Wanted to LOVE this place... Came to NYC with the Hubby for a work event and weeks before had us double booked every night in town for dinner and this was the dinner I was most looking forrward to... Sad!!! From the moment we walked in I was hopeful, the girls at the window were great checking us in, but there was a slight issue and I felt that shifted our entire night. We sit down and the tables are TIGHT - we were sat right next to the stage and the woman that was on was GREAT... digging the vibe, super excited - my arm would constantly touch the girl next to us and we then started all talking to that table as well so it became less awkward but still... Drinks come, Ok - My drink I had to assemble myself which was cute I could make it too my liking, I just might have liked if there was actual alcohol with it... Then food, apps were Ok... The mains, NO... The steak had NO FLAVOR, not even bad flavor, NONE... Then the music changed, and the band that went on after was just NOT a vibe - what we had hoped would be a cute, cuddle in a little booth, get some music, good food, turned into a "are we done, lets hurry and go drink at the hotel bar" experience! Sad because I wanted to love this place, and maybe another booth where my ass wasnt on my neighbors chair, and the music was a different band might change this whole experience!

We had an amazing time at The Flatiron Room! We had dinner on 06/16 and our waiter and the bartenders were fabulous. The music was wonderful as well. We had such a great time that we went back on 06/19 for drinks and music and our second trip did not disappoint either. The ambiance is fantastic with a cozy, inviting feel. The live music is terrific and so enjoyable to listen to. In addition, the service is outstanding. The bartenders were engaging and friendly and made phenomenal drinks. My favorite was the Whiskey Sour which was perfection. We can't wait to come back on our next trip to NYC!

Whoa! Excellent live music, incredible whisky list, top notch food. What more can you ask for. Usually in these type of places usually food takes second stage. But not here. You are getting true fine dining to go with excellent music and drinks. Service is friendly and excellent. Highly recommended!

This meal was insane. After our initial disappointment at finding out they were out of enough caviar to serve us the caviar toast (We had been talking up this toast since our flight in at 4 AM), the staff surprised our table with complimentary champagne and an order of torched salmon rolls with caviar on top! It was TO-DIE for. So good we ordered two more rounds of it. Needless to say, next time we come back, we'll be thinking about both the toast and the rolls!

Good time will be back before you know it!

Didn't live up to the hype Visited The Flatiron Room Murray Hill during the Christmas holidays this past December (2025). This spot came highly recommended by my siblings, so it was a bummer that my wife and I didn't have the same experience. Maybe going during the holidays was the mistake, not sure if standards drop a bit this time of year, but something felt off. Let's start with the music, since that was the biggest selling point. My siblings raved about the live jazz... WRONG. No jazz at all that night. We checked the website beforehand and saw no indication of a change. Instead, the band played the same three tired holiday songs and left the stage. We were there for a full dinner, and I swear the band spent more time off the stage than on it. Next up: the no-hat policy, which I totally understand given the type of establishment. I was wearing a cheerful Santa hat and was asked to remove it at the entrance fine, no argument. But once we sat down, two nearby tables had guests wearing hats. WHOMP WHOMP. Santa hat went right back on. That inconsistency definitely left a bad taste, and it felt like I was unnecessarily singled out. This brings me to he food, it was... MEHHHH. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. For a place with this reputation, I expected more. The service, was also just OK nothing extraordinary. To top it off, I wanted an apéritif and ordered a Fernet-Branca and somehow, with that massive wall of liquor, they didn't have Fernet or anything comparable. LOL. No Fernet? Really? Cooommm'ONNNN All in all, I won't be returning. That said, as with all my reviews, I still think people should check it out and form their own opinion, just know that the experience may not match the hype. The one saving grace was that the place is really nice inside, feels intimate and if there was good music playing I can see any table being a GREAT table.

Came here for dinner and a jazz show with my girlfriends for a fun night out. The cocktails and appetizers were excellent, and the live jazz performances were top-notch--definitely the highlight of the evening. The ambiance is also fantastic and sets a great vibe for a night out. That said, the service left a bit to be desired, especially considering the price point. Most of us weren't impressed with our entrées--they lacked flavor and didn't quite meet expectations. I'd highly recommend this spot for pre-dinner drinks and appetizers or for dessert and a nightcap after dinner elsewhere. While the food missed the mark, the atmosphere and music made the experience worthwhile overall.

