The staff told me that the speakers were indeed the problem and needed to be replaced. These people were great....very professional and not pushy at all. My experience came 2 years ago, so maybe things have changed. I had some subs and amp installed in my truck, the installer did not act like he wanted to do any work. I was the only customer there during regular hours. After banging on a piece of the frame with a mallet for a while, he later realised he could use a power tool to take off the piece. Then after that he said, "sorry man but i need to take a s%^t I'll be back later" (not joking). I just recently went to the shop to get an estimate just to see how cheap they are for some components, I figured they would be one of the cheapest around due to their poor service and ghetto store experience. They quoted me the same as Progressive Audio, who is way better quality, knowledge, and expertise. I ended up going with Security and Sounds because they are the best (but most expensive), they silliscoped/tuned my amp and they said the subs/amp installed were way overgained, as well as some other things, and Im lucky i didnt trash my new subs. I gave 2 stars because, at that time they saw me w/o an appointment, and installed my deck succesfully. Im being generous with the 2 stars, and I would not recommend going here. Was looking around for places to install an alarm system. After such reading such great reviews I thought I would go down and check this place out for myself. I only went for an estimate but like most reviews say the customer service is on point! The lady who quoted me was so genuine and welcoming if I had the money now I would have bought everything right then and there. Will definitely be back! Hats off for the unsurpassed professionalism shown by both Traci and Ryan on my recent install of a rear view camera 2016 CLA Benz. I had been looking high and low for a reputable firm that could install the camera that could be integrated with with my factory console. I finally found Mobile Car Audio through a recommendation. The Mobile Car Audio name is somewhat of a misnomer... These folks have the expertise/know how in areas that reach far beyond just high quality auto audio/security electronics servicing. They knew exactly what was needed for the install based on information of my make/model and pictures sent to them of my dash. Very unprofessional and extremely overpriced!!!! I bought an amp and sub from them last year that was overpriced compared to what Amazon and various online outlets advertise. I found out too late and I asked to wire it to 1ohm which that amp is made for but instead they wired it to 4ohm. I know this because they brought the tool out to test the terminals on the box. "Oops" and "sorry" was the response. Fool me once.... I came to them when I sold the vehcle and needed it removed which they did for free, only positive experience. Went back to shop for head unit and speakers and they offered some RF component and coaxials for combined total of $300+ overpriced compared to Amazon online. I didnt know this at the time either until AFTER I preorderd the head unit. I was looking for a rear USB connection HU which they "didn't" carry but instead was offered a similar HU with front USB for $270. I searched online and found the flagship model WITH rear USB for $209!!!!! Called them back immediately to cancel order which they did but only after an attempt to make me feel bad after the "free" removal of amp and box which they initially stated was no problem since I bought them there. After the cancellation they notified me they couldnt refund but could give me store credit. I felt bad for some reason about the situation so I bought a "DIY" RF 4 gauge amp kit for $125 which after my $40 down payment came out to $85. I had to go online to check and found it for $55 for complete and packaged RF 4 gauge amp kit! Ridiculous! I never write reviews for anything but this whole situation angered me so much that I feel obligated to share my experience with this car audio shop. I saw a lot of audio awards on their walls but I assume they made those themselves from the profits they get from ripping people off! If I could give them a half star I would. Just since they removed the amp and box for free. read more

