My daughter recently received care from Mobisurg and it was such a wonderful experience. This was our first time at Mobisurg, but not my daughter's first time going under general anesthesia. From the moment we checked in, it was already a positive experience. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The staff and doctors explained every single step so thoroughly and made the pre-procedure process interactive for my little one that she didn't show any signs of fear or nervousness. MobiSurg truly is an amazing place to bring your kiddos with special needs for their dental procedures. My son with autism needed to be sedated to have his teeth checked and cleaned. The idea of sedation made me a little anxious because anything can go wrong but I have to say Dr Cashin my son's anesthesiologist put my worries at ease. He personally called before and after procedure. He explained the whole process and successfully brought my baby safe and sound with cleaner teeth! Everyone I dealt with, from the front office staff to the doctors and nurses were amazing, explaining the procedure and checking various times to make sure we were comfortable. Dr. Jeff is awesome, he called the night before to walk me through the process and answer all of my questions. He was incredibly patient with my daughter and explained everything to her in a way that kept her at ease. During the recovery time we had a nurse with us the entire time, walking us through the wake up process so that we knew what to expect. This review is long overdue. I was referred by my daughter's pediatric dentist as MobiSurg is the contracted office for in-office anesthesia. It was a tough decision to go through with the dental surgery and then decide if Dr. Shar or a Children's Hospital anesthesiologist would be best for my family. I decide on Dr. Shar Alikhani's office for many reasons. 1)Dr. Shar has an extensive pediatric background, serving as the chief anesthesiologist at a children's hospital 2) His staff helped me understand every step of the process to ensure my daughter's safety 3) the mobility of his clinic made the trip more convenient in terms of distance from home 4) Dr Shar's personality when speaking to him and meeting him in person and 5) Dr. Shar is great with children. I trusted him and I have pretty bad trust issues. His staff was so good about answering ALL my laundry list of questions. Everything went great the day of the surgery. I only wish forms were available to fill out online prior to the day of surgery. It was hard to use the touch screen to fill out the forms day of- slow, even with the help of staff. Dr. Shar and the pediatric dentist greeted me, took my daughter's weight, reviewed medical history, reviewed what to expect post surgery, and answered any last minute questions. They used play to show/teach my daughter what to expect. They demo'd how to breathe in the mask they were going to use. I was taken back where I held my daughter in my lap while she inhaled the air from mask before drifting off and then taken the the chair. This was SO hard for me but I knew it was for the best. Dr. Shar made sure my daughter was breathing safely and that her vitals were stable during the surgery. We were escorted back to the waiting area where I cried some more, and waited for what was the longest hour in my life. The surgery from start to finish was about an hour. We were called back and she was brought back to me in the recovery room where we waited for her to wake up. She woke up crying, groggy, just as Dr. Shar had predicted she would. Once home instructions were reviewed and vitals rechecked, we were allowed to go home. I carried her out and we were wheelchaired to the car. They made sure we had her strapped in her car seat before the staff left. The drive home was hard- she screamed the whole way home, until I was able to nurse her to sleep. When she woke up she was in a lot better mood and was able to play, eat popsicles, eat a little and drink. It was a tough experience having to go through this with my two year old, but I honestly could not have done it without Dr. Shar, his staff and the staff at Carlsbad Children's Dentistry. If you're reading this and hesitating, don't. You're in good hands with Dr. Shar and his team. read more

I was very nervous about having my son (age 5) sedated at the dentist office, but he needed quite a bit of work and I didn't want to traumatize him with several dentist visits. Dr Alikhani and his team did a fantastic job from start to finish, they let me know exactly what to expect and answered all of my questions. If I could give 10 stars, I would! My husband and I found ourselves in the scary position of having to put our 3 1/2 year old daughter under general anesthesia for dental work. We saw five different dentists for five different opinions and I'm soooo thankful that multiple roads led me here. Dr. Shar and the MobiSurg team are excellent. They have it down to a perfect science but they are never short on showing care and personal attention for the patient and the parent! I was also thankful to be in a small facility where my daughter was the only one being worked on and I was the only one in the waiting room (except when they came to check on me or tell me how she was doing, which they frequently did). Having told that my 5-year-old daughter had 4 cavities and needed major dental work done could be a nightmare for any parents. We were one of the few parents that shared the same dilemma on whether to put our child under anesthesia. MobiSurg is one of the surgery centers used by Irvine Kid's Dentist and we decided to go ahead because we didn't want to traumatize our daughter. On the day of the surgery, she was one of the earliest patients to be treated at the facility. We were greeted promptly as soon as we arrived then followed by paper work. We were told she had a total of 6 cavities on the day of the treatment so the repair work would be more extensive than initially anticipated. I was contacted a couple days prior to the surgery day, Joy did an excellent job walked me through the whole process so I was prepared. Dr Shar also called the day off to inform us that no food prior to the surgery. We were told again before the procedure again what to expect after the procedure. The whole process of putting our daughter to sleep was seamless. The staff at MobiSurg were very professional and kept us informed with the progress of our daughter. I think I was actually more nervous than my daughter as I kept asking to use the restroom. I really appreciated that they kept the curtain on so I wouldn't be seeing my daughter all connected with tubes. The procedure was very successful. We just weren't prepared by the reaction of our daughter waking up from the anesthesia. I was more confused as she was much more aggressive and stronger trying to pry herself away from me holding her. Not to mentioned, seeing her body jolted as she slowly waking up was heartbreaking and the whole time I was trying to make sure she doesn't kick the handle on the chair to hurt herself and not to drop her. My husband had wish that we could stay for a bit longer to ensure our daughter was more alert as we felt that we were quickly ushered out of the facility even though we were informed that we would be there for 30 minutes. The subsequent 15 minute drive home from the facility seemed eternal when my daughter was screaming, kicking, crying and begging for water the whole time. Once we were safely home, we gave her water and she did her drunken screaming but eventually fell asleep for another 1.5 hours. After that, she was fine but extremely thirsty. My daughter's appetite returned right away. She wanted miso soup with tofu and rice and she ate like 2 servings of it. She had no recollection of the whole ordeal, in fact she asked where's the doctor with magic carpet. Dr Shar called in the evening for post-op follow up to explain that her behavior was a result of her being disoriented much like a drunken person. I think perhaps mention this to other parents might better prepare them a bit. As a parent that just went through the ordeal, I want to inform other parents that unexplained behavior can be heartbreaking and makes you feel helpless. Every kid is different so there's no definite explanation of how your kid will or should behave before or after anesthesia. All you can do as a parent is just be there and be patience as your kid will eventually come around be the sweet angel again. read more

I highly recommend MobiSurg for all Peds dental work. My daughter had to be sedated for a total of 12 crowns and a baby root canal. All staff members were very friendly and they were on top of things from beginning to end. Dr. Christine Kim did an amazing job.