This place is fantastic. I don't know how it flew under my radar for so long. I'm upset with my friends who had been to Flatiron Room (Murray Hill) and didn't tell me about it because the setup is right up my alley. Thankfully, I had a friend from Canada visiting and my scopes picked it up during a search for a good spot near her hotel in Times Square. The restaurant space itself is very warm and inviting. After looking at the available pictures online, I was a little bit concerned with the view and loudness from each table. After seeing the space in person, don't be afraid to sit up front or on the second level of tables in front of the stage. The tables to the far side of the stage don't have a good view of the performers. So beware. Incidentally, I asked for particular table arrangements in my reservation notes and I was glad to see that the staff/management obliged. That's always a HUGE plus in my book because restaurants often ignore this. Meanwhile, the live music is such a classy touch to the place. We're talking live singers and instruments, jazz ensembles etc. The stage lighting isn't overpowering. We stayed until maybe 10pm on a weeknight and they still had music going which I thought was great. Often the live music is brief or a few hours at most. Anyways, you're probably wondering about the food. We were trying to taste as much as we could but the menu options are so massive. So we split the charcuterie board, the steak (NY Strip), truffle fries, broccoli rabe and the rest I can't recall. They knew were were sharing so they had the steak precut for us and brought extra plates out, which again I really appreciated. The drinks were great too! I was a little bit surprised by the consistency of the "Take Me Back To Tulum" cocktail (frozen creamy consistency), but it was really good. I had to have two. I think one of has had the "Blackberry Gimlet" another tasty option. There was a third drink we tried, but I can't recall the name. Suffice it to say that the cocktails are all VERY well crafted. All in all, we had a great time, top to bottom. I will most definitely be stopping in to visit again. I'd like to give a shoutout to Vasyl (?), the manager who checked in on us during the meal. My friend is Eastern European and they had some things in common. We had nice conversation with him towards the end of our visit. His kind manner stuck out to me. You should try the place any time you're in the vicinity. P.S. I can see this being a nice date spot. Keep it in your pocket for a hot date maybe. ;-)

Stumbled across this place while looking for a spot to take my mom for her birthday. I wanted a warm, upscale feel with great vibes and that's exactly what we got! First thing, when making a reservation online be sure to select "Dining Room" and not "Lounge." Fortunately when we arrived the hostess suggested the dining room to enjoy the music. Shout out to her for looking out! This location also has matchbooks for those fellow avid collectors We sat down right by the stage. They have live music pretty much every day of the week so check their website for the schedule. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming. I wish I remember the name of our waitress! She was so cool. To start we orders drinks, I had a Tale Me Back to Tulum which was a sweeter drink made with blanco tequila, coconut and mango cream (which was delish!) mint, dry curaçao, lemon juice, and agave. My mom had her first old fashioned (very proud of her lol) and it was served with monkey shoulder scotch, angostura bitters, orange zest, demerara sugar, and hickory smoked. Knowing my mom's taste, I asked if they could make the old fashioned slightly sweeter and they made it perfect! It was honestly way better than my drink lol. Now for the food. There were so many things we wanted to try so we decided to order a bunch of appetizers and their scallops special. The apps included - Bourbon BBQ meatballs: overall solid. The sauce was smoky and not too watery - peekytoe crab cakes: this came with a nori egg sauce that really pulled the entire dish together! - Scallops: a few years ago I was burned by scallops. They gave me the worst food poisoning and I just never returned. However these restore my faith in scallops! Seared to perfection and topped on a bed of smooth and flavorful hummus and sautéed spinach. And as if it couldn't get any better, a tiny sprinkle of caviar. I wish it was a regular item on the menu because I would order it every single time. Moses Patrou killed it! A playlist of Blues, Jazz, and Soul accompanied our meal and I mean who can ask for a better experience?? Would absolutely recommend The Flatiron Room Murray Hill and would come back in a heartbeat.

2.5 would be fair This was my second time here. First time was great. We were a group of 6, we were very patient, spent a decent amount $1300-1400 or so. Service was beyond slow, numerous times got the wrong items or never got the item at all. The food was below average tonight. Things were cold, soggy, old tasting. We knew we had a time limit and service dragged us. By the end we were told we had to leave because we reached our time limit but we had paid for coffee and cappuccinos that hadn't come yet. Embarrassing to sit there feeling rushed out but knowing you paid for something you didn't get. Overall the music was great but beyond that it felt like a giant rip off this time. The worst item of the night: Seafood tower for $200. The worst one I have ever had. Nothing was fresh. Things covered in sauce to cover the lack of freshness? Best item of the night: Music

I reallllly want to gatekeep this place but I have to put y'all on. The vibes, the food, the drinks are all immaculate. When I tell you the pizza martini is one of the best cocktails I've ever had!!! Such a random idea but it works sooo well. Love the live jazz--it's exactly what I want when I'm feeling a night out in NYC. It's very moody/romantic inside with low lighting and a fireplace that would be so cozy in the wintertime. For dinner I had the risotto which was perfect. The smash burger was alright, but the cocktails made up for it. Overall, loved this place and absolutely recommend it for a chic night out.

