Scott just came to our rescue last week after we lost our brakes on Hwy 17 while towing our travel trailer to New Brighton Beach state park. We stopped in Scotts Valley and called several area mechanic shops, but they were all almost closing and had no good advice for us besides to call back the next day to see if they could get us in. My husband is an ex truck driver so used his skills to get us to our campsite, but were so stressed out about getting it repaired and making it back home, especially since it was Christmas week. I called three mobile mechanics and Scott was the first one to call me back later that evening. First thing the following morning he was in communication with us, asking for pictures, and he immediately started trying to get the part. He got the part by afternoon and came to our campsite that day and repaired the brake line! Hours from home on a Sunday my car broke down. What shops were open, could not help us til Monday. Tow drivers gave us Scotts info and he was on scene almost immidetaly. He was patient with us 6 crazy females. He not only was able to fix my car (a bolt my husband forgot to tighten when he replaced my breaks and callipers) but he went above and beyond and checked all 4 sets to make sure we made the 2.5 hour drive home safe. Scott is absolutely amazing. I'm pretty handy when it comes to working on my own vehicle, but I got in over my head last weekend. I was replacing the upper and lower control arms and could not get the coil springs back in and the lower arm back on. I called Scott on Sunday morning and he came down that afternoon. Turns out O'Reilly's gave me the wrong kind of compressor. He helped me get the right one and finish the job. Even helped me out with putting the rest of the suspension back together as it was getting late and I needed the truck for work the next day. And he was far cheaper than a shops hourly rate. He even showed me how to do a few thing I was having trouble with so that when I do the other side next week, I'm confident I'll be able to finish it out myself. Which ended up being a blessing in disguise...As I do not have much money to spend on a mechanic. Scott's service was of the absolute highest quality. Our truck was stuck on a hill in a remote area of Boulder Creek. This was NOT a normal house call. Scott is amazing. I used him a couple of times a few years ago. He was able to rebuild the drum on my brake and get me back on the road asap. It happend a second time on the other side and I called him again. About 4 weeks later it went out again turns out he had gotten a bad part from the auto supply store, he replaced it at no charge. This has got to be the most inconvenient experience I have ever had with a mechanic. Can't set an appointment for the life of him. I called him. On a Thursday when my radiator had cracked we agreed on a Tuesday to come repair it. Monday night I had texted him and he had no idea who I was or what we had texted about and said that the soonest he could come out was friday. So now i have just been put back a week with this repair. In my opinion go drop your vehicle off at a garage somewhere, where they can give you a deffinate time to get around to it, otherwise you might just be left in the dark by an old guy with a wrench. read more
