Decent sushi, painfully long wait times for food. I'm hoping their ability to run an AYCE for a full restaurant has improved since I visited, but I have to base my review on my personal experience on May 17, during their soft opening phase. We arrived on a Sunday for an early dinner, around 5pm. For two of us, we were seated relatively quickly and given menus. The restaurant was only at half capacity when we placed our first order, which we received within 15 minutes. When it came time for our second order, it was busier and the restaurant was nearly full, and we only received 2 of the 4 items we asked for, which took about 20 minutes. When we checked in on the status of our missing items, a server told us there was a 90 minute wait time for more food!! So we asked for the check and we left. We had also overheard the table across from us complaining about a long wait for food. So much for all you can eat. We were here for 70 minutes and only got two rounds of food orders, one which was incomplete. The quality of the sushi itself was good for AYCE. But I won't be returning until I hear the service and food wait time has greatly improved.

We have been here several times and really enjoyed it- this time we brought a friend who we had been singing the praises of this as our new go to sushi AYCE place... We came early on Thursday evening- around 4pm. We were the only people there when we first arrived. The hostess wanted us to sit at the first booth in the restaurant- we asked if we could sit further back. We were able to pick a table- but the hostess didn't seem happy about it. He then pointed to the QR code to order from- we asked if we could order in person. We were just ignored at that point so ultimately needed to use the QR code to place our orders This made visiting hard and less social trying to navigate the ordering process We couldn't figure out why the QR ordering limited us on quantities- when we got the bill at the end we quickly saw why. He had only entered 2 people at our table- so the quantity for ordering was less. We were charged for the correct number of people. The same host spent the whole time just standing at the hostess desk the whole time we were there. He did seat 2 other tables while we were there- over the course of 90 minutes Not sure what is going on with the smell in the restrooms- it has a very strong sewer smell that is very unappetizing- we went at the end of our meal to wash our hands. Our guest didn't go to the restroom here- so he didn't experience the foul smell. Also several items were different from times before... the Adashi tofu was not nearly as good as the last 2 times we went- the breading was different this time. The tuna cones were different this time, the shrimp tacos had 2 tempura shrimp on them, last time was 3. We had shared with our friend about the tacos and so his first comment was did a shrimp fall off. Overall the food was still good- but the QR ordering should not be mandatory. It took away from our dinning experience I shared this time with several friends who I had sent photos of the food and menu to- suggesting they go here. They all agreed they will not deal with the QR ordering- they will ask when they first arrive to order in person. If they are told no- they will go eat elsewhere

Price increase in less than a week!? I'm updating my review by dropping this place from a 4 to a regular 3 star. All the reasons why I rated them a 4 star has been sadly changed. In less than one week, they have increased all their prices for AYCE and moved some items to a higher tier. I had the a Silver tier last time and raved mainly about the Hamachi Kama and Hotate. I came back to order those again along with trying their lobster roll. Those items are now in the Gold tier along with many others such as the sake toro, hamachi, ika, and tako. The ikura jumped to the highest Diamond tier. The hotate, which was a nice large sized scallop has now disappeared. Please refer to my pics to see notable size difference. The hamachi kama and fried oysters were the same. The hamachi sashimi were consistent with my first order but then tasted different from my second. I ordered the spider and lobster rolls - nothing to rave about. The service was noticeably slow. They were not busy for my early dinner visit but somehow completely missed my first order of sashimi. Service was slower compared to last time even though there were less customers. Unfortunately, they won't be getting my business again. This place is no longer worth the drive for me. In addition, based on their price point - I have other options locally.

