One of my new favorite places in Waikiki! Newly founded by Joji Watanabe, a Japanese mixologist and restaurateur who relocated from NYC where he started NR and ROKC. As the name suggests, they specialize in ramen, oysters, and specialty cocktails. They are most known for their wide selection of clarified milk punches, which were fantastic. We had the Smokey Pina Colada ($18) and Banana & Miso ($18), both fantastic. All of the food was also delicious, including the ramen, scallop ceviche, and pork bun. Can't wait to come back!

Came here on a whim since my boss suggested it! Cool new place with speakeasy vibes. They had a great selection cocktail options including a page just for clarified drinks. All the drinks were made tasty. We ordered a round of oysters for the table, they were really fresh. For the mains, I got the bone marrow wagyu dry ramen which was fabulous. Very rich, buttery, and umami. I wish the portions were just a little bit bigger. Some others also got the shio ramen, I was able to try some and it tasted like very solid shio ramen. I didn't get to try enough to give it a full rating but from what I just got, it was flavorful too. Not too heavy but the perfect amount of satisfaction. Cool spot to come hang and grab some drinks! Loved the interior design, it felt very intimate.

This was a very pleasant find in Waikiki. Decided to head here with friends after a work event. Nice space, friendly service and great food and drinks. We enjoyed the fresh oysters, deviled eggs with Ikura and Uni, karaage chicken, and luxurious uni and Ikura ramen. Everything was well prepared and very good. Check this place out if you're in the area.

Came here hungry and left very happy. Everything we ordered hit the spot, but a few things really stood out. The chicken karaage was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, not greasy at all. Seasoning was on point and it paired so well with the dipping sauce -- honestly hard to stop eating. The truffle egg sando was rich, fluffy, and indulgent in the best way. The truffle flavor was balanced (not overpowering), and the eggs were soft and creamy between pillowy bread. Comfort food elevated. Don't sleep on the mussels with sauce -- so flavorful and satisfying. The sauce was incredible, and we definitely made sure to soak up every last bit. Fresh, well-cooked, and generously portioned. To top it off, the yuzu mocktail was super refreshing -- bright, citrusy, and perfectly balanced. A great non-alcoholic option that didn't feel like an afterthought. Overall, great flavors, solid execution, and food that feels both comforting and elevated. Would absolutely come back just for these dishes alone.

Mixologist Joji was amazing at his craft. Cocktails were perfectly balanced. Enjoyed to the last drop. Others food around me looked amazing. We only tried the cocktails as we just ate. Service was 5 !!!! Loved the Japanese moody vibe. Super clean too!! Come try this new place out!!

Not even kidding ... best meal I have ever had in the island... maybe of all time. They just opened Jan 2026 and moved from NY. I could eat this menu everyday for the rest of my life and die happy. Food: - oysters: came with cocktail sauce, lemon and a shallot/vinegarrette sauces. Wish it had a horse radish and for that it looses a point but i would still order this fresh seafood dish every time. 9/10 - Beer cotton candy muscles: 10/10 (everything about this made my tastebuds dance) a tangy yuzu mixed with a savory beer broth with the perfect sweet and salty bite if muscle - perfection. -Bao buns: 9/10 - more for the picky eater. No complaints but nothing special. A perfectly cooked piece if pork on a fluffy bao bun with a creamy mayo like sauce. Delish. - tokyo ramen: 10/10 it came with the most perfect jammy egg, umami bamboo shoots, loads of green onions and the perfectly cooked and cut noodles and broth. The soup was seasoned to perfection. Even my hubby loved it and he isn't a big ramen guy. Service: PHENOMENAL - he walked through the menu, gave the best suggestions and was very attentive. Drinks: talk to the server, they will give you the best tips. The Truffle and the Melon&prosciutto are pairings and are def worth the try. Truffle comes with cheese and the melon comes with a dried prosciutto. I loved the honeydew flavor if the melon one. Ambiance: i went on a date here with my husband and i couldn't imagine a more romantic place to spend a night out without the kid. The lighting was dim and candled, the art was a masterpiece and the bathroom was clean. Everything about this place was perfect even the music. Saxophone... very nice touch. You will find a place with the best cocktails or the best food... but this place had BOTH! I almost don't want to share this gem but that would be a disservice to this mastery.

