Came to celebrate my boyfriend's sister's birthday. As a sushi lover, her father knew this was the place to go. We ordered the Mixed Sashimi Large and was surprised by the amount of food we got. First we started with drinks: some hot sake and beers for the table. Complimentary hot tea was served for the non alcoholic drinkers. Then came the ban chan. For a table of size they gave us two sets of each. First came squid two ways. One dish had the raw thinly sliced squid with some with a drizzle of gochujang (Korean chili paste) while the other had cooked squid. Personally I liked the flavor of the cooked squid better. Next we got seaweed salad, edamame, blanched shrimp, sea pineapple and dry seaweed & sesame oil for later. It was my first time trying to sea pineapple and it tasted like the sea. It's an acquired taste. We also had miso soup (no tofu or seaweed in case you were wondering). Then the glorious platter of sashimi was placed on our over crowded table. There was Tuna, Salmon, Abalone, Toro (fatty tuna), red snapper, yellowtail, uni, and some other fish I can't identify. It was plenty for us to share. The dipping sauces provided were soy sauce, doenjang (soybean paste), & gochujang. You can use the dry seaweed and sesame oil as well. I was told different fishes went well with different sauces but you should just try out what works best for your taste. And if you thought that was it...more food came. Cheesy corn, sweet potato & pumpkin tempura, grilled mackerel, spicy squid...they had to add another table to handle the sheer amount of food on our table. Then came the last part of the set: burnt rice soup alongside Spicy fish soup. For the price, this is a lot of food. Everyone got to have plenty. On top of that, we got two complimentary items: baked salmon roll and an extra serving of sashimi. I don't know what type of fish but half of it was super fatty while the other half was more lean. We didn't know anyone who worked there. They just gave us free stuff! The service was great. Responsive servers that quickly brought you what you needed. Never again and I would never recommend! If you've ever had Korean sashimi course dinners, you would know that it comes out with many small dishes, plus the sashimi plate. Well not here! You have to order each item! Most Korean sashimi places, and every one I've been to, besides here, starts you off with abalone porridge. The waitress said they don't serve that there, so we ordered one to share for 3 people. We also ordered the small sashimi with the uni and the waitress responds that won't fill us up. So I asked her if the fish egg roe rice will be served and she said no. Again, all the other Korean sashimi restaurants, this is served with the course meal. Since it didn't and she mentioned that the small platter wasn't enough, I ordered that too! I also ordered 3 spicy tuna hand rolls. Abalone porridge was horrible and the worst I've ever had! Usually it comes with the meal, but instead we had to pay for this junk. We didn't even eat it or take it with us. I can't believe we had to pay for this, cause it wasn't cheap! I wish they would have taken it back, but that's how Korean restaurants are. The spicy tuna was bad! Again the worst spicy tuna ever! The fish was not fresh and the flavor was bland and just spicy! We only had one out of the 3 we ordered. I complained to the waitress who mentioned that the small sashimi platter wasn't enough and she was like "oh wells" in Korean and just walks off. The sashimi pieces on the platter were overwhelmingly too big. You couldn't enjoy eating it, because it was just too big. They need to refine their cutting skills. We came here because my dad raved about this place, but hasn't been here in years. He was super disappointed, we all were. I wish I got the waitresses name that told us that the small was not going to be enough, because she was also very rude and kept forgetting things we kept asking for, such as our alcohol. Our bill came out to about $200 and not worth what we paid for. This was THE worst Korean sashimi joint we've ever been to with the worst waitress! She was older and the chubbiest one out of the other waitresses. We also had so much leftovers! The price we paid did not justify the quality, quantity, and experience you will get at other Korean sashimi restaurants. Message to the owner, please be on par with other Korean sashimi restaurants when it comes to the course meal. The flavors weren't there and we had to order each one separately, when it's a given with other establishments. Your price does not justify the course meal. Came here to celebrate a special occasion with my family and we ordered 2 large sashimi platters. They were so beautiful and the cuts of fish were BIG and fresh. The uni box was a little disappointing since they were the smallest piece of uni I have ever seen. Some pieces were only slightly bigger than my nail! The banchan and platter came out first then when we were close to being done the rolls and soups and fish banchan came out which I thought was very weird. Sadly they only had unflavored soju which is beyond disgusting (this was my first time trying it). would not recommend that at all. I came here for lunch with my parents. My dad had the teriyaki salmon bento box.my mom had udon noodles. I had the sashimi, spicy tuna roll and sushi. My trip was quite large, even for me. The fish is not prepared as you would find in a real sushi joint, but it was hearty. The prep of the fish was lacking, that is a bone in the salmon, but I still liked it. I actually truly love this place. I've been coming here for years. My favorite roll is the California roll with raw salmon on top. There are no refills on soda as they use cans but the service is great and they refill water as needed. Don't mind the fishy smell when you walk in, it's because they have live lobster and other live things ready to be freshly made. They have gone through a couple remodels and all I can say is the additions look great! Very pretty! They are always welcoming as well when you walk in the door. I do plan to return soon. read more

