My husband Dave brought me here for my birthday. We were greeted and sat immediately upon arrival. Tracy was our server, she was very nice, professional, answered our questions and makes a mean lychee martini! The only bad thing is it seems poor Tracy was the only server for our side of the restaurant and was also running the bar so there were times we had a bit of a wait to order and receive food. Every sushi restaurant we go to in great neck, roslyn, plainview gives you tea, plus soup, salad or both. Here you get nothing. Those living locally come here because it's easy to park. Not my problem the rents in BT are exhorbitant. Go to Matsuya in Great Neck, 15 minute drive for a 5 star meal. 2x and done! read more

My boyfriend and I came for a quick bite before a movie and were shocked by how amazing the food was. We started with the salmon sashimi 10 out of 10. The rock shrimp was a perfect sauce for those who love some sweet and spicy. finally, an eel avocado roll with a correct ratio of eel. This is the same spot of previously Tony Roma's, Allora Italian Restaurant. Decor has drastically changed and very Asian with floating boats and wooden coi fishes raised high in thr ceilings. My review is only based on their catering menu so, please keep that in mind. (Kids menu) Chicken fried rice - large portion, almost adult serving. Flavorful, lots of veggies and well seasoned but nothing special. (Kids menu) Roasted Pork Rib - Chinese-based sauce accompanied with fries. Again, huge portions and not dry with a lot of meat on the bones. Yellowtail Jalepeno appetizer- salty and vinegar but I felt that it was missing a slight sweetness to it. Sushi was not as fresh as I had hoped. Lobster bisque- not sure if this is on the regular menu but it was salty, creamy and a slight sweet finish. Includes a large plumbing shrimp and a side of garlic crustini for dipping. Miso Salad - huge helping of greens, small heirloom and balsamic vinegarette. Ribeye Steak with potato croquette, grilled veggies and side of au jus. A bit too salty and charred for my taste and we requested medium rare but it was well done. Roasted Chicken with same sides accompanied with cream truffle sauce which was seasoned to perfection, Roasted to a crisp and the cream sauce was a perfect richness. Really a fave! If I lived nearby, I may be curious to try their regular menu and the great servers but since I don't, I wouldn't drive 45 minutes to come here again but who knows! I would recommend if you're curious but Flushing has such great real Japanese cuisine but if you want to check out the beautiful decor or hold your next event here, I'd say give it a try! read more

From how the restaurant looks on the outside, my expectations were high maybe a little too high. Upon entering the restaurant we were seated and the server did not mention anything about the Chef's specials or weekly specials that were available. That being said, now mov8ng on to the food. I had the Blue Fin Tuna Tartare and once i mixed the tuna with avocado, the arugula and put them on the chips provided it created a nice bite. It wasn't amazing but it was delightful. Moving on to my second plate, I ordered the Petite Filet Mignon (medium). once it arrived it looked really good but once I took a bite the flavor of the meat was lacking. The sauce that covered it was delicious and the sauce on the potato was also really good but the met lacked salt/seasoning. I was a little disappointed to be honest. The next thing I ordered came from the Chef's Special menu, the Spanish Octopus. While the octopus was cooked well it lacked flavor. The same can be said for the vegetables and potatoes that came with it. It seemed like they were there just to be there, just to fill the plate. For the reasons mentioned above is why I gave 3 stars. I can see these dishes becoming so much more than what was presented to me. So if you want okay food at a moderate price then by all means go and try it for yourself, but don't expect to be amazed. read more

Service is also fast and attentive. - Chef sushi- 12 pieces sushi picked by the chef. fresh and good rice to fish ratio - Yellowtail scallion roll- my go to roll. kind of weird that it came with 6 pieces while my other roll came with 8 pieces. Not sure if this is just the norm - Salmon avocado roll- large pieces of salmon in the roll - Duck roll- really delicious! I would def get this again. The duck was juicy and flavorful and wrapped in a crispy scallion pancake. I personally didn't see the spicy mayo on the bottom of the roll but it was delicious regardless read more

Went here for a team dinner on a Saturday evening. Although the place was not very busy, the ambience and decor was excellent. I ordered some spicy wontons and a sushi roll while others in my group ordered hibachi. Mito was very accommodating of the various requests of my table and the service was far better than expected. Consistently good food service! They have an extensive menu and everything is prepared fresh and comes out in a timely manner. It has a well curated menu of varied Asian and American specialties. Brianna and all the staff try to accommodate substitution and preparation requests right down to the condiments. Their prix fix and brunch menus are a great value and they offer many options. The steak skewer (yakitori) and the sushi rolls like hot mama and fantastic four rolls were good. The crispy risotto ball in their vision is a white rice ball with a dab of cheese inside and truffle oil and parmesan powder sprinkled on top. I was looking forward to this place, the sashimi plate, even the alternative salmon teriyaki were outstanding, from their freshness and presentations however, our server and the "Prime " steak that totally ruined our finalé. First our waiter, to whom we thought he was being sophisticated on us, actually from the beginning to the end and he was. This spot in Bay Terrace really turns over a lot so here's hoping that the Asian fusion spot that is Mito stays for the long term. The space has been remodeled a bit from the last occupant but it's definitely nice and modern so ambiance isn't lacking here. Food here is an eclectic collection of Asian offerings but its still mostly sushi and Japanese fare. The sushi and fish quality here is pretty good IMHO. Fresh, cut well with well seasoned sushi rice, it was pretty tasty. Rolls here are also good. While I would say that nothing truly stood out as "WOW", all of our food was good.
