The self ordering kiosk is nice if you aren't feeling the need to socially interact, but you can also order at the counter. We usually come later in the day and I think the owner is behind the counter. Nice guy and friendly. The cream puffs are really my personal favorites. Not trying to sound like the stereotypical Asian, but it is because I find them less sweet. They are soft and the filling inside is my favorite. Cute little spot in the Kemps River shopping center in Virginia Beach. Mochi donut places are popping up every where and I haven't yet tried one, so I decided to try one while running an errand. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the team, and you are able to order in person, or by kiosk. I did the kiosk and it was pretty easy to place my order. I got my donut pretty much instantly after placing my order, and my drink very soon afterward. They send you a text notification that your items are ready too (although my tea notification was received an hour I got it lol). Otherwise a nice place that I'd like to visit again. read more

We went to the international store across the street and they had a sign saying if you brought your receipt over here, you'd be able to get a free mochi donut, so we did. I like their decor and the giant wall painted like a moon. The description says space themed but besides the decor, there's nothing space themed within the menu. We go up to order and get our mochi donut. We also got a cream puff, a half and half hot Cheeto Korean corn dog and a taro milk tea. The cream puff was my absolute favorite item. It gave me creme brulee filling vibes with a corn flake kind of crunchy topping. The mochi donut was fresh but I felt the flavor wasn't very prominent. The Korean corn dog was okay. If I got it again, I'd strictly do cheese as I didn't enjoy the type of meat they use. I did not like the bubble tea at all. My kiddo loves taro, and I said I'd help her drink it. It had thick chunks of actual taro in there, and being a texture person, it was very off putting. We didn't make a dent in the drink at all, pretty disappointing as we all know boba isn't cheap. They are completely different than the regular yeast and cake batter donuts that are typically served at places like Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. Mochi is a Japanese dessert made with glutinous rice flour (sorry gluten free peeps!). The rice flour gives the donuts an extremely soft and chewy texture. I love this little bakery because they seem to always have rotating flavors which are made fresh throughout the day. they also do not have hours long lines like their competitors. Overall, this is pretty comparable to the other mochi donut cafes in the area, sans the long lines. I'm a huge fan of their flavor rotations (mango, lychee, taro, etc) and their boba is great as well! Their attention to detail in packing is so cute. As someone who enjoys mochi donuts over regular donuts, I couldn't help but stop in to Mochi Donut & Tea while in the area. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the lady was very nice. She asked if I'd had mochi donuts before and shared with me the flavors of the donuts along with the other items they offer. After looking over all of the flavors of the donuts, I decided I should get a half dozen to try. I hate that they didn't have the donuts labeled because I found myself asking which donuts were which several times. I eventually decided on the Chocolate, Vanilla, Churro, Ube, Matcha, and Strawberry (I believe that's what they were lol). I also ordered the Passion Fruit Tea w/Mango Boba. The donuts were really good, my favorite was the Strawberry. The Passion Fruit Tea was okay, I wasn't a fan of the crunchy seeds that were in it. This place was a miss for me. The only item I truly enjoyed was the cream puff. If I were to return, it would be specifically for that. It has a crisp flaky, buttery outer layer but soft once you take a bite. The cream puff was oozing with creaminess and is a fairly large size (good for sharing). There was an inconsistency with the information provided to me on the available cream puff flavors. My friends had also ordered cream puffs as well, but when I asked about the cream puff flavors I was informed there was only one option. Whereas, my friend was provided with an option of regular or mango. In addition. I ordered two single mochi donuts. The manner in which the mochi donuts were labeled wasn't as clear cut to me. Across the top written on the display case glass were several flavors, which appeared to refer to the column of mochi donuts below said labels, ex lychee, strawberry, chocolate, green tea, mango. However they didn't quite line up and some had the same icing but different, random toppings. The mochi donuts' presentation doesn't seem as polished or cohesive. The adornments or toppings aren't as visually appealing, with the exception of the green tea and chocolate ones with marshmallow toppings. The choice of toppings seem random, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams or Kitkat cereal on top, makes it appear a bit hodge podge. Maybe it's the color combinations or it comes off busy with too many toppings. (Clearly it's a preference & I'm being overly particular). The taste of their mochi donuts wasn't flavorsome & like my friend says, it wasn't fresh. Compared to the other Mochi donut place, these are more