I had an amazing calm experience here. All of the staff were so helpful, kind and attentive. The food was delicious. You can taste that nothing is rushed and all ingredients are great quality. I love the decor. Perfect setup, beautiful but not too much going on. The view does the talking. It was my birthday and I ordered dessert, only to find out at the end that it was on the house. So so kind. I'll be back in a few!

MO Lounge offers an incredible experience with stunning views of the city, elegant ambiance, and exceptional service. The cocktails are perfectly crafted. We had the dap spa and fire in the sky specialty cocktails and they tasted amazing. A must-visit spot in New York for a memorable night out!

Stopped in during a stay in NYC for drinks. An impressive selection of cocktails with clear/accurate descriptions. Delicious cocktails and served with olives, mixed nuts and wasabi peas. Fantastic elevated cocktails with spectacular views of Columbus circle and Central Park south. The war add is fantastic and very attentive.

I love visiting NYC during the holidays. After a morning at the Whitney with my friend L to see the Alvin Ailey exhibit, we ventured to Columbus Circle to have afternoon tea at the Mandarin Oriental. Part of the draw is the view from the MO Lounge located on the 35th floor overlooking Central Park. We perused the Columbus Circle Christmas market before heading to afternoon tea. Since it was Christmas, the hotel was fully decorated and there was a group of Christmas carolers in the lobby which is near the lounge. Definitely put us in the holiday spirit. After reviewing the cocktail list and selecting a tea, we had a lovely leisurely afternoon catching up. Afternoon tea of course involves scones with lemon curd and butter, tea sandwiches, and dainty desserts. For my tea, I selected Golden Lily Milk Oolong and L ordered Silver Tip Jasmine. We also ordered a few cocktails. The cocktails are really interesting and the cocktail menu is quite detailed. There is a chart divided into sections - Refreshing, Light, Rich and Boozy. The drinks are further segmented into the following categories: Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. Let's just say we had a hard time figuring out what to order as all the cocktails sounded amazing. Before they take your order they also ask about allergies. L is allergic to mushroom so they provided her with a different kind of tea sandwich to replace the one with mushrooms. Afternoon tea is not meant to fill your tummy with a lot of food but I was surprisingly quite full after eating every single thing. It's the holidays - 'tis the season for eating. I highly recommend afternoon tea at the Mandarin Oriental. Be forewarned...it's definitely a splurge especially after you add a few cocktails to your bill. However, we knew going it it might be pricey so we were not surprised. And as I said before, we had a wonderful time with a great view of the park.

Overall: At the end of the day this is just an overpriced hotel restaurant. We went here for some drinks on a special occasion hoping for a fancy atmosphere with views of the park and skyline. They had an elaborate drink menu that gave us hope, but overall it ended up being a pretty average experience. Food: 3 Drinks: 2 Service: 3 Value: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Food: We ordered the cheese plate as a snack. It came with three types of cheese, bread, and other spreads. It was pretty good but all of the cheeses were very similar. I thought it could have hand more variety. Drinks: They had an elaborate menu that broke out drinks between different themes and then provided a mapping of different characteristics. None of the drinks stood out and seemed to go against the listed profiles. For how much they cost I expected more. Service: Service was pretty average. Our waiter was attentive and took our orders, but didn't add much else. Nothing good, nothing bad. Value: All of the prices are jacked up because it's in a fancy hotel. The drinks were $25-27 each and the cheese platter was $35. Atmosphere: Unless you're right by the window (larger tables only) you don't really get any of the advertised view. In fact, the only thing you could really see was a glowing Nordstrom billboard. Aside from that, we were hoping for an elevated experience. Instead, this seems to just be the convenient place for families staying at the hotel to grab a bite to eat, meaning there's children running all over. Not exactly fancy cocktail lounge vibes.

Half of the sandwich and chips ( the latter was quite flavorful).

