A few weeks ago, I decided to to start car shopping for my next car. After going to multiple dealerships and speaking with countless sales people, there was 1 thing every sales person told me. Due to the current chip shortages, they were not offering any discounts off of MSRP for any of their cars, and in most cases, there was usually a 5-15k mark-up on the car that I was interested in. What used to cost ~$600 per month pre-COVID was now over $1200 per month. I decided to reach out to Michael from MK Auto to see if he could help me out. I've actually worked with Michael back in 2016. He was the one that helped me out with leasing a Audi S4 and Audi TT when he was still working at Audi Downtown. I gave Michael a call, he asked me a couple of questions, I told him the exact car I wanted (it was a specific model from BMW Beverly Hills), and within 24 hours, Michael was able to get the exact car at a much cheaper price. I signed the contract and the car was delivered to my home where I signed the lease papers. It was awesome not having to step into a dealership and getting a car. Just moved from NY to LA and needed help buying a car in this crazy market. After weeks of visiting dealerships and speaking to many salespeople, I got frustrated and looked for a car broker to help. I initially found a different one but didn't like working w/ them (felt that I was being talked down to) and then came across Michael's business on Yelp and decided to give him a try. I almost gave up on Michael too though! I tried to contact him on the listed website thru an open form but didn't hear back. I then sent an email to same address and it bounced back (info@ address). I finally decided to message him on Yelp (because how did he have so many 5 star reviews?!) and he responded within a few hours. From there on he was very responsive and uses a different email address than on the website. Michael was very nice and Knowledgeable and explained things to me about the car buying process. I never had a car before so this was appreciated as I felt silly asking my questions to salespeople since I don't know this topic well and I could see salespeople getting a little frustrated with me and make me feel bad. Michael didn't make me feel this way at all. Anyway I knew which car I wanted (Audi q3) and he gave me an estimated price of what he thought he could do that I was happy with. I was a bit hesitant going thru w the process as I'm new to LA and what if this is a scam! Anyway he was very professional and clear about logistics and tried to help me be comfortable with the process. I ended up choosing to have the car delivered to an Audi dealership in Santa Monica and doing the paperwork there so I would feel more comfortable w the process. Michael was able to secure the car and model I wanted at the price point I wanted within a day or two of initial contact. He also answered more of my annoying questions but didn't lose patience w me. He was also available for questions when I was about to sign the contract and didn't understand some terms! Overall I'm happy I worked with Michael as he made my first car purchase smooth and cutting out the awkwardness of dealing w salespeople.
