Mizu is reminiscent of the hip spots in the Delmar Loop. The decor is in keeping with traditional Japanese style restaurants I've been to in Tokyo. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The restaurant is counter service. The menu is extensive, so grab a seat and a menu and peruse all of the many offerings. Mizu offers a full sushi bar with traditional rolls and some house specialties. We decided to forgo sushi this visit to explore the hibachi and bento boxes. We ordered karage chicken as an appetizer. The chicken is served with a mayo based sauce. The chicken was crisp and juicy. We also ordered shrimp tempura which came with tempura broccoli as well. For entrees the chicken katsu and teriyaki salmon won out of all of the various options. The bentos are served with two mini egg rolls, a small California roll, protein, and fried rice and or noodles. I prefer steamed white rice which is served in a generous portion. The salmon was perfectly cooked with crisp edges. The chicken katsu was equally delicious. Nice and crispy with tender chicken. I was pleasantly surprised at the offering of traditional Japanese snacks. There were onigiri and spam musubi, and don't forget the beautiful dessert sandos with fresh berries, kiwi, or mango and a decadent whipped cream. They also have a nice selection of Japanese soft drinks. As someone who spent several years living in Japan, I am very particular about Japanese food. Mizu did an excellent job with the space, food, and service!

YUM! I've been wanting to try this spot since they recently opened, I didn't realize it was not only a grab and go spot but that they also have ample seating to dine in. I ended up doing a to-go order of the angry wife roll, edamame, clear broth soup, brussel sprouts, and a strawberry sando. Overall I enjoyed my meal and look forward to visiting again. The Brussels sprouts were phenomenal, I haven't stopped thinking about them since. The edamame and sushi were also good but did not blow me away. I was fairly disappointed in the soup and Sando. The soup was flavorless and oily, even with some added soy sauce. The sando needs more than 3 total strawberries, mine had the smaller berries so my first bite was great but then I was left with just bread and the cream...which does not go great together without the fruit.

My friend and I got to check out Mizu last week and can't wait to go back. It is a self-serve type of restaurant. 1. When you come in, you will be seated with a menu. 2. Once you decide what you want, you order at the counter and they will give you a number. 3. While waiting for your food, get your drinks at the fountain area, grab chopsticks, napkins, and soy sauce. 4. Your food will come out to your table. Enjoy! *Eat there or to-go. Musubi and Sandos Everything we ordered was delicious! I recommend checking it out!

The soft opening of this new restaurant could not have gone better as far as I'm concerned. It really lives up to the hype! Large menu of your choice of sushi, hibachi, or Ramen. Truly something for everyone. Order at the counter and you are given a number to take to your table. Service is excellent and the food is served pretty quickly. I was in a salmon mood, so I ordered the salmon poke bowl, which came out with fresh spring greens, raw salmon, cucumber, crab sticks, and I forget what else. It's tossed in a really nice Ponzu and mayo based dressing. It was so refreshing and very good and a large portion for the price. All the prices here are really great and affordable. I also ordered Escolar sashimi (aka white "tuna") and salmon sashimi, and it was served with a nice sear on the Escolar, which I really appreciated and really added to the flavor! The owner stopped by and spoke to us and asked how things were and let me know that he does a really nice salmon sashimi with truffle oil that he's going to make for me next time I stop in. How awesome that is that?! Although they didn't have low sodium soy sauce, I was offered gluten-free soy sauce (tamari), and that did the trick! For my last item on my salmon quest, I ordered the salmon lover roll, and it was absolutely amazing. I loved all the flavors and the sauces were perfect and not too overpowering so you could taste every bit of the roll. Will order again and again. My friend really enjoyed her udon Bento box and took half of it home, it was a really large portion. We were a bit surprised that her dinner was served in a to-go container while all of my food was served on pretty plates and bowls, but it made it easy to take home. We were also really looking forward to trying the fruit, sando's, however, they were sold out of the strawberry and we were told that they bake their own Japanese milk bread in house in order to ensure optimal freshness so when they sell out, they sell out for the day. They will have more tomorrow and if I have time to stop by, I definitely will, but it's good to know that they make them fresh every day and this will help me plan ahead so I get there early next time! I'm super excited to try more menu items and was also told about an upcoming addition - a Ramen carbonara hybrid! What?!! Count me in!

Nestled in the corner of the Four Seasons center, off Highway K...this is the plaza with the clock tower. They share a parking lot with several other restaurants. They have only been open for 3 days when I visited, and you would never know it. It is so smoothly run. The decor is simple, contemporary, Japanese and there is lots to look at. I love the large anime poster on the wall behind the main counter. I received a very warm welcome by several employees upon entering the establishment. The menu has a large assortment of various sushi rolls, ramen including a vegan option, bento boxes, and a great selection of appetizers. I was surprised to see so many salad options. I still can't believe how fast my order was ready. That's truly impressive for opening week! The crab Rangoon comes in four pieces and is the sweeter variety. I wish there had been more filling. The spicy salmon salad was like a mini poke bowl and quite good but very spicy...hotter than jalapeños. I ordered a Philly sushi roll and a salmon seaweed wrapped sushi roll and they were both fresh and delicious. I'm not sure if it's the type of rice they use, or how they prepare it, but the rice was the best sushi rice I've ever had. I'm planning to return with friends.

