This was one of the few places near our hotel that was open. Placed our order online, estimated pick up time was 15 minutes later, however it was not ready at the time stated, and we ended up waiting another 10 minutes or so. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm inside. At the ordering counter, there was a warmer with pizza slices on display & they looked old and dry...not good signs :( Once we got back to the hotel, realized that the dessert we ordered was missing; decided it wasn't worth the hassle to drive back or complain. The appetizers (hot wings and stuffed jalapeños) were good, but the pizza (kitchen sink) was "mid" as my son kept saying. It had plenty of toppings: red sauce, three cheeses, pepperoni, salami, Italian sausage, Linguicia, sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions, and black olives, but seemed a bit undercooked. It was also sliced oddly, with some very small thin pieces and large slices. Our hotel room had a full kitchen, and we were able to pop the pizza in the oven. It was better after baking it a bit more.

This a great spot to stop in for a bite to eat, whole pizzas or slices of pizzas available . Slices of pizza are $5 each and choices are cheese or pepperoni only. We ordered one slice of each for lunch, both were big slices that filled us up! Hot, fresh and cheesy. There's only three tables inside to sit at, but also a few outdoor counter seats. Most people seem to order take out.

We loved the clam chowder and the pizza is very good! Sometimes they are inconsistent with their quality, but you can't beat their location. We got their clam chowder and walked the half block to the beach to enjoy wave watching while eating. Highly recommend getting your food to go so you have this experience!

This is always a go to when we are visiting Avila. The service differs every time we go. For the most part, they are friendly. We don't stay for the ambiance because there really isn't any. People are in and out and it gets crowded. We prefer taking our food to the beach or going back to the hotel room. As for the food, my favorite is the calamari. This is the only place I go for calamari and if they ever stop serving it, I honestly probably wouldn't come back. Fish and chips are good with their tartar sauce. Pizza is okay- we got the pepperoni. Wings were pretty good. Clam chowder was flavorless. All in all, I recommend this place!

This place is small, but has great subs! The bread is soft and toasty. The sandwich was packed with flavor and the fries were seasoned perfectly and were crunchy! I haven't tried anything else on this menu, but this is a great spot for lunch at Avila Beach.

Pepperoni, looks good but everything stayed in the box when we tried to take pieces out.

Service was fine if slightly underwhelming. The vibe was ultra casual and subdued. You can not order a pizza with toppings on one half and different toppings on the other half. So we had to order two pizzas. Vegetable pizza was very good and well cooked. We had ordered a pepperoni as the second pizza but they made a cheese pizza on accident. They had us keep the cheese pizza and remade the pepperoni which took another ten mins, which was a minor inconvenience. The pepperoni fell apart as we removed each piece. Not sure if that was bc they tried to cook it too fast or...tasted fine but nothing special. Pricing is what you'd expect for a beach town pizzeria I just would've expected better overall flavor and quality. Would eat this pizza again.

The best pizza near the beach! I've been coming here for over 8 years and I always stop here for a nice, delicious pie. The Loaded Potato and the Pulled Pork are top shelf! Fish and chips, Calamari, and the sandos are to die for. I usually stay at the vacation rentals next door to them, so its just an easy walk down the stairs when I make my order. The staff is friendly and inviting, and some of them will even say hi after their shift when I'm on the balcony of the rental around 9pm when the restaurant closes. After that, I relax with a nice red wine from the Wine Co downstairs and take in the quiet, peaceful atmosphere of the ocean breeze and the sound of the sea. 10/10 (I took a pic of the loaded potato after I ate half because it was calling my name!) DON'T FORGET THE RANCH!

    Bread lettuce tomato and avocado

They gave a new meaning to a BLTA, BREAD, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. This was a sad excuse for a $15 sandwich. To be honest, not the slightest clue why a chef would even be ok with putting this out to eat. They literally gave me one strip of bacon and chopped it up to make it seem like it was more. Embarrassing!

    Fish and Chips $18.99
    Jules K.

We ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni and basil, fish n chips, and calamari and chips. The total was about $60 so it wasn't cheap. Waited about 20 mins after ordering for the food to be ready. The pizza was aight. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either, just mediocre. The fish and chips and calamari were actually pretty good but the fries were soggy. We didn't touch the fries and ate the fish and calamari. $18.99 for fish and $18.99 for calamari was a bit steep. We likely won't be getting this again but if we did the fish and calamari were decent, just soggy fries. Wish they had these ala carte.

Pulled out the chicken to save the salad.

Possibly, the worst chicken I have ever witnessed formy chickenCesarsalad. I tried to eat one piece and almost choked as it was unbearable and dry. I've had it before and it was excellent. Salad part is still good, but our dogs turned a nose to the chicken.

