Was goin to take one star away for that - the cocktail was good but not for the price. Service was exceptional- the lady waiting on us had a name that matches a Disney character, and our kids and her hummed that famous Disney song - loved that they made them so comfortable in a place that otherwise was not very kid oriented. Amazing view, gorgeous interior design, and incredible service. When they found out I'm allergic to alcohol (I break out in hives), they made mocktails for me that weren't on the menu. It does get pretty loud so be mindful of that in case you wanted a quieter conversation spot. read more

Superb view, very spacious, generally calm mix of entitled hotel guests (and their dogs) and awestruck tourists paying stratospheric prices ($36 for a won ton soup) for pretty tasty food in a great atmosphere. Won ton soup was great and more ramen than soup, beet salad was good, but the cheese plate looked they ran to Whole Foods because they were out. Came in for tea time around 4pm with a fairly empty restaurant. No greeting, no water, no nothing... 10 min later we flagged someone down for help. We live in NYC(not tourists), and were really excited to visit this restaurant as it's instagrammable spot with the whole view of Columbus circle and Central park. We booked our reservation, however, we had to wait about 25 mins for window seating, but we didn't mind waiting because the window seats are not guaranteed for all reservation. Everything was great until our server (Teresa) took our drinks order incorrectly. First of all, she wasn't attentive and seemed like she was in rush in taking our orders (restaurant wasn't even busy). My friend and I ordered same cocktail from the menu "Aperol Melon Crush", it said it has tequila in it, so my friend who isn't a big drinker, she asked for half a shot in the drink and mine the way it is-- then the server seemed confused as she mentioned, "I am not sure if that's possible but I will see what I can do". And we were confused because what's so difficult in asking for a less alcohol in the drink? We got our drinks, but it was two straight shots of tequila, (half a shot for my friend and one shot for myself) with limes. We both were confused and told the server, we did not ask for straight shots of tequila, we asked for half a shot for my friend in the cocktail. And she goes, oh right right let me go fix it. 5 minutes later, she came back with two drinks of Aperol Melon Crush, and we had our first sip, it was too strong as if the shots she brought by mistake was in it. But we didn't complain because we thought maybe they didn't mix the drink properly; so we mixed it with our forks but it was still too strong it killed the whole taste of cocktail, we only tasted tequila. We couldn't finish the drink because it was really bad. Most importantly, who puts shots of tequilla in cocktail for brunch?? (Our reservation was at 1:30pm). Thankfully, the food was great, so we devoured our food. After finish eating, we asked for the check. We checked the bill thoroughly because the server messed up with our drink order. Thank GOD , we did! She charged us for those 2 shots of tequila that we did not even ask for. We never said "add extra shots". Excuse me? My friend asked to put less tequila in the cocktail, but she misunderstood and charged us extra half shot of tequila of $14 and mine one shot $28 in addition to our cocktail. So we called Teresa back to confirm again, she goes you guys ordered tequila, the drink doesn't contain tequila shots at all., you guys specifically asked for tequila, thats why it was charged; she was saying it out so confidently as if we were the crazy ones. So I asked her, what's in the drink then, she goes champagne and other stuff. So I checked the drink menu again, it does say tequila in the drink (I always check with my drinks what's in it ,before I order). So I showed her, this drink has tequila in it, we asked to put half a shot for my friend , and mine just the way it is on the menu, you misunderstood with our order--then she cut us off "oh ok ok ok let me go fix". RUDE. She did not even say sorry or being apologetic with her mistake. We waited about 10 minutes or more for our check to get corrected. She came back and saying", the check is fixed. I really thought you guys wanted extra shots in it. ". I was like what? I signed my check and left. ***My verdict on her actions:**** She took our drink order incorrectly, when we told her this isn't what we ordered, she knew she messed up. However, she didn't want to tell the truth to the bartender or manager about her mistake, so she lied to the bartender , saying the customers want to add shots "in the cocktail"., and did not correct the check and HOPING that we don't catch it on the check with extra charges she made. HOWEVER, we CAUGHT her mistake. She tried to be shady hoping we wouldn't know, just pay and leave. To be quite honest, I normally don't check with my bills at restaurants but this time I did because something was off with her service. Mistake happens, we all are human being. Extremely disappointing afternoon tea experience. Came for a milestone birthday, which was indicated in the reservation. There was no acknowledgement of this. Also had reserved the champagne tea and were not automatically served this despite it being in the reservation. When servers came to our table, they were very pleasant; however, it was very hard to get the attention of servers at any point after the food was delivered. When we realized the champagne was not coming despite being in the reservation, we were already nearly done with the food. Eventually caught the eye of a new server who was more attentive but this was 2 hours in. Overall a subpar experience and very much not worth the high price. The food was mediocre, aside from the smoked salmon sandwich. Good if one is looking for NYC views.Have had many afternoon teas and this ranks very poorly in weighing price to experience. read more

