The dessert here is not bad! It's just quite average - they don't really specialize/focus in one dessert it's more of a variety dessert shop so good if u want multiple things (they have mochi, shaved snow, ice cream, cakes). We ordered the red bean shaved snow. Snow texture a bit dry with a very faint red bean flavor, although serving size is huge!! Medium definitely can be shared between three people. Ube lava cake is quite small - it was yummy and moist! Multiple tables available for seating. Overall a casual vibe. Service was good and close to a lot of restaurants so easy place to stop by after for desert! Parking also very convenient.

the perfect dessert spot to share with friends. we got the Mango Snow medium bowl for 4 and it was definitely enough... somehow still gone in 5 minutes because it was THAT good ) look at that mango chunks and mochi balls they also have gelato, boba, taiyaki, mochi ice cream, cream puffs, and matcha drinks so there's literally something for everyone

This is such a cute little cafe right in the heart of Irvine. They've got SO many flavors of mochi, gelato that's made in-house, and even Beard Papa's cream puffs! I saw that there was a Dubai chocolate cream puff but didn't get it this time but will have to come back for it. Their matcha drinks are surprisingly really good, we got the double matcha and yuzu matcha tonic, and a strawberry matcha milk snow to share. But OMG this is like blind box heaven. They have so many kinds of Sonny Angels and Smiskis, it was so hard to choose one for my first one! Thanks for reading! ^-^

The matcha shaved snow was very tasty. I also got a build-your-own cream puff: original shell with matcha filling, delectable. They don't skimp on the filling, every bite was a delicious oozy mess. Love this place for a coffee + dessert pit stop.

Delicious dessert cafe at Heritage Plaza. Lots of cream, lots of matcha, and lots of Ube. It's right next to Daiso with indoor and outdoor seating. We needed some mochi ice cream, and they have many really good flavors. I'm sure you've seen the boxed ones at the grocery store with the limited 4 flavors, but once you've had freshly made mochi ice cream in a dozen different flavors, you won't go back to the store bought brands. My favorites are the Mango, Strawberry, and anything with coconut. My man's favorite are the Passion Fruit and Black Sesame. Today I got the chocolate coconut cream one, and I didn't taste coconut, just chocolