They took the time to thoroughly clean the condenser and ran multiple tests on the attic unit to make sure everything was operating as it should. What really stood out was how they walked me through the entire process at the end, showing photos and explaining each step. It gave me a lot of confidence in their work and attention to detail. I'm very happy with this company and would highly recommend them.

My AC condensation pipe was completely backed up and needed to be flushed. Their tech arrived on time and seemed very professional, spending about an hour and a half working on the unit and inspecting everything inside and out. However, he couldn't find where the evaporator line exited the house. His solution? Install an external pump and run a whole new drain line. The rough estimate for that was, well, a hell of a lot more than the $15 fee they charged me just to come out and take a look. When he left, I still had the exact same broken AC, was stressing over an exorbitant bill to fix it, and somehow found out I'd been signed up for a $15-a-month service plan that entitled me to another check-up in six months just in time for winter. Hoping to just get it resolved, I reached out to Service Wizard via Yelp later that evening to see if they could come back today to do the work the tech recommended. I never got a response. Frustrated, I called a different AC company. They actually answered the phone, sent technicians out right on time today, and those guys spent **five minutes** at my house before finding the external line, repairing it, and flushing my system. Problem completely solved in under five minutes, and the fee was incredibly cheap compared to the massive quote I got from Service Wizard. I will definitely be canceling my $15-a-month contract with Service Wizard and won't be recommending them going forward. Save yourself the headache and call someone else!

From my initial interaction with the office representatives (Taylor, Dave Sr., and Dave Jr.) to the technicians who came out to my home (Nick, Jackie, and John Paul), the level of professionalism and care was outstanding. The team provided an in-depth assessment and diagnostic of all identified issues. Just as importantly, they took the time to clearly explain areas that were not a concern and documented a thorough review outlining why those aspects of the home were in good condition, information that will be extremely valuable for future home inspections or potential buyers. Each team member was knowledgeable, responsive, and thorough in addressing my concerns, making what could have been a stressful situation feel manageable and well-handled. When people speak of organizations that deliver top-tier service, this is exactly the kind of company they mean. AirCo has earned my trust and will be my first call for any future needs.

He charged $675 to fill coolant and run a leakage test when he knew there was a 90% chance beforehand my evaporator coil was leaking and it would not be worth replacing the evaporator coil for $4500. He only offered a $675 credit towards a new system after I complained. 2. When I texted him a question about the new system quotes last year, he ghosted. Yet he emailed me four days later asking if I was ready to purchase a $17k system. Four days to decide on a $17k system without answering questions or receive other bids is not enough time. He cares more about making the commission than answering questions. 3. Jon Paul kept pushing the top of the line variable Daikin for $17k. Yet Shields AC & Heating in Lockhart said the DH7VSA compressor has a lot of firmware and software bugs communicating with the thermostat. Shields said it's not worth all the rebates and incentives. 4. Airco only offers a three year labor warranty through Airco. Yet they do not tell you that Daikin and Goodman offer an extended ten year labor warranty through Asure for $850. Daikin owns Goodman. 5. Jon Paul's quote did not include new return and supply plenum, unless he didn't specify. He only mentioned spraying the existing supply plenum with mold killer. 6. Jon Paul did not suggest moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic to reduce static pressure. Three other companies suggested moving the entire system. 7. When I asked Jon Paul what the difference was between the $17k variable Daikin and $15k variable Daikin, his response was, "More features and stuff." I need someone more articulate. 8. Jon Paul did not run a Manual J test. Ultimately, we ended up paying $12.1k with Jurnee Mechanical for a variable Goodman GXV6S condenser which included new return and supply plenum, moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic, 10 year extended labor warranty through Trinity, free maintenance for two years, and Reme Halo UV light.

