I recently hired Maico for a deep cleaning of my row house and was very disappointed. After doing significant research, reading such great reviews, and letting Maico and his team know exactly what I was looking for (deep, detailed cleaning with special attention to baseboards and woodwork), I was anticipating a better experience. The kitchen and bathrooms looked mostly clean (missed a few obvious dusty or hard-to-reach spots) and the bedrooms looked decent (again, missed some dusty shelving units and some very obvious spots like the perimeter of the bed) but the common spaces (living room, dining room, foyer, staircase, hallways, etc). looked untouched - floors left unswept, carpets and rugs not vacuumed, etc. I let Maico know I was disappointed and he was gracious enough to knock $20 off the cost, but I would have preferred he sent his team back to correct the issues (and I don't feel $20 off is an adequate reimbursement for how much they missed). UPDATE: Maico contacted me and refunded me a bit more money back after seeing my review. I appreciate his generosity and customer service and so I have changed my review to three stars, based solely on his customer service and willingness to fix the issue. Thank you. read more

Used this company twice, both with mediocre to poor results. The quoted price was reasonable but the work was superficial and rushed. The first time around we got the move out cleaning package (two bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen and living room), which was supposed to be comprehensive and seemed cheap for the area of the space, only the cleaners used a generic solution for all the surfaces - floors, mirrors, shelving, etc. Before they started, I gave the cleaners three, mostly full, bottles of namebrand products to use - Pledge, Clorox and Lysol - instead of using those the products they only used their one solution. Worst of all, not only did they not use them, they didn't clean the wood cabinet surfaces at all but they kept all my supplies... The second time we used MK cleaners, we specifically got a quote to clean one bedroom, which consisted of only 1/4 the area of the first time (one bedroom one bathroom), one sink to clear, the mold on the gasket around the washer door, and an air vent. Management said they would be able to do that and provided a quote for approximately half of the price of the first time, which seemed a bit high, given the space, but within reason.. the cleaners came and only brushed the edges of the sink drain, only wiped the outside of the washer dryer, and did not clean the vent.. when I spoke to the cleaners, they said I needed a plumber for the sink drain, and said they couldn't remove the mold on the washer, and said no to cleaning the vent. They also did not speak English. Upon speaking with their boss, he said they do not snake drains..(I showed him the text message where I asked specifically if it would be snaked and he said I'd have to get a plumber..). As for the mold, he said they tried and at that point...they did not want to continue any longer... Pretty sub par experience read more

Just hired MK Cleaning Services to do a last minute move-out cleaning for us. Michael was helpful and courteous on my initial phone call and was very responsive via text message. I was so happy to be able to find someone on such short notice. The cleaning team showed up on time and were very nice. They got to work immediately. We didn't stick around while they cleaned, but they let themselves out with no issues. Most importantly: OUR APARTMENT IS SO CLEAN! :) They were able to get some stubborn stains out of the stovetop, did an awesome job on the bathroom, and left everything extremely tidy. I have used MK twice and I am very pleased with the service. I cannot tell you how good it feels to come home to a clean house. What I really like about them are the personal touches, i.e. any loose change that is found is placed on a tissue and after the bathroom has been cleaned they tie the ends of the toilet paper into a little rose :) The first time my home was cleaned, two ladies came out and the second time, three ladies came out. They are very friendly and I was able to tell them what I wanted although one didn't speak English (gesturing was good enough and got the point across). I will be using them once a month!! read more

