I came around 5:30, the wait time was about 5 minutes. The staff were fairly quick with the food. I like the carpaccios. The beef katsu was ok. Definitely focus more on the sashimi than rolls. They play edm music and the seating is pretty close to one another.

There's a reason why I look more like a Panda bear than a Panther. It's places like this. Sheesh. C'mon man. $42 for quality, I mean really great quality sushi and it's all you can eat. Bro. I spend more than a hundred doll-hairs at a mediocre pay as your order sushi spot so this is a steal. Just be warned though, eat everything you order or else the sushi taxman will go after you. If you know, you can figure the rest out when you get here. What did the sushi say to the other sushi? ... Wuz-Up B!!! Comment below if you got that one

By far my new favorite AYCE sushi spot in the east bay! I love that you can choose different levels based on the menu items you want, and I went with the Gold for $39.99, which includes sushi bar specials, entrées, katsu, seared sushi, sashimi, sushi tacos, and sushi cones. I was especially a huge fan of the sushi tacos and sushi cones. The fish tasted fresh, and as a salmon lover, I was in heaven. There's also a parking garage behind the building, and there's typically no wait even on weekends. I'll definitely be returning to try more menu items!

My husband and I decided to give this place a try since it's close to our home. Parking was easy, with a parking garage conveniently located behind the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn't busy at all, so we were seated right away. After we sat down, our server handed us the menu and asked us to choose a menu option so he could enter it into the system. From there, we placed all of our orders through our phones. We chose the Gold Menu, which included a wide variety of options. We ordered the salmon sashimi, scallop sashimi, tuna, seared salmon nigiri, and seared scallop nigiri. Unfortunately, the salmon sashimi tasted a little icy, and the scallop was overly fishy with a mushy texture. The seared nigiri selections were decent. The fried oysters were definitely a highlight and a must-order. The spicy salmon over crispy rice was good, but I wish the rice had been crispier--it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. The sushi tacos were stale, which was disappointing. The new-style sashimi was also strange, and we even found fish scales on one of the pieces. On the other hand, the jalapeño salmon carpaccio was delicious and one of our favorite dishes. Overall, the restaurant is on the smaller side, and the food was very hit or miss. While there were a few standout dishes, the inconsistencies outweighed the positives. Personally, I wouldn't return, as I think there are plenty of other sushi spots that offer better quality and a more consistent dining experience.

Decided to try something and came here all the way from SF and it did not disappoint. The quality of the salmon sashimi was really good, very buttery. Service was also really good! I like how they have a QR code so you don't have to ask them to come back each round.

I heard a lot of good things about Mizu, so I came in with high expectations. After trying it, I don't think it's for me. The biggest issue was the fish. It didn't taste very fresh and had more of a frozen texture and flavor. That made it hard to enjoy the sushi, especially at an AYCE place where the quality of the fish really matters. The one thing I did like was the hamachi kama. It was cooked well and ended up being my favorite item of the meal. The service was fine and the food came out at a decent pace, but I don't think I'd come back. It might still be worth trying for yourself, but it just didn't live up to the hype for me.

Decent sushi, painfully long wait times for food. I'm hoping their ability to run an AYCE for a full restaurant has improved since I visited, but I have to base my review on my personal experience on May 17, during their soft opening phase. We arrived on a Sunday for an early dinner, around 5pm. For two of us, we were seated relatively quickly and given menus. The restaurant was only at half capacity when we placed our first order, which we received within 15 minutes. When it came time for our second order, it was busier and the restaurant was nearly full, and we only received 2 of the 4 items we asked for, which took about 20 minutes. When we checked in on the status of our missing items, a server told us there was a 90 minute wait time for more food!! So we asked for the check and we left. We had also overheard the table across from us complaining about a long wait for food. So much for all you can eat. We were here for 70 minutes and only got two rounds of food orders, one which was incomplete. The quality of the sushi itself was good for AYCE. But I won't be returning until I hear the service and food wait time has greatly improved.

I went right at open on a weekday, the service was good, and the environment is cozy. The fish itself was delicious, and definitely worth the price, but my only piece of feedback or critique is that the sushi rice was not seasoned, and that kind of ruined the meal for me. I ended up just ordering sashimi after realizing this. I eat a lot of sushi, of all different price points and qualities, and the rice absolutely makes or breaks the sushi. The texture was good, but sushi rice should be seasoned. I hope that changes, I'd love to go back and try again!

Price increase in less than a week!? I'm updating my review by dropping this place from a 4 to a regular 3 star. All the reasons why I rated them a 4 star has been sadly changed. In less than one week, they have increased all their prices for AYCE and moved some items to a higher tier. I had the a Silver tier last time and raved mainly about the Hamachi Kama and Hotate. I came back to order those again along with trying their lobster roll. Those items are now in the Gold tier along with many others such as the sake toro, hamachi, ika, and tako. The ikura jumped to the highest Diamond tier. The hotate, which was a nice large sized scallop has now disappeared. Please refer to my pics to see notable size difference. The hamachi kama and fried oysters were the same. The hamachi sashimi were consistent with my first order but then tasted different from my second. I ordered the spider and lobster rolls - nothing to rave about. The service was noticeably slow. They were not busy for my early dinner visit but somehow completely missed my first order of sashimi. Service was slower compared to last time even though there were less customers. Unfortunately, they won't be getting my business again. This place is no longer worth the drive for me. In addition, based on their price point - I have other options locally.

