I visited Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes for the first time in mid-July 2026. It was a quick in-and-out visit. Service was friendly and quick. MACARONS -- I bought 3 macarons (strawberry milkshake, salted caramel, and lavender). Each macaron cost $3.25 each and they are slightly bigger than traditional macarons. The flavours were good but slightly off from what I'm used to but I can't quite explain it. I wouldn't say they tasted artificial but it was just different or maybe it was slightly artificial in flavour. My favourite flavour was the lavender. The salted caramel was too sweet and it almost didn't feel as if it should have been a macaron flavour. I did like it though. The strawberry milkshake was good but it needed a little more strawberry flavour. Overall, Kelsey Elizabeth is a nice bakery. I heard their cookies are delicious. So far so good..... The place is really cute. Cupcakes are my favorite thing so I was excited to try this place. I got three cupcakes, the sweet potato, the sugar cookie, and the white almond.. I love that the sweet potato one had a marshmallow topping however I didn't ask, but I'm pretty sure it had walnuts or something in it. I'm not allergic just not a fan of the texture, but it was moist in the flavor was delicious. The only other one I try so far is the sugar cookie one and I will say this one through me for kind of a loop I was just expecting a sugar cookie flavor of some sort, but I'm pretty sure the top is like a sugar cookie dough which I wasn't a fan of. It gave it a greedy texture and it really doesn't give every bite flavor like a buttercream wood. I probably would never get that one again.... Possibly THE cutest bakery in the greater Cleveland area! From the moment you step into the door, there's an explosion of pink! The decor is absolutely adorable and really adds to the experience, though I wish they had more than one table. We had to take our order to go, which was a minor disappointment. The pastries are so beautiful and unique, and they change often enough to make it worth repeat visits. They are also DELICIOUS! I especially loved the shamrock shake and cookie butter macarons, and the salted caramel pretzel Guinness chocolate cupcake. Everything is well labeled which makes it easy to see what everything is without having to ask a million questions. However, the staff was very helpful with the questions we did have such as what pastries were gluten free (some macarons are, and they are clearly labeled). There are several locations across Northeast Ohio to visit Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes. I love the story of this hometown business and think they're one of the best bakeries in the area. In my opinion, one of the best parts of the bakery experience is how often they have specialty / seasonal themes. Outside of the usual (and spectacularly photogenic) Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc. occasions, Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes has also has themes like princess week, Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter, the Olympics, etc. Now, to the food. On a given day in the store, you can typically find many different kinds of cookies, cupcakes, and macarons - these are the core of the goodies that they make. They are also well known for their special occasion cakes, though I haven't had an opportunity to try one yet. The basic frosted sugar cookies they make are spectacular, and the macarons are truly special - so perfectly chewy and the rotating flavors are always a hit. I find the cupcakes, though, to disappoint - they're pretty consistently out of proportion for me - way too much frosting for the size of cupcake. One of the delightful things about coming here is that, when you order, the person helping you puts all of your selections onto a gold tray before packaging them up. It's such a nice touch and really makes you feel taken care of. It also helps me visually to hold back from ordering everything in the store ;-). Be forewarned that these are premium treats and so you'll pay more than at your average store. My son has his Orthodontist in this area, so we have always seen this cute little bakery. Today we decided to stop in and try it. I'm so glad we did. Everything we have tried has been absolutely delicious. The cupcakes are so good, the cake is so soft, and the icing is a thicker icing that is piped on, which is my favorite! They have all sorts of unique flavors such as Puppy Chow and Raspberry Lemonade, which was complete with a little straw coming out of the cupcake. The macarons are beyond good. I don't typically like these types of cookies, but these were excellent. They have just the right of "crunch" and chew. The filling is perfect for the cookies as well. I love the taste of the sweets here and the variety of sweets offered. A very cute bakery that feels inviting and fun. In addition to the sweets they also sell some cute party items. My mom and I took home cupcakes, macarons, and a birthday cake blondie. I loved the frosting on the goodies with that being my favorite part. The cupcakes I've had here have all been delicious. The macarons are definitely the best treat here. It's easy to mess up macarons so I can appreciate that the macarons here always have the perfect texture. I purchased my wedding cake from Kelsey Elizabeth for my June 26, 2021 wedding and it was the most negative experience. I received a phone call from the shop 10 days before my wedding to tell me the team had just reviewed my order (which was placed in the first week of February) and realized I selected lemon curd as my filling. The request was made that I change the filling flavor for my wedding cake with less than 2 weeks until the day of the wedding. I was obviously disappointed by both the lack of preparation and willingness to completely inconvenience a bride so close to her wedding. Through conversations with the chef at my venue and the shop, we agreed that the cake would be picked up in separate tiers with extra buttercream to pipe them together when they arrived at the venue. I attempted to call to confirm this information, but no one answers the phone at the shop. I attempted to email but received an out of office that indicated my email would not