Token Ramen has become one of my family's go-to spots, and we're lucky to have it so close to home. We eat here regularly, and the food and service keep us coming back. The tonkotsu pork ramen is excellent--rich, flavorful, and always hits the spot. They also offer a great lunch special that gives you a lot of value for the price. The rice and chicken bowl is another favorite, and the Ninja Chicken is a must-order appetizer with plenty of flavor and a nice kick. One thing that often gets overlooked is their sushi, which is surprisingly good as well. Everything we've tried has been fresh, well-prepared, and a great option if not everyone in your group is craving ramen. The restaurant is clean, has a nice atmosphere, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. It's the kind of local spot that becomes part of your regular rotation. Our server was pleasant enough but too attentive and the person who dropped off our food to the table seemed to struggle with a way to put the plates down. Mind you there was plenty of room. Does that mean service was bad? No. But it was awkward and not as attentive as I have experienced in the past. This time in, they had a coconut shrimp special that was super yummy and I hope they make it permanent. The ramen is good, I ordered spicy curry and it was a little spicy but didn't really get a curry flavor. My favorite was the romantic roll! Ingredients were fresh and complimented one another and I love a little variety in textures and flavors. The tiny slice of lemon made it fresh as well and complimented the roe, tuna & salmon. It was so good I ordered a second to go. Space is clean and conveniently located which I appreciated. My boyfriend and I visited Token Ramen for the first time and had a great experience overall. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. I like it because we could talk without screaming. The place made for a relaxing meal, and we really liked the simple yet elegant decor. We started with Ramune (Japanese soda)--I got the grape flavor. It reminded me of the old-school Fanta grape, and I loved it! We did struggle a bit trying to open the bottle, but our waiter noticed and kindly helped us out. Next, we ordered the wings. We've tried a lot of wings in different places, but these were definitely extra crispy--and extra salty. You could actually see the crystals of salt on them. They came with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce, which was a nice touch. My boyfriend thought they were too crispy, and I found them a bit too salty, but still flavorful. For the main course, he had the chicken shoyu ramen and enjoyed most of it, except for the kikurage (wood ear mushroom)--not his favorite. I went with the signature black garlic ramen, which came with two large slices of pork. I ate kikurage, I am an Asian, so it didn't bother me at all. I actually ate his Kikurage. Came here for lunch today and I wanted a Lunch Bento. When you think of any Japanese or Ramen spot you would assume they would service bento lunches as well. NOPE not here. Hence "ramen" on the name they specialize in ramen soups really. The location is in lake nona nearby the job, Its in a shopping plaza. The interior decor is modern savvy and pretty minimalist type. As I got seated I had to scoot back the table and noticed the leg of the table got wobbly. So I requested to move to the next table for comfort. I read the menu and noticed they do offer lunch specials but its not Bento style. Even as lunch specials or what not the listings do not offer miso or side salad with the meal. So that turned me off. They do not even have miso soup as a option in the menu. Weird. They had a Braised Pork with Egg rice bowl for $12. I was assuming the authentic recipe of this in japan is Pork Belly in sweet savory brown sauce simmered down. When I received the rice bowl, It had broccoli , Steamed rice, "Cubed" meat and a half of a soft boiled marinated boil egg. The pork as you can see in the picture is DRY and lack moistness and was not pork belly type cut. I did not even touch the dish at all - All i ate was the half boil egg. I waved at the server and told him that I am not going to eat the rice bowl because the pork for me is not pork belly and I will not pay for the dish. I did inform him I did eat the 1/2 sliced egg. I was HANGRY. The Tamago sashimi was not made in house - I can tell by texture and taste and you do not get a ful slab of Tamago its sliced in triangles. Water here was good and cold filled in a cold silver tin cup. Staff was ok - When I stated to server I am not going to eat the Pork Bowl and will not pay for it he was fine taking teh dish away from me. He did show the manager the bowl and he billed me for just the tamago. I will not come back here again because the pork bowl threw me off and if they cant even make a decent looking pork bowl that what gives? Avid fan of this place. If I'm ever sick or just need a comfort meal I come here. You can't go from with anything from this menu. They have tons of options even for non ramen eaters. I bring my kids here and they love it. I bring my parents here and no one has trouble finding what they want. The service is 10/10. Everyone is always so patient, friendly and helpful. I was taxiing at MCO and searching for nearby ramen shops. The photos online were enticing enough. My bestie decided this was the day to try takoyaki. She thought it was great. I am not a fan, so I didn't try. I did get the chicken wings to start and thought they were delicious. Chose the tonkotsu and added corn, chili oil on the side. The broth was super flavorful and not too salty. I have never done a pulled pork in my ramen and thought theirs was SO tasty! Mushrooms are my favorite and the serving size was wonderful. Finally tried Token Ramen! There is a lot of seating