The other one standing there playing on her phone while one person is making beignets and dipping sanitary procedures terrible customer service atrocious she was violating every food handling rule by feeding her face, dipping her food in her Chick-fil-A sauce and then touching peoples orders. read more

This place is one thing of the reasons we love visiting Mobile. I was disappointed after I asked the cashier twice to put the sugar in a different bag than the beignets and she didn't. I explained to her that we were traveling. When our order came out we got 4 bags of beignets with the sugar on them. We were pressed for time so I didn't make a big deal out of it but, the beignets were destroyed with the sugar melting on them in the car with 106 temps outside. We will go back but I will make sure the order is correct before I leave. It was $20 wasted. read more

This place is da bomb. If you're in Mobile you don't need to drive out to Nola to grab some Bennys. It's $5 and some change for 3 and $19 for 12. They sell little sauce containers for a dollar and they have milk there to buy as well. The restrooms and dining area is really clean. read more

Not only are the beignets to die for but me and a friend visited 30 minutes before closing. Our order took a little longer than expected (which we had no issues with because their beignets are worth the wait), but they compensated us with a gift card and were so beyond nice. They genuinely care about their customer service. It was an overall amazing experience. Even during our first trip here the line was almost to the door and we barely had a 10 minute wait until we received our food because of how incredible the staff is. When you step in you almost forget that you are in. Mobile ! It's really a wonderful place to enjoy a nice treat! The service is very friendly . Everyone in town recommended Mo Bay for beignets so we made this our final stop before the airport ... and it was the perfect way to conclude our trip to Mobile. The front door opens into a socially distanced seating area and through a small hallway is the kitchen and ordering counter. The kitchen is open so the freshly prepared beignet process can be seen. The simple menu with only beignets, syrups, and coffee is displayed on the wall. The buttercream syrup was not quite ready so we ordered a 3 piece beignet with the seasonal raspberry syrup and cinnamon syrup and some coffee (all of which can be prepared iced). The beignets were hot and fresh, a little toasty on the outside and soft on the inside. My husband enjoyed the just-right balanced sweetness and the subtle, refined buttery taste of the cinnamon syrup and I loved the fresh fruitiness of the raspberry. We liked it so much that we ordered a 12 piece to take back to Florida (the kind lady at the counter advised us to keep the sugar on the side until we were ready to eat it and to reheat in the air fryer at 200 for 5 minutes). If you like anything as much as we did, there is a gift area where you can buy beignet mix, the syrups in a jar, and chicory coffee! read more

Delicious! I think they are lighter than beignets in NOLA. It's like the difference between Krispy Kreme and Sugar Rush in density. Sugar Rush's donuts are more airy and less dense. My only complaint is the physical setup of the location. The place is packed with people standing around. The sitting area is separate and like a nondescript area. I'd totally redo this place. The decor in the ordering area is cute though. Odd. I would not sit in to eat because it just seems chaotic. However, the beignets are worth the trip and some of the aggravating wait--only some of it, for a little while. read more

Hey... so I'll preface this by saying we have family that lives in New Orleans, and we know about Café Dumond.. These without a doubt are the BEST beignets we have ever had. I took the twins for an after dinner treat and we were mind blown. Not only is this one of our favorite stops for beignets and glass bottle cokes, but the owners are just about the most amazing people you'd ever ask to meet. They remembered my twins names after our first visit. The energy in the building is amazing- which radiates from the staff and the food. This should ALREADY be a Mobile staple, and IT WILL be an icon to the city. Do yourself a favor, and go. read more

So good! We tried beignets with the cinnamon sauce and the buttercream (both were great but the buttercream flavor was out of this world - a very light, buttery caramel flavor). Beignets were pillowy and amazing. Both the coffee with chicory and the praline pecan flavored coffee were fresh and tasty. I'm from Louisiana born and raised so I know a good Beignet when I taste one. Mo'Bay Beignet is ok for what it is. I'll give them a "C" grade for trying. New Orleans still has the best Beignets around but this will do if you don't feel like taking the drive. read more

After reading reviews I decided to give this place a go. The shop itself is cute and modern but I found the beignets to be lacking. The only thing that brought them flavor was the powdered sugar but it was subpar at best. They definitely do not live up to the ones like at Cafe du Monde. If you need a sauce to make them good then it's a no in my book. Service was fine it was not busy at all when I went but I will definitely not come again. read more

DELISH BUT SLOW Just stopped in this morning for a very anticipated beignet on our way out of town. Restaurant very well done and beignets very tasty but customer service definitely not great. I think they waited to start cooking ours until enough people walked in to justify a batch. We were there 15-20 minutes waiting for something that should be out almost immediately. Coffee sat on the bar getting cold waiting for the beignets. I finally had to ask how much longer and the girl who took our order acted surprised that I was asking. What happened? The first time we came here during the opening week - absolutely stellar service and hot crisp beignets. We were in the mood for beignets and coffee tonight so we drove over. The first clue was ominous - a mop and dirty bucket water greeted us when we entered. And no other customer was sitting at a table. However - we pushed on. We opted for the mini beignets - but we were quickly served old beignets that were microwaved. They did not come out of a hot oil fryer - they were neither crisp nor piping hot. They were barely warm. And the girl at the register looked blankly when I asked for a nondairy milk to go in my iced Pecan coffee and she mumbled something and pointed to the creamer station. When I clarified I wanted an iced drink - she then mumbled something about oatmilk when I inquired. And later, when I was served the coffee by another girl- there wasn't any oatmilk inside of it!! So I immediately asked if there was any oatmilk in it (so that she'd fix the situation) but she quickly claimed it was in there and left. Ha! It was a dark iced coffee. We each ate one mini beignet, knew that we got tricked, and then trashed the rest for Oscar the Grouch to keep. Perhaps we came at a bad time (Thursday night after 6 p.m.) but we are angry and frustrated from wasting money here. read more