I'm kind of surprised at some of these reviews, but to each their own. My bf and I came on a Thursday right before 5-6pm so it wasn't busy at all. We were excited to try a new AYCE sushi place as there are not many good ones in the area. Our server was nice and was able to explain some of the food options that I inquired about. He mentioned that the rolls come out to about 10 pieces but you can order half sizes for 5 pieces. I really liked that because I don't think many AYCE sushi places offer half sizes. Service was ok but we also had our server change in between the time we were there without us being notified. Not much of a big deal and the other server was able to help us anyway. I think the restaurant could benefit from the use of tablets at tables for AYCE so that people don't have to try to wave down a server to order, but that's just my opinion. My bf and I did the gold tier for $40. We ordered: -mizu king roll, which I liked better than the kissing fire roll -heart attack, which is pretty much just stuffed jalapeño bombs but we liked it -kissing fire roll, it was good -unagi sushi taco, which we liked the concept and flavor -tuna cone, a cute concept similar to a mini poke bowl but would have loved some kind of sauce -all of the seared sushi except for a couple that they didn't have available. We thought the seared sushi was our favorite and you can order it with mayo, spicy mayo or no mayo -tempura chicken, which is exactly how it sounds. Idk what I was expecting, but it was just chicken pieces covered in tempura batter and it wasn't very flavorful -1 unagi and 1 fish sashimi, which we didn't get any frozen pieces in contrast to some other reviews but we didn't care for the fish sashimi

Not too long ago, I visited Mizu for my mom's birthday lunch. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't what I was hoping for. My family of 5 ordered the Gold Tier menu, but the service was extremely slow. We waited over 30 minutes just to get water and have a chance to place our order. The food was pretty mediocre and didn't really live up to the price or the wait. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a modern vibe and great ambiance, but overall I was disappointed with the experience, especially for a special occasion. Sadly, I don't think I'll be coming back.

As one of the customers who dined here on their opening day (4/7), I was genuinely impressed by the entire experience at Mizu Sushi. The fish was incredibly fresh, every dish was delicious, and the presentation was absolutely beautiful. You can really tell they put care into both the quality and details of the food. The service was also outstanding -- everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming even during the busy grand opening. Honestly, this is the best AYCE sushi restaurant I've had in the Bay Area so far. Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Tried Mizu Sushi for AYCE and had a great experience! We went with the Silver Menu for $29.99, and it was definitely worth it. I especially loved the assortment of nigiri options--my absolute favorite was the Hotate (sea scallop), which was fresh, buttery, and delicious. Service was great from start to finish, and the staff were attentive Highly recommend Mizu if you're looking for a solid all-you-can-eat sushi spot with quality fish and great service. I'll definitely be back!

I had heard that this place opened recently, and was recommended by my work colleagues. I know the location well and it was easily accessible by the parking garage of the adjacent movie theater. I went in for an early lunch and strictly there for the Nigri rolls. They had a Silver and a Gold which the AYCE was either $31.99 or $41.99 with different options. I went for the Silver with the Katsu options. I did have at least 8-10 specialty rolls to choose from alomg with Edamane , Misu soup and Gyozas to start with. I had ordered a few Rolls and a Hot tea. The California Roll, Shaggy Roll, and Ebi and the Dynamite rolls. You get a time span of 90 mins. and have to order on the QR code when placing the order. When you order your food, there is a time limit of 10 minutes span until you get to re order again. The wait staff is nice and very informative. The rolls were good sized but looking back, I probably should have gotten some Katsu, or at least some Gyozas since I was still hungry although I did not want to be too full. The food and I saw that came out looked good, but I didn't see much variety with Silver options when it came to Nigri rolls. Catapiller/ and different types of Spicy Tuna/ Lion King/ Vegetarian rolls, along with Tempura options. I will go and try more of their menu and get the $41.99 with more options.

STOP gaslighting your customers!!! I'm NOT the only one that has complained (as you claimed)!!!

