First off I have to apologize for taking two weeks to write this ... that said, stop shopping around for screen repair/replacement! I called Mike and set-up an appointment for a quote ... I was just expecting a quote but he must have known his prices were good as he had allotted time to do the work right there and then. Quite a pleasant surprise! I had 8 screens to repair and some were flat-out missing. Not only that, I had some funky screens seldom used (thanks Clairemont developers!) yet Mike was able to replace the screens on 4 and fabricate new functional frames for the other 4 all in the time he schedules and at a really good price. He's also quite a pleasant guy to chat with and has suggestions for other contractors he trusts for other work he doesn't do (he was a contractor for 30 years so knows his stuff.) About 4:15 I was called and told they ran over other appointments and would not be coming (they could have called earlier to say that.) The frame on our large sliding screen door broke. Actually, I broke it when I tried to take it out of the track to clean it. It was old... leave me alone! Anyway, it's not a standard size door that could have found at Home Depot, so I started calling around to several mobile screen door replacement companies. They wanted over $300 to build and install a simple sliding screen door. I was reluctant to pay that much, but luckily, one of those companies was nice enough to recommend I call Mike at Mobile Re-Screen. He told me Mike would do the same job for half what he was going to charge me. I couldn't believe he was sending me over to his competitor (and friend I assume). When I called Mike (his actual cell phone, not some office answering service) he gave me a great quote right over the phone. I asked how quick he could come take care of it and he said he could do it the following morning. I asked if he could come at 7:00 am so I could still make it to my job on time. He asked if he could do 7:30 just to make sure he had time to get all the supplies he needed before he showed up. I said that was fine. Wouldn't ya know it...the next morning he showed up at 7:00 am on the nose! Exactly 1 hour later I had a brand new sliding patio screen door. It's a beautiful thing! I appreciate the fact that Mike runs a family business (father & son), they are local, and not some big corporation looking to rip you off. Give your business to the local hard working man. Came out at appointed time and re-screened 2 sliding door screens. One was challenging with wheel/adjustment problems. After Mike left the problem with the wheel/adjustment returned. Our sliding screen door has been stubborn/tough to close for some time. As a result some holes developed. I called Mike to get a quote on a screen slider replacement. His quote came in lower than competitors. He arrived on time, was courteous, profession and honest. Mike and Mobile Re-Screen are the BEST. I had a screen door put in by Mike and because of the poor design of the frame - the frame was not square and the doors would not close flush. In fact, when closing the patio and screen door there was a huge gap! Mike replaced the screen and I had someone else fix the patio door so it would close flush. I called Mike back and told him that since the patio door was now shutting, I really needed a way to get the screen door to shut as well. Mike came up with an ingenious idea of creating a frame on top of the frame that would pivot and close the gap. It took awhile to get back on the schedule, but Mike came and did the work. When I asked Mike how much I owed him he said nothing. He said with everything I had been through to get this door fixed he would not charge me extra. That is AMAZING customer service right there.
