There is a big parking lot- but be careful, the driveway to get in is really narrow and only one car fits through at a time. There is no admission fee and it is free to walk around. You also don't need reservations. There is cornhole, picnic tables to sit at, a gift shop with local good slike honey and apples, a coffee truck, a lemonade truck and popcorn for sale. There are pumpkins everywhere of different shapes and sizes available for purchase in addition to gourds and mums. We bought a mum and it was $15. There are plenty of photo opportunities and a garden to walk around in. There is also a lot of space for kids to run around in. For an additional fee, there is a wagon ride you can take that will take you to see farm animals but we didn't do this. All in all, not as many activities in my opinion as some of the other pumpkin patches around town, but I did like how close it is to town compared to some of the other pumpkin patch options and it was super cute! It's strawberry season and it has become a tradition we go strawberry picking Mother's Day weekend…read more Cherry Place has been our go to spot. It's a small family farm and they are always super nice. The strawberry fields are well maintained. It's not as large as some other places we've been, but we like that. There were a few muddy spots which was advertised and we had rain recently, but the paths were easy to walk. It was a busy day so they told us we would have to look under leaves to find the ripe berries. We still ended up with 2 lbs of berries and my daughter enjoyed. They tasted delicious, too. It was $4 per pound when we visited and they had jams and other products available. My daughter's favorite part is visiting the animals. They have some chickens and goats that are easy to get to. Sometimes they have corn out you can feed them with or you can bring some food to feed them. There's also a sink to wash hands after. Be careful with your strawberries or take them to the car first. I was taking a photo and a goat started to grab my bucket of strawberries. Lol. We haven't been to their fall event but love the smaller feel for strawberries. They post updates and info on their social media channels.

Lots of parking, no lines for food, and plenty of room to roam in the pumpkin patch. We grabbed a wagon and some clippers and found a pumpkin to cut off the vine. There are plenty of pre-cut pumpkins too if you'd rather just pick one that way (and take some cute pics). The wood-fired pizza was SO good and fairly priced. We really enjoyed the salsiccia pie, but all of them sounded delicious. And had to get a half dozen cider donuts for the road, obviously. I'm looking forward to returning when our kids are a bit older to try more of the family-friendly activities!

I've shopped at their country store a few times for good, hard-to-find items & gifts- their goat milk soap is award-winning. Went to the 2024 fall festival to play & pick pumpkins. (Writing this ahead of our upcoming festival visit and hoping for the same unique tasty apple cider slushy.) Anyway, I don't remember doing much pumpkin-picking but what stood out was the vibe-- starting with a sweet hayride in from the parking lot, through a forest, & out to a larger festival zone. Most workers were happy to be there (& it shows). We felt welcome- even tho we were there at the last event wknd & towards the very end of a hot day. Ambiance: I like that we were allowed to look and linger, shoot hoops, all kinds of stuff. Just mellow fun. (I shot hoops 'against' a little kid there with her granny- won't tell you who won.) There are several places to take selfies and pictures, & just celebrate Fall. We don't have small kids (pumpkin picking here was more for them I feel) but we had a blast enjoying all that was available with basic admission. To sum up: Played games, shopped, & visited with animals- including attempted feeding of friendly baby turkeys- which was a little tough-- long story. Loved meeting the little pony named 'Flapjack'? (Note: it wasn't roller coaster rides or turbo-charged pumpkin cannons- but that's not what we expected or wanted.) I liked that we could see other couples & many families making memories (& likely traditions) together. Looking forward to my visit on Saturday- I'll update with more pics. It takes you to where all the activities are located! They have a huge snoopy maze and a smaller maze for younger kids. We did the big maze and were done in about 40minutes. Such an awesome time! Thry do have a pumpkin patch where you are able to select from small, medium and big pumpkins. They have a variety of free games such as cornhole, sack races, board games, jenga and petty zoo! They also offer a lot more variety games with ticket purchases but even if you just go and not purchase ticket, you will still have a great time. They also have bonfire sections where you are able to reserve and then come out and bring your own snacks, food and have a great TIME! A lil context, I was looking for something to do solo and came across a "pick your own flowers" farm. But I found more than flowers. They had fields of berries, greens, honey from their hives and a selection of beautiful wildflowers. When I arrived there was a good number of moms with kids roaming the fields while pushing strollers and wagons. When I checked in they supplied me with a bucket for berries and told me which fields were open for picking. The flowers are per stem or fill a cup for $20. I filled my bucket which took about 30 minutes roaming 2 fields. The cost was a lot more than I would spend at the grocery store but now often do you get to make homemade strawberry preserves with berries you picked yourself?

The guys, Larry and Jason, love sharing their story. Their enthusiasm and excitement are infectious and their passion shows up in the carefully designed and tended farm. There are lots of blueberry bushes and different varieties of flowers that are available for picking. I didn't know there were so many varieties of blueberries, so I learned something. Each variety and where the bush is located can be a variable in the taste. They also have a big chicken coop with some very happy hens and a few very happy roosters. Great time for young and old. I wish I could be here for fig season (August and September), but that isn't going to happen for me. If you're in this area, though, you might want to make a trip here. Prices are a bit high, but when you think about what it takes for them as far as upkeep and maintenance, it's worth it. Everything is organic, sustainable , and environmentally friendly.

When I went there was also an exhibit of WW2 memorabilia. That was mostly about the life of the women from town since the men were overseas fighting the war. My family and I came here to learn and experience it all. We were fortunate to have a great guide in the docent, Brenda. Museum director and Matthews native, Bob, was also on hand to answer some questions and drop some knowledge. A great first stop on my most recent NC vacation. Next stop, Renfro's Hardware as recommended but the team at the museum.