Mixed feelings... I feel this restaurant has amazing potential. The sushi is a bit above average with the ability to even get better. It's definitely not the best I've ever had, but overall, it satisfied. Again... additional criticism I have, can also be easily improved. First, is the bathroom situation! I don't know what the heck is going on with their sewer system, but we were sat at a table near the bathrooms and I didn't last two minutes. It was absolutely horrendous... the lingering odor of backed up sewer was overwhelming and a huge turnoff. Luckily we relocated... but had there not been another table available upfront, we would've left. It is absolutely NOT doable. Be smart and don't waste your time if near the restroom seating is your only option. Definitely a dealbreaker. Now that I see it has been mentioned to them in reviews prior to my visit I'm a little bit angry that the server gaslighted me the way they did. She even went so far as to say she sat at that same table at her lunch break and there was no problem. Horsepucky... half of your restaurant seating absolutely REEKS. On the topic of servers... I know they are newly opened, but as any business owner should uphold... please DO NOT put servers on the floor that barely have any idea what they're doing, lack the ability to even be pleasant and radiate their insecurity and unhappiness! Make sure they well trained enough to have confidence in their job. It made our dinner visit a super awkward and clumsy situation. No bueno. And thirdly... ditch that stupid QR scan menu, self ordering system or at least, verbally offer face to face service as an option. I for one, don't go out to dinner to juggle a menu, my phone and my food at the same time. Yes, we did end up finally getting face-to-face service but it was never offered to us and I believe they only accommodated us because I was ready to walk. Please stop. Will I return? Yes, I probably will. BUT, I will definitely be giving them a considerable buffer of time to work out their kinks before I do.

We went back for our second time with our family and unfortunately have to adjust my review. The quality of the sashimi had gone down- our salmon sashimi was still frozen and the taste of the fish quality also went down. In addition, we had to wait a long time for our food, especially the sashimi. It's like they don't want to serve us that. I felt like we sat down for 20 minutes with no food coming- the sashimi was definitely longer than that and we kept asking them about it. Hoping it's just an one off day, will give them another try at a later date to see if they worked out all their kinks.

I will admit, I was a little hesitant to try this place solo. AYCE table service sushi can be a challenge for a single diner. The objective is to taste a variety; that's not easy with full size rolls and dishes; you can fill up on full size orders very quickly. I was looking at the menu. Asked about half-size rolls. Was told "no". I asked for a few more minutes. When a server returned, I pointed at a roll on the Specials list... asked how big. Server said "we can do a half if you want." I looked up - it was a different server! I ordered the Gold menu. Started with 1/2 Golden Gate Roll, Hiyayakko Tofu, no Bonita, a rainbow taco, and veggie tempura. All were excellent... the tofu is huge, think size of a 1/2 lb block of cream cheese. I asked my server, I'll order 1/2 next time. The taco is seaweed held in shape by translucent rice paper - adds good crunch. Ordered some sashimi, 1/2 Mizu King Roll, and tuna tataki. All great. The white tuna was nearly frozen - minor detraction. Had nigiri Ikura, Hamachi Kama. Asked about Unagi cone, but then asked if I could get 1/2 and Unagi Bowl, and ordered that. Again, all excellent, and truly one of the best Hamachi Kama I've had. Much more meat than many restaurants. Before I left, I spoke to my server again. Expressed my appreciation for being able to get 1/2 orders. She explained: THEY'LL DO 1/2 ORDERS FOR SINGLE DINERS, BUT NOT GROUPS, which makes sense. If every table with multiple diners ordered half- portions, it would back up the kitchen - parties of two or more can share. (My explanation, not the restaurant's). As a frequent solo diner, it was refreshing to be accommodated. Everything was fresh. Hot food hot. Service was excellent. No nonsense about timing, or leaving one item half-finished. They didn't seen to be enforcing the limits per round for any tables near mine. I'll definitely go back. It was much better than anticipated - truly excellent.

This new AYCE sushi place I'm honestly obsessed. They just open like 2 days ago. The sushi tasted incredibly fresh, like every piece just melted in my mouth. Their fish quality was amazing, and you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The rolls were perfectly balanced and beautifully presented, If you love fresh sushi and cozy vibes, this place is definitely one of the best sushi spots in Pleasant Hill. I no longer need to drive to SF or San Jose for sushi anymore. Services are amazing

    Diamond package May-26

BE CAREFUL BEFORE CHOOSING A DINING PACKAGE. We came there mainly for the ama ebi and o-toro from the diamond package only to find out after choosing the package that the restaurant was out of o-toro and ikura. There's no uni or takitori. I was told those items were only available during their soft opening. Don't get the golden crab. It may look like snow crab legs but it's actually imitation crab. Not only that, they didn't have any salmon belly from the lower tier package. We had to ask a second time if there was any before choosing other stuff. The miso soup was bland. Salad was just head lettuce with dressing. The hot sauce used for the spicy scallop was overpowering. The wagyu curry was too watery. I paid $61.99/person for the diamond package. The place is pretty small. It's questionable whether I'm coming back here again.

