***This is a review specifically for the bar service. *** Brought an out of town group here on a rainy night. 7/18 @ 7:30ish (This is after we were ignored at Rendezvous) The first gal was very pleasant! So sweet. Upon realizing we needed coffees, she left to grab a "barista". This second girl, aka "barista" was quite unpleasant to myself and the rest of my group. All questions were answered abruptly and without a smile. (I'm assuming this girl was maybe busy doing something else and was very bothered that she had to take the time to run the coffee bar). After we finished our orders, and were waiting... I overhear her say to the first girl, "this shots aren't running right", watch her sniff the shot glass, say "they are super runny"... then, "whatever" and continues to just continue to call the drinks out for pickup. No "let me know if these are ok" or "how do these taste?". Needless to say - no - they weren't great. But the lack of customer service is the real reason for this review. Flagstaff is a shimmering jewel of happy people, so it was sad that this was the impression left on my out of town guests. I just want the manager to know what's happening in their business because MIX is better than this. Normally very happy people. read more

We stopped by here on our way through Arizona and we are so glad we did! I ordered the Gluten Free Blueberry Pancakes, my husband had the breakfast burrito and my sister ordered the Carrot Cake Pancakes (so sad they can't be gluten free). We loved the food! It was a little confusing to find the restaurant, but we eventually found it inside of a little mall. read more

Food was great and the service was fast. My family wanted diablo burger but I didn't so I stumbled into mix and after a look at the menu my family all changed their minds and came and ate with me at mix it was great. It was a little pricey but in a tourist town you can't expect much less. Was still very pleased!! read more

Honestly, I loved this place a lot. I got the breakfast potatoes which are 100% the best I've ever had and the blueberry compote pancakes. I would have given 5 stars, but my boyfriend picked this place because of the deep dish french toast and we got there at 10 AM (so not too late at all) and they "ran out". Fantastic Food! There was a nice lad named Kyle who made a few suggestions and he was right!! We had the caramel apple pancakes and the french toast. Both we equally delicious! Staff was very friendly. We are locals and had never eaten here. Hubby had Cheesy Eggs Benedict, it was divine! I tasted it and was sad I didn't order it too. Then I tried my Deep Dish French Toast with blueberry compote, hash browns and bacon and was extremely pleased with it. Mimosas were good as well. Our server came back to check on us. Unfortunately disappointed the last couple times we ordered pancakes here. Not just well done but flat out burnt pancakes. The last time we went I specifically asked for them to cook them light brown as to avoid not be able to eat them but again they were burnt. It's so sad because the pancake toppings are so good but when they're black they're inedible. read more

Stopped in on a snowy day for some soup and a grilled cheese. MIX has a great team of friendly staff, and they got me taken care of super fast. I love that the team members can readily recommend both their favorite items and great food combos. We only come to Flagstaff once a month and were looking for a good breakfast joint. We were tired of the place we usually go to. Yelped restaurants and Mix came up. I honestly thought this place was super disappointing compared to the good reviews it has on Yelp. It is a sort of grab-and-go breakfast counter with seating. I ordered a breakfast sandwich special for the day- an over easy egg on an english muffin with turkey sausage, red onion, and tomato. The whole thing was served to me as a runny, sloppy mess with way too much red onion. I sat at a table in the dining area and had a chance to look around. The space looked well-worn and it's vibe was hip/industrial-ish. Really it just looked super dirty to me, like it could use a deep cleaning. I was not very impressed. I feel like there are much better breakfast places in Flagstaff. read more

