It's definitely a beautiful place that on the outside you would not guess looks like this or possessed this ambiance! The service was very efficient and the food was pretty enjoyable Now, if im being honest, I would definitely come back for a celebration or date night but is not your casual spot to satisfy your actual sushi cravings, is more of a slow dinner kind of situation!

Maki Combos, Kani Salad, Rock Shrimp, Pork and Chicken Gyoza (Steamed)

Ordered for delivery. Well packaged. The Kani Salad on the dryer side (barely any sauce), but had lots of fresh cucumbers and imitation crab. It could definitely use more sauce, since I mostly just taste the imitation crab. The Rock Shrimp was also light on sauce, but the batter holds up. Shrimp is cooked well. It came with a side of plain salad, which makes it feel even dryer. Maybe get some ginger dressing on the side. The Pork and Chicken Gyoza (Steamed) doesn't travel that well. I image it would be better fresh, as the wrapper is thin. Good porky filling. The Any 3 Maki Roll combo was a good deal. The maki rolls do not have too much rice, which I like, though the rice is a bit chewy as it does not have much vinegar. Feels more like regular rice than sushi rice. The seafood is fresh and decent quality. I went with Tuna, Salmon, and Shrimp Avocado (which was more avocado than shrimp). Overall a little pricey for what you get, and the food was on the blander side. I'd rather get my sushi elsewhere.

Nice setting and good food. Nicely decorated dining room in an open space. Interesting decor made for lots of looking around. Service wasn't amazing but it was good. Everyone was friendly and responsive when we asked. Food was very good. Tartare three ways was excellent, one of my favorite dishes in a while. And it is a unique way of presenting tartare. Sushi four ways: salmon was another interesting and great dish. Nice to have four different preparations of my preferred fish instead of some I like and some I don't. For dessert the warm chocolate cake was nice, very rich and tasty, but dessert is t the strongest dishes here.

3.5 really. Went for restaurant week. What a great value. I think I ordered wrong... should have stuck to the sushi. I went for lunch. The portions are very generous. I got the fried rice with the tuna tartar and truffle. It was yummy, with a very subtle truffle scent. The rice balls were significantly larger than the amount of tuna on top. With that said, it was still delicious. The Mongolian beef was only slightly better than that you would get at a fat food Chinese store... so don't be like me, order something that makes more sense. The fried red snapper was surpassing as it was many filets of fish. They were well cooked, but overpowered by the sauce, which was just okay. The millet had citrus in it, so i personally wasn't a fan. The lava cake was good. The meal also came with a glass of house wine. Infective Incredible value, great quantity, I will go back and actually order sushi..

Decent spot for sushi maki lunch and bento boxes. My eel avocado was tasty but a little skimpy on the fish. The salmon and yellowtail was good. The tuna could be better. The bento boxes was great. I liked both the hibachi salmon and the teriyaki salmon. Portions are not bad, and I liked both that it came with mini cheese cake bites for dessert.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Mito. The staff greeted us immediately when we arrived and our waitress was quite attentive, which we appreciated. The vibe and atmosphere was great for a date night, special occasion or a family dinner. The drinks were very tasty. I had a coconut cocktail (I can't remember the name), which was DELICIOUS!! Regarding food we had the following things: rock shrimp tempura, petit filet mignon, black diamond roll with foie gras, bluefin tuna crudo, black truffle wagyu fried rice, scallop truffle canapes, miso sea bass in pumpkin puree and green tea crepe cake for dessert. We especially loved the petit filet mignon, black diamond roll with foie gras, and bluefin tuna crudo. The reason I dropped a star in my rating is due to a couple of the plates were slightly disappointing. We did not think the pumpkin puree went well with the miso sea bass. We would've preferred the dish without the puree. We thought the wagyu fried rice was a little lackluster. And, I've had better green tea crepe cakes elsewhere. This cake was a little denser than I expected. In any case, we really enjoyed our experience overall and plan to come back to try out more of Mito's menu.

it has been a while since I came here and I did not remember what I loved about the place. So, I just ordered with my heart and I wound up ordering the same things. I ordered six years ago when I used to come here all the time with an ex boyfriend. We got the lobster guacamole with scallion pancake as an appetizer. We also ordered a side of chips to go with it. This is such a delicious thing. It's worth a trip to this restaurant just for this appetizer. I was driving and my friend ordered a drink. I took one sip of it just to see what it tasted like. It was so yummy. It was their version of an old-fashioned. A buttery old-fashioned. We ordered three rolls to share. We got a yellow tail scallion roll, a mango Hawaii roll and another roll that I forgot the title of, but it says something about the number four. Everything was really delicious. We really loved loved loved that mango Hawaii roll. Simple perfection. I will definitely be coming back real soon. The place is beautiful and the staff is excellent. Our waitress Maggie was perfect. She was helpful and very nice. What a great experience all around. We left with big smiles and were very very satisfied.

