The salon is nice and everyone was so friendly. From time I entered to the time I left they made sure I was comfortable asked if I needed anything to drink or if I was hungry, it was such a nice feeling. Kenny did my cut and color and my hair looks amazing! Another gentleman assisted and he also washed my hair and massaged my head as well. I felt so relaxed and pampered the whole time I was there. The unexpected price increase is disappointing, especially with no sign, notice, or communication to clients. If the increase started in August, customers should have been clearly informed. At this point, the price for a men's haircut is simply not competitive, and it makes me wonder if the business is intentionally pricing itself out of the men's clientele. Normally I go here and have had consistently good service but this time I went and had the worst experience ever. The inconsistency is alarming. For $75 I expected much more out of my haircut but the stylist I had went completely off the mark and gave me something that didn't match what I asked for, and I was embarrassed to walk out of the salon with the haircut. I've always wanted a head of ash brown hair, but after being shot down by countless salons and wasting a small fortune for less than desirable results, my dream nearly fizzled out. Chinatown salons had been crossed off my list for over 16 years due to one terrible haircut, but Kenny's beautiful work made me end my embargo. It had been several years since my last color service, so my hair was mostly virgin. I showed a few photos of the smoky balayage I wanted, and Kenny got to work right away, seeming very confident - none of that BS about not being able to get the color I wanted. He gave me a quick cut, then he and an assistant painted and foiled me meticulously for several hours. The end result was absolutely perfect - even better than I'd imagined. Kenny's masterful precision created such beautiful dimension but still dark and subtle like I wanted. Loved my haircut by Steven! He was so friendly and gave me exactly what I asked for. I asked for a very specific style because I enjoy styling my hair quite often. The hair was was also quite nice. I appreciated the time and effort spent on my hair. The whole process from mostly virgin-dyed black hair and previously dyed hair to light brown took about 5 hours. The hair cut was my favorite but the color I would say is good but not great. I wanted a more light ash brown but it was difficult to achieve and came out patchy and uneven even after bleaching so we opted for a darker ash brown. I think the price point 280 (hair coloring) + 50 (haircut) was pricey but the service was very good. read more

MingLi worked with me today and did a great job. After they greeted me, they help me wash my hair. They then help me style and cut my hair. Then then help me do a rinse and did some touch up before finishing and adding product to my hair. I was a little shock to hear the price after my haircut. Unfortunately I didn't get the hair cut I wanted. I showed a picture of thin bangs with side pieces to frame the face, but overall the bangs now seem thick and frame my face awkwardly with the side pieces making the bangs look especially thicker and bigger. I think the stylist tried to thin out the bangs by using a thinning scissors which made the bangs choppy. I now have to wait for my bangs to grow out long enough to not be bangs to fix them again. read more

I didn't think spending hours at the salon would be the most ideal day to spend my Friday but the results were superbbb! MingLi and Hardy are the only people I trust with my hair & this is something I don't say often with any other hair stylist. MingLi came in clutch with the magic scissor hands and Hardy came thru with his painting skills. It definitely took a solid 6-7 hours but that's expected when you're trying to dye your hair. Can't rush perfection. I would highly recommend them, but again just note that it will take a whole day so plan accordingly. Throughout the process Hardy did a great job explaining the steps to me and when finished, he explained how to maintain hair care. I had a salon and colorist that I was absolutely loyal to for years but decided to try ML2 on a whim after my brother had a haircut there. Though they were extremely busy, Hardy took the time to sit down with me for a free consultation, giving feedback about the state of my hair and the ideas I had for my next style. Afterwards, I had reached out on Instagram to make an appointment and he was extremely receptive, helpful, and accommodating to my needs/schedule. I ended up booking with him and had one of the best hairstyling experiences ever. Hardy was really sweet, and an overall a pleasure to be around, making the 5.5 hours that much more enjoyable. Furthermore, he was sensitive and attentive to my comfort levels, constantly asking how my scalp/skin was feeling from the bleach. I was actually pretty nervous this time around as it was my first time getting my hair done since getting a helix piercing but he was super gentle and paid close attention to my ears without me even having to point them out. The style that I was going for didn't have any proper inspo pics online so he was going purely off my explanation and idea but it turned out exactly as I had wanted it to. I went from pink and black hair to blue which is a difficult transition because of the red undertones. I had some orange banding after the bleaching and we were somewhat worried that the color would turn green but the blue is consistent throughout my hair and looks phenomenal.
