I was in the Chinatown Houston area in February 2026 for Lunar New Years, and I decided to check this place out for a haircut. Everyone there was nice, but I had to use Google Translate since my stylist was limited in English. Because of this, I also gave her a picture sample to go off on. The inside was nice. It was a bit pricy for a simple haircut, but it still looked nice. I paid about $34.90 for a short men's cut. Overall, I was satisfied with my haircut. read more

Victoria was an amazing. A double wash was amazing. The first one she really scrubbed her head. The second one is to get all the extra dirt out and then she massage the conditioner in and write it a very luxurious experience at the salon. She then took her time styling my hair and the hairstyle lasted me for the next 2 1/2 days and did it all with an affordable price tag attached to it.! She's newer and I hope her books don't fill up too quickly! read more

I swear I hate to give bad reviews to businesses but I am so mad every time I walk past the mirror. I show pictures for short hair cut I know of course you can't match AI pictures but Let me tell you one thing I can just cut by myself at home and look so much better than spending $175 and want to cry . I already show the lengths where want the length will be . She cut super short inside. When did I request 1960 style bob cut ?? The picture model is layer not grandma bob cut . Walking in with long dry hair but doesn't look that bad. Walking out look exactly like my friend mom who is 65 years old or Lord Quad . The length inside is super short now I don't even know how to fix it . after cut that hair style looks so damn ugly and want to charge $370 to put pink color in Lord Quad hair . It is short hair not even long or required more work. I was about to cry when I see my hair . The more she cut the worse it gets . I want bang , bang length is suppose to sit between eyebrows not poke directly to my eyeballs. Cutting the length right on my eyeballs so I can't see how ugly I get ??? Omg im so damn mad . Around 3 weeks ago, I came in for a Japanese straight perm, and I left utterly satisfied! I actually called the salon in advance to book an appointment since I knew the perm would take a while. The whole process took a little over 4 hours, which was a lot less time than I anticipated as I've had perms that took over 6 hours to complete. Joe was my stylist, and although we could barely communicate with each other because of the language barrier, he did his best to make sure I was comfortable. He is a true professional, very meticulous and thorough. I had my glasses off the whole time, so when I put them back on to see the results, I was completely in awe. It was everything I wanted!! The price for the perm was $260, and I got a lil trim that was $50. The perm price was extremely affordable, and I'd recommend it to any of my friends. As for the payment, they encourage paying through Zelle or else they charge a high fee on credit cards. I was having trouble sending my payment through Zelle, but I was able to use Apple Pay. I'll for sure be back for touch ups!! read more

If you're looking for a no-fuss, high-quality haircut at a price that won't make your wallet cry, this is the spot. I called ahead to book my appointment and the process was quick and easy. I showed up right on time and was seen within minutes, which already started things off on a good note. My stylist was a guy with shoulder-length hair whose name I forgot, but he was fantastic. Super attentive and clearly wanted to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. He took the time to really study the inspo photos I brought, asked thoughtful questions, and made sure we were totally on the same page. We started with shampoo before the cut. I asked for long layers and face-framing pieces and he absolutely nailed it. Most importantly, he didn't cut off more than I asked for. The salon itself had a clean, bright, and welcoming vibe. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, and parking was super easy. The final result was everything I hoped for. And the price? Way more affordable than most other salons. This is my first visit to the salon, and I had a terrific experience. Annie was my stylist, and she was incredible. She made me feel at ease from the moment I saw her for a consultation until I left with my hair done. She listened carefully to what I wanted and offered some suggestions to help me meet my hair goals. Annie was exceptionally skilled, diligent, and meticulous about her job. Called in for a same day appointment and was able to get a spot that evening. Woo! I didn't mind who my hairstylist was I just really needed a haircut. Chen ended up being my hairstylist and let me just say, it was the best experience ever!!! He DELIVERED. I've been receiving compliments left and right. She's always very accommodating to my requests, keeping up with the latest trends while still maintaining her impeccable skills when it comes to hair cutting. In fact, Ivy has been cutting my hair since I moved to Houston, Texas in 2012! It's been amazing to see her grow as a person and start her own business. The salon has a contemporary design, and it's incredibly spacious and clean. It's comfortable, and they even serve coffee and drinks. I have never come across a salon like this in Chinatown! Went in for the first time today and had my men's haircut with Joe and had a great experience extremely happy with the results. I am SUPER picky about how my hair is cut, but Joe was very attentive to exactly what I wanted and used great scissorwork skills that I did not experience at other salons to deliver the cut I was looking for. I almost never post reviews, but I would highly recommend this salon for men's haircuts and I will be coming back for sure. Joe gave the best service and delivered exactly what i wanted. I was looking for a layered hime cut without taking too much length off of my very long hair, which was not an easy request with this style. However, Joe delivered with excellence. He was friendly, he listened to what I wanted, and continued to check in throughout the haircut to make sure we were on the same page. Everything was beautiful, efficient, and i can't get over how high quality the experience was for the price! I will only be seeing Joe for all of my hair needs going forward. read more

She is very detail oriented and I love what she did with my hair. I had my hair trimmed and colored. Ivy took her time and never rushed, even though it was a busy weekend. I believe you're generally offered a beverage when sitting and waiting in the front as well. Other things to note: They do sell various hair styling products They have nice, clean restrooms Their front door can be a bit heavy and I believe has a step up. I had an absolutely terrible experience at 7 Qi Ao Salon. I booked an appointment in advance and arrived on time, only to be completely disregarded. After waiting for a while with no communication, I approached the staff to ask about my appointment. Instead of an apology or any attempt to honor the booking, they told me, "Sorry, we can't make it ." No explanation, no effort to accommodate, and no respect for my time. This level of unprofessionalism is beyond frustrating. What's the point of making an appointment if they have no intention of honoring it? They wasted my time and showed zero consideration for their customers. If you value your time, avoid this salon at all costs. It is hard to find a reliable salon in Chinatown because of the language barrier however, Ivyis fluent in many languages which make it so much easier. My hair literally has straight roots and curly ends. I have a picture from just days after having it done. My husband informed Andy, and we had to go based on Mac's schedule. Unfortunately, my schedule also involved having a family member in the hospital at that time. After we finally were able to schedule a day, we were told we still had to pay. It's really upsetting to pay money for something you didn't get. Do better, please.
