This was one of the few places near our hotel that was open. Placed our order online, estimated pick up time was 15 minutes later, however it was not ready at the time stated, and we ended up waiting another 10 minutes or so. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was uncomfortably warm inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At the ordering counter, there was a warmer with pizza slices on display & they looked old and dry...not good signs :( Once we got back to the hotel, realized that the dessert we ordered was missing; decided it wasn't worth the hassle to drive back or complain. The appetizers (hot wings and stuffed jalapeños) were good, but the pizza (kitchen sink) was "mid" as my son kept saying. It had plenty of toppings: red sauce, three cheeses, pepperoni, salami, Italian sausage, Linguicia, sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions, and black olives, but seemed a bit undercooked. It was also sliced oddly, with some very small thin pieces and large slices. Our hotel room had a full kitchen, and we were able to pop the pizza in the oven. It was better after baking it a bit more.

This is always a go to when we are visiting Avila. The service differs every time we go. For the most part, they are friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We don't stay for the ambiance because there really isn't any. People are in and out and it gets crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We prefer taking our food to the beach or going back to the hotel room. As for the food, my favorite is the calamari. This is the only place I go for calamari and if they ever stop serving it, I honestly probably wouldn't come back. Fish and chips are good with their tartar sauce. Pizza is okay- we got the pepperoni. Wings were pretty good. Clam chowder was flavorless. All in all, I recommend this place!

This a great spot to stop in for a bite to eat, whole pizzas or slices of pizzas available . Slices of pizza are $5 each and choices are cheese or pepperoni only. We ordered one slice of each for lunch, both were big slices that filled us up! Hot, fresh and cheesy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's only three tables inside to sit at, but also a few outdoor counter seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Most people seem to order take out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We loved the clam chowder and the pizza is very good! Sometimes they are inconsistent with their quality, but you can't beat their location. We got their clam chowder and walked the half block to the beach to enjoy wave watching while eating. Highly recommend getting your food to go so you have this experience!

This place is small, but has great subs! The bread is soft and toasty. The sandwich was packed with flavor and the fries were seasoned perfectly and were crunchy! I haven't tried anything else on this menu, but this is a great spot for lunch at Avila Beach.

Pepperoni, looks good but everything stayed in the box when we tried to take pieces out.

Service was fine if slightly underwhelming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was ultra casual and subdued.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can not order a pizza with toppings on one half and different toppings on the other half. So we had to order two pizzas. Vegetable pizza was very good and well cooked. We had ordered a pepperoni as the second pizza but they made a cheese pizza on accident. They had us keep the cheese pizza and remade the pepperoni which took another ten mins, which was a minor inconvenience. The pepperoni fell apart as we removed each piece. Not sure if that was bc they tried to cook it too fast or...tasted fine but nothing special. Pricing is what you'd expect for a beach town pizzeria I just would've expected better overall flavor and quality. Would eat this pizza again.

Loaded Potato

The best pizza near the beach! I've been coming here for over 8 years and I always stop here for a nice, delicious pie. The Loaded Potato and the Pulled Pork are top shelf! Fish and chips, Calamari, and the sandos are to die for. I usually stay at the vacation rentals next door to them, so its just an easy walk down the stairs when I make my order. The staff is friendly and inviting, and some of them will even say hi after their shift when I'm on the balcony of the rental around 9pm when the restaurant closes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After that, I relax with a nice red wine from the Wine Co downstairs and take in the quiet, peaceful atmosphere of the ocean breeze and the sound of the sea.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10/10 (I took a pic of the loaded potato after I ate half because it was calling my name!) DON'T FORGET THE RANCH!

Fish and Chips $18.99
Jules K.

We ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni and basil, fish n chips, and calamari and chips. The total was about $60 so it wasn't cheap. Waited about 20 mins after ordering for the food to be ready. The pizza was aight. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either, just mediocre. The fish and chips and calamari were actually pretty good but the fries were soggy. We didn't touch the fries and ate the fish and calamari. $18.99 for fish and $18.99 for calamari was a bit steep. We likely won't be getting this again but if we did the fish and calamari were decent, just soggy fries. Wish they had these ala carte.

Bread lettuce tomato and avocado
Matthew G.

They gave a new meaning to a BLTA, BREAD, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. This was a sad excuse for a $15 sandwich. To be honest, not the slightest clue why a chef would even be ok with putting this out to eat. They literally gave me one strip of bacon and chopped it up to make it seem like it was more. Embarrassing!

We had their Maui Wowie pizza tonight. It was delicious. When we visit Avila Beach we always make it a point to get in a pizza meal.

Ask the Community - Mission Pizza

They said it will take 20 min but we waited about an hour to get pizza. Do they forget our order??? I will not coming back here again.

