Wow-this place was legit and absolutely delicious! I got the chicken and egg pho and my boyfriend got the vegan pho. Not only was it ready quickly for pick up but the flavors were amazing! The broth was extra hot (temperature wise) which is a must and the soup bowl had a lot of food, veggies and herbs. It also came with extra bean sprouts, jalapeño peppers, lime, herbs and plum sauce! MK Noodle is such a great addition to the food landscape here in Chicago! I recently relocated to Chicago and love Vietnamese food. As a vegetarian I'm always on the lookout for great bun chay and pho chay. After settling into River North, I tried a different Vietnamese restaurant weekly and landed on some pretty great ones but MK Noodle has become my go-to for the vermicelli noodle bowl. The soy "chicken" is a fun addition to the tofu in the vegetarian bowl and their vegetarian soy vinegar sauce is a great substitute for traditional fish sauce on the dish. I'm looking forward to trying the pho on a chilly winter day! My husband does not have the same dietary restrictions and can attest to the vermicelli with beef and egg roll being outstanding. The first time I ordered, I picked up in the restaurant. The employees (owners?) were very friendly and helpful. The communication here is fantastic - the one time when I ordered an item that was out of stock, they called me to let me know and offer me a replacement item, which I greatly appreciated. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, the flavors delightful, and with this restaurant offering delivery even from Lakeview to River North, I will be ordering routinely throughout the winter months. (It doesn't state it on the site when ordering, but it seems that DoorDash is the delivery partner and I've had excellent service with them each time I've ordered.) read more

This place was super good for pho, really comparable to the places further north. You order at a kiosk and the pho comes out within 10 minutes. The woman working at the front was extremely friendly and even offered us a sample of one of the boba smoothies they sell (which was also delicious). Huge portions, but no sacrifices on flavor here. This is the best pho I've ever had. In all honestly, I got emotional eating it because, I kid you not, this is some of the best food I've had in years. The balance of flavor is crazy! I highly recommend going here even if it's far away from you, take the drive or train ride cause this is it! I still have yet to try the whole menu but trust me I will! They do not inform you of long waiting time prior. The time only pops up after you've placed the order, there's no button to cancel. Went in 10 minutes later to inquire, the girl said it'll be a few minutes. People placed the order 20 minutes after you received their food just because they were dine-in. There were only 1 table dinning in at the time. When I tried to inquire the status, the girl has a really bad attitude and claim there is nothing she can do. I asked for a refund, she said it's done but would not give me a receipt. She made me wait another 20 minutes for the receipt, then the food came out (60 minutes later) and said oh she cannot issue a refund. read more

The pho is outstanding. I got the steak and meatball and my wife got the free range chicken. You can tell that the broth was properly made just by the consistency. It was packed full of flavor. The meats themselves were good, quality but the broth was what you need to get the pho for. It's not very often that I crave Pho but I had been craving it for awhile and landed on MK Noodle because it was nearby during a snow storm. We ordered the crab rangoon, shrimp and crab spring rolls, egg rolls, the steak, brisket and tripe pho and the steak and brisket pho. All of the food was immensely flavorful and I looked over my partner in awe of how good the place was and so close in Lakeview. I can't speak for the authenticity of the place because I'm not very familiar with Vietnamese traditional foods, but the food was nonetheless amazing. Really enjoyed the freshness of the spring rolls and my girlfriend could not stop talking about the egg rolls and the dipping sauce it came with. The pho was nothing short of great either. Really flavorful and full bodied with all the noodles, meat, and vegetables. Two things I really appreciated were the pricing. I've been looking at pho in Lakeview and they have some pretty insane pricing for pho. This place was easily the cheapest we found and did not disappoint in taste. The second thing I appreciated was how nice the lady behind the counter was. She was super cool, thankful, and gave us a bunch of candies. She said they were really good, I didn't believe her but now I'm fighting with my girlfriend to see where she left them. Hahah enjoy. read more

Finally, a good Vietnamese spot in West Lakeview / Roscoe Village! We tried a number of items (to go) from MK's menu, all of which were quite yummy and would easily rival any place on Argyle. While the chicken and BBQ pork banh mi sandwiches were winners, the highlight for us was the sesame beef banh mi. Soooo much flavor. Also very good were the veggie fried rice, shrimp and crab spring rolls (that peanut sauce!) and veggie pot stickers. Lovely owner too; her mom and son work there as well.