I've been past this place several times & finally decided to give it a try. First time around , Drinks I had a Lychee Martini, hubby a Coconut saketini both very good nice & strong. We started with the Scallion pancakes they were so good we also had a Mito roll this was great. Main meal we tried Petite filet & the Mongolian chicken , both very good nice tasting steak as well as the chicken good tasting sauce. Next time around we came with some friends , Wonton soup was good .. on the Rolls Fantastic four, good combination. The seared tuna & shrimp tempura both good as well. Very good Mongolian beef & General Tao's chicken, good with the rice. Nice looking place, service was good & prices are reasonable, we enjoyed our time & meal here.

Went there with my family on Christmas night. Really good decoration, music not too loud, perfect for bringing family or a date where you can enjoy the environment and have a nice conversation about things. Their sashimi extremely fresh and surprisingly not that expensive consider how well the restaurant is decorated! We spent about $150 for 5 people. Will come back again. Also recommend their 108 st special roll. read more

The food is decent. The interior design is nice but a bit contrary to the real ambiance. For a fusion place, the staff can be pretty detached and unengaging. Not that I need a floor show but they built a heart with low pulse and decent food at comparable prices. I know at least three other places at par that do embrace you with an energy. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent place but frankly, a bit of a large yawn. read more

This place is the real deal. This is hands down the best sushi/Japanese restaurant in the entire neighborhood. The fish is so fresh and the entrees are made with clean ingredients. It is a bit pricier than other places in the neighborhood but it's fully justified due to the quality of food you get. read more

The service is quick. The front desk is awesome in service picking up your reservation quickly. The ambiance is really nice low dim lit but good enough for group or date nite. Great sushi joint in forest hills. Didn't expect such an awesome decor from the outside. The sushi there was super fresh and tasty. We ordered the lobster monster, which they use real lobster meat for the sushi and tempura. Second dish was the beef peppercorn, which was bursting with flavor and was spicy in the best way. The service is top notch, very attentive and friendly. Only thing is, it's a bit pricey, so it would be hard to make it a regular place. Still, we will be returning. read more

Amazing! Hands down best sushi place at this price point I've been to in NY yet. I love nice things and good food and am more than happy to pay a little more for it. Here I feel I get all of the taste and atmosphere of a higher end restaurant in Manhattan but with the Queens price tag. The people are love as a bonus. This is my favorite restaurant!!! read more

First time there and very disappointed. The food was bland and not much flavor. The items appeared to be frozen. Go to PHO, they are much better and legit pricing. Oh and forget about the pricing on the menu and jack it up without telling you. Consumer department was notified of the false pricing. read more

Disgusting delivery driver. I'm furious that after spending $60+ dollars for dinner and accidentally forgetting to put tip on the yelp app the driver demanded "where's my tip". I was taken aback and told him I would be happy to call the restaurant and add it on for him. I forgot by accident. To be treated like that was uncalled for. In the age of the internet your driver should learn that the world will reward you for good behavior and the opposite for terrible behavior. To all my readers maybe dont get takeout from here. P.S. I added on a $5 tip on the receipt even though I was treated horribly. read more

We ordered a roll here and the first order was so great, we decided to reorder. Upon doing so, they told us they could not make the same order and that the rolls are pre-made (gross) and did not want to make the order. After having to prove to them that they made this order 2 hours prior and it was fine, they did nothing but ruin the second order just to be complete jerks. I will never order from here again on principle because I dont like liars and people who change their story for no good reason. The most unprofessional experience ever read more

This place has awesome food. i always order delivery and never had a problem. Until today 6/6/19 8:46pm. There was a lady who answer the phone and was not nice to me. I had called because i wanted to know if they had discount coupons that they give out with every delivery and she said that i was wrong and that how they don't do that. I just had a simple question and this lady took my happiness away. But besides this young lady i would definitely recommend this place. Thank you. read more