Wow! The absolute best experience I've had on this island! I'm not gonna lie coming from the Big Island was really hard. The people are really different over here and I'm always looking for a locally runned shop. I'm convinced this place is the best shop for all you car alarm/stereo needs. I called for a quote for an alarm for my civic an I was quoted a very reasonable price by Tracie. She was super helpful and didn't push anything on me I didn't need I just told her what I wanted and that's what I got. When I got there I also asked about speakers because mine didn't work she gave me a price on some new ones but also had the guys check first if I needed them before installing the new ones also she hooked me up with free upgrades and even offered me lunch. I absolutely will be back for a touch screen DVD player and a backup camera. Everyone needs to check this place out! I own a 2008 Nissan Frontier Extended cab. I was looking for an upgrade to my factory speakers so I ventured here because Progressive Audio in the Harbor Center turned me away because they did not have time to do my install. They also promptly told me they were booked for the rest of the month. So I go here and tell them what I want. Not once did I feel pressured into getting anything excessive. They gave me several options for what I wanted and told me they could start whenever was good for me. I decided to get a Rockford Fosgate P3 12" with a Rockford Fosgate 500.2 amplifier. They made a box that fits to the contour of my back seat and it looks really nice. The custom work in amazing. I turned this thing on and holy crap. The sound is way better than I ever expected. Another thing I like is how they charged me a flat rate for all of the custom work. The work, box, speaker, amplifier, and 4 gauge wiring kit totaled $1100. So that comes out to $27 per hour for install. You cannot find that anywhere on this island for that price. Awesome work and excellent customer service. If there was a one hundred star option I would choose it without hesitation. After a botched alarm installation somewhere else we were about ready to give up hope. We called several alarm shops and explained our problem but Mobile Car Audio showed how much they cared from the beginning. We went down to the shop so Joey could check out our car. He instantly put us at ease with his great understanding, knowledge, and the way he listened. We then scheduled an appointment to have the alarm system re-wired. When we brought the car in my boyfriend wanted to stick around in case Joey came across anything that he wanted to share with us. As soon as Joey pulled the system out he began pointing out the errors of the other company. Let me back track and say, the kind of alarm problems we were having were ridiculous. Our battery died tons of times after installing the alarm, every time we didnt arm our car the battery would be completely dead, and we just kept facing problem on top of problem. Anyway, Joey explained to us what was wrong and how he was going to fix it. When the fixing was done he told us what he had done. Joey then told us to leave our car unarmed over night and let him know the next morning if we experienced problems. Went home, left the car unarmed, woke up the next day and BOOM problem solved. The car even locked itself. I am so happy that we went to an amazing business and I will definitely refer anyone I know here. Found these guys on yelp so I thought I would give them a shot. I went here to get my viper remote start alarm installed. They originally told me it was going to be about 4 hours due to the other customers being worked on. I had my daughter at the time and she wasn't having it just sitting around doing nothing. So we decided to walk to the mall but one of the workers told me to take his car instead of walking. What other shop would actually let you take their personal car out!! I get a call 2 1/2 hours later saying my car was done. The work was done very clean and can't see any loose wire hanging around. I'll definitely be back to install some sounds. read more

My older 94 Hondas auto locks aren't working so I stopped by to see if they could fix it. They did a check up in the drivers side door devices and found the problem which I declined to fix. I asked how much I owed them for the check up and they said no charge, if you decide to fix it later please come back. I left a tip because it was about a 20 minute check up and I will go back if I have any problems they can fix in my cars. read more

Amazing, This is my first Yelp review. This shop did an excellent job, most impressive was the attention to detail. I do my own work to my vehicles that way I know it is done right. The work I needed was beyond my expertise, bypassing existing components and rewiring entire audio system. Of course I stayed to watch all that was involved and damn I was impressed. My installer Joey was happy to answer the hundreds of questions I had about his work and other items not at all related. The owner of the shop even purchased lunch for me, so unexpected. Our car's HID lights went out, I gave them a call and they said come on over so they can check it out. We came right in and they quickly checked the car. They told us it was just the ballast need replacing, thank goodness we didn't have to replace the whole unit. They just sold us the ballast for $75 which is way lesser than what others were trying to charge us. The guy installed it for less than 5mins, so we were in and out. Most places I called wanted to charge us a fortune for labor, and some even wanted "diagnostic" fees. Anyway, this place was awesome and honest! Fast prompt service, they really know what they are doing. I can't believe other places wanted so much info from from you like light sizes, brand, color, car's VIN number, your middle name, magic password before they even entertain you to make an appointment... It's crazy! And yet this place took us right in, with no appointment necessary and got us done in no time, we spent less than 10mins. Best car fix ever! read more

The girl that helped me was really informative and didn't give me the impression that she was trying to sell me something. She asked me what I was looking for and explained what my options were. They even replaced the embarrassing looking mount that was in there for free and offered free drinks while I waited, AND gave me a military discount.