I came in for a solo dinner around 8 PM and, although I had a reservation, I chose to sit at the bar since it felt more casual. The bar was about 80% full. After getting settled and reviewing the menus, I waited quite a while before the bartender acknowledged me. I wish I had started keeping track of time right then, but I had no idea how off the service would be. When the bartender finally came over, I asked for recommendations. His tone was short, borderline rude, and it felt like I was bothering him. I tried not to read into it, but every interaction with him after that had the same energy. I closed my menu and set it aside, clearly ready to order. In the meantime, I started chatting with the gentleman next to me. Both our drinks eventually ran dry. The bartender came over to check if he wanted another cocktail, but didn't even look in my direction, despite my drink being empty too. This same pattern continued for a while. The bartender returned multiple times to check in on the man next to me but completely ignored me. He even took my menu without asking if I was ready to order, which I found odd. I could see him disappearing to the back often and spending time on his phone. Eventually, I had to flag him down to order both my next cocktail and dinner. I went with the Omakase sashimi box. My drink came quickly, but 30 minutes passed with no food, no update, and no sight of the bartender. The bar back eventually noticed and came over, kindly asking if I needed anything. When I told him I was still waiting on dinner, he checked the system, seemed confused, and asked what I had ordered. It was clear to me that the bartender never entered my order. Thankfully, the bar back followed up, and soon after, the manager walked by. I let him know what was going on and that the experience had been uncomfortable. I asked if he could speak with the bartender after I left, to avoid any friction. He agreed and offered me a drink, which I declined. He checked in again later and offered sake and dessert, both of which I appreciated. The Omakase box, once it arrived, was delicious. Beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. The music and ambience were also lovely. The bar itself is intimate with maybe nine seats total, and the vibe was exactly what I was hoping for. It's just unfortunate that the bartender soured the experience. He never checked in on me during the meal, only came by to clear my plate and later bring the check. He said nothing while doing either. I stayed until a little after 11 PM, having just two drinks and one entrée. It shouldn't have taken that long. I chose the bar intentionally to make things easier as a party of one. The manager did his best to salvage the night, and the bar back deserves major credit for being the only person who truly provided service. I wish I had gotten his name to recognize him properly. I normally visit New York several times a year, and one of the highlights is always the level of service. This time, sadly, it was the worst I've ever experienced. The food, music, and atmosphere were all wonderful. But service matters, and I left feeling disappointed and confused as to why I was treated so differently. I hope the manager truly does follow up, because this place could be fantastic if bartender lived up to the standard the rest of the restaurant seems to set.

Been to a lot of bars in Manhattan, and this one is cool, intimate and feels grown up. Our bartender knew what he was doing and made up a cocktail for me somewhere in the neighborhood of a Manhattan, appropriately. My wife and I had a couple sushi rolls (the spicey tuna is particularly good) and the crab cakes. Oh man: the crab cakes! I'm from Seattle and eat a lot of crab cakes, but these were the best I've ever had. Very crispy outside, great crab flavor and meat on the inside. MMmmm. And the beet salad was also noteworthy. So good. While we chatted, the jazz trio played, expertly and inventively. Want to feel like you're more sophisticated than you actually are? Or at least than I am? You should really spend a couple hours in the Flatiron Room.

Where is the best place for a table of 4 to sit if they'd like to actually hear the musician during dinner?

When you make a reservations ask the staff to place you infront of the stage.

Has anyone heard the Brooklyn Vortex perform? Is it light jazz? Looking for a romantic mood. Thank you!

Hi Jason, Brooklyn Vortex features Jesse Lynch on piano and their music has notes of classic jazz and soulful R&B.

    Is it 21+ for dinner?

Hi Wendy, No, we do not require our guests to be at least 21 for dinner reservations, however, they will need to be of age to sit at the bar.

Do they have a live band on Friday nights?

Yes they do; live jazz bands

Is the ostrich egg brunch plate still offered here?

It is still on the brunch menu but I haven't ordered it. They may not have it all the time even though on the menu (not saying they don't but some restaurants don't update their menu's). Call ahead

Can I go just for drinks and the music without dinner?

Yes. There is a full bar. Very good drink menu. Bartenders make the best drinks I've ever had.

Absolutely! Make sure to check out their calendar to see who's playing when you decide to go.