I hired MK Cleaning Services to do a move in/move out cleaning. They were very prompt in responding to my request via yelp and accommodated my requested date for the cleaning. Since we were moving in, the house was empty and we were not living at the home at the time of the cleaning and we did not go to the house until two days after the cleaning. Once we moved in (two days after the cleaning), I noticed that they did not clean the refrigerator, sections of the bathroom looked as they were not cleaned and the carpets were not vacuumed. I paid for the service the day the service was completed and wish I had waited. I reached out to them requesting for a partial refund and received a response that said "our policy is to send a crew at the same day or maximum a day later"; however, this was never shared with me during our communication via yelp. They did offer to come the next day, but since we just moved in with all of our stuff everywhere this was not a reasonable solution. I responded again with photos attached and received the following response "the pictures we provided it shows they did a good job while cleaning this unit". I responded once more, and ten days later still haven't received an email response back. The house was in great condition to begin with prior to hire MK Cleaning Service and all that was requested was special attention to appliances and carpets, which was missed. The fact that communication was cut off, was very unprofessional and I would not recommend. Perhaps they do a better job with smaller homes, but I provided them with square footage and number of bedrooms/bathrooms prior to booking, so they should have been prepared. This was my first time hiring a professional cleaner (usually I clean myself, but being 6 months pregnant at the time I couldn't) and I am highly disappointed. read more

I worked out the details with Maico by text message fairly easily. And at the appointed time, two ladies came to my house. I walked them through my house and the rooms, and they set to work. I usually located myself in whatever floor they were not, so as to give them the space to do their job in peace. They did a really nice job, hands down! I also asked them to give me a hand with holding up a large new painting that I needed an extra pair of hands for placing it onto the hooks of the wall, and tipped them for their kindness. I noticed, after they were done, that they hadn't cleaned the staircase's handrail, which had visible finger prints along it. They cleaned it with no fuss. Very friendly and efficient folks, I was alround pleased. The price seemed similar to what I found when I initially called around. The reason I picked MK is because they also work on the weekend, as I couldn't do it during the weekdays, when I myself am at work. read more

One worker was very professional and seriously cleaning from the time she arrived the other barely did anything. My personal cleaning supplies were used and once I spoke on it the worker who wasn't cleaning got very rude and nasty. My services weren't even completed. I spoke with the managers and they were just as rude and nasty. Never again! Hired Maico to clean my condo after having renters for a year. The place was pretty gross and he did a very good job on the things he actually cleaned, but after he left I realized there were things I wish he'd done that he didn't. First the good: He was very flexible on timing with me and came the day after I called him (even after offering to come same day, but I said no). He was very timely, professional, and friendly. His cleaning was effective! My tub was absolutely disgusting and black after a year of neglect, and now it is clean as new. He moved all my furniture to clean under and behind it without me even mentioning (even my bed and dressers). He vacuumed all my baseboards (yay!). He cleaned my stovetop with care. The not-so-good: Initially I was thrilled, but later I realized there were less obvious things that I wish he had thought to clean that I did not think of. For example, my windows were very dirty along the frames and especially where the latches are, which I noticed when I went to open one later and it felt super greasy. All of my windows had this very greasy residue that made it pretty nauseating just to touch the window latch (geez did my renters ever clean?!). I also later realized that the space beneath my oven was full of crumbs and dirt. I realize that these are not your typical spaces to clean, and obviously I didn't think to mention them either. But I did tell Maico that I'd had renters, and I would hope that someone who does this for a living would know the atypical spots to clean, especially given what I paid for the service. Overall, I was pleased with the work done and with the professionalism, timeliness, and courtesy. My single star deduction is simply for the things I later had to clean on my own. Definitely do not hesitate to hire Maico if you're in the market for a home cleaning. read more

Came 20 minutes late, it's a good thing I was working from home and not waiting to let them in before work. Two cleaners came and they were really friendly. Spent a little over an hour and seemed to be very rushed the whole time. One of the cleaners said they had 5 cleanings today and they are always really busy. I had specifically asked for a deep clean but some areas didn't even get a basic cleaning - my coffee table wasn't wiped at all. The stove top was wiped, but some crumbs were left behind. The bathroom floor was wiped, but again some hair and debris still left in corners. Toilet interior cleaned, but not thoroughly. I asked for baseboard to be cleaned and that only happened in some rooms. And they left a bottle of cleaning solution and a rag in another room. I didn't get a chance to really look at things before they left as they were literally one foot out the door when they said they were done. I noticed the uncleaned coffee table so they came back in the wipe it but the other stuff I only noticed later. I really wanted to like them because the owner was responsive via text and I got a credit card invoice via email - the convenience and communication was really great. But ultimately I needed a cleaning to impress visiting parents and this one wasn't it. read more