I'm kind of surprised at some of these reviews, but to each their own. My bf and I came on a Thursday right before 5-6pm so it wasn't busy at all. We were excited to try a new AYCE sushi place as there are not many good ones in the area. Our server was nice and was able to explain some of the food options that I inquired about. He mentioned that the rolls come out to about 10 pieces but you can order half sizes for 5 pieces. I really liked that because I don't think many AYCE sushi places offer half sizes. Service was ok but we also had our server change in between the time we were there without us being notified. Not much of a big deal and the other server was able to help us anyway. I think the restaurant could benefit from the use of tablets at tables for AYCE so that people don't have to try to wave down a server to order, but that's just my opinion. My bf and I did the gold tier for $40. We ordered: -mizu king roll, which I liked better than the kissing fire roll -heart attack, which is pretty much just stuffed jalapeño bombs but we liked it -kissing fire roll, it was good -unagi sushi taco, which we liked the concept and flavor -tuna cone, a cute concept similar to a mini poke bowl but would have loved some kind of sauce -all of the seared sushi except for a couple that they didn't have available. We thought the seared sushi was our favorite and you can order it with mayo, spicy mayo or no mayo -tempura chicken, which is exactly how it sounds. Idk what I was expecting, but it was just chicken pieces covered in tempura batter and it wasn't very flavorful -1 unagi and 1 fish sashimi, which we didn't get any frozen pieces in contrast to some other reviews but we didn't care for the fish sashimi

My friend and I ate here on Sunday for lunch. We chose gold for the all you can eat. It was $41.99 for the gold. We ordered the braised salmon, braised tuna, braised scallop, unagi nigiri. The braised salmon tasted like a salmon I ordered at Sushiro in Japan. Their sushi tasted like sushi from Japan. They had a couple of unique items like sushi taco and sushi cone. My friend ordered a sushi taco and a sushi cone. She said the sushi cone was better than the sushi taco and the seaweed tasted like a seaweed chip on the sushi taco. The employees were very nice and it was a good place to satisfy our sushi craving. I would eat here again and recommend this restaurant to others.

I love me an AYCE sushi! Service was great but you can def tell they just opened. Still getting the hang of it so be patient. Interior was nice! But you can smell very light bleach when get sat down at your table. Sashimi and nigiri was so good! Fresh but one thing I'll say is if we're paying extra for Wagyu.. is i would love to enjoy in the AYCE for the price we pay for. Thick cut could be thinner to enjoy that bite in one. Bit too tough. And also the salmon taco I asked if they can torch it but was denied.. honestly could be something good to the menu. Overall love the quality.. I'd come back hoping there's some adjustment

We have been here several times and really enjoyed it- this time we brought a friend who we had been singing the praises of this as our new go to sushi AYCE place... We came early on Thursday evening- around 4pm. We were the only people there when we first arrived. The hostess wanted us to sit at the first booth in the restaurant- we asked if we could sit further back. We were able to pick a table- but the hostess didn't seem happy about it. He then pointed to the QR code to order from- we asked if we could order in person. We were just ignored at that point so ultimately needed to use the QR code to place our orders This made visiting hard and less social trying to navigate the ordering process We couldn't figure out why the QR ordering limited us on quantities- when we got the bill at the end we quickly saw why. He had only entered 2 people at our table- so the quantity for ordering was less. We were charged for the correct number of people. The same host spent the whole time just standing at the hostess desk the whole time we were there. He did seat 2 other tables while we were there- over the course of 90 minutes Not sure what is going on with the smell in the restrooms- it has a very strong sewer smell that is very unappetizing- we went at the end of our meal to wash our hands. Our guest didn't go to the restroom here- so he didn't experience the foul smell. Also several items were different from times before... the Adashi tofu was not nearly as good as the last 2 times we went- the breading was different this time. The tuna cones were different this time, the shrimp tacos had 2 tempura shrimp on them, last time was 3. We had shared with our friend about the tacos and so his first comment was did a shrimp fall off. Overall the food was still good- but the QR ordering should not be mandatory. It took away from our dinning experience I shared this time with several friends who I had sent photos of the food and menu to- suggesting they go here. They all agreed they will not deal with the QR ordering- they will ask when they first arrive to order in person. If they are told no- they will go eat elsewhere

It seemed there were a lot of takeout orders and they were possibly short staffed since there was just one person packing the takeout orders and seating us / taking orders and bringing the food. After we ordered, we got our waters and it took another 30+ mins for the first couple dishes and even longer for the others. We were there for 2 hours! Ugh!!!! The food itself was good and portions were satisfactory as they were above average. A lot of izakaya a was above average, especially the wait time haha. We tried the following- Gobo chips- more of gobo tempura. It came with a mentaiko sauce which I really enjoyed. Pretty greasy and a lot more batter than I prefer with gobo chips. Gyoza- pretty standard, but good. A Special Roll- soft shell crab inside with avocado and salmon outside were the highlights. Few pieces, but decently sized. Pretty good roll overall. Ocha-zuke- Love these tea / dashi rice with pack of flavor and wasabi. Got both the salmon one and the spicy cod roe ones. Both were good. Love chazuke. Chicken karaage- says 5 pieces, and they were humongous! Tonkotsu ramen- didn't look so appealing, but was alright Bento box with chicken, mix tempura, California roll- he liked the box. I didn't try anything here. I'd come back if it was guaranteed that the food wouldn't take sooooo long. The person serving was nice and had great attitude. They def checked on regulars more often.