I order for delivery on their website. Place has a terrible website. It wouldn't let me enter my address and then when I just selected "my current location" they had to call to find out what it was. As I type this I ordered my food 90 minutes ago (to the minute). I have been on the phone with the restaurant twice. 15 minutes ago the guy pretended to call the driver and then lied saying he was two blocks away. I am calling to cancel right now. My fiancé works around the corner and I was craving sushi so I stopped in. The ambiance is awesome. A darkened room with a full bar (always a win)! They also have very creative decor. Their hours are listed as 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday, but when we arrived at 12:10 p.m. a server told us to come back in 10-15 minutes so they can finish setting up. Waitress was wonderful, but it took forever for my s/o and I to get our food. The couple that came in 20 minutes after us got all their food before us. I ordered two sushi rolls and my s/o ordered yakiudon. His dish arrived 15 minutes after my dish. While everything tasted good, service and timing need some work. Hopefully, this is only because Mito is still trying to figure out their flow. read more

My wife and I have been coming to this Asian fusion restaurant on 108th St., Forest Hills for over a year. It has proven itself to be outstanding. Offering delicious fresh tasting Japanese food. We love the happy hour that is from 5 to 7 every night. Who doesn't love four dollar sushi rolls and six dollars cocktails and half-price sake. Service is professional and friendly. The servers and bartenders now know us by name and know what our favorite cocktails. Street meter parking is plentiful. The decor is romantic this is one of my favorite date night spots. They also offer delivery and takeout. read more

Pomegranate mojito was very tasty. For appetizers we did the edamame, crispy calamari, shumai and rock shrimp. All were good and portion size can let 4 people have a little each. For entree did the snowday special roll. It was fresh and tasty. Lastly we had the chocolate souffle with a scoop of ice cream on top. Great end to the meal. The waitress brought my husband basil chicken when he ordered the beef which is the only reason i didn't give it 5 starts but she did comp us a VOSS water for the mistake. read more

The sushi just fell apart when you pick it up. I'm guessing they were cutting back in the eel sauce, but really disappointed this time. We got free sweet potato roll for spending more than $40, which was appreciated. The rice was also very wet though. The spicy trio roll was still good. No issues there. Will probably revisit in a view months, but I'm hoping this was a one-off experience.

My friend has a newborn and we were trying to find restaurants in the area that would be stroller-friendly (which actually isn't an easy task, to my surprise) and finally landed on Nick's because we had gone there together when it reopened. And it always seems very family and kid-friendly. We definitely went to the right place. I'm not a parent and I've never pushed a stroller without some bumps here and there, and I was so worried about helping get the stroller through the 2 doors. One of his staff saw us from the inside and immediately came out to help as soon as we reached for the door. Nick's paternal instincts definitely came into full effect because he looked out for us and wanted to give us the best seats so that we can have the stroller beside us. The pizza is excellent and I absolutely would come here over again and again, but the warm service from Nick himself and his staff is what truly makes this place so special in the community for so long. I didn't get a chance to come here during those formative years before the fire but when the restaurant finally reopened last year, it was incredibly sad to hear Nick explain how the fire and rebuilding devastated him and the business for over 2 years.

I took advantage of their BOGO deal, which meant an enormous amount of food, and it was all absolutely phenomenal. First, the BOGO pork dumplings were a delight--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Then, the Rapunzel Hair Roll was such a treat! I had the Saigon spicy tuna wrap as an appetizer & the hot mama roll for dinner. The portions were great for the price, it was the perfect amount of food. The restaurant: in a predominantly Jewish area with not many Japanese eats, it's definitely a welcome. The place is brand new with very nice decor. You walk in and you'll automatically get greeted by a host. The bar has large screen TV's where you can grab a drink and watch a game. read more

I had the crispy red snapper. Wow..just wow. Sweet and light taste. Staff is friendly and after your meal they give you a stick of gum. Which was a great customer service gesture. I will be coming back with more people. Also order the monster Lobster you won't be disappointed. read more

Great food!! Great Plum wine! A for Ambiance. The little Japanese warriors statues which decorate the whole restaurant are a great effect!! The huge Japanese warrior boat hanging from the ceiling also makes a dramatic impact! Lovely, helpful _ courteous staff. read more

I like this place Mito. Great design inside. I love this place to eat and that Happy Hour menu is the bomb! The waiter, waitresses are so amazing. I would totally recommend this restaurant. And very clean inside this very important for customer. read more

I've been here twice, the food is authentic, the service is also very good, if you need anything you can be directly talk to the manager wade Chan, he will help you. Very recommended: out of mind roll, 108th stree roll, shrimp vs lobster roll. read more

The sushi is fresh and beautfiully plated. We had Peking duck, Mongolian chicken, grilled shrimp and a side of steamed bok choy. Reasonably priced FRESH sushi and sashimi! Had fresh wasabi!!. Cool and clean decor!! Will definitely be back! read more

The place is beautiful inside the servers are amazingly friendly the food is really good its very clean and calm place. Drinks are good just the food is expensive here but other than that I recommend it to anyone who loves sushi! read more