My sweetheart treated me to MO for our anniversary last October and she chose a seating area right by the window with the perfect view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. It was such a pleasant ambiance paired with the time of the year that made this experience so special for me. The staff treated us very well. We chose our cocktails from the drink menu. My tiny drink was $26 but I couldn't help it. I wanted another to enjoy it with my view of Central Park. MO serves food but we had dinner before arriving here. On another occasion, I look forward to returning for a full experience and would love to see Central Park from this point of view during the other seasons. read more

This is truly one of my more complicated reviews. Let me start out with the good, The drinks were excellently crafted and delicious and the martinis had plenty of alcohol in them. The view is honestly subpar, really nothing to write home about. The decor, the decor, Is no longer grand as it once was, maybe in the 90s or 80s given the way it looks, but outdated, unattractive, and can no longer rest on its laurels of what was once fancy and now seems altogether a relic of the past, a past should've ended. That reminds me of an 80s cocaine club with all the mirrors and the steel and the black velvet, a style that should've died. The service was altogether poor unfortunately, which I hate writing at this time, but it is the truth. The last complaint is that they have no blue cheese olives and what's the martini without those? I do have to admit that my viewpoint might be slightly swayed, as the first Mandarin Oriental, I stayed at and dined at, was in Bangkok, and it's one of the most beautiful hotels, and delicious meals, I have ever been to in my life. read more

My fiance and I had a reservation here for our after proposal dinner and he specifically requested a window seat weeks prior the reservation. The hostess confirmed the window seat reservation as my fiancé called to be sure of the request. He simple wanted to make sure I have a beautiful view after he proposed and chose a restaurant that would be ideal for our day. We arrived early and tried to get the hostess' attention but she kept disregarding us. She eventually came over to us and sat us at a table near the walkway and when my fiancé tried to grab her attention once again she blatantly ignored him. I went up to the hostess stand myself after that to see if I can speak to her and she walked away once again. When she finally returned I spoke to her about the request my fiancé made weeks prior to our reservation and she said it's not always guaranteed but if a spot opens up she'll definitely let me know. This was ok up until we saw a table opening up literally 2 minutes after I spoke to her and we called the waiter over to see if he can help us out instead. The waiter completely refused as he said it's not his responsibility and the hostess is the one to decide the seating. We still tried to be patient and started to take a look at the menu but she came back with a couple that was waiting for a table after us and sat them by the window instead. After that I refused to eat at this establishment as it completely ruined our special day. The disrespect the hostess had towards us was unnecessary and the blatant disregard of our requests over customers of a different race is beyond disgusting. As a restaurant business they need to learn how to provide actual customer service and the servers and hosts should get be reevaluated for their attitude. We ended up going over to Jean Georges, where we were greeted very respectfully and were congratulated on our engagement, as an actual business should have treated us. This restaurant definitely left a bad taste after this experience and I hope anybody who tries to visit the place goes in knowing the racism they seem to be portraying before they decide to eat there. read more

The view is incredible! That's what first drew us to the restaurant. We needed to make a reservation pretty far in advance since we were flying in for a short visit to NYC. I would recommend emailing them! They're very willing to help and are responsive. We requested a table by the window for six, which they were able to accommodate. We went for drinks, small plates, and dessert. The burrata was very fresh, the drinks were great, and the mandarin dessert was delicious. My sister got the chocolate fondant which was also amazing. If anything, this is a must try to have some drinks and enjoy the view. To get in, you need to go into the hotel lobby and they will direct you to the elevator to go up to the lounge. read more

Had a Valentine's Day dinner here, with an immaculate view. I have been waiting to go here for a special occasion for years, but they were briefly closed due to covid. For our dinner, we went a little before sunset so we were able experience both day, and night vibes. Getting a reservation here is challenging because they prioritize their hotel guests, but if you book your dinner/lunch/breakfast in advance (I booked 15 days in advance), you'll definitely be able to find a spot. We got a beautiful seat by the window without even having to ask, which I appreciated a lot. The vegetable spread with hummus, chickpeas, and roasted pepper was amazing. I would skip the potato dauphine only because it was kind of like a munchkin texture donut type of appetizer. Otherwise, the non alcoholic margarita and mojitos were phenomenal. The pasta dishes were also amazing, I have absolutely have no complaints. I'd recommend this spot for a romantic dinner, specifically for anniversary and birthdays or even brunch. I can only imagine how beautiful this place would look in the morning with so much natural light, overlooking central park and Columbus Circle. Their service was also very fast, and staff were kind enough to even take us pictures at the end of our dinner. Can't thank them enough for making our evening memorable. read more

Arrived on a Saturday night with my boyfriend who had made reservations about a month prior. We were celebrating our anniversary. I was extremely excited to come here after seeing the tree. After waiting outside the lounge, we were tucked away in a corner behind a small staircase by the bar, hidden from the entire restaurant. My drink order was taken and received promptly, but shortly after that our order was never taken. We waited over an hour. Our same waiter was attending to a gentleman at a table directly, about 4 feet away, next to us who had been given both his drink and food in just under 10 minutes. We sat there in silence the entire time appalled and hungry. We felt ignored to say the least. After about an hour and 15 minutes of patiently waiting, we got up and left in attempts to hopefully find another nice restaurant in the city without a reservation, on the first weekend after the tree had been put up.