I had to use my dining credit that I received as a perk, so even though I was out for a meal earlier, I figured I might be able to get something to go. Service from the host was very friendly/helpful; he was consistent on checking up on my order, and was just 'on' which I appreciated. For this order, I had the club sandwich (turkey, tomato relish, bacon, lettuce, lemon basil aioli on ciabatta) with chips at $35, and a random side of mashed potatoes, $18. This took about 15 minutes and when I received my order, everything was wrapped appropriately. This was just okay; the tomato relish was almost similar to pizza sauce that was just spread onto the sandwich; a sliced tomato would have worked much better. Bacon wasn't crispy, but that is my personal preference. The bread option being ciabatta didn't work for this type of sandwich (someone else posted their version from years ago that looked much better). I did opt for the aioli on the side and I'm glad I did; dipping the chips into this and even adding some into the mashed potatoes was a good idea. Didn't even finish the other half of the sandwich and although I would have loved to have gone out and given this away, I also knew that in this part of town, I wasn't going to find anyone with such a need. There is a service charge on every order even though I didn't eat on the premises nor did I have it delivered which is frustrating, and this adds an additional nearly $10 extra due to that and tax. They do have a great location right off the check-in area/lobby and of course the view is coveted, but so much more could be done here. Perhaps their tea and other dishes measure up, and maybe I didn't get it right this time.

Jardin Gotham Cocktail

A nice, upscale cocktail bar on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Service was friendly and professional throughout. We stopped by for a cocktail on a Friday night to connect with a friend, and this was a good spot to do so. It wasn't too noisy inside, so we were able to hold a conversation and not have to strain to hear one another. A nice and intimate environment, it's perfect for a date night. The Jardin Gotham cocktail was delicious, had lemon and honey notes but not overly so, and the Prosecco made it bubbly and bright.

Dropped by for tea; Saturday, 12:30, amazing time to settle in - still quiet. Seated in the corner with a great view overlooking Columbus Circle despite the clouds and intermittent drizzle. Platter was a perfect balance of sweet, savory and neutral bites. My favorites for each were: The Bee (Golden honey, Medovick cake, caramelized mousse), the smoked salmon sandwich and the ginger scone paired with rose petal jam, respectively. I like that staff are readily available to assist but never feel like they're hovering.

Ordered: Sakura Season Cocktail (~$25): Haku vodka, cherry blossom sake, lychee Complimentary Snacks: rice crackers, wasabi-coated green peas, and olives Aya's take: We were in the area looking to grab a quick drink and decided on the MO Lounge. Super classy, sophisticated, and discreet. Perfect spot for date night drinks, a lowkey conversation, or just to unwind with a view. Their cocktail menu is based on the Five Elements in ancient Chinese philosophy (wood, fire, earth, metal, water). Each element has a certain color, flavor, and energy to it translating into this curated cocktail menu. They even have a chart that tells you where a certain cocktail falls on the spectrum of refreshing vs. boozy and light vs. rich. The Sakura Season, under the Wood element, was described as floral, botanical, and clean. I would also add 3 more words - sweet, delicate, and luscious. It was easy to sip on, tasted delicious, and was overall quite refreshing. My only complaint would be it's such a small volume compared to the glass it's in and the price point. The Complimentary Snacks, attention to tiny details (you get a cloth instead of a napkin for your drink), and the service all made this an even more enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

Terrific service as usual, what you'd expect from MOHG. A single waiter for our table of 12 who was extremely attentive & didn't miss a beat, kudos! The food is always delicious, the sandwiches were outstanding but the scones with rose preserve was out of this world!

Great view, great ambiance (fresh orchid at each table), elegant decors, amazing location, OK food (really overpriced), OK service (considering it's part of Mandarin Oriental). Some dishes are misleadingly named really. For example, how can they call it a steak when it's really Chinese-style stir-fry sliced beef? No wonder they didn't ask how the guest liked their steak cooked. Food presentation had a wow factor but taste wise, sadly, there's nothing to write home about, especially considering how many top Asian restaurants there are in the Big Apple. Their sea bass was tender and fresh, and the sauce presentation at the table of course was very nice. But too simple (literally just the bass, a few leaves of bok choy, and rice!). Tiny portion even for girls. There's a mocktail that's really just hot tea. It's served warm. It's basically honey lemon tea. But nicely presented. Very limited (small) menu -- all Asian inspired. The view would be what you come here for, day or night. Direct view on Columbus Circle and the Central Park. Stunning even when it rains.