and they have a pretty good variety of menu options for sushi and ramen. I ordered a rainbow roll and spicy tonkatsu. Food came out pretty quick! Rainbow roll was just a typical roll, which was good. I really enjoyed the flavor of my tonkatsu bowl and it was a decent portion. The pork was sliced super thin, so overall not much meat. Also my bowl didn't have much spice at all so I asked the waiter for extra seasoning. They have options to add more/extra to the bowl, but I kept mine as is. Admittedly I did not think this place would be good given it's around the lake Nona area. But I was pleasantly surprised. Even ran into another Asian friend eating there. The ramen was surprisingly good. Flavorful soup stock, springy al dente ramen, delicious half egg and nicely scored pork. Even ordered their black dragon roll which is tempura, avocado, and eel-my favorite combo. My only complaint is that the pork was a little thin and they only gave you half an egg. For my main dish I got the miso tonkotsu and it has pork, corn, bean sprouts and bamboo. The broth is flavorful and noodles was perfectly cooked. Great spot! We had a large party of 16 and called in advance. They happily welcomed us and accommodated our large party with ease. They even asked us once we got there if we had a preference for how the tables were arranged. Our server was amazing. She was attentive, very friendly, and very helpful when we had questions about the menu. Her responses were so thoughtful. After having been to this place a couple of times my summary is this: if it was located across town, I wouldn't make the trek. But because it is down the road from where I live, I am willing to go back for the convenience factor alone. They have a good variety of ramen and sushi dishes that will satisfy a variety of palates, but I do find their dishes to be a bit on the bland side and you can get better of both and many places in town. Of course, they have sauces on the side to doctor your soups up. Service is always good and the food comes out quickly. I'll admit that my opinion is somewhat clouded by the fact that they advertised themselves as being partnered with Kung Fu Tea for the whole year leading up to the open and even had the KFT supplies out during soft open, only to later dissolve that partnership for this location -- you can literally still see where that part of the sign was ripped off the side of the building. read more

I have been on this ramen kick since the change of the weather. Now that is finally getting cooler, I just have this desire for soup-based dishes, and among some of my favorite soup-based dishes, is, of course, ramen. With my good friend, visiting for a few days, we decided to meet up for some ramen near the side of town where she was staying. So, that led us to Token Ramen and Sushi. As a lover of ramen (in just about any and every form), I was too excited to try this spot out. With that noted, let's dive into the good stuff: the review! First impressions, the restaurant was not super busy at all - which was a plus in my book because that meant there would be minimal wait time. As expected, there was no wait time, and we were seated immediately. They had an ample array of seating options and just an ample amount of space in the restaurant in general. I should note, that it is in a plaza that has numerous other shops, vendors, and eateries - so, there are other options to choose from if you want a different cuisine option. Moving on, the overall decor and aesthetic of the restaurant were quite simple, and modern but had some subtle nods to Asian design/culture. Again, it was not busy, so noise levels were very low. You could comfortably carry on a conversation without having to yell or struggle to hear. As far as service goes, the service once seated was exceptional. Our wait time upon ordering was pretty quick - so no complaints in that department. Also, the wait staff was very nice. Now on to the food. The food was good - but not as good as I had set my expectations to considering my dining experiences with other local ramen spots have been exceptional! I ordered their Grilled Chicken Ramen and it was just quite plain. Our waiter went on to telling us we should have added additional toppings - which are listed and sold separately to build on the flavoring of the ramen bowls. However, with that being our first experience with that franchise, we were not aware that was something we should do. So, it was a little disheartening that the ramen didn't live up to the hype. As that was all I ordered, I cannot speak to the rest of the menu, but I did finish my ramen bowl. Overall, my general experience was good. I would go back to try some of their other more popular dishes. Nonetheless, if you are a ramen fan, I say definitely give them a try and pass your own judgment call. I've been meaning to try this spot for awhile since they have a great lunch special on weekdays of rice bowls for $10 or ramen for only $11. I finally got the chance and ended up going on a weekend for lunch. The place was was spacious with plenty of seating available. Our waiter was excellent, was available to answer any questions, and checked in on us to make sure our meal tasted good. And it did. I was actually quite impressed with the tofu ramen ($15), particularly the large portion size. The noodles are salted which combined with the savory broth was on the saltier side for me, but at the time I was in the mood for something savory and I enjoyed it. The veggies tasted fresh, and the noodles had a consistently great texture. My friend tried several of their rolls including the sweet potato, avocado/asparagus/cucumber AAC roll, and the spring rolls. The sweet potato rolls were the favorite and had a balance of textures from the crunchy tempura and softness of the sweet potato.