be responded to for at least 4 days. So I was once again inconvenienced by needing to step away from my workday to drive to the shop and confirm the details. During my visit in the shop, I asked for the dimensions of the tiers of the cake as requested by the chef. The store manager and baker could not determine the heights of any of the tiers and instead handed me a plastic dowel and said "this is the longest dowel you might need." Through the entire wedding cake process, I was willing to look past all of the inconveniences (not being able to reach anyone by phone, waiting days for email responses, having no delivery options available for the cake) because of the quality of the work. However, the cake we received was atrocious. It looked nothing like the Margot cake advertised on the website. There were not clean lines, one of the tiers had clearly broken and been frosted back together, another had a giant bulb coming out of the side, and the frosting was an unappetizing pale yellow color as opposed to clean white. To make matters worse, we had been gifted a crystal cake topper by a family member, which we were unable to use because everyone was nervous it would completely crush what had already proven to be a poorly baked cake. I sent this information to the shop and they told me it was my fault. We must not have kept the cake in a cold enough spot. Turns out that is a lie. That does not cause a cake to crack. It also doesn't cause icing to bulge. That happens when a cake doesn't have enough time to settle or cool. Instead of taking any responsibility, they once again put it back on the bride. I'm leaving this review in the hopes that other brides think twice about using KEC. It was my only regret from my wedding and I'll never step foot in the shop again. read more

I'd been following KEC on Instagram for a while, so I've been wanting to try it out. My mom and I took a road trip up to Ohio to check this bakery out. This location was very easy to find and there is ample parking. We got there around 11:15 on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. They have a ton of staff there to assist you quickly. Since we are from out of town, we just bought a bunch of things so we can try everything. Among the items we bought, there were their homemade oatmeal cream pies, a s'mores cookie, a cookie dough sandwich, a jumbo chocolate chip cookie with sea salt, an assortment of cupcakes, and some cakesicles. Everything looked so so good! I tried a little bit of the chocolate chip cookie so far, and whew... I wish I lived closer! Lol The shop was super cute, the employees very patient and helpful, and so far the baked goods seem to be delicious too! I highly recommend. Wow! How have I just now finally tried Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes?! It actually doesn't make sense because I am from Fairview Park but have lived in Columbus for over 10 years. I go back to the Cleveland area quite a few times a year. My sister (who still lives in CLE) has always raved about KE, but every time we'd drive past it, it would be closed. Well FINALLY I got a great taste of KE because we were there to pick up my sister's wedding cake! Right when I walked in, I fell in love. This is the cutest, most girly boutique you will ever see. I just love the light pink and floral decor! I couldn't stop taking pictures. I wish my whole apartment looked like this! Since I knew we'd be eating wedding cake the following day, I opted to hold on the cake and instead order macarons the day we were picking up the cake. My sister had told me about the fruity pebbles macaron and it looked so darn good. I was so excited to see they had it that day! I got two of those, a vanilla, a bday cake, a peach ring, and a white chocolate raspberry. I snacked on all of them as we were out and about running errands before the big wedding day. They were all very good (and I honestly don't even like macarons!). But the fruity pebbles was the best by far!!! It was everything I dreamed it would be. I could just get an entire box of those and be content! Also, while we were there, the staff was super friendly! One associate was very pleasant as she helped me with my macaron order. I also felt the other associates helping my sister and showing her the cake were very nice as well. The next day, I was really looking forward to the wedding cake! It was honestly the best wedding cake I've ever had! My sis got a three tier cake and also a 14in round to ensure everyone would have enough cake! It was all strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. YUM!!! Luckily, my sis and I have the same taste in cake flavors as that is my all-time favorite combo for cake and icing. It was honestly perfect and really hit the spot after a delicious dinner. Only thing was that my sis ordered WAY too much! lol! Fine by me as I got to take some home! Just FYI for other brides though, is that they do not deliver wedding cakes, hence why we had to go there to pick it up the day before. I pre-ordered 2 pints of Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie dough. When I picked up the pints they had no labels on them to indicate they were gluten free but the woman at the store reassured me they made them special for my order, which I trusted. Then I got home and put them in the fridge, when I went to bake them later the dough was rock solid (I was told the dough was never frozen) and I let it sit on the counter for 30min then still had to cut the dough with a knife to separate it out. It was very hard to form cookies and they never actually baked even with multiple minutes past the max bake time on the instructions. They were incredibly flat and raw. It also appeared they had either peanut butter or butterscotch chips in the dough as well - which was not what I ordered (turns out it was toffee?). I ended up throwing the cookies away because I did not feel comfortable serving them at my event. I called Dara the retail manager and she was apologetic but never offered any resolution or refund and said that's just how their dough is and I probably needed to bake them longer. I would not recommend buying anything from them because you just don't know what they are actually putting in the baked goods, not worth getting others sick. read more
