My wife and I have gone here a handful of times and we thoroughly enjoy it every time. From the plethora of sushi offered to the Bento Boxes there is a little bit of everything for everyone! Gyoza was a little overdone and not as flavorful as I like. Instead of being more dumpling texture they were more crisp like crab rangoon. The spicy tuna roll was way too spicy for my liking and I love spicy! I think it would have had more flavor if less cayenne were used. The rainbow roll is always a favorite and this one did not disappoint. The various fish were all fresh and had great taste. Hands down the best sushi I've eaten in St. Louis in years! I highly recommend any of the Nigiri rolls, good idea roll and new lobster roll. It was difficult to see if this place was open due to the doors and windows being covered. The lady who served us was extremely nice! The miso soup tasted extremely fresh! Many places serve it when it's too old and you can start tasting the pot it sits in. Unfortunately the sushi rolls we got were simply subpar quality. Everything was too dry to work together. Everything was perfect! I ordered 2 rolls both cut in small bites, the rainbow roll minus crab (allergic) and the Maria roll - both delicious and perfect in bite size. I also ordered a side salad, which was simple but large enough for sharing; I am in love with the dressing, which I think is a mix of Dijon, rice wine vinegar, and maybe some minced ginger- whatever, it is excellent. The miso soup was also good, and I still have most of it left. There was enough that I finished the sushi and salad for breakfast. For sushi, I feel like it was a good value with great taste. I debated between 3 & 4 stars. The food was good. The miss soup was AMAZING. Favorite roll was the big spider. The pot stickers we're good but nothing out of the norm, and the other rolls were fine. It's the timing that was bad. So why debate about three stars... They were extremely short staffed which is fine but the place was filling up. It took about 10-15 minutes to get drinks including water and a total around 40 minutes to get our food. It looked like they were doing food one table at a time and the table before us ordered a ton so we waited and waited. Even to get the salad and soup took that same time. She obviously apologized at the end and someone else came running in to help cook which probably helped the people after us but yeah... Timing was bad! They probably need to rethink their cooking strategy so they don't serve table to table but hopefully get food our to more tables more quickly. But again the tables were almost full probably about 4-5 tables that we're empty and then only two people working initially. If I go back, and it's the same bad service, I'll knock it down to the three. But man that miss soup saved the start read more