Amazing experience throughout the entire time! Ramen and Oysters were definitely the highlight! This place takes you on a culinary adventure with your tastebuds! We came in and honestly there isn't as much people as I anticipated! A clean and classy aesthetic with beautiful artwork! To kick it off, i had the Melon and Prosciutto cocktail and it was a clarified drink that took my mind straight to Italy with a dehydrated prosciutto that really rounded the drink and re-imagined this classic appetizer pairing! The grape was the perfect palette cleanser. The oysters was an amazing delight too, a light, not too heavy vinegary mignonette and cocktail sauce seemed a bit thick, but packs little to no spicy! My favorite was the Wagyu and Bone Marrow Ramen which is what drew me to come here! It did not disappoint! The fattiness of the marrow along with butter melting wagyu mixed with the chewy noodles! Mussels were fresh with a cute tableside service that I must have a redo because I never got to record this! It was spectacular and a MUST!!!! Whocwould habe thought cotton candy and beer with mussels would be this good! Mindblowing experience all around! All you non-alcholic peeps, Yuzu lemonade kinda took my breathe away. And it wasn't your ordinary lemonade, the perfect little sweet and tart and smells soo good too! Overall, i will be back for more! The owner Joji and mixologist Yujin were so nice too. We were mesmerized watching the mixologist as you can tell the drinks come with pride and excellence all the time! Let's not forget to shoutout our amazing server Shota! Thank you for making this a great time!

ROKC Hawaii is an experience from start to finish. The ambiance is moody, intimate, and effortlessly cool - one of those places you immediately want to settle into for the evening. The cocktails were outstanding and easily a highlight. The Yuzu & Sansho was bright with a subtle peppery kick, the Botanical Garden was clean and refreshing, and the Matcha High Ball was light, crisp, and beautifully balanced. Every drink felt thoughtfully crafted rather than gimmicky. Food was equally impressive. The Deviled Egg + Egg + Egg was playful and rich, the Scallop Ceviche was fresh and vibrant, and the Mussel + Beer + Cotton Candy was both fun and surprisingly delicious. The Karaage was perfectly crispy, and the Tokyo Ramen was comforting and full of flavor. Excellent service throughout--friendly, knowledgeable, and well-paced. ROKC Hawaii nails ambiance, cocktails, and food. We'll absolutely be back.

Came here twice during our visit to Waikiki. The first time, they were a little busy and overwhelmed. Service was slow and they ran out of oysters. We came again for happy hour and the experience was much better. The food is really good! We loved the oyster happy hour and the wagyu & bone marrow. Karaage was also good. Was not a fan of the Tokyo ramen. But the real standout beyond the dishes we loved were the drinks! We had the truffle, melon & procuitto, tomato & calm, and eastern pisco. Every drink was so original and tasty! My husband said he wanted to try other drinks but also wanted to get the melon & procuitto over and over again. Definitely want to come back again when we visit. It's so conveniently located to a number of hotels in Waikiki

BOMB!!! I don't know how we came across this place but I highly recommend it , unfortunately I had to take it easy on my dice tolerance so I ordered the chicken with corn ramen and it was Divine wish I could've tasted each plate that was ordered on the table. Perfect place for Valentine's, date nights or even to get good quality Asian food . The ambiance and atmosphere of this place is dark ,earthy and romantic. And all servers are very very nice and knowledgeable of what they are selling. Now since I was going easy I couldn't try the cocktail's BUT... I ordered the Yuzu lemonade and OMG !!!! I that was literally liquid gold! My mom's friend ordered the fresh ginger ale and that was also pretty amazing too , and I don't like ginger also supposedly am "allergic/intolerant " to Ginger . So I highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to dress up and get a good meal for a reasonable price!

