completed the swap in about 15 minutes for $39.99. No upselling. No scare tactics. Just practical advice. Overall, I left feeling that I was treated fairly, educated properly, and given honest service. That combination is rare. Highly recommend.

He was very thorough, did a computer check, thorough check under the truck and on the engine, and test drive, and was able to see that a light had been replaced, rust had been painted over, a previous accident/damage had occurred that was not on the CarFax, the rear differentials were leaking and needed replacement, and there were some small leaks in the engine as well that would require future repair as well (along with other smaller things). There was at least $2500 worth of work that would have to be done to be safe to tow immediately and about $4000 total of work within a year. He thought the truck was overpriced at $17,900 with the fixes needed. I tried to negotiate the price for these fixes and the dealer would not budge a single cent. They were obviously not used to a mechanic checking out their trucks. He saved me $4000 worth of fixes on an overpriced truck so walked away. Very honest guy and highly recommend.

At the end of each day, they cleaned up and put away the tools so the house was still accessible. It's crazy how different the house looks compared to before. I'm just loving it! Then over the winter, Chris' team returned because I wanted my garage refinished. I had 70s paneling and broken/crumbling dry wall. Considering how much time I spend in my garage, I can't believe I lived with such an eye sore for so many years. I gave Chris the hard task of wanting smooth walls, and if you know...that's a whole lot of sanding. His team came through and delivered! I love the new paint color on the walls, and no longer despise my garage. Oh, and also want to mention that he also patched up a bunch of holes inside my house (from electrical work I had done) and matched the existing wall texture and paint. You can't even tell the difference. Overall, Chris is amazing to work with. He's super responsive via text/calls. Great service and honest mechanic! My friend used to have a Lexus ls400, the air conditioning was not working since he bought the car, we went to different shops to have them take a look and see if it was fixable. Some told us to fix it will cost at least 1000 dollars, and one shop on A street in hayward told us we have to fix no matter how expensive it would cost, the mechanic said to fix your car you should not consider about the price but fix the problem is more important~ But in mission auto repair, the mechanic khan strongly suggested us not to fix the air conditioning and told us to sell the car as soon as we can to save our money. He said it was not worth to fix the problem on this car at all because this car only worth 3000 dollars! I felt so confortable to send me car to mission auto repair because they never try to cheat you but always telling you exactlly where is the problem and how to fix it right on and cheap. Now i send my mercedes to this shop for all the service and i'm having a camshaft leak on my car, and the quote from this shop is only $400 which cheaper then any other, and most importantly they buy parts directly from dealer. read more

The staff was friendly, honest, and super professional, they explained everything clearly without trying to upsell me on things I didn't need (which I really appreciate). If I could give this shop a 0 I would. The NEW owner OMAR is running this shop into the ground. He does not pay for trash to be taken out nor empty his oil containers both are spilling onto the ground . Throws his old oil filters into the garbage . Throws cigarette buds all over the property . He also does not pay his employees and when employees ask about it he will ignore them for days until they bring up lawyers and taking legal actions against him. He no longer uses the payroll app to pay wages for employee so he doesn't have to employee taxes . read more

When I returned, instead of fixing their mistake, they claimed they had no availability and said they could repair it next week leaving me without any vehicle for the whole weekend. Breaking something during service and then asking the customer to wait for the whole weekend to fix it is beyond ridiculous. Completely unprofessional and irresponsible.

I had a terrible time with the gentleman who owned the shop in front of theirs, who lied and told me I was in the right place, which wasn't corrected until I called Fremont Auto Center looking for an update. Jack personally went next door to check on my car, and offered me 10% off repairs. I was told I could drop my car off the next day without needing another appointment. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

I came to Cosmic Automotive a year ago to get my transmission fluid changed. I found this business…read morethrough Yelp and took a chance with them because of their stellar reviews. I got my vehicle in and out without any trouble. Their prices seem fair. Jesse was the one that I spoke to and at the end of the service, he told me that they had checked my break fluid for me (without me needing to ask) and recommended that I come back in a year to get it flushed out since it was still good at the time he checked it. Fast forward a year, I came in and spoke to Jesse again and asked if he could check my brake fluid to see if it needed changing. He kindly did so and was honest with me and told me that my brake fluid was still good and did not need changing and that I could probably push the service a little longer. Keep in mind, this second time I came in I had no other services done. Their honesty and fair prices have definitely converted me into a regular customer. I will be bringing my vehicle here for my maintenance oil changes because their prices are better than the previous place I was going to.
