Discovered Mister after wandering through Yaletown after an uninspiring late lunch of ramen (2/19/18). The Homie selected Hong Kong Ice Tea and I picked Dark Chocolate ($7 each, in cups). Definitely the final product was rendered dense and smooth with the addition of liquid nitrogen and mixed in a stand mixer. Generous servings provided. Yes, it was barely above the freezing mark but Mister's final product was spot on delicious! We also got to people watch passersby. Vancouverites are very chic and stylish. We got here at 930pm, and there's still a big lineup since the store closes at 10pm. As an ice cream lover, this place is like heaven. They make their ice cream fresh with liquid nitrogen which is one of their selling point. But they also have ice cream sandwiches and creme brûlée, which are nice additions. S'mores bar was also on the menu of that night, but it was sold out when we got there, so we ordered three cones of ice cream. Irish coffee, uji match and double Oreo. My favorite out of three is uji matcha, which reminded me of the matcha ice cream in Japan, I just love the rich matcha powder taste. However, I have to say the ice cream cones have big portions, the double Oreo is like a meal on it's own because it has real Oreo crumbles in it! So if you have a big dinner, you can actually share it with someone and still be satisfied. I will have to go back to try other flavors and it's definitely a must try in town! read more

My buddy G and I walked past this store last night around 9 ish, and we decided to go here after noticing a line up. I'd have to say Mister is like fancy icecream using nitrogen freshly made before your eyes. I personally think they got cool concept of the icecream especially if you get Lavender Brulee. So G had Double Oreo ($7) and I had Lavender Brulee ($8) as we were both blown away by the taste and freshness. There was minimal flavour of lavender in my icecream and I tried sniffing ice cream a bit as well lol. Staff used blowtorch to decorate my ice cream like Caramel Brulee. Double Oreo was also good, but I personally liked Lavender Brulee better! Because of steep pricing I may go somewhere else cheaper I think. FYI staff will ask for your name after placing an order. Such a great and unique ice cream shop! I took the whole family and everyone got something different and absolutely loved it! Although you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, hand I known you could get an ice cream sandwich with the creme brûlée sugar I would have gone with that cause it's the perfect combination of everything great on the menu. The line was out the door last night at Mister. I didn't know what to expect, thinking it was just an ice cream shop. However, Mister is not like any ice cream place I've ever been to before. Mister is a small, liquid nitrogen ice cream shop in Yaletown. When you enter the store, the walkway is very narrow and there's not a lot of space for you to enjoy your ice cream. There is a long table with four seats, but it becomes problematic when the place gets crowded. I went on a Sunday afternoon at around 3:14pm with family and relatives, and it was crowded and squishy. I ordered the Crème Brûlee ($8.00) and my younger sister ordered the Strawberry Mint ($8.00), which I found to be pretty pricey. While we waited, we could see the process of the staffs making our liquid nitrogen ice cream right in front of us. It was REALLY cool when they made the Crème Brûlee!! When we received our ice cream, we ate it outside because it was spacious. The Crème Brûlee ice cream was SO AMAZING! A MUST GET!! My favorite part was the crispy, burnt caramelized sugar layer. It was very flavorful, mouth-watering, and the ice cream was not too sweet. The Strawberry Mint ice cream was good, but you can't really taste the mint. WOW this place is good. Adele came here for ice cream so it makes this place a must try. It's also close to the Marinaside Pokestop. Got the Creme Brulee (which is the one that Adele tried). The Creme Brulee is pretty good. The ice cream doesn't have a super strong flavor to it but it was definitely very smooth. The portion isn't big either. The Creme Brulee is $8 but I guess that is the going price for nitrogen ice cream. Seating is very limited. There are 4 stools. right in front of the window. The kitchen is bigger than the available standing and sitting area for customers. Place is very small. Its easy to find because the place is so full of people. dont really understand what all the hype is about. this place is nothing special. ice