In response to Ross's false allegations I thought it might be a good idea to actually provide the full context. Ross you know full well that the "ignorant" couple were first in line to purchase and were in the process of setting up delivery and making payment. The only reason why you ended up being able to get away with overriding the sale was because your past relationship with the owner Misty and your sneaky way of getting the her to agree with you even after she could not provide proof of the so called rules and there was no signage to make people aware of this "rule". Also you saying that Misty checked with her employees to confirm that we did not have a right to purchase is an outright lie. Misty was told by both employees there that we were there first and were in the process of purchasing. It was because of your shady behavior and sense of entitlement that you were able to get your way. Even your wife was embarrassed by you knowing full well what you had done. My husband and I moved from NY to Palm Desert a couple weeks ago and didn't keep much furniture. It's been tough finding quality pieces that are both reasonably priced and available without having to wait weeks+ for delivery. I wish Misty's had been our first stop; it would have saved us a lot of stress and time. So many great finds here! After strking out at a few other places, we found the perfect bookshelf at a great price for a big solid wood piece. No more putting together crappy online furniture. The best consignment store in the Valley. Super organized excellent pricing. It is so easy to consign and drop off the items. Tyler, the owner, is on top of everything. A big plus is that you can check your consignment account on line anytime and when they sell an item you get an email notifying you. Super easy! Misty's staff is extremely attentive. Graciela, who always helps me is so organized, always knows who I am and helps me the minute I arrive. She is an absolute pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend Misty's if you have items you'd like to consign. The process was quick and easy. Misty came to my home to evaluate a bunch of items & promptly sent me a list of things she wanted with a proposed list price for each. I thought the amounts were very fair. The items were picked up literally the next day, and all items were on sale at the store within hours. I really liked the fact that the store now has a web site where I, as a consigner, can view my items to see which sold and when. At the first of the month, I can get a check for all items that sold and it's all super easy. Honestly I expected using a consignment store to be a hassle, but this was not the case at all. Every one of my items sold, and I couldn't be happier. It was so stress-free and I'd highly recommend this business. This is a response to a very unfair review that a very ignorant couple posted today. Everybody that has shopped at Misty's at all, knows that there is a very strict rule that has made Misty's the most respected consignment store in the Coachella Valley. The rule is: whoever pulls a ticket from an item has the right to buy it first. This couple was very rude to begin and I guess they do not know that the "employee in the velvet pants" was Misty, "the owner of the store". It is unfortunate that people like that does not know how to behave and go by the rules of an establishment and along the way insult the owner of the store by their ignorant comments. The facts were that we were present during this incident and we, as well as other customers, were shocked about the behavior of this man. This couple in fact did not make a decision to purchase these sofas when they could, they did not pull the tickets from the items when they had a chance. Misty the owner who this couple called "the employee in the velvet pants") checked with her employee and confirmed that they did not have a right to purchase these sofas and we were. We really love Misty and her store, which is regarded as the best consignment store ever because of their high ethics, professionalism, great prices, high quality and amazing customer service. read more

Mostly Mid century merchandise with frequent new items. Good pricing for buyers. Lower listing prices for sellers. The owner, Tyler, is great. The rest of the staff is bleh with "we are veeeery busy and doing you a favor to take your money" attitude. After buying some very pricey chairs a few weeks ago, I didn't get a thank you or see you again. Not even a smile. I do come by for deals if I can't find the pieces anywhere else. Misty's is truly an adventure every time i visit. There are great things to be found around every corner. I have just recently began consigning some items with Misty's. Having been a customer on the buying side in the past, i certainly appreciated the quality merchandise that was clearly marked (with great prices). I think it speaks volumes for Misty's professionalism that every item on the floor has a price tag leaving no grey (shady) areas. That certainly not the case in all consignment stores. Which, as you know, can be extremely frustrating to a customer . On the selling side, i can appreciate the pressure the staff is faced with.,..having to research a prized treasure, and then determine the price. That magic price that will satisfy the seller, provide a good value to the buyer, all in an effort to avoid having an over priced item just sitting there, collecting dust on the showroom floor that will ultimately end up frustrating the seller, and getting countless eye rolls from prospective buyers buyers. The task must be daunting! I have found that Tyler and her staff are reasonable professionals and i have come to trust their judgment and expertise. And, while it's refreshing that they don't claim to be the know it all expert that is expert on everything...they certainly have a pulse on what will sell and at what price in the palm springs market. The few times that I have felt my consigned item was worth much more, I was met with complete flexibility and respect, and the price adjustment was made (Fyi: I was right on a couple... and a couple didn't sell...I might have slightly unrealistic...Whoopsie). It is my opinion that Tyler and the entire staff are doing a GREAT job. They are extremely efficient with regards to the volume that they are processing. If you are dropping off items to consign, my advice would be to have your items pre approved, Be realistic about the sales price, and don't get butt hurt if the recommended price is lower than what you think it should be (it's not personal, its business). Remember, its in their best interest to get the most for your items as well because they will be sharing in 38% of your success. Most importantly, have fun, be kind... And enjoy the experience with empathy and grace. Life is so much better when we're smiling. read more