We'd always only gone for their lunch menu before, but we were really craving sushi and sashimi last night, so we thought Fuji would be the best place to go since we were starving!! We noticed that the dinner menu wasn't that much different from the lunch. Seems like only a handful of items are added, so we still made sure to try some of those dinner-only items. One was the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, and it was absolutely delicious! The whole thing was edible, so there was no need to de-shell the crab, and the tempura batter was nice and crispy. The crab also didn't taste fishy at all. I also liked that they served it with a tempura dipping sauce on the side because it helped refresh the dish and cut back on the greasiness a little bit. Another thing I was really super curious to try was the Smoked Salmon. I did order it, but I think the guy working at the sashimi section misheard me and ended up giving me regular salmon instead - boo! I wanted to go back and order more later, but by that point I was already really full, so I decided not to be greedy. Other than that, everything else was pretty much the same as the lunch offerings. In general, my brother and I really like this place. It's definitely our go-to spot when it comes to all you can eat sushi and sashimi. My brother and I love getting a huge plate of sashimi with a variety of fish like Salmon, Yellowtail, Mackerel, and even Unagi too. I also love how quick the service was, and they impose no limitation on how many times we can order or how many items we can get each round. We just feel really comfortable eating here. We'll definitely come back again in the near future!

Parking was a bit tricky as they had some sort of event and a lot of the streets were closed off so I had to drive around a bunch of times. Luckily I came earlier than my reservation time. It was pretty nice weather out so I opted for a table outside but the ambiance is nice inside. Dim setting if you want to sit inside. I ordered a spicy pineapple margarita for my drink but it tasted like it didn't have any alcohol in it so that was a bummer so I didn't really want to order any other drink. I ordered the spicy edamame for appetizer, but it wasn't spicy and lacked a little in flavor/seasoning. I still ate it as I needed some sort of vegetables. For my food, I ordered my favorite salmon melt! This is a must order when you come. Always a hit! (I dipped my edamame in the sauce and it added great flavor to it lol) They had a Mother's Day special for handrolls and I was tempted to try it but didn't want to be super full, so I got two nigiri's instead; one hamachi and one spicy scallop. Both were so good! I would definitely order it again. Hamachi was fresh and soft. Easy to chew. Spicy scallop was made with a spicy mayo and cut up into pieces. Both were really good portion sizes. I was full but wanted to order more cause they were so good. I was offered the dessert menu but I was full so I didn't order any. Love coming to Sasa. Great service, great food and nice restaurant. If you get a chance, definitely check them out!

I was quoted 30 mins due to all the parties ahead of me, it was really 10 mins. The staff were all nice, super attentive. The restaurant was extremely clean! The moment I sat down I was greeted by my waitress which I loved! Now let's get to the food! I ordered a shrimp tempura roll for my appetizer and the chicken teriyaki as my main entree, and a lemonade for my beverage. Everything was a 10/10! I got full off my appetizer so I ended up eating a few bites of my entree and taking the rest home. All that food for literally that amazing price! I see why they were packed! I had this placed saved in my bookmarks and I will most definitely be back! I think I found a new favorite!

I highly recommend making a reservation if you're coming with a larger group. The restaurant is quite spacious inside. Since our party was large, we were seated in a semi-private room. Another group was sharing the space with us, but it wasn't an issue and we still had a comfortable dining experience. Most of my coworkers ordered bento boxes, and the portions were very generous. I ordered the Salmon Lovers Roll and also tried a few of the other sushi rolls that we shared around the table. Overall, I've been wanting to try this place for a while since my coworkers have been raving about it, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I would absolutely come back again. It's conveniently located and just a short walk from my workplace, making it a great lunch spot.
