I've always loved Mission Taco. The food is great, price is awesome and their house hot sauce is delicious. Unfortunately they refuse to provide tap water saying they don't have a filter so they only sell water. It's illegal to refuse free tap water to a guest at restaurants in Texas. My toddler needed water and they said the only option is to purchase a bottle. That's horrible service and goes against Texas law. Not only that but they now charge for hot sauce. Making the reasons to come back now seem more unlikely.

Had the lunch burrito plate, pretty good. It did not disappoint. Prices are solid for the amount of food you get. I got a pretty large portion. I would not mind eating here again.

Finally decided to give them a try and to my surprise I get a taco with old lettuce..yes it's minor however it shows that they do not rotate out old products. Was looking forward to this Taco. Sadly disappointed

Large assortment of hot sauce on the counter

The service was extremely fast. Less than a couple of minutes I had my taco basket in a bag and ready to go. The taste of a tacos was average at best. They were very Bland and really didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. The good thing about this place is the huge variety of hot sauce on the counter which is great to drown out the taste of their mediocre tacos. This place is extremely affordable. 6 bucks will get you 5 tacos with rice and beans if you want to eat it. It's a toss-up for me. There are even cheaper on Tuesdays so if you want to try it but you aren't sure if you're going to like it go on that day because of the money you lose won't be as much. Would I come back here? No. I'm willing to pay a little bit more for tasty food. I won't go anywhere just for their hot sauce.

Came in with an open mind, but the food was bland and flavorless. Found out the owners are caucasian soooooo makes sense

Some of the best hot sauce ive ever tasted. Its no joke! Only a couple drops per taco!
Erick K.

Tacos are cheap and good. It's worth the extra change to make them soft shell deluxe. Take a few drips from a different hot sauce offered per taco and you'll feel like you've had a brand new taco each time. Got to warn you on the heat level though, some are a bit over the top. Also, has the best Hot sauce display for purchase in the area. Jalapeno poppers are quite tasty as well.

It was a good 10 minutes before the hostess walked by and I was able to ask her where our server was. She responded quickly and we had a server a few minutes later. As a non alcohol drinker I was happy to see a few mocktails but would like to have seen at least a couple of beer options as well. I settled for ice tea as my options were limited. As we looked around the place it was really interesting to see the artwork and decorative interior, and the whole place had a very comfortable atmosphere. When the food arrived, pretty fast I might say, it was delicious! I enjoyed our experience and will be sharing it with others. If we had a Chuys in our area I would go back, and if you happen to be in Harker Heights Texas stop in a give it a try.

It was comfortable and relaxing despite how busy it was. The food came out fast and hot. I had the Baja grilled shrimp tacos that came with Spanish rice and refried beans. So nice to see that a business has finally taken root at this corner. Had the tacos this morning;…read morethe egg and chorizo, Machaca and egg, and Chicharron and bean. The flavors were spot on for the taco fillings, however the fact that the tortillas were undercooked was a real downer. We cannot overstate the importance of a properly cooked tortilla and how it makes or breaks the taco experience. ***On another note, and we really hope that management or the owner will read this comment. Please be mindful of your use of cleaning products. Nothing ruins the flavor of good food like the taste of Fabuloso in your mouth. This is not to throw shade on this business, but when you can taste a cleaning product in your food, this is not a good sign. Caution must be exercised when cleaning places where tortillas are stored, bags or supplies and containers that will be used for carry out food. Fabuloso and similar products like it contain very strong chemicals that will transfer over to anything that is permeable ruining your dining out experience.

My mother and I visited Taqueria for the first time, and unfortunately the experience was…read moredisappointing, not because of the food, but because of the lack of professionalism, training, and customer service. Our server was friendly but clearly inexperienced and unfamiliar with the menu. She did not know the house tequila, could not recommend the restaurant's most popular entrée, and was not old enough to serve alcoholic beverages. To her credit, she tried to get answers by asking the bartender. When I asked about the restaurant's top-selling entrée, the server did not know. The bartender, who also appeared to be the manager, recommended the mini tacos, which I ordered along with steak fajitas. The food took quite a while to arrive despite the restaurant being relatively slow, and my second margarita was also significantly delayed. The real issue occurred when I received the check. My first margarita was priced under $6, while my second margarita, which was essentially the same drink, was charged at nearly double the price. When I asked about the difference, I was told the first drink was during Happy Hour and the second was not. That explanation made sense, and I had no issue with it. However, I was also charged for extra tortillas. The server had never informed me there would be an additional charge. When I politely asked about it, the bartender/manager became defensive and argumentative. He repeatedly stated that I should have known extra items were not free. I explained that I had looked at the menu and did not see a tortilla charge listed anywhere and asked him to show me where the charge was disclosed. He searched the menu himself but could not find a listed price. At that point, the server apologized and admitted she should have informed me of the additional charge. Instead of using the situation as a teaching moment, the bartender/manager waved off her apology and, in front of both me and the server, stated, "He's just trying to get something for nothing." That comment was insulting, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. The issue was never about the $2 charge. It was about transparency, communication, and customer service. As someone who works in the Food & Beverage industry, I viewed it as a simple opportunity to explain the charge, acknowledge the communication breakdown, and coach a young employee. Instead, I was treated as if I were trying to scam the restaurant over two dollars. As an African-American customer, hearing a manager make a statement that I was "trying to get something for nothing" while dismissing a legitimate concern felt particularly offensive and carried implications that made the interaction even more troubling. Whether intentional or not, the comment reflected a lack of respect and professionalism that no guest should experience. The server was polite and appeared willing to learn. My frustration is not with her. It is with a manager who chose confrontation over customer service, disrespect over resolution, and criticism over coaching. Restaurants earn their reputation through word of mouth, and unfortunately this experience left me feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and highly unlikely to ever return.
