    shelves of chocolates and pastries

I finally got to try one of the top-rated chocolatiers in the Cleveland area the other day. I was overwhelmed by the choices so the very kind and helpful staff offered me a sample of their most famous product, chocolate covered Italian orange peel. It was delicious but I was on a budget despite my cravings and bought a two-pack of dark chocolate covered pretzels Their chocolate is of very good quality, but the prices are very VERY high. A 4-pack of chocolate dipped apricots was $14! Don't get me started on the OUTRAGEOUS price-per-pound of their individual chocolates. I ate my chocolate pretzel pack the next day, as they melted the second I stepped outside the store and I had to put them in the freezer to harden back up. The chocolate was very high quality for sure. It had none of the bitter taste bad, cheap dark chocolate gets and the pretzel was crunchy and salty. I'm not sure if this is the best bang for your buck chocolate store in the area when buying large corporate gifts, but a nice truffle or two won't break the bank.

This shops smells delicious. Chocolate everything takes your breath away. If you have a theme check here for treats, or discuss what you want and they can make you something using one of their hundreds of candy molds. For a snack get a bag of their broken heavenly- coated chocolate pretzels. Have some Mitchell's ice cream, too.

The chocolate my daughter dropped that never came out of the box.

TLDR; rude, snobby until I was rude back. not kid friendly. Okay chocolate. First time visit, we walked in to grab some ice cream for my daughter. They have HORRIBLE service. The cashier's name was Jason (according to receipt) and he was rude from the minute he saw my daughter and me. As I was purchasing ice cream and a bag of chocolate covered pretzels, my daughter dropped a plastic box of chocolates. PLASTIC. The chocolate never came out of the box. He asked for them (as if he was going to fix it) THEN He proceeded to charge me for it (WITHOUT TELLING ME)because she dropped it. I told him that I "didn't know what they were" and that I "did not want to purchase them". He responded that I "had to". I sarcastically responded "so these are inedible now??? (they were perfectly fine, literally still in the box!!!!) I was fuming that he just went ahead and charged something to MY credit card without even telling me that I was to pay for them. UNBELIEVABLE. So I told him I didn't want the pretzels and to remove them (since those were untouched). Once I was rude back, he apologized then and talked about how "Kid" friendly it was and how he gave tours in the back. He refunded me for the pretzels and gave us the ice cream for free. Will not be back. Plenty of other chocolate places to go, although this one is so close to home. Chocolate was okay. Wasn't worth dealing with such rude customer service.

Just a small sampling of the chocolates!

This is a fun place to take out of town guests. While it is pricey, it's a cute little shop with delicious chocolates.

What have they done?? These are not Mitchell's Chocolates. These are small machine made poor knockoffs of the original. A shame

The chocolates are simply amazing. Homemade - my personal favorites are the dark chocolate turtles and dark chocolate malted milk balls!

My son and I picked up a variety of pastries to take with us. We really would have loved one of the refrigerated tortes, but we would not be going home immediately and I was concerned about that being with us on a hot July day. We'll just have to come back and try it next time. This is a very clean and organized little shop that has been around for awhile. I love these classic locally owned gems that you just don't see as much as you should. I love their unique pineapple/walnut Linzer torte. Quite tasty. Of course we tried the apple and the more traditional raspberry hazelnut too. My favorite thing we tried was hands-down the lemon bar. That buttery texture complements the tartness of the lemon perfectly. Well done, Farkas family. Can't wait til our next visit!

We ordered the Napoleon, Amaretto Square, the Gerbaud, and Apple Linzer. The Napoleon was a 10 out of 10. We are one in the car and went back for more. The texture was great. Flaky, creamy, delicious. The Amaretto Square. Was good as well. Not too sweet, beautifully made. The Amaretto flavor wasn't as good as some others I've had. Maybe it's the type of flavoring/Amaretto used. The Gerbaud was definitely a crunchier dessert. Again made beautifully and has great flavor. The Apple Linzer. Another hit. The filling and Crust were perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. Service was great. Obviously this place has been around for a very long time. They know what they are doing. Only thing I would say is that it needs a facelift. Maybe not for locals but coming from out of town the look doesn't make you want to come in. Nor does the way the pastries are show cased. It just all feels run down. Not a place I would ever visit or offer good from ordinarily if I hadn't read such great reviews before going. We all eat with our eyes first.