cream is average at most. overpriced to high heavens. and most of all...too sweet!! we tried the smores ice cream bar & the Creme brulee! the smores bar was huge. encased in a chocolate graham cracker is a chink of nitrogen infused chocolate ice cream. outside, what looks to be marshmallow but is actually cream is charred with a blow torch for colour and effect. so dont expect any gooey and silky marshmallow textures...the graham cracker held the ice cream nice and tight. the chocolate ice cream inside was simply too sweet. but it wasnt smooth or velvety like a gelato or anywhere close to earnest or rain or shine. the creme brulee ice cream was a complete bust. the actual ice cream was simply ordinary vanilla ice cream. what made it to become creme brulee-ish was the thin coating of caramelized sugar on top then charred with a blow torch. looks nice and instagram worthy, but once you try it, meh! the charred sugar provided a very bitter taste to the mouth that the ice cream wasnt able to mask. i did not find it good at all! service was quick and efficient though. everybody worked in perfect unison to cope up with the line. overpriced and over-rated! i apologize but its the truth! only good advantage to it is that the ice cream stays intact longer ...other than that, it has no profound effect or improvement on the taste. cheers! read more

Treat yourself and get the s'mores bar here - it's extremely tasty, perhaps one of the best s'mores-flavoured desserts I've had in town! Soft slightly crisped marshmallow outside a nice chocolate shell is almost to be expected, but inside the shell are two chewy layers of ground crackers and a whole bunch of chocolate ice cream! I loved it. I also tried a bit of the matcha, and it was great, smooth and not to sweet. Having sampled a few others, that's actually a theme here - all the ice creams I tried were smooth and the flavours really stood on their own, without being drowned in sweetness as is too often the case at dessert shops. Decided to finally try Mister after eating lunch at Meet and lemme tell you, it was fantastic. I had half the Smores bar, honestly I dont understand how anyone could finish the whole one, but hey do you! It was one of the most delicious desserts I've ever had in my life. . It's an ice cream sandwich with chocolate ice cream in the middle, graham cracker on the outside, dipped in chocolate, dusted in graham crumbs then covered in marshmallow and bruleed. It's a work of art. Its hours later and I'm still smiling thinking about it My friend had the vegan chocolate ice cream and it was quite tasty also. It's made with coconut and cashew cream. Mister was literally right in front of me and I barely noticed it the first time I walked by! Their menu is very small but the flavors are bomb! Thai Milk Tea This really tasted like thai milk tea, not as strong as how restaurants would make it but the flavor is there. I'd get this if the chocolate isnt good. Strawberry Mint Mint is more powerful than strawberry. Didn't really enjoy this as much as the other two I tried. But someone who wants something light would probably like this. Dark Chocolate Delicious! Im not a fan of dark chocolate but man, this is delicious. This is for people who love chocolate. I decided to try Mister, since my friend had recommended their creme brulee. Mister is a quite "aesthetic" shop. It is a completely open kitchen: at the front is their row of three stand mixers and the side their giant tubs of liquid nitrogen. Seeing their work in process is pretty fascinating and attractive. The ice cream gets whipped first and then liquid nitrogen js added; then the "smoke" comes out the mixer bowl, and around and under the counter. However, I did find it to be a little tight around the counter and the bar that overlooks the patio. Their menu is simple, with not too many choices. I got the creme brulee and coconut ash. Creme Brulee - 6/10 I had high expectations when they torched the layer of sugar. But I figured that was more for someone who needed a good food photo for their pleasure. I thought the ice cream, although good looking, was mild in flavor, almost with no distinctive taste of anything. It was just very cold and creamy. I didn't really taste any hint of creme brulee. Coconut Ash - 7/10 Again, a good looking ice cream (even in a cup), but this was as tasteless as, if not more than, the creme brulee. I could taste a very faint hint of coconut in my first bite, but after that, it was just creamy and nothing else, except that it tainted my teeth black for awhile.