Where is the best place to sit to enjoy the music?

You can really sit anywhere. We sat right in front of the stage on the lowest level. But, you would be totally fine sitting on the second level as well.

Is there a strict dress code for Sunday brunch?

No there is not casual attire works

Does a dinner reservation include the show on a Saturday night?

We booked a dinner reservation for our anniversary and enjoyed a wonderful evening of great food and live music. The tables are surrounding the stage area so it doesn't matter where you are you'll hear the music and see the performers. To be honest…

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

I mean, I've had bad pina coladas at dive bars, but I expected more from this place. I would say it was very strong, though, so you know what? That's a good thing to be very strong for that price I'm paying. The spam musubi was also a rip-off. You see two here, but each one costs its own $10, so save your money. Eat somewhere else. Eat a pizza across the street.

It was on a weekday, the day of NBA Finals Game 3 when everyone else were at bars & lounges getting ready for the game to start. This afforded us a beautiful and tranquil experience at Osamil Upstairs. Hidden behind a locked door inside Osamil, it's a spot you have to seek out to get in. After we shared we were going to Osamil Upstairs, the hostess from Osamil promptly unlocked the unmarked door for us to head upstairs to Osamil Upstairs. Had other customers not come out as we were walking up the stairs, we might have passed the entrance to Osamil Upstairs and continued upward! Much like what you might expect of a speakeasy, it's well-hidden, and the interior just blows the mind. It's elegant, beautiful, and comfortable. The drinks were good. My cheese in the trap was smokey (as promised!) and alcohol forward. My hubby had the Jung cocktail and it had the most magical, delicious combination of flavors! We also ordered a foie gras with toast appetizer as a pre-dinner snack; it was OK. All in all, a really pleasant experience and we'd return if we were in the area again!

I got the omija, which seems to be one of their more popular drinks, which is yogurt clarified. It's definitely a bit on the sweeter side for me but nonetheless delicious. Super easy to get a last minute reservation here!

The moment you step inside, you're transported to the Victorian era, with ornate details and charming décor that make the entire space feel like an experience in itself. We stopped in before a show without a reservation and, while the dining room was full, we were able to grab seats at the bar. Honestly, I think it worked out for the best--the bar felt more spacious than the table seating and had a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere for a Wednesday afternoon. The mocktails were as creative as they were delicious, and the cocktail menu offered plenty of tempting options as well. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and impressively efficient, striking that perfect balance of great service without constantly interrupting your conversation. We shared the sliders and the summer salad, and both were generously portioned and perfect for splitting. Between the beautiful setting, excellent drinks, and seamless service, this is definitely a place I'll be returning to.

We needed a place close to our Broadway show "Social Club" From welcoming, to ambiance, to service and to of course the food! My husband had indicated it was our birthdays so they provided a cute birthday card and made sure to wish us Happy Birthday when we checked in. Due to some unforseen circumstances (on our part being First time visitors not understanding NY traffic) we were short on time and they were still able to accommodate us! We were looking forward to do one their prix fix menus but had to cut our time shorter. We had the shrimp cocktail, would recommend and also really loved the serving coupe it came in! Fried artichokes that were mid at best and saved by the sauce it comes with. To save time we split the steak frites, I would recommend, though bot as tender as I normally like, I appreciate the serving and flavorful bites. The drinks are amazing and we love how they're all accompanied by a story! I had the heir to empire and our lovely waitress asked for my favorite color and when the drink arrives, it came with a little coaster in purple! And it was strong without it being overwhelming. For the remaining of dinner, I had a red wine and it was a perfect choice for the meal. Our trip to New York was too short because we wished we had been able to go back and check out their live performances. The vibe if the place was moody and inviting and we wished we could have gone back! We loved the Broadway homage throughout without being tacky.

My only two gripes with the spot were - they didn't acknowledge my birthday, even with a happy birthday from my server or the hostess. I am not sure why Resy prompted me to indicate the occasion if it wouldn't even be acknowledged or looked at. It obviously feels good to feel celebrated, so they dropped the ball in this regard. The second issue is it got sickeningly loud inside. This was a sunday night, and I ended up having to shout just to be heard by the girl right next to me. Everything else was good! Though there wasn't a dish that just blew my mind, everything was consistently really good and enjoyable. I recommended ordering a handful of dishes and sharing with a group. The cornstar martini was fun (and the popcorn was great!), the vodka pasta, caesar salad, and truff fries were enjoyable as well. The cute matchboxes were a cherry on top as we were leaving! I would come back for more of a going out event instead of a sit down dinner, but it's a cool spot!