The way it works is you order at the bar, and then they will take down your phone number to text when your order is ready. However, it seemed like they were more using the loud speaker because I didn't receive the text until 9:57pm that night. My order was ready at 6:53, so we were looking at about a 23 minute wait - which I think is fair given how busy it was. The food itself was just okay to me. I didn't think it was anything to write home about, but that could be because I had some really great tri tip at the SLO Farmer's Market the day before. However, I will say, I really liked this place for the environment. There was live music, and a lot of table and chairs to just look out at the water and just enjoy the views. It was super family friendly, and I found it to be really enjoyable to just sit and hang out. I did find it odd that they close early (8pm) on a Friday night. At 7:59pm, the employees will come up to you to let you know that they close at 8pm, so it seems like they are strict about that.

Was a little thrown off by only one slice of bread being toasted, but it didn't change the overall taste. The chicken parmesan sandwich was on the specials menu, and it did not disappoint! Loved the bread roll it was on, and it was nice that they gave an extra side of marinara to dip. Out of the sides the baked beans were my favorite! Super tasty with bits of bacon. Mac and cheese and cole slaw were both solid. The banana pudding was also amazing! Super fresh and was a generous portion. Will be back!

Very warm, welcoming and professional staff. It was busy and the cashier/waitress handled taking orders, delivering food to tables and kept the customers informed that she would be with them soon and all with a smile. The chicken tenders are tasty, tender and a nice size. Good sauces too. Biscuits are mini biscuits, tasty but expensive for what you get. I would prefer to just pay for a regular size biscuit instead of $10 for 6 mini one-bite biscuits. My main gripe were with the wings. They are a nice size, but not tender and cooked with too much batter. You have to cut into them to take the batter off or else you get a mouthful of batter. Also, the meat itself is not seasoned. If they could improve the wings it would be a much better product. So for now, we'll stick to the tenders.

We were sorry to see that location close down and extend our sympathies to Dallas (Owner) at having to close that location down (good help is so hard to find). Regardless, it won't keep us away from Brooks...cause the food is still "bangin". Yesterday's order was to go...we always ate "in" at the SLO location (just a "nicer ambiance") but always "take out" from Pismo (not thrilled with the fact that there is an added "take out fee" for this on your bill). Jaxon was our Order/Cashier associate on this occasion. He was personable in service and knowledgeable with regard to menu offerings. The restaurant wasn't as busy as I expected at 7PM but it took "a bit" to get the order out. Nevertheless..it was "on the money accurate" (exactly what we ordered/wanted) and that in my opinion...is worth waiting for. Our order : 2X Black and Blue Salads (4/5...yummy) and a Crispy Chicken Combo with Tater Tots (5/5...delicious). I had a "Combo Coupon" ($10 Combo instead of regular price), but still the bill was basically $43 dollars. Somewhat of a "value factor" because with a salad each, we were able to share the Crispy Chicken and were completely satisfied with our meal. Dallas (Owner) was already gone for the day, so we missed saying "hi". In this Yelper's opinion...on this "take-out" occasion because the food is still really "bussin", Brooks Burgers in Pismo Beach truly earned this 4 Star review.

We read reviews. We looked at the menu online, then we walked from our hotel to the restaurant, planning to order a tri tip sandwich and chicken nachos, which were advertised as having either fried chicken or pulled chicken options. When we arrived, we were informed that they were out of both pulled chicken and tri tip. Not to fear, I told the clerk that we would have he nachos with friend chicken. Alas, they don't sell fried chicken anymore. I asked her what proteins they DID have. Ribs and pork loin, deli sliced were the only options. I asked if the nachos could be made with pork. They could. We ordered that and ribs. First, the good: the homemade potato chips are excellent. The BBQ sauce isn't bad. Now that we are done with that, down to the reality of the situation. I should have known better. We had been staying in a hotel not a hundred yards away for two days and hadn't smelled any smoke or BBQ. When we got back to our hotel room, we opened the boxes. Plating was attractive. The chips are good. A small side note. There is a gas station near my parents' house (North Fork Minit Mart if you are ever interested in visiting the geographic center of California) that purchases pre-seasoned ribs from Costco and cooks them in a crock pot full of sauce. If you like the ribs at this place, you will LOVE those ones. There was no smoke, no smoke ring, no evidence of BBQ at all. The name of the place is "savory smoke"... but the food is neither savory nor smokey. Thr ribs were tough, flavorless and stringy. Even a little salt would have helped. The rub was strale and "muddy". I'm not one who wants ribs to actually fall off the bone, but these you couldn't even get off the bone. The chips were good. The "nachos" were the chips (which are good), covered in canned cheese, flavorless baked pork loin in this case and onions. The onions and the chips stole the show. The chips are good. Incidentally, there is a bar next door that seemed steadily busy. My recommendation is that "savory smoke" give up the facade that they are in any way a BBQ join, because they simply aren't, knock down the wall to let the bar expand, and simply make chips for the bar patrons. The meat was trash. Thr chips were good. This place should be ashamed of itself.
