Unorganized, understaffed and very rude receptionist who has 0 customer service skills. My first experience was a horrible train wreck, so I decided to try other salons in the area... 6 months later I gave them another shot because they're conveniently located next to Sprouts. My second time was great, and 3rd thru 7th time not so great. Nails are mediocre, service and wait time even with appointments unacceptable. It's really ashamed, Tom, Kate and Ken (the manager) had potential and did a decent job with my nails, which brought me back along with 4 new customers that I brought in from new community nearby. All whom had similar experiences, unfortunately. Their costs are slightly above average, which I don't mind paying if my time wasn't being wasted and it was a pleasurable, relaxing experience. first time at this nail salon, I got a spa pedicure and my 2yr old got her toes polished. pros: friendly staff clean good vibes relaxing not too expensive (photos attached) cons: I checked in at 11 was told 20 min wait, waited 1hr before they actually started (I got seated 30 minutes after arriving) **not an easy thing to do with a 2yr old waiting to get her toes polished** I felt the lady was rushed bc they had other waiting and they were limited on staff. they did my baby's toes and they came out good but she didn't add the top coat until we were literally walking out the door (we were sitting for over an hr) bc of this she messed up one of her big toes when she was sitting for over an hour and had time to let them dry. I'm upset bc instead of doing the top coat our nail tech went to assist another customer leaving us waiting for an additional 20 minutes before doing my little girl's top coat. First time writing a review. I just have to because they did an amazing job on my nails and my my sister's nails! We both had dip powder done. She had the ombre and I got the one with marbles. We love it! First impression walking in to their place gave us a very relaxing feeling. Everything looks clean with new equipment. The staff are very welcoming to everyone. They even gave all the customers free water bottle due to the hot weather. We didnt have an appointment and the waiting time was reasonable. Maybe we'll make an appoinment next time. I made an appt 2 weeks ago to have the same ladies from previous time. I got to my appt on time and it took over 40 min to start a pedicure and my nails over an hour to even be acknowledged and only reason is because I said something once again. Unfortunately, I was unable to get my manicure . Customer service is substandard! they started other people after I informed them I had an appt and I still continue to wait. They just look around and offer zero solutions . I will definitely not be coming back here. They never even started my manicure quite funny. Nor did she even sand my nails down. On top of all that my polish has bubbles in it! This was by far the worst experience I've had at a nail salon. I hope the manager of this nail salon takes the time to read the reviews because my experience here was the worst experience I've ever had to deal with at any place. The only reason this place gets a star is because Tom was amazing, however I cannot say the same about RUTH. She has the worst costumer service and is extremely rude. I have acrylic on my two big toes that needed to come off. Ruth started complaining saying " this is going to take to long" and throwing her instruments to the side every-time she couldn't get a acrylic tip to take off the acrylic on my nail. She kept sighing and complaining like if being a nail technician isn't her job. She let it soak for about 10 seconds and started to complain again how it wasn't working. Once she kept complaining about how it's going to " take too long" I asked if there was someone else to do it since apparently she was in a rush & she responded " everyone else is busy" After complaining for 15 minutes she states " you're just going to have to let me soak" as she rudely puts on the foil on my foot. At this point I'm already mad and in utter shock on how rude she was so I told her to stop and to just leave it alone. I left the place with no pedicure. I don't know about this salon but every other salon I go to I pick a service and it is done, I'm not sure why Ruth decided she didn't have the time to do my service off of two acrylic toes. I love MJ's! I have been coming here since they first opened years ago, and I have never stopped coming ever since. The staff is so nice, professional, and overall amazing. Ken is very friendly and really knows how to run a business. He is great for dip powder! Tina is amazing, and so kind. She does a great job with pedicures and always leaves my toes feeling super clean. Laurie and Ashley are also very amazing with dip powder. Overall, everyone here is amazing. You pay for what you get for, so it is a bit pricy, but extremely luxurious and worth your money. Friday This was my second time at this beautiful place. I got the dip nails by Kevin and I love it! Last time it lasted 3 weeks and it was by Daniel. I wish all nails shops had men like these two! It seems that they are always under staffed. Today I broke one acrylic nail and I have an event to go to tomorrow, I went in today Saturday at 2pm I saw about 3 customers being worked on and 2 people waiting. They said they could repair my nail and to wait 40 min. I said ok and I would come back in 40 min...Then I come back and had to wait another 30 min to be seen. The woman technician was very upset that she had to service me, she was rough and sloppy she was complaining to her coworkers and banging drawers telling me it was going to be $10 for the repair. Then a male technician came to take over. He was nice but I got a very simple repair that took 10 min. Then he asked me to not walk-in next time and always make an appointment. Not sure what difference that would have made since I wait an hour either way. Very weird since it was not busy at all and I had to repair 1 nail. They were busy, so one of the workers suggested that I go to their other location next to Sprouts. Ok cool. I call them anyway just in case, around 2p and made an appointment. The male I spoke with told me their next opening was at 4. I waited around the area show up at 4, and get told to take a seat. After some time goes by I ask how much longer and get told 10 minutes. Im 6 month pregnant and can't just be sitting around for nothing. A few more minutes go by and someone comes up to me and asks if I can wait 25 more minutes, because they have other appointments. To the people that run this place, if you have existing appointments, then do NOT book more appointments for the same time slots. It's just so inconsiderate of patron's time.
