You successfully ASSEMBLED a salad for me. As for taste, presentation, portion control, and price......? Bitter possibly gone-bad dressing (ranch) , sloppily tossed w/broken greens and cold GRILLED chicken, croutons overwhelmed the amount of greens, and 22 bucks for the whole experience. Guess I shouldn't review them badly, but rather be disappointed in myself for having chosen this place to nourish myself. Really good breakfast food!! I had their homemade corned beef hash!! Best I've ever had! Then I got their homemade raspberry butter and 9 grain toast, which was also amazing. This is a really cool little lunch/breakfast spot that I just recently went to in flag. My wife and I came in right before their lunch service so we walked around the little shops before we ordered. I got the BLT which was loaded with crispy bacon and it was on a pretzel bun. I wish I could have tasted more of the chipotle aioli because I am crazy about that chipotle flavor. My wife got the chicken salad with the chicken and rice soup and it was actually a really delicious soup but in my opinion the chicken salad wasn't too special. Overall this is a nice place to stop by and get a tasty lunch but my main complaints would be the portion size and the prices. I feel like I paid too much for a pretty small sandwich. So many delicious options!!! It's seriously great for lunch but breakfast is my favorite here. Super filling choices with plenty of vegan and GF options that are all delicious, any time of day. If you want a lighter breakfast that's still filling I recommend the oatmeal with all the fruit options except apples (personal texture preference though I like apples). I was here this summer and was completely taken away with the Mix. The vibe inside is hip, but not too hip, woodsy, modern, cleaver, and just right. I was in a quandary on what to order the eggs, pancakes, bacon, it was all looking so good since I could see all that was going on with the cooking and the serving. Alright. I'm here with my parents because they wanted to do a little post-college graduation gift for me. We came down here from the Grand Canyon, and you better believe my parents and I were hungry. When we got into Flagstaff, my mom told me to see what places were around. I pulled this one up because it was the closest, cheapest, and only one that was open. We were greeted by a person named Chris, who gave us brief, informative, descriptions of the food. I got a Midwest omelette, my dad a breakfast burrito with sausage, and my mom the vegetarian omelette. The food came out quick, delicious, and was excellent! They give you two sides. I had a seriously delicious grilled cheese here. I've eaten many a grilled cheese in my lifetime and this was one of my favorites. I can't remember what cheeses they used but they went together perfectly. The staff was nice as well. We got there a half hour before they closed ( the hours posted on yelp appear to be wrong for a Sunday, or maybe it was just because it was winter break) and they were still friendly when we ordered which was nice because we were super hungry and really didn't want to search for another spot. 4.5 stars out of 5 I was traveling through on my way back from visiting The Grand Canyon the day before. My brother and his family live here in Flagstaff. I checked Yelp to see which ones were the top breakfast places here and Mix was at the top of the list. I had to walk around a little bit as I had a minor issue locating the place. I followed the GPS instructions which led me through a small but artsy indoor shopping mall before finding the place. Downtown Flagstaff has a local-artsy feel and vibe to it which I really like. The menu is posted on the wall next to where you place your order and pay, you then find a seat and they will bring out the food to you. The restaurant is exposed and opens up to the rest of the shopping mall; various eclectic and rustic art can be seen all around. I ordered their french toast along with a side of fresh fruit and toast. The french toast was cut into small squares and then appears to have been baked. Whatever they did and whatever ingredients were used, this was wonderful. The fresh fruit was also tasty. All in all, a great first-visit experience. Will definitely come back to try out some of their other dishes. 4.5 out of 5 stars - my only minor issue is parking convenience. Luckily, it was a weekday when I came and had no issues finding parking. However, on weekends, I could see it being more problematic. read more

Stellar service - just the right mix (ha) of concern and hands-off. We got some help going through the line when we first arrived, our waitress checked on us a few times, and then left us alone. We had the grilled cheese - yum, get it. The salad system is very cool because you can pick out everything you want (or don't want) in your salad, ask for the amount of dressing you want, then they toss it fresh for you. A little pricey, which is why I didn't add the 5th star. For two, for lunch, it was $20. However, some of the portions are a bit on the small side. I got the daily special sandwich: a braised beef sandwich with caramelized onions, served with a side of au jus for dipping and a bag of chips. The sandwich was pretty small for $10. My husband got a cranberry, blue cheese, and walnut wedge salad and a cup of roasted cauliflower soup. The salad was a good size and his meal filled him up (both were delicious, by the way). I, on the other hand, was left wanting more food. Now, don't get my wrong; my sandwich was really good, it just didn't satisfy my appetite. Was the first time stopping in here on Sunday after a late night. There was a wait on the food, as expected for a Sunday morning but when my breakfast got there it was worth every minute. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with eggs, home fries, and extra crispy bacon. Side note my biggest pet peeve is when you see the person take your order and then they bring out floppy bacon. This bacon was perfect. The biscuits were a proper southern biscuit. I had also ordered a soda, they use Stubborn brand soda. If your not familiar they make soda using natural flavors and real sugar. Stopped in with my mom for breakfast before we left for Sedona - we were tired of the typical hotel buffet and wanted something fun and flavourful! First of all the place is a little hard to find, and when we saw it from the outside it looked closed until we got right up to the window and saw people inside. (An open sign would be handy or a sign on the east mall door indicating they are inside.....)- I had the French toast with hash browns and bacon. The French toast was amazing! It was cooked similarly to bread pudding but without the liquid, which made the outside crisp and the rest nice and gooey. The hash browns were the shredded style, really well cooked. Bacon was nice and crisp as well. My mom had the Mom's Grilled Cheese. She thought she was ordering a grilled cheese but it turns out its "their take on grilled cheese" so she had it as an omelette. She wasn't super impressed until I had a piece and said I really enjoyed the dill sauce, it turns out the sauce was only on one part of the omelette so once she tasted it she did like it. I think if the sauce was spread out evenly I wouldn't have had to convince her! I'd return if I lived in Flagstaff, they had some other really amazing sounding items that I would definitely try! Very disappointing. The kitchen crew was apparently all on break and the cashier had to go back twice to ask someone to make my sandwich. I got the berry chicken salad sandwich. There were 2 cranberries and 4 small chunks of cold grilled chicken, half of it too hard to chew, on the entire sandwich. It took 15 minutes to make that. Our salads sat behind the counter that whole time because the girl making salad was actually working and made them right away. The salads were composed correctly but as to the taste, left plenty to be desired. Really disappointed with the service here. My boyfriend and I looked up breakfast places while getting ready this morning. Mix looked the most appealing to us and we could take the food to go. We called 3 times over the course of 20 minutes to confirm if they were open as t is a holiday weekend and still serving breakfast. No one answered so we figured we would go and see if they were open. We get there at 11:15 and they are! But then we are informed they stop serving breakfast at 11. They still had breakfast food on the griddle that they were cleaning up. Had they answered the phone we wouldn't of wasted our time. So can't speak much to the food but the customer service is lacking. There has to be better places then this and we did find a few. Go check out Whyld Ass or Aspen Deli, both are a 5 minutes walk from this place. Great service and good food. read more