I hope this is at least the second time this has happened to you at this place because I think it is unfair to be ready to blast them on yelp for the only time it has happened. Did you at least check with them after 20 mins? Was it crazy busy that…

While staying in Pismo with family, they wanted to take us to their favorite Italian restaurant and…read morewe chose to have dinner in the Cucina...they have another location right next door, which isn't as "fancy" as their sit down place. Tables covered with white linen as well as linen napkins, stepping up the ambiance. Our server, Maricella, was great, friendly, and very attentive. We started with their Caesar salad, which is made with fresh, largely torn romaine lettuce and covered with both grated and shaved parmesan cheese. There were a few crutons scattered and we opted to add anchovies to our salad. I also asked for extra dressing because typically salads don't come with much and I'm a dressing gal! Ok, so the salad itself was great and fresh and the anchovies were good and not greasy or fishy tasting. The dressing was an issue and I really didn't care for it. Wife said it was "ok" but we've had way better dressing elsewhere. She chose the Ravioli di Zucca, which was a butternut squash filled ravioli with a sage and parmesan cheese sauce. I thought it was a bit sweet but she liked it. I had the Linguine Vongole, which came with a housemade pasta that was more like a thick spaghetti noodle as opposed to the typical flat linguine noodle. The bowl was full of clams; found some to be a bit tough and overall I think the sauce could use a ton more lemon flavor! It was good but family had ordered the Nonna's Meatballs and that's where I would go! Something with their incredible marinara sauce because it is the bomb! Such a great balance of tang and sweet and just good flavor. I also want to talk about the bread and dip they serve at the beginning of the meal...oh my gosh! The bread is sliced super thin with a soft inside and that wonderful tuggy outter crust. The dip is a garlic (lots of it!) and olive oil mix that you can spread on the bread...ok, we ate a lot of this! Daughter also ordered the brussels sprouts, which were roasted to perfection and topped with pecans, goat cheese, and a honey Dijon vinaigrette. These were some of the best sprouts I've had! We shared the Spumoni for dessert, which was good and different! There was a layer of cake along with layers of chocolate, pistachio, and vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of the cherry sauce and sprinkle of mini chocolate chips. The dish is good and needs much more of that cherry sauce! Overall a good meal and next time we doing the Club instead...much less fancy and a smaller menu of offerings.

I'd heard of this "side" location on the news a few months ago...and today I had a ride down to…read morePismo for dinner. It is a very slow Tuesday evening prefect to give the place a Yelp! I walked right in and sat at the bar, there are about six large high backed booths and a few tables scattered in between. The menu is very simple; sandwiches hot or cold, salads and pizzas, and slices. The bar looks pretty friendly, I wouldn't call it a neighborhood dive but certainly a great "date" spot. Looks like a well stocked deli case with stuff and a few shelves with other goodies for eating. I ordered the Hot Italian Chop Sando $16, basically a heaping of the Italian chop salad on toasted bread. It was good, could do with more of the italian meats dressing flavor was good. I had to check out the deli case to find my desert, looking real pretty was a genuine carrot cake. Three thinish layers with butter cream frosting which was not overpowering sweet. $10 okay that makes the cake worth about $100, meaning it was a thin slice. Both were really just enough, portion control is a new behavior for me... I'll be back for some pizza, maybe bring a date too. Always top quality in their products created and served in their locations, I've never been unhappy. Thanks, Foodguy-martin

We were looking for a pizza joint that we could watch the World Cup. The information station on…read morethe pier recommended this place. BEST RECOMMENDATION It's a little off the beach path but well worth it. They had many big screens with the game playing. The server tried to change the language from Spanish to English but no success. Has to change the channel but it was fine. We had the combo pizza with a pound of medium wings. The wings were served with enough crisp and just enough sauce. They were really tasty. The pizza was made with fresh ingredients and the crust was perfect. Not greasy. We took leftover pieces back. We would be back when visiting Pismo. Very low key, good vibe and efficient with a smile service. Highly recommend

You've heard my driving someone somewhere story... 10:40…read morethis lovely evening in Pismo, just dropped a flight crew at the hotel and I was done. Hum late dinner or early snack? There was Me & Ed's, its Saturday night they gotta still be open and there was my parking place. So I went over and looked in, ah couple folks still sittin' around. Ok looks decent enough and in I strolled. I had a look about, ok guess I order here at the counter. Menus were there a the counter and hanging above too. I was pleasantly greeted and I asked if they were still cooking? Defiantly a Pizza Night, the "personal size" was too small. I ordered a small pie 12", Pepperoni and black olives please. Thin crust? yes he said our original pizza is on a thin crust, perfect. I grabbed a cup for soda and helped myself. I sat and caught my breath, thinking about I don't what when the pie arrived, nice. Looked great, good toppings coverage, cooked just right, and friggin hot. You know tearing the slices apart is gonna be stinging hot and the first bite will melt your mouth...here goes. Perfect, great melt on the cheese, good flavor on the sauce. Top Notch Mate. They served the pizza to me in a pizza box so I knew my time here was limited. Nevertheless I scarfed halve of it and literally had the remaining for breakfast. [ my trick to reheat pizza is to throw it into a large fry pan and cover it, low heat.] I don't eat pizza or pasta that much these days (carbs) but I'd be back here for another pie anytime I'm in the neighborhood. Thanks guys dinner was great! Foodguy-Martin
