Mango Tango, Monster Lobster Roll, and I do not recall the other one.
    Lisette D.

The Open-Window Oasis: Maki Hibachi at Lake Nona In a town where many sushi spots can feel like a roll of the dice, Maki Hibachi is the undisputed heavyweight champion of consistency. For me, a trip to Orlando isn't complete without a pilgrimage to this sanctuary of 'top-notch' Japanese cuisine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking inside, you're immediately struck by the aesthetic--clean lines, modern decor, and a vibe that manages to be both chic and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But the real entertainment is the open-concept kitchen. There is a certain culinary thrill in watching the chefs through the open window, knowing that the masterpiece headed to your table is being freshly made-to-order right before your eyes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On this particular mission, I brought my BFF along for her maiden voyage, and safe to say, she's a convert. While I usually pledge my undying loyalty to the Mango Tango--a dance of coconut shrimp and fresh mango--and the decadent Sexy Lobster Roll, we decided to be adventurous and recruited the Monster Lobster Roll into our rotation. It was exactly as the name implies: a delicious, tasty beast of a roll that didn't just meet expectations; it devoured them. Of course, the family traditions remained intact: my sister stayed true to her beloved, generous Bento Box, while my niece happily tackled her reliable mountain of rice and teriyaki chicken. The pro tip for fellow sushi fanatics? Timing is everything. Arrive for the 11:00 AM opening to witness the absolute peak of freshness, or catch them when they re-open at 5:00 PM after their 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM 'beauty sleep'. In a world of 'average' sushi, why would you go anywhere else when Maki Hibachi is consistently serving up excellence with a side of friendly service? In a world of conveyor-belt confusion, Maki Hibachi is my personal sushi sanctuary. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a 'top-notch' mission I make every single time I'm in Orlando. If you haven't been here yet, consider this your formal invitation to excellence.

Atmosphere of this place is great. Our server was super attentive & nice. Tried the Crab cream cheese rolls, chicken & steak hibachi combo, and a couple Sakitinis - everything was great! Great value for the Sakitinis. Wish there more sushi rolls of tuna/fish without spicy/japaleno additives

We had not had sushi at Maki in a while. We always thought it was average. Not this time!!! They really upped their game. We had 3 rolls to go sans allergens, beautifully packaged and all instructions followed perfectly. Highly, highly recommend!!!! I am so excited to have a great casual sushi option in Lake Nona.

Ive been coming since 2024 trying to try all the menus and never had a miss! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance for having a good time with your friends or family. (Bright/elegant)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I personally would recommend the hibachi if you're feeling hungry, but the sushi dishes are great too. Do note that service can be slower at busier times. Bit on the pricier side but not terrible if you're coming once in a while!

Sunday afternoon my husband and I had a morning of cleaning and then headed out for some shopping and lunch. At first we thought we'd just drive through some Cane's but I really wasn't feeling the heavy greasiness of it and desired something more light and refreshing. We came across Make Hibachi and said, "Lets try it" a sushi roll would be perfect. Upon entering we were greeted and sat right away. They have an extensive menu so I was glad it took our server Steven a moment to get to us. Not pictured, I ordered a peach green tea smash and it was delicious! Refreshing, flavorful and not too sweet. We reviewed the menu and were surprised at the combinations of sushi we'd never seen before. The Voodoo roll features avocado, tuna, masago, eel sauce, scallions and tempura flakes and then topped with tons of baked spicy crawfish. It was so good I had to stop myself from eating the last one because I knew my stomach couldn't fit anymore. We also split the sexy lobster roll, which features coconut fried lobster, spring mix, avocado, asparagus, masago, eel sauce and white sauce. The presentation left us in awe showing us the complete lobster tail they used to fill the roll with. It's a huge roll, so much so that we had leftovers between the two we ordered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We really enjoyed Maki's food, and they also play a really nice lo-fi music that's upbeat while we talked and enjoyed our lunch date.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Steven was a great server who was attentive and gave great service. Additionally, I was looking at the hours and love how they're open till 10pm sun-thurs, and 10:30 on Fri and Saturday. We're always trying to think of places to eat that are open a little later and have healthier options, so now we know Maki Hibachi is a great one for future reference. When I'm in the Lake Nona area and in need of a meal, I'll definitely be thinking of Maki Hibachi and next time I'll try some of their hot food options.

Absolutely still amazing with excellent customer service and fast service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always happy to bring family here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love the atmosphere and the rolls are my best in the area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even with a fish allergy they are able to accommodate me with 'cooked' rolls. Yay!!

