Like many before me I was drawn to this establishment because of the rave reviews found online. Tracie who works the front desk makes shopping for car audio components extremely easy. She is knowledgeable, easy going and very good at her job. Over the past three months I have visited this establishment 2 times to have work done on my car. The first time I asked them to make upgrades to my vehicles audio system but didn't want anything too loud. Tracie had me speak to one of the installers who recommended certain components. After completing the install I realized he gave me EXACTLY what I had asked for. The audio was upgraded and it wasn't anything crazy loud. Roughly one month after the install I realized I wanted more. So I went right back to Tracie who worked with me to give me what I really wanted. So I just got a sound system and back speakers installed and were so impressed with their awesome customer service and reasonable prices that I just had to write a review! First off, everyone there is super nice. We bought my son a 2005 Honda Civic and naturally, he wanted to change out the speakers and sound system. My older son helped him purchase everything on Crutchfield and thought he could help him install everything. But he had trouble installing the sound system and back speakers. Feeling bad that he couldn't make good on his promise to his younger brother, he called one of the major sound system installers (won't mention their name, but they are ranked in the top three on yelp), and they gave this ridiculous quote of $150 to installl the sound system and $250 to install the front door speakers! My son didn't even bother to ask him how much it would cost to install the back speakers. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! It's as if they wanted to punish us for buying our own equipment, which was only $220 total! It would have cost me twice as much as the equipment just to install it!!! So, I went on yelp, saw all the awesome reviews for Mobile Car and called. Tracy answered my call and gave me a quote that was so much less, based on the type of car and sound system I had -- $75 to install the sound system and $75 for the back speakers (the back speakers were slightly more than if they were in the back door). And she was super nice. She didn't make me feel bad about buying my own equipment. They were able to see me the day I called, and once again, everyone was super nice. Fast service, awesome customer service, and reasonable prices that don't make you feel like you are getting ripped off. When the installation was done, Tracy did a step by step demo of the different features. If you are looking for a car audio company, stop looking and call these people!!! It's made me think about redoing my car sound system, based on my experience. Definitely a 5 star experience!!! read more

this place is located on Kam, going towards Aiea. don't be confused by the rail project going on, because they're still open during their open hours! I guess depending on the time there might be an issue with parking because it's a small little lot, but the two times i've dropped in I found parking easy - I just park right in front of their entrance (in the designated stalls of course). They're very friendly, & they know exactly what they're talking about. They've got different car options for stereos and they also have options if you want to change out your actual radio at reasonable costs. I think it's best if you give them a call, because they're more than happy to give you a rough estimate. I had to change out my back speakers because they were blown out. it was very quick & they have wifi, so i was able to do my homework while i waited. I was pleased, however, maybe five months later my speakers blew out again. Note: I don't normally listen to my music that loud, so till this day i'm honestly not sure if it was the speakers itself or me. however, they told me I was covered for one year, so they replaced them free of charge!! she told me it's probably because my stereo is old, and the speakers are too advanced / new for them. The only thing is I wish they would've told me this before. A month after it's replaced, it blew again. It makes a rattling noise, however, it went away. It sounds completely fine now. So i'm a lil confused on that, but they're still good people willing to help! read more

