Great portion for lunch service. Happened to be stuck at a light and went here on a whim...while stopping at Publix. The lunch portions were very nice and the food came out fresh as well tasty. Gotta come back to try the other dishes like ramen , bento boxes, or other sushi rolls

My husband and I decided to try this place out on a whim. From the outside it is simple and unassuming but once inside the decor is elegant and understated. My husband laughed because I kept saying how pretty the interior was The portions are generous and everything was flavorful and came out quickly! We tried the sushi chips, pan fried gyoza, the shrimp hibachi which came with soup and salad, a spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, yummy yummy roll and a beauty Alaska roll with no cucumber. Our waitress was quick and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Will certainly be back

Tried this place on a whim for take out and it was quick and good. I prefer my sushi rolls to be cut smaller but they were still flavorful and well made. The kid's chicken hibachi was delicious and a big portion. Would go back to try other things on the menu. Inside of restaurant is modern and inviting.

2nd time getting sushi- and yes definitely make this a regular sushi hit since we love done the road . Fish taste fresh, and overall great sushi ingredients. Being from Hawaii and just moving from there - this sushi definitely is amazing , helps when we don't want to drive all the way to Orlando for sushi/ poke. We have tried many rolls. These are the city roll, burning man and mariner roll. We did try them first lol

Great new restaurant close to Sunbridge and Lake Nona. The decorations and ambience are beautiful and very well done. The service was great. We loved the food and the variety of options that they had available. We had sushi but are looking forward to coming back for some of their other food options. Great new addition to the area!

I enjoyed our takeout lunch from Mizu Sushi. I don't usually do take out but this platter and the other cooked and raw dishes we were tasty and good to eat. I heard the inside of the restaurant is nice and look forward to trying it soon.

Upon entering one is greeted with a warm welcome. We began with our drink order which was hot green tea or jasmin. The tea was served in a teapot and honey in a small dipping dish. For an appetizer we tried their crab Rangoon. Surprisingly there was actually meat in them and they were delicious. As for the sushi every bite was perfect.

Came across this new sushi place next to Publix. The sushi was great with filling portions, I had to take a to-go box. Our waiter was very attentive and asked me several times if I needed anything. Most importantly I got my food super quick, which was perfect for me right after work.

I don't feel they do a great job explaining their menu to people who are unfamiliar with udon, especially cuz there are no pictures for them to see what they're ordering. It was fine for me as I'm super familiar with Japanese food. We got tempura udon, which is something I've been craving, and they did a great job. I highly recommend it. We didn't feel like a cocktail so I got an iced tea and he got a viet coffee but they served it in a cocktail glass so it was such a small amount... def shoulda been served in a tall glass, cuz why do I have to be slowly sipping that c'mon. The service was good. They were all friendly and courteous. Oh, parking is a nightmare. There's a lot in the back but you'll be lucky to find a spot. There's street parking but that's also crazy. Def not their fault but just be aware. All in all a nice place. I'd def come back again for their food.

Of the zensai (appetizers), I've tried the Tatsuta-Age, which was pretty tasty. Hot and crispy with good flavor. The udon is also top notch. They make it in house. Perfect chewy texture, what Taiwanese would call "QQ" I realized after my second visit that I still have not tried an udon with hot broth. I've tried the Spicy Miso Tan-Tan Udon, which was quite tasty, although a little on the richer/heavier side. I have also tried the Mentaiko Tsukimi Udon which was refreshing in the cold broth. I paired it with an add-on of sliced beef, which was delicious, they serve it on the side so you can add to whatever dish on your own. What I wouldn't recommend... The Viet Coffee with sesame foam and crushed sesame seeds was hard to drink. I loved the initial flavors but the foam got a little greasy and clumpy when mixed with the crushed sesame seeds, particularly toward the second half of the coffee. I wouldn't order it again. I would be interested to see any updates they've made recently but with so many new restaurants on Mills, I may choose those first.

The restaurant was nicely decorated, much nicer than most of the casual Japanese restaurants that we have recently visited including some in the fancy parts of Winter Park. Nomi has quality chairs and booths! Too many casual food places use these cheap aluminum chairs, not this place, Nomi has first rate chairs. You know it matters, if you're spending hard earned money you shouldn't have to eat on picnic table like furniture. Well, at least I think so... The food selections allow for budget conscious people like me, plus there are other items on the menu if you're looking to splurge, which I bet are amazing. We had a mix of appetizers, shrimp tempura and sushi rolls -everything was great! The place is located in East Orlando at the end of 408, just off E. colonial. There is usually only minimal traffic in this area, and Nomi had plenty of parking out front. We all agreed, Nomi will be our go to place for casual Japanese dinners.

Only one bowl had regular rice while others had Brown Rice (marked with a B) which he informed me. I really wanted a salmon one but it didn't seem like it was made to order since he didn't offer to make one so I just picked up the Tuna one and went on my way. It was 9.99. The bowl had fresh tasting cuts of tuna mixed in a spicy soy sesame blend, edamame, seaweed salad, lettuce, carrots, half of a avocado over rice. I also asked for soy sauce and a little packet of Wasabi. The rice was like half of the bottom of the bowl. Everything was fresh and the rice as well. Lets talk about where Foodoko is located... Foodoko is INSIDE the huge VA building Patriots Cafe so it's not really a easy park and a few steps into the place. It'll take you to go through the gates and then go park either at the lot or in the garage to get to the cafe. Once inside look for the Patriots Cafe and it'll be towards the back of the cafeteria. The VA is a busy place taking care of lot of veterans so take into consideration when you want to venture inside. It a amazing building though. I think overall its a great addition to the VA cafe with better than grocery store sushi. I might swing by around to try a sushi burrito sometime.

The Open-Window Oasis: Maki Hibachi at Lake Nona…read more In a town where many sushi spots can feel like a roll of the dice, Maki Hibachi is the undisputed heavyweight champion of consistency. For me, a trip to Orlando isn't complete without a pilgrimage to this sanctuary of 'top-notch' Japanese cuisine. Walking inside, you're immediately struck by the aesthetic--clean lines, modern decor, and a vibe that manages to be both chic and welcoming. But the real entertainment is the open-concept kitchen. There is a certain culinary thrill in watching the chefs through the open window, knowing that the masterpiece headed to your table is being freshly made-to-order right before your eyes. On this particular mission, I brought my BFF along for her maiden voyage, and safe to say, she's a convert. While I usually pledge my undying loyalty to the Mango Tango--a dance of coconut shrimp and fresh mango--and the decadent Sexy Lobster Roll, we decided to be adventurous and recruited the Monster Lobster Roll into our rotation. It was exactly as the name implies: a delicious, tasty beast of a roll that didn't just meet expectations; it devoured them. Of course, the family traditions remained intact: my sister stayed true to her beloved, generous Bento Box, while my niece happily tackled her reliable mountain of rice and teriyaki chicken. The pro tip for fellow sushi fanatics? Timing is everything. Arrive for the 11:00 AM opening to witness the absolute peak of freshness, or catch them when they re-open at 5:00 PM after their 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM 'beauty sleep'. In a world of 'average' sushi, why would you go anywhere else when Maki Hibachi is consistently serving up excellence with a side of friendly service? In a world of conveyor-belt confusion, Maki Hibachi is my personal sushi sanctuary. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a 'top-notch' mission I make every single time I'm in Orlando. If you haven't been here yet, consider this your formal invitation to excellence.