MO Lounge night view over Columbus Circle, Central Park South and the southern portion of Central Park
Mike R.

MO Lounge is one of those great Manhattan spots for a power vantage point view, overlooking Columbus Circle, Central Park South and the southern portion of Central Park. Adjacent to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel's 35th floor Lobby, this stylish venue offers well crafted cocktails and more. It was the perfect spot for us. After a 2 week visit, my departing old friend had 35 minutes for a quick single drink in the evening before heading to Carnegie Hall for a concert. Wanted a new experience for him that captured something uniquely New York to end his trip. Called ahead to request a table adjacent to the window to ensure one would be available. The tables in our section all had seats with access to lounge's view. Because of the room structure, background conversations slightly drowned out our voices at first, but that resolved itself and, of course, the real draw is that amazing view. Service was friendly and swift. My Manhattan made with bourbon was so smooth. My friend enjoyed "A Walk in The Park," their variety of a Hendricks Gin & Tonic, adding Botanicals, Cucumber and Elderflower. The thin slice of cucumber lined the inside of his glass. His daughter was served a healthy-sized glass of white wine. Next time, I might try their Yuzumi Pear cocktail with Toki Whiskey, Yuzu, Pear and Ginger Beer. Be aware - They automatically add an 18% "Service Fee" on the bill, which is "distributed towards the staff," so you may not feel the need to include an additional tip.

Afternoon tea with swapped desserts, since the regular cakes have pork.

TL:DR: Very poor service for a $300+ price tag for two My sister and I indicated that we can't eat pork in our reservation. The first question the waitress asks us is, "It says you can't eat pork, but is pork gelatin ok?" Apparently all of their cakes have pork except for the cheesecake. They have a vegan afternoon tea menu so they were able to swap our cakes for the vegan ones, but the waitress seemed to be panicking or stressed about not being able to accommodate us. When she eventually came with our afternoon tea tray, she slammed it on the table. The desserts they swapped the cakes out for were plain chocolate chip cookies, freezer burned mochi ice cream, and a single chocolate covered strawberry each - but the price tag stayed the same. The sandwiches were fine, but comparable to afternoon teas I've had for half the price. Yea was fine, if weak. The scones and the rose petal jelly were the highlight. Overall, the hotel staff are friendly and lovely, but the MO Lounge staff seem stressed, unhappy, and unfriendly.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

Dim lighting, plush seating, rich wood + wallpaper details, and that lounge-library vibe make the place feel like a secret hideout right in the middle of Midtown. There were a few martini options I had my eye on, and with happy hour, I was able to pick 3 as part of the mini martini flight, a huge score. I got the cornstar, espresso, and Chelsea martinis. The espresso martini was fine, but I'd skip it for another one next time. The cornstar and Chelsea on the other hand were amazing. Would've loved to have either of these in a full size version. Everyone else in the group also liked all of the drinks they got. I got an aviation after happy hour and liked this one too, but the martinis were still my favorite. My only two gripes with the spot were - they didn't acknowledge my birthday, even with a happy birthday from my server or the hostess. I am not sure why Resy prompted me to indicate the occasion if it wouldn't even be acknowledged or looked at. It obviously feels good to feel celebrated, so they dropped the ball in this regard. The second issue is it got sickeningly loud inside. This was a sunday night, and I ended up having to shout just to be heard by the girl right next to me. Everything else was good! Though there wasn't a dish that just blew my mind, everything was consistently really good and enjoyable. I recommended ordering a handful of dishes and sharing with a group. The cornstar martini was fun (and the popcorn was great!), the vodka pasta, caesar salad, and truff fries were enjoyable as well. The cute matchboxes were a cherry on top as we were leaving!