The food was good overall, though the menu is on the smaller side and there's no dessert offered. The ambiance was nice, dimly lit and great for a date spot. Parking is available at the Bank of Hawaii lot across the street, and the restaurant does validate. Cocktails were solid, with most starting around $18. Pricing felt fair for the quality, except for the Wagyu ramen, which was a bit pricey, the Wagyu is locally sourced. Standout dishes for us were the clams, which were super flavorful, the egg sandwich where the truffle flavor really comes through, and the scallops, which were also delicious and well seasoned. The only minor downside was the service. It wasn't bad, but it could be more attentive. For example, the clams came with sauce, but we also had dry appetizers and no extra plates were provided, so putting dry items on a wet plate would have made them soggy. Small details like that could be improved.

    Truffle egg sandwich

Food was amazing!! Highly recommend the scallop ceviche and the truffle egg sandwich if you are a truffle lover.

You have to eat the cheese the drink and the surprise will cone out!!!

With this much food, your entire party could share a full meal and still be satisfied with the diverse menu options that are offered. Located on the second floor of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, along the busy corridor of Kalakaua Avenue, this is the second stateside location of TsuruTonTan Udon Noodle Brasserie after successfully opening in the heart of New York City. Originally founded in Osaka, Japan, TsuruTonTan specializes in authentic handmade udon, where the noodles themselves take center stage. Their goal is to have each bowl thoughtfully crafted and topped with a wide variety of ingredients, from aromatic bonito flakes and savory kombu kelp to locally sourced vegetables and meats, all carefully selected to complement the restaurant's high-quality noodles. The name TsuruTonTan draws inspiration from the sounds associated with the art of udon making. In Japanese, "Tsuru" represents the sound of slurping noodles, "Ton" evokes the kneading and shaping of the dough, and "Tan" signifies the cutting of the noodles. Together, these three sounds embody the spirit of TsuruTonTan and its dedication to the craft of handmade udon. What drew me into this location, with plenty of options surrounding them was TsuruTonTan's Special Dinner Set, which for a reasonable $38 diners would received no fewer than six menu items starting with their house salad which was fresh arugula lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and a vinaigrette and a small sampling of their Edamame. You also get a choice of Appetizer between chicken, tofu and shrimp tempura, of which I selected their Chicken Karaage. Then for your entrée, diners have the choice between six udons to select from, from your traditional soup based udons to one that particularly stood out to me, their Truffle Cream Udon, so I knew that I was going to order this menu item. As if that wasn't enough food, diners get to order one sushi roll that they handcraft here at TsuruTonTan and I selected their Sunfire Roll, which had a shrimp tempura mixed with cucumber, avocado and topped with spicy tuna. And then, for your final course, diners get to enjoy a scoop of ice cream, of which on this day our only option was rainbow sherbet. The first four courses to be presented to my table were the salad, edamame, Chicken Karaage, and my four slices of the Sunfire Roll. These four entrées probably would have been enough food and I would have been satisfied with my meal overall. The Chicken Karaage were five deep-fried nugget pieces served with lemon and piping hot upon served and the Sunfire Roll was a nice combination of sushi roll flavors. Then came my Truffle Cream Udon, which was topped with balls of crab meat, sliced truffle mushrooms, and shaved parmesan cheese. Creamy and cheesy goodness, this entrée was a hearty and heavy dish that combined the flavors of both Japan and Italy thanks to the heartiness of the udon noodles. The ice cream scoop was a nice touch to end what was already a filling meal. I really enjoyed my meal at TsuruTonTan Udon Noodle Brasserie with so many menu items to choose from it seems overwhelming. Thankfully they have a number of popular and recommended menu items that any visitor looking for a good meal can choose from. The $38 dinner set created specifically for Hawaii diners, which includes a spicy udon soup and a garlic shrimp rice dish, has already piqued my interest and given me a reason to return. And return I will, as long as the service, prices, and food remain as consistently strong as they are at TsuruTonTan Udon Noodle Brasserie. Offering elevated comfort food that seamlessly bridges cultures and culinary traditions, it stands out as a unique dining destination well worth revisiting.