dense and the chocolate covered toppings tend to be stiff and crack all over the place when you take a bite. Not a huge deal breaker for some, but food texture makes a difference to me. Ordering can be done via the one kiosk or at the counter. I ordered at the counter with my choice of two donuts, a creme puff and a mango cheese foam drink. A receipt with my order number was provided. They don't hand you the mochi donuts when you place the order even though they are available in the case. My order was given piecemeal versus all the pastry items at one time. My friend received her order in a bag and I had to ask for one. My friends who ordered via the kiosk mentioned there was no option to choose your mochi donut flavor, just the quantity to be purchased. One friend was able to choose their flavors while my other friend was not offered a choice and given a random mochi donut that wasn't of his choice. The ordering process didn't feel fluid, but disjointed. If you're looking to check this place out, maybe wait until they're more settled and have worked out the kinks. For those who do not like chocolate, this particular day was not a good day to go. My friend didn't have any mochi donut options. All the flavors that day had some form of chocolate on them. A suggestion would be to have chocolate options and at least one or two non chocolate options with non chocolate toppings to cover those potential customers. The donuts are $2.75 each. It came to $7.07 for two. Which seems a little high, but I guess that's about average nowadays. The decor is very classy and modern. Very pleasing to look at. There's a kiosk you order at inside. I'm not sure if the one I saw is it, but if so they'll absolutely need more than one. There were several people inside waiting. It was about a 5 minute wait, then they called me to choose my flavors. You just choose mochi donuts at the kiosk then you tell them what you want at the counter. I got the mango and chocolate donuts. It was my first time trying mochi donuts, so I didn't know what to expect. But these donuts were tasty. Their crispy, chewy, and soft at the same time. The mochi donuts place near Aldi is insane, you have to wait several hours for your order. So when a new mochi donuts place opened, I was super excited!! The set up is a bit confusing and although there are quite a few people working, none of them were super helpful? I extremely dislike chocolate, I know, I'm weird, but I don't care for chocolate. I was able to get the attention of one of the workers and asked if I could get a donut without chocolate. She said that she didn't know and she didn't think it was possible. So I went to the kiosk and ordered a regular donut and a cream puff. Picking up your order is a mess because they gently whisper out order numbers to an extremely loud lobby area. (No one could hear them calling out orders.) They never called my order so I had to go up there and just take whatever donut I could get. I also finally got my cream puff after a reminder... Decided to check this new spot out today to report back to my fellow foodies. I received a free doughnut for their grand opening and also decided to try a drink and a Korean corn dog. The interior was interesting to look at with the walls being craters of the moon which was pretty cool. For my doughnut I chose the chocolate dipped one which had sprinkles and Oreo pieces on top. I also ordered the passionfruit fruit tea as well as a potato Korean corn dog. The corn dog was $6.75 and the drink was $6.95 so definitely a bit on the pricer side. The drink came in a standard large size which makes sense and had fresh passionfruit inside. I think it tasted great with a good amount of sweetness. If you're not a fan of crunchy seeds I'd steer away but if you're fine with that definitely try it out! The potato Korean corn dog was crispy and served with a choice of dipping sauce. I wish you could taste the potato on the outside but it was all crunch. Overall it was good and had a phenomenal cheese pull but a bit small for the price. Finally made the time to check this place out. I ordered the lemon pie and caramel latte while my friend ordered the ube mochi donuts. I have to say I love them. The chewy texture and not too sweet flavor was really right up on my alley. I never liked the typical American desserts that's too sweet like they just dump a whole truck of sugar in it so these were really refreshing. I also got 4 cream puff to go. They were huge and filled with custard filling that's also have just the right amount of sweetness. My friend bought 1 for her husband and they went back a few days later to get more. I've been waiting for this business to open for a while. Finally made it for their grand opening and snagged a free donut! I was happy to see no long lines and to find they had a dedicated screen set up in store for ordering as an extra option to the cashier, if it ever got busy! I also noticed their online ordering is already up, so you can order ahead of time on your phone. Kudos to them for their excellent preparation for their grand opening. The ambiance is a little confusing to me. One section of the store is an area with flower plants hung on the walls, tables adorned with flowers, string lights, and greenery hanging from the ceiling. And then the other part of the store is space themed, with a grey wall mimicking moon craters and some small