Great new little spot. A little bit of everything including Sushi, ramen, hibachi, bento boxes and desserts. Freshly cooked to order. Service is basically just food delivery only, you get a menu when you sit down and then order from the counter. Flavors were good and portions were nice. Will be back to try more.

Omg yessss!!! This place opened 3 or 4 days ago so I was expecting some growing pains but nope. Small cute place off of Hwy K in O'Fallon. Immediately welcomed in with a warm greeting and a smile. I ordered online and it was ready about 25 minutes later. I couldnt decide do I tried the 3 protein hibachi with rice and noodles, egg rolls and the Angry Wife Roll. Everything was 10/10!!! Like some of the best in life. So many options, good portions, high quality and flavorful. I will be back because I have so much more to try but also loved what I got. The snapper, filet and shrimp were all fire. The noodles and the rice were also great.

    Steak Hibachi

Our first visit was a big success. We tried a few of the appetizers the crab Rangoon were very good and the Mizu poppers were a fun play on your typical jalapeño poppers. We also had steak and chicken hibachi both were very good. I thought the two sushi rolls we had were very good as well. The food was hot and came out very fast! The building is clean and new looking. My kids said the bathroom was nice as well. The service was very nice and attentive. I can't wait to come back again!

A must visit! This place had incredible food. The fried calamari is a great way to start your meal. We tried 4 different sushi rolls. the angry wife roll which is flambéd was a crowd pleaser with a smoky finish which gave a twist to a standard sushi roll. The mizu and the rainbow roll were great as well. Our favorite was the Chef Signature Roll, which came with lobster, Avocado, mango for some sweetness. This roll also came with 4 pieces of Rock Shrimp which were to die for! I also enjoyed a delightful Thai Tea. The service was great as well. You walk into a friendly staff ready to seat you and you'll look over the menu and step up to the counter to order. The owner walked around to tables and asked how everything was, gave recommendations, and answered any questions. Overall a great experience!

Tonight was a good night for family sushi night at Ninja…read more Our waitress was very helpful, and thorough, making sure the items we ordered had no gluten... apparently some of the eel and other fish might be marinated in sauces that might have gluten. Ninja does have gluten-free soy sauce, but you'll likely not want much soy sauce because you won't want it hiding the great flavors of Ninja's sushi. Tonight we enjoyed a variety of rolls, most chef's choice: - Kimi roll - Philly roll - Sumo roll - Salmon avocado - Dynamite (no crunch) - two... not one, but two Golden Dragon rolls... with curved slices of mango on top and a fantastic mango sauce Our waitress was intent to find a gluten free sauce for us and provided a combo sauce - half pink / half darker color (unsure the actual flavor but it was good). Before tonight, we have known that Ninja has the cook-at-your-table hibachi grill but we've only ever enjoyed their sushi. Tonight... I ventured to their hot food. I didn't have much to eat earlier in the day, so I ordered a side of shrimp fried rice and I'm very glad I did... great flavors egg and onions, and fantastic rice unto itself. Thank you, Nan

I didn't realize that they shut down at the end of lunch and open back up for dinner. With that being said they didn't rush me or make me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to be seated at a habachi table. The clear soup was very good. The salad with ginger dressing was excellent. The chicken lomein was great too. The price was very good. There is plenty of parking in this strip mall. I love the atmosphere. I would love to come back for dinner.

The shrimp was amazing! It was perfectly cooked and sauced, but the chicken was a mess.. the amount of sauce they put on it was unbearable and there wasn't enough meat to counter act it. I tried to push passed it and force it down but the rice and vegetables weren't cooked at all- it felt more like chewing gum than eating rice. I also had the miso soup and while it was delicious, the tofu inside tasted more like rubber than the soup itself and left a metallic taste in my mouth.. And while the sauce on shrimp was great, the sauce on the chicken looked more like goop and tasted like barbecue sauce more than actual teriyaki sauce. I know that everyone has different tastes, but I have been to a number of different hibachi/sushi restaurants and I have never walked out of one without eating my meal. Lastly, the atmosphere gave me and my friend a weird vibe before we even sat down. It may have been our mistake to not acknowledge the red flags, but looking at other reviews, I feel we made a good decision by not speaking with the staff about our issues. While we didn't have much interaction with staff outside of the woman at the front counter, the interactions we did have were rude, passive aggressive, and it genuinely seemed like she hated working there. I also work in customer service so I understand the toll it can take, but we were the only customers in the store and I would have gotten fired if I treated a customer the way we were treated. And sorry ladies, but one of the weird things we noticed was that there was no women's bathroom. There was a men's and a gender neutral bathroom.. it may be a weird thing to notice, but just a heads up... This was the first meal of the day that we had eaten, and I'm not sure about my friend but I have a stomach ache that will not going away anytime soon..