The pillow guy has his own business in the store and they are outstanding as well. I wasn't planning on leaving a review, but times are tough right now and people can be super critical. I will start off this review with a compliment. I have shopped at Misty's for the past decade to furnish my homes in the desert. As I live only part-time in the Coachella Valley, Misty's has become my go-to source for furniture and decorative items. I shop there often and have furnished our vacation home and several rental properties from the constantly rotating merchandise Misty somehow acquires. Usually, I am a happy camper when I leave Misty's -- having found some good deals on quality furnishings or artwork. And, usually, the employees there are polite and professional. However, on my last visit I decided to stop by the jewelry counter. I was not in the market for jewelry (I left the house determined to purchase furnishings for our newly acquired three-bedroom vacation rental), but one of the items in the case caught my eye. I stopped to take a peek and attempted to engage the clerk standing at the counter chatting with another associate. I asked a rookie question about one of the pieces (I have jewelry, but normally I don't purchase it; my husband does) and was given a snide comment in return from a woman who said her name was Stevie. After appearing disinterested for several minutes (while I was browsing) she eventually attempted to make small talk with me, but did absolutely nothing to help me learn about the jewelry I was interested in purchasing. In addition, her tone and choice of words made it clear to me that she thought I was perhaps not the "right type" of customer to purchase the item. I eventually got frustrated with her dismissive attitude and inattentiveness and decided to leave. I tried stopping at the front sales counter on my way out to share my experience with the manager on duty, but the staff was swamped and maskless (during the pandemic) so I decided to share my views here instead. I left Misty's without purchasing anything. I went to the car and called my daughter, who pointed out that because I was working at the home before arriving at Misty's I was not dressed like I could afford the jewelry I was looking at and perhaps the jewelry counter clerks got the wrong vibes from me. To test her hypothesis, I asked my daughter and her friend (two younger, hipper looking women with tattoos and piercings -- so they don't look like typical retirement village patrons) to stop by the jewelry counter at Misty's and see if they get the same treatment. They stopped by the counter and were virtually ignored. Only because they lingered at the counter did anyone pay attention to them. They attempted to engage Stevie about the same piece of jewelry and were eventually steered away from that piece to something "more appropriate". I find it difficult to understand how a management team can allow such behavior from their employees. Talking down to customers is not a sound strategy for selling high-end merchandise. And, it's a surefire way to get some negative social media exposure (like this review). It also means that disgruntled shoppers will spend their time sharing negative experiences about Misty's with others. It's a shame, really. And, it's inconvenient. I had to visit half dozen stores to furnish my vacation rental, when I should have been able to get virtually everything I needed at Misty's one stop consignment shop. But, because of the way I was treated, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I ended up here, tagging along with a friend one day as she hopped from one antique/consignment store to the next. I'm more of a near-broke thrift-shopper looking for a crazy deal, caring almost 0% about designer names and genuinely not minding a good knock-off so be aware of where I'm coming from when I write this. I am rating this for what it is - a super high end consignment store filled with many high quality, modern pieces of furniture, works of art, jewelry and even books. It was enjoyable to walk around seeing beautiful and tasteful things in abundance. If you are looking for designer things, unique things, or even the type of furniture that could double as a conversation piece, come here. They wanted $210 for a broken chair which I now realize I should have taken a picture of to put things into context. It could have been a famous piece someone might have recognized. I saw a lovely framed kimono for about $1200. Lamps I checked out were not less than $100. Just giving a general range of things. Good experience - balancing this rating with customer service, general set-up, sale options and professionalism factored in. All in all, 4 stars. read more

This is my absolute favorite consignment store. There are such great finds with reasonable pricing! I helped my dad renovate his house and we got so many amazing high-quality items from Misty's like a leather couch, bookshelf, bar stools, dining table! Then I recently moved to a new place and found so many items there I loved. The staff is amazing-ALWAYS. They are so helpful and professional. Tyler the owner is so sweet, knowledgable and a huge reason we keep coming back. It's hard to find a high-end consignment store like this one where you aren't harassed by the workers trying to get a commission. One of my favorite sources for furniture and home decor in the Desert! I call it the Goldilocks of consignment shops: Great curation of items, not too stuffy like a vintage furniture gallery, and definitely not junky like a donation based store. There's always a great flow of new items that are coming in, and I think that's attributed the store's reputation and scheduled monthly discounts. The loading dock always seems to be clamoring with new items coming in and the entrance is always jammed with sold items awaiting pickup. All the staff behind the desk at in the store have always been super friendly and they all seem to get along really well with one another, which is always great to see at any business. read more

Decent inventory however very disorganized staff and bad delivery service. I bought an outdoor set for my house in Big Bear Lake. After leaving they lost my delivery info within the hour and called me to get my details again. Then on the day of delivery the shipping company was not answering their phones and I had no way of confirming the delivery. Since delivery came extremely late I had to pay my housing manager all day just to accept a delivery that took about 20 minutes..... very frustrating. TLDR: Good inventory bad delivery. Bring a truck and take your items home yourself. read more