Philip is great and is a fantastic option if you're looking for a local AC guy. He's experienced,…read moreknowledgeable, professional, honest. It's his business and you always interact with him directly. He gives you his cell phone number and patiently answers all your questions as needed. He does the scheduling and he's the one that comes to do the work. When working (I had a cooling check done), he made sure to explain everything about my particular cooling system to me and took the time to answer any questions I had. It's obvious that he just wants to do good work and leave the customer happy. He's not looking to make more money than he's reasonably owed. When looking for an AC tech to check my cooling system, I briefly chatted with a bigger company who gave me inflated pricing for simple maintenance (they were also oddly ambiguous about contingency pricing). Philip was straightforward when we first spoke and gave me all his pricing, including any potential add-ons (super dirty coils, etc.). It was an easy choice. His prices are very reasonable. It was $80 for a cooling check (incl. a light condenser coil cleaning) and $60-$70 for a heating check (in April of this year, obviously prices are subject to change based on economical considerations). The only problem is he's busy! Since it's just him, he's booked way out in advance for maintenance. He does always leave openings for emergencies so don't hesitate to reach out to him. It's a bit old school so you've got to pick up the phone and call (no online scheduling or Yelp quotes or anything). I also paid by personal check (forget what other payment options were available). Thanks, Philip!

The technician returned the next day and, instead of standing by the original repair, blamed the attic's humidity and tried to squeeze another $300 out of me. After charging me nearly $600 the day before, they wanted even more money for a problem they clearly failed to fix the first time. Eventually, the technician repaired it again at no charge. Unfortunately, that "repair" was just as worthless as the first one. I also requested an itemized receipt so I could submit the repair for warranty reimbursement. They never sent it. No follow-up. No professionalism. No accountability. Now, only one week later, my AC is out AGAIN. So, to recap: * Nearly $600 spent. * AC failed within 30 minutes. * Attempted upsell for another $300. * Failed to provide the requested documentation. * AC failed again a week later. This company took my money, failed to properly diagnose or repair the issue, tried to charge me more when their repair didn't work, and then disappeared when I needed paperwork. If you enjoy wasting money, sweating, and dealing with excuses instead of solutions, then Honest Air Conditioning is the company for you. Otherwise, save yourself the frustration and call another company.

I was looking to replace my entire AC system which is why it's important to find the best in the business and rated the best. It's also important to find more than one 5* business so you can get a better picture and quotes for such an expensive endeavor which I found helpful. If you're going to go all the way with such an expense, it's best to educate yourself as much as possible, and there's lots of YouTube videos on AC repair and replacement which you should watch prior to making that decision. You really need to be an informed and educated customer or you might find yourself with an inferior or wrong system. I found that certain AC companies want the steer you to certain brands they represent, so you may wish to decide on a brand first. I found that the Carrier Infiniti system with its very high seer rating and variable speed was the perfect choice. More details on this system in the photos below. If you live in a two-story house like mine, you can expect the price to be much greater due to the fact that you have dampeners which will need to be fixed or replaced which greatly adds to the bill. As for my AC, it was over 20 years old, but still chugging along. However, I knew there was going to be new mandates in 2025 which would greatly add to the expense of AC replacement such as a new refrigerant which is slightly flammable called Puranovance. I replaced my old R22 compressor with the new R-410a which is still readily available, but will eventually be phased out many years from now. I also mistakenly thought you'd get a good deal by replacing it during the cool months, but apparently a lot of people were doing what I was doing so no break in the price. As a matter fact, the date of manufacture of my new Infiniti compressor was only just a couple weeks old before it was installed. After some back-and-forth on pricing, we finally decided on a date of installation. Carl and his crew showed up and had everything installed within six hours and hauled off the old units. We still needed some troubleshooting in order to dial-in the thermostats functioning properly, but everything works perfectly now and the temperature remains exactly as you set it throughout the house. Both the compressor and the blower motor are incredibly quiet. Since I knew I needed this replacement at some point, I had enough money in the bank to cut a check for the job. When you sign up for Carl's service, you get Carl in the equation. Check out the photos below which show you the equipment, specs and the pricing. Update: After 2 weeks the plenum did separate, but I was able to use foil tape to close up the 8" gap. Personally, I think a 30 day check up would be a good idea not just for Carl, but anyone who gets this kind of installation from whatever company you choose.