Let me start with the staff was very friendly and attentive so this post is not to be negative about them at all, however, the food was absolutely terrible. I ordered oatmeal and it was a so dry and clumpy. The brown sugar that was served on the side was old and hard as well. My youngest dauughter had pancakes and when we cut into them they were raw in the center. My oldest daughter gated had French toast and it tasted like it had been cooked with curry powder. Absolutely LOVE this place! My husband, daughter and I come up almost every weekend for yummy breakfast along with the $2 mimosas and spicy bloody mary's. This place has not failed us yet! The staff is always nice and friendly, never once has anyone been in a bad mood or have provided bad service. The place overall is very clean, the staff are quick at clearing off your table once you are finished. Yummy things to try: Cheesy eggs Benedict (only served on the weekends) Biscuits and gravy Ham omelet Breakfast burrito w/ chorizo and a side of cheesy hollandaise sauce The honey butter is also a MUST! The food here is good and simple. I would have gone for 4 stars, but their overall setup has me leaving 3 stars. You arrive, stand in line to place your order (took me 25 minutes standing in line), you wait on yourself for any beverages you want, and it took a solid 30 minutes for the food to be ready. Loved this place! We were traveling and just passing through but stopped for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. They have a massive salad bar but we opted instead for the warmer items since there was still snow on the ground outside. I had the grilled cheese sandwich with the vegan, basil soup while my guest had the black bean chili. All three things were excellent as well as the infused water they offer for free. I love MIX. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I had two scrambled eggs with two sausage patties and a bowl of fruit. My mother had the Midwestern omelet and she said it was the best omelet she had ever had. I will be returning for more. read more

Love this new restaurant in downtown Flag! It's inside the Old Town Shops. It used to be Pesto Brothers, but in creating a new restaurant, they knocked down a ton of walls and opened up the entire space. It's awesome! It's a big open eating space with access to the chocolate store. I got a salad with steak in it. It's a pretty awesome set up, with some created salads, but also an awesome menu to create your own salad. I added steak to mine, which was well cooked and delicious. When you create your own salad, you check off the ingredients on a little menu, which I really liked, because I didn't have to try to yell over the glass case about what I wanted, and I could take as much time as needed to design my salad. I also really liked that you could order coffee where you pay for your salad, and then walk over to the barista and just pick it up. There are also sandwiches on the menu, but I just had the salad. Extremely Unprofessional. No seating. Rude staff, that is unwilling to accommodate to go orders "at this time" although they usually do. There were only about 6 people in front of us when we arrived, but we were waiting 10 minutes without moving, so we left. I tried to call in a to go order and was sent to voicemail 3 times, the fourth time I got an answer and was told that they do take to go orders, but just not right now. Why? He said they were too busy! I don't understand how having SIX people in line is that stressful! While I was waiting I ordered an overpriced Divinity coffee which was way too frothy...it was supposed to be coffee, not a freaking cappuccino. And they don't use real tea for their Chais, they have a green syrup that is "supposed" to taste like tea... read more

My wife and I were just visiting Flagstaff for a day and heard about Mix from a local friend. The staff was amazingly friendly and very helpful in getting us aquainted with their menu, but that's just the beginning. We got there at a time when most places sacrifice quality for quantity (lunch rush). That did not happen at Mix. The food was out quickly, efficiently, and rated a 10 in taste. I also noticed that they did not use processed ingredients. Everything was quality produce. I had the braised beef sandwich and my wife ordered the grilled chicken salad. We did have to call someone over to fix our order but they handled the situation with a sense of urgency and corrected the problem immediately. The atmosphere is also very welcoming and spacious. The little touches such as the displaying of local artists work from a projector make you feel somewhat connected to the community. We also enjoyed the FREE WIFI while waiting (who does that??) All in all, we got a sense that we were valued customers here. If we ever visit Flagstaff again we are definitely coming back. Good job guys! read more

Flagstaff is an odd little place. We stayed this last weekend and a coworker recommended Mix. It is a different style of ordering. You basically write down what kind of food you would like (sandwich, soup, salad) and they make it fresh in front of you. I had 1/2 chicken berry sandwich and 1/2 salad ( I love when places give you the choice to mix it up and do halves!!) It was amazing. The salad was perfect and the sandwich is one of the best I have ever had. The bread was great. The boyfriend ordered 3 things and loved them all. The customer service was outstanding and the gentleman that recommended my sandwich seemed to really like his job and was proud to work there.. I can't wait to go back to Flagstaff just to stop in Mix and get my grub on!! read more