Such a great local spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is modern, clean and well lit with soft music in the background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect for lunch or dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do close between lunch and dinner so something to keep in mind. I ordered two rolls, orange bowl roll and atom bomb roll. Both were very tasty, temperature was perfect. The parking can be a little difficult around peak times. Service was good but as it got busier, we kept missing our server. All in all, a decent experience and I would return to try other rolls and the hibachi.

Went here last night for date night Monday and it was amazing! I was craving some sushi/raw fish and my hubby doesn't care for that so I was happy they also had hibachi which is his favorite. The poke bowl was really good with their house made spicy lemon-garlic sauce I poured over it. The drunken tuna appetizer was also very tasty. The flavor in the hibachi was great as well. Our server was so sweet and explained the menu items, she even recommend the drunken tuna app as well. I will be back since it's nearby!

I ordered the drunken tuna and the pan-fried dumplings, and both were an amazing way to start the meal. The drunken tuna was super fresh with great flavor, and the dumplings were perfectly pan-fried--crispy on the outside and packed with flavor inside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every time I come here, the experience is consistently solid.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is vibrant but still relaxing, and the classical music really adds a nice, upscale touch without feeling stuffy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is clean, modern, and welcoming, making it a great spot whether you're dining casually or celebrating something special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server attended amazing Every time. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and a place I always enjoy coming back to.

Once again, we are in this neck of the woods and had a date! I think from now on when my husband picks me up from the airport this is where we're always gonna go. The food was super yummy. The only thing that wasn't the best was the miso soup. It was kind of bland, but everything else was delicious. The waiter was spot on and had our food out very quickly.

We went for the lunch special and the sushi was AMAZING! Services was excelente, and the food came out quick, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere was very relaxing and nice to have conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Still craving some more!!!

Well, I thought before I would go to Walmart I would have some lunch so I saw this place. I think it's safe to say that lunch really didn't agree with my stomach. It was tasty. It was good. Staff were nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Although my Meal was quite nice I'm not exactly sure what set off my stomach. I don't know if it was the Ramen or maybe it was simply the water I don't know, but I wasn't feeling too particularly great when I left

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was inviting, and the service was top-notch. But the real stars were the food--every bite was incredible! The cheese curds were absolutely phenomenal: crispy, gooey, and bursting with flavor. I can honestly say they're the best I've had in the city. And the teriyaki bowl? A perfect blend of savory and sweet, with tender meat and fresh veggies that made every mouthful a delight. Whether you're a local or just visiting, I would totally recommend The Bao Spot. The restaurant and bathrooms are always clean, which is something I really appreciate. They also have some really cool murals on the walls that add a lot of character. The ambiance is a little dark inside, but it gives the place a fun, laid back vibe. My only suggestion would be to offer their lunch specials for online ordering. Since they don't take phone orders, anyone with a short lunch break has to place their order in person and wait, which can be a bit inconvenient, especially when you don't know how busy they are. Overall, it's a great spot with tasty food, a unique atmosphere, and a clean, welcoming environment. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!

Stopped by for a quick lunch with my mom. This place was pretty easy to find. You can park along…read morethe street or in the garage which it is attached to. They have a little sign by the street to help you find it/advertising, as it's in the hallway of the plaza. It's on the ground level so we didn't have to take any stairs or elevator. Upon entry, there was no one to greet us. We headed to the register where they had a bunch of menus and pictures. While we were looking, the lady came out from the back with food items for someone who was already seated. Everything looked good. There was a guy waiting for his order to go, another guy waiting to eat by himself, and another lady also waiting to eat by herself. There was some interview going on between two guys- sounded like it was about the restaurant as I heard them talking about kimchi fried rice. It sounded so good, I ordered that with shrimp. Mom had the bento box lunch. We asked for two cups for water, which she said she would bring to us. We sat for awhile, and saw the others and the to go person get their food. The water cups did not come until after she brought us our food. Maybe that's the way they do it? Anyhow- our food was out in a reasonable time and everything was delicious. I tried some of mom's beef bento box- she got the bulgogi beef and we were both a little shocked that it was ground beef and not thin slices, but the flavor was spot on. My mom did not finish her lunch and I had a small portion of rice left. When I asked for one to go box- the lady almost seemed upset that I didn't want two! She asked me what about my leftovers? To which I said my mom was taking everything in one box. lol. We don't like to waste and I wasn't going to toss mine but it seemed silly to get another box for the little bit of rice I had. So we put it all in one. We paid at the register and took our box. There are many more items on the menu I'd like to try. My mom was pretty impressed with the place. It's nothing to look at, really, but the food is good and she will probably bring her friends here for lunch.