I've heard and read great reviews about this place and decided to go check them out, I got there Sunday morning at 0930 to make sure to get in before anyone else.. 10 a.m. store was still closed.... I waited until 1020 a.m. and still nobody showed up. So as far as the quality of work they do I cannot elaborate on. As far as puncuality, and pressionalism of running a business, horrible!!! Had a problem with programming additional remotes for my Progressive Security System which was already installed in a truck I recently purchased. Two other dealers could not program it, so I called Mobile Car Audio and they said to come right over. Drove in :10 min later and they quickly started programming the two new remotes I had. I went here because I found them on Skype and read the reviews. They did not disappoint. They admit they are slightly more expensive than some other shops but you pay for what you get. They are professional, provide products and services based on your vehicle and your use, not on what they want to sell you. They never push you into buying anything and often will tell you not to get what you do not need. (I was also able to get my windows tinted right afterward as there is a man who tints next door, guaranteed product and work. Excellent install.) Trustworthy, helpful and friendly. They even helped me set up my deck and sync it with my phone for blue tooth. Told me any time I have questions or issues to just call or stop by. Mobile Car Audio... where do I start. My semi-annual car check-up confirmed that the factory alarm module in my Mountaineer was broken. The auto locks and my rear window hatch were no longer controllable with the remote key FOB and the door switches. Good and bad news was that they (FORD) didn't make that module anymore (BAD NEWS) so I didn't need to pay the crazy dealer prices to replace and fix the problem (GOOD NEWS). They (FORD) did advise me that an alternate was to install an aftermarket alarm that could by-pass the broken module, so this is where Mobile Car Audio comes in the picture. I live on the West side of the island so in order to avoid the crazy traffic, I focused my search for a car alarm shop mainly in the Central to Leeward areas of Oahu. Mobile Car Audio had really good Yelp reviews, and I did business with previous car stereo/alarm shops who were previous tenants of the shop where Mobile Audio is now so I decided to give them a shot (and they opened at 0900, a whole hour before almost all the other shops opened so was easy to come up with a shopping plan, and they close at 2000, 2 hours after most shops close). I got there as soon as they opened (TUESDAY), I was promptly greeted by one of their technicians (Donald(?)) and Tracie. I explained the problem that I was having with my Mountaineer and Tracie was able to explain exactly what they would do, what system I could install (I asked for the basic system that mimics the features that my factory alarm already had), approximately how long it was going to take (3-4 hours), and exactly how much it was going to cost (including labor). She explained that because of the holiday specials they were already booked up for the day but that she'd give me a call later in the day if one of their afternoon appointments canceled and she could also squeeze me into the next day (WEDNESDAY) just in case so I took those installation times. I did go to 2 other shops during the morning to get more options and prices but it took me almost 15 minutes just to get somebody to talk to me and after discussions, I had an impression that it was going to take longer and cost me more so I decided to go with Mobile Car Audio. On WEDNESDAY afternoon I dropped off my car. They took longer to install the system because they had to figure out how to work around the already broken system but that was not an issue for me. I knew that they had to do more digging than most installs because they had to locate the broken module then bypass what they needed to bypass in order to make the new Clifford alarm work and still allow for the car to work because that broken module still controlled stuff not necessarily associated with the factory security system. As promised, Tracie, kept me up to date on what was going on (calls and texts). They finished that evening (WEDNESDAY) but because of previous plans I had for the night, I asked if it was possible for them to hold on to my car until the next morning, and they did (they actually kept my car INDOORS overnight). All in all, everything they did pretty much put my car back to "pre-broken" status and there was no added costs, even if they had to do more work than they originally thought. They did a VERY good job of hiding all wiring and there was no evidence of any post-work debris (cable ties, tape, wires, etc.) that you would expect to see for a job like this. Overall, I am EXTREMEMELY happy with the job that Mobile Car Audio did and I would definitely come back here if I was ever in the market again for a car alarm or stereo. read more

After buying a buying a new car i was shopping around for a quality sound system. my last car was is300 with some damn good sounds, so i knew what i wanted. after shopping around, reading forums and come to find out my bro, did his system a few days prior at the same place and had rave reviews, i had to stop in and check it out! to my surprise, there was no HARD SALE and they even told me i could bring in my own stereo parts to have them install!! When have you ever heard of a sales man telling you NOT to but the deck, but to stay stock because the stock one had great features?! i was speechless and had to ask Joey, to repeat himself. I was so happy to get the straight up answer vs BS to make a sale! after some talking and chit chat about different models of decks, speakers, subs and amp... i decided to go with them for the install for my new car. the PRICE'S are good, but the knowledge and customer service is freaking awesome!!! i was able to install that day in 2 hrs and be on my way. i came back to see my car DONE, sounding great and they even talked to me about other options i had available if i wanted. Yowza and awesome! The owner and staff were awesome. All are knowledgeable and helped me get the right thing I actually needed. No hard sales pitch or push to buy the most expensive. Instead they gave me a reasonable price and just fixed what was needed. Donald was able to fit a nice screen and Bluetooth DVD without cutting up my classic Lincoln. Ryan recommended a good reverse camera system to guide me parking my large gangsta Steve mcgarrett Lincoln. Even the receptionist Tracey was so helpful in helping me pick what I needed. I now can crank out the tunes,answer my phone through my sound system, reverse using rear camera, and watch Bluetooth movies from my phone or from a DVD. I am so happy I went to these guys. I honestly can say these guys are the best shop in town and would highly recommend them for ALL your alarm and audio needs. I had initially come in for help with starter issue, due to a faulty ignition switch. The problem was that my alarm auto start was spliced in to that circuit and what would have takin 15 minutes to repair turned in to a HOUR, and that's IF you know what your doing. I called 2 other SHOPS in that area and was TURNED DOWN over the phone because "if they didn't install the alarm, they wouldn't touch my car" exactly (would not help me fix my issue) me "ah ok thanks for your help" but these guy DO CARE! AND DID HELP! Not only did they install the ignition switch they wired in the alarm auto start correctly and quickly with a turn around time of 1 HOUR!