space guy figurines on the wall. It's not very cohesive, but I find it truly unique! The green tea mochi donut I had tasted similar to other mochi donuts I've had in the past. It had the right chewiness and slightly dense texture, with just the right amount of sweetness! I also had a Mango Pomelo Fruit Tea with boba. It was a bit expensive ($8.59 with tax), but that price is unfortunately the standard here now. Unfortunately, they ran out of boba, so I settled for some mango jelly. I don't blame them, most grand openings for boba shops I've been to have run out of boba too! I was surprised when I received the drink because when I hear "fruit tea", I typically think of an actual tea with ice and fruit. However, the drink was blended. Although it wasn't what I expected, I really enjoyed it! It tasted like a mango slushie, with a genuine mango flavor that did not come across as artificial at all. There were yummy fruit chunks/bits of mango and pomelo in the drink too! The texture was a little icy and probably could've been blended more throughly, but it was still enjoyable overall. Love this!! A booming dessert place in a growing area. Some people call it little Manila where it's surrounded by many Asian owned bakeries, grocery stores, etc.... It appeared to be a traditional choux au craquelin; the cream puff itself was a light, airy choux, paired with the cookie topping that gives it a crispy, crackled, almost brûlée textured shell before biting into the soft pastry and vanilla cream filling. We came 30 min before closing, thankfully it is business as usual with out the crowd. So we were able to ask "first time here" questions. First of all everything is neat, clean and picture perfect. We were hungry so we ordered a lot, thankfully she explained that those cream puffs we so covered are large size, hence a box of four is $20. Gasp! Then the four of us ordered different flavored teas. We also ordered cute donuts $2.85 each. So let me tell you. The cream puffs are so creamy. The flaky crumbs outside of cream puff reminds me of cooked powdered sweetened rice, it is chewy and sweet and flavorful. The mango flavor is very flavorful and custard inside is not overly sweet. The ube flavor is also very tasty and creamy and not too sweet. Now the drinks are just perfectly done as what flavor we ordered. My fave taro milk tea with nata with less sugar is perfect. I love the taste of mango pomelo fruit tea too and the matcha is perfect flavor. Let's talk about these well presented adorable donuts. Was across the parking lot at the soft opening of Enson Market, so my daughter and I decided to go and try the mochi donuts and Boba tea. Loved the decor inside their quaint spot near Heaven and Earth and Tasty Korean BBQ. The out of this world space theme was cute. The workers were very helpful in giving suggestions and showing us what the flavors were because their display was sold out of donuts! But they make it right there very quickly, and they come out hot. Couldn't give it 5 stars because we have had better Boba in town, although the cup it came in with the cat ears is a keeper! One of the better mochi donuts in town. They do have options like strawberry mochi donut. I personally like their flavors. They taste like what they say they are, instead of just sugary flavors. I love their cream puffs though. It's a big cream puff and somewhat pricey but it's so good. I love their mango cream puff and the fresh taro cream puff. Easily the best cream puff I've had in my life. The puff is more on to mochi-esque profile than flaky kind. Another star is their Osmanthus Milk Tea with boba. It's a very special flavor made with real osmanthus flower. I'm picky about boba texture but theirs is of the better kind, soft, chewy, and not too sweet. Then when you get to the counter they didn't even say anything as well, didn't greet you, didn't ask if you're interested in trying anything, not even anything about their products, nothing! Cool cool, half of my order wasn't what I ordered but whatever. Gave them the benefit of the doubt because they are new. 2 months later stopped by again to give another chance. Couldn't order because the order machine was down, that's fine but the server was telling us what to click and how to fix it. Girl I don't get paid to do that shi like get over here and fix it. Got it up, got our donuts but WAITED 40 MINS FOR A CREAM PUFF AND CORNDOG. Everyone else who ordered after us got their cream puffs and corn dogs. WE WERE THE FIRST PEOPLE THERE. So I told the server that we never got ours, sat back down and waited. Right after I KID YOU NOT SHE GAVE OUT THE CREAM PUFFS TO THE OTHER CUSTOMER THAT HAD JUST GOT THERE. Two of the boys got a Korean corn dog: one got the hot Cheeto with mozzarella and dog and the other got plain w both inside. Both thought they were the best corn dog they ever ate. They are a good size and looked delicious. We all got a mochi donut. I got a lemon one and it was decent, the frosting tasted a little rubbery to me. My lil guy got the cookies and cream and loved it. My older son got the marshmallow donut and enjoyed it very much. We ordered from the kiosk which was quick and efficient. The staff was kind when handing us our food. We loved the moon on the wall w the little 3D astronauts climbing all over it. They have a few tables and a comfortable couch area to sit and wait for orders which we did.
