The entire experience with the MobiSurg team from booking through follow up after my daughter's procedure has been exceptional. While having a child go through a procedure where anesthesia is needed can be scary, the team was genuinely caring, kind and informative and made it a very positive experience. I was very anxious knowing that my son was going to be out under general anesthesia but once I began communication with Dr Jeff my mind was at ease. As a Registered Nurse, I highly value my patients feeling comfortable, at ease, and sense that I care. Being on the receiving end of it for my son with autism, I can honestly say that Dr. Jeff's team is excellent! My 26 yo son with autism had to have all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed plus 1 tooth with cavity. He went under general anesthesia for it. A couple of weeks before the procedure, Dr. Jeff called to ask questions about my son and explained the type of anesthesia used. The night before the procedure, as I was in the plane heading home for the procedure, I received a call again from Dr. Jeff reiterating things and asked if I had any questions. I believe that the second call the night before really makes a world of difference. The moment we arrived, every single person were so hospitable it felt like we were VIP's and everyone came to work that day solely for us. I am especially grateful that I was allowed to be in the room where I watched Dr. Jeff inserted an IV on my son's hand and pushed the meds until my son fell asleep seconds after. As a nurse, those things don't bother me, but I wanted to be there so my son could feel at ease. 30 min after the procedure, I was updated on the status. 30 min later, I was in the recovery room with my son. In general, I am big on customer service...from hotels, to vehicle purchases, to restaurants. I have to say that we received a 5-star treatment from this team and confident that you will, too! My 5 year old had to have dental work done under anesthesia, so we were referred by our insurance provider to Dr. Alikhani at MobiSurg. Once we got there, the process was very smooth. Dr. Alikhani met with us and our son prior to him being taken back, so he could explain to my son in such a way that a young child could understand. He was very professional and so sweet at the same time, making sure my son felt comfortable and that we understood the process. The staff was all very kind and professional. I have high expectations for customer service in general, so I know good staff when I see them. The *only* thing I could say that I could see improvement being made there was the waiting area. Being anxious and trying to keep my mind busy, there wasn't anything playing on the TV but a screensaver and the music wasn't very upbeat. It's a small area so if there's other patients waiting, you're a bit on top of each other. Either way, I'd definitely still go back. Dr. Alikhani and staff are awesome! read more

The staff is absolutely the best and the most caring, thoughtful, professional and understanding of any doctor's office or hospital setting I have ever been in. My son just turned 2 this month and was scheduled to have an outpatient procedure done at Dr Metz Pediatric Dermatology Clinic (also another 5 star place!). When I first met with dr Metz, she gave me Dr Alikhani's MobiSurg pamphlet and assured me he was amazing. After reading through it, I felt confident that this was going to be a piece of cake and my son would be in great hands. The days leading up to my procedure, a family member filled my head with doubt based off what she heard on the news. Of course I started doubting the whole procedure and went to great lengths to research pediatric anesthesia, the risks of it, and so forth. I also spoke with 5 other doctors (some were anesthesiologists) about the procedural risks. I left Dr Alikhani a message which he returned within a few business days. When I spoke with him on the phone, I couldn't believe how amazing Dr Alikhani was. He really took the time to listen to all of my questions and concerns without once (a) rushing me, (b) downplaying my fears, (c) being condescending or dismissive whatsoever. Instead, he was incredibly compassionate, and really took the time to fully understand what it was I was concerned about. He then explained what he needed to, and it was very evident that his priority was not to gain me as a client, but to ensure that my child was getting the best of care. Therefore, he had me schedule a pre-operative visit a few days before the procedure so that he can lay eyes on my son and so that he could honestly tell me if my son had any potential risk factors that would make it better for us to get this procedure done inside a children's hospital instead of at an outpatient clinic with MobiSurg. He was amazing with my 2 year old and after meeting him, I was certain that we would go ahead with the procedure. That, however, didn't make me any less nervous the night before/the morning of. I was pacing non stop, filled with worried, but then I got another phone call the night before from Dr Alikhani's cell to go over the procedure again and to ask me if I had any other questions or concerns. Even this morning, the minute we walked into the clinic, we were greeted by Dr Metz and Dr Alikhani and their staff and the whole initial process was just as smooth and calming as can be. He was, again, so great with my son! My husband carried my son in to hold him during the anesthesia (I'm pregnant so I wasn't allowed to do so), and within a minute my husband walked out! He said everything went quickly and just as Dr Alikhani explained. The procedure was over in 20 minutes, and Dr Alikhani's staff took us to the recovery room. A couple of minutes later, Dr Alikhani came and placed my snoring son into my husband's arms. They hooked him up to a monitor and we waited about 20 minutes for our boy to wake up. My son was disoriented. He looked a little loopy, looked around the room, started pushing against my husband as he began to whine. He did cry a little bit, but it wasn't anything too bad! He was able to wave bye to the doctors and blow them a kiss as my husband was wheeled out with my son in his arms. On the drive home, we did have plastic bags ready just in case he threw up (which he didn't). He was fussy, but nothing a little iPad couldn't fix. We got home and noticed that he was definitely wobbly, so one of us stayed right next to him as he played with his toys. I also saw him press against his eyes a little bit, but i was warned that there may be a chance he may have blurry or double vision initially. Again, it appeared to be very fleeting. 30 minutes later we gave him liquids and waited to see if he tolerated it. 30 minutes after that we gave him soft foods (apple sauce and a little bit of ice cream). Within a couple of hours, he was back to his normal self (though we continued to stay on him for the entire day). We ended this long emotional day with Dr Alikhani calling me once again from his cell to see how my son was. I honestly can not emphasize enough how much I appreciate the great lengths Dr Alikhani PERSONALLY took to help put ALL my worries at ease. I absolutely would recommend him to anyone who is needing a pediatric anesthesiologist! read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Alikhani and his staff here at Mobisurg! I was a bundle of nerves knowing my 4 year-old daughter had to go under anesthesia. Since she has a complex medical history as a 26 week preemie, I did not want anything bad to happen. He reassured me that he not only dealt with prior patients with similar backgrounds, but sometimes even more complex patients. He was confident about what needed to be done (3 fillings, 1 crown) and that I need not worry. I think what really sold me was that he has such a wonderful background (decades of experience with pediatric anesthesiology, along with being one of the leaders for CHOC) and I asked him why he started Mobisurg. He said it was a passion project. He could've been making more money somewhere else, but he started this as his own personal endeavor to help families like mine, who were struggling financially but had children with complex needs. We were also given the option to do this OR dental surgery at CHOC, and he said they would do a great job there too. The decision was up to me. It was a hard decision because if I had done it at CHOC, we would be years in debt paying off thousands more dollars! The more I spoke with Dr. Alikhani, I could see why I was referred to him. We are so thankful that Mobisurg was an option for my family. I am thankful for how compassionate and kind he was. Joy was great to work with over the phone as well. I also talked to two of the male staff members who had children similar ages and they said they would trust the doctor with their own kids as well. One male nurse said his son was also a preemie so that stood out to me. Someone mentioned it below but even though I was warned my daughter would act weird when she woke up because of the anesthesia, there is something especially heartbreaking about actually witnessing the change. I cried when she fell asleep in my arms and when they carried her out, my heart could barely take seeing her limp and I kept making sure she was breathing as we waited for her to wake up on her own. They were monitoring her vitals. When she woke up after thirty minutes of being with me, she was startled and confused. She was groggy most of the day. This was the hardest part, seeing her before and after the actual surgery. Joy was kind enough to keep giving me updates throughout the time I was waiting. I am so thankful for Mobisurg.