Miyako serves up super fresh, super high quality sashimi and sushi. This entire platter was gone before we knew it. They have tons of different types of food options - definitely something for everyone. Service is always great and plates come out quickly - a necessity when the food is this good. My dad's company also brings their clients here every so often when they visit from all over the world. It's a humble and cozy space, without all the glamour. Good ole Korean comfort-dining. I went to this restaurant on 9/13/2020. Maybe +/- a day or two - only about 2 weeks difference from the reviewers visit. I remember this because we went for my mom's birthday. The service was impeccable and the food was just as delicious as I always remembered it, if not, better. I remember my husband and I were STARVING. The sashimi platters took some time (about 20 mins) to come out, but that's okay - it was beautifully crafted. We kept our mouths busy with beer, sake and all the banchan (side dishes). There are restaurants that don't keep certain items on their banchan list. These are called seasonal dishes. A lot of higher-end, well-known owned businesses do this. Sometimes they're called SPECIALS or are MARKET PRICED and sometimes they're just not listed on the menu. Banchan is usually rotated items, meaning you're not always going to see the same things - its FREE and a SERVICE for god's sake. Therefore, it makes PERFECT sense that it is possible something is no longer on the menu. Regarding the server thing, having a little compassion goes a long way. They did try to mend your issues, you didn't give them the time of day. You don't have to go back, but to wish such horrible wishes against a family-run restaurant during a pandemic is disgusting and really reflects who you are. They deserve to do business, a lot of people in the community appreciate their presence - and many of these people, old or new, will support them. About the social media app thing, its social media. - it really is just like texting or calling. I'm assuming Kakao. Would you have preferred that they ignore your experience entirely? What kind of personal information do you think they'd use against you? They were apologizing. Came here with a group of 5 and got the super large course. First we thought it wasn't gonna be enough food for everyone. However, I got full from the first course which was the big sashimi platter. I love how there's uni and toro on the platter because those two are my favorite ever. The second course was mixed tempura, corn cheese, and baked salmon belly and cheek. At this point I was already tapping out. But the dishes kept coming out. We got another type of banchan and also the burnt rice that you get at a soft tofu place. The rolls were just the right size and everything was fresh. We got the Baked Salmon and Lobster roll very very good. The jalapeño bombs were the best I've had so far. The baked muscles were my favorite. We also ordered udon soup which wasn't necessary because they give you a miso soup and a couple other appetizers on the house. Decent restaurant, but not great. The restaurant does give you large portions so my salmon teriyaki came with two large filets along with tempura. The sashimi hew-dup-bap is a great deal as well since they give you a humongous salad along with sashimi. The grilled eel and the broiled eel are decent with small portions than the other dishes, but are more pricey than the other items we ordered. The seating, if you get a booth, is private so that it's nice if you have a larger group. The service is so-so because the staff doesn't come by often and you have to call them to get them to either fill your water or clean your table. It's nice to go to a non-chain mid-range restaurant in the area with reasonable pricing so I can see why they have a good number of customers, but if you're looking for high-end quality eats, I would not expect much. I have only gotten one thing off the menu here (sashimi combo) and it has got to be hands down the best variety of fish and sides you will get from a sushi joint. The dollar price is kinda steep for it, but it comes with a lot. I usually come with my parents and we still have a hard time finishing the medium size. Like any typical Korean joint, they have the table set up with several simple Korean side dishes (ban chan). And if you order the sashimi combo comes the feast: small abalone porridge, assortment of shellfish and squid dishes, sashimi plate (size depends on order ), cheesy corn, mackerel, egg, and spicy soup. All ending with a pot of rice soaked in hot water which always seems to hit the spot after all that sashimi. The quality of the fish is good. I am kinda sad that this place doesn't have better reviews because I have been here several times and I have never had food posioning as some of the other reviews have suggested. In terms of customer service, I have never had complaints with service once seated. The restaurant, though, has a lot of unutilized space which makes it incredibly frustrating when you have to wait (I want to eat already!!). My second visit to Miyako, this time on a Sunday dinner, was once again a truly great dining experience. Food quality and quantity far exceeded my expectations. The staff were all friendly and came by to check up on us at convenient times. The presentation of the dishes were very beautiful. My group and I ordered a Family Combination, which fed 6 people and filled all of our tummies! A huge salad plate and colorful side dishes (including this delicious seafood porridge, I think.... it might've not had seafood, but it was so delicious I had to ask for more and they gladly did so!) filled up our tables. From then on, every 5-7 min or so the staff came by to give us more food. Like I said, the six of us ate so much we couldn't get up out of our seats....... The last course was a spicy seafood soup that really helped digest our food down. It had fish, veggies, and tofu and came with rice! I almost ordered desert, but until our next visit we decided to control ourselves. The best experience I personally felt out of this dining experience was that I truly felt the workers (servers, host, and the sushi chef) really cared about the costumers. (Discrimination/Racism) It's sad that I have to write this review. But to keep restaurants accountable I have to. I've tried getting a table at this restaurant three times. I've tried it in different ways, first (walk-in) my wife and I went in and asked for a table, she said there are no tables available ( the place was half full), she didn't ask to put our name down or nothing for a wait. So we awkwardly walked away. Second time, same routine but this time we asked if we can put our name down to wait. She went to speak to the chef and came back and said sorry we don't do the wait list and said they were full again. Again half full, open sushi bar and all Asian customers inside. So we did it the sneaky way, we had called in and made a reservation they said ok, what is your name I gave an Asian name she took it down (I thought they didn't do reservations?) So we walked in and guess what? THEY LOST OUR RESERVATIONS!!!! They don't have that name down and now they are full and booked for the night. It was 5pm!!!!! They saw we weren't Asian and blocked us 3 times. After reading all the other negative reviews and similar issues I had to write my story. Very disappointed and saddened. read more

I ordered Salmon skin salad today and it was so big for $7.99. I didn't expect that big portion since they set the price a little bit high on most of the dishes.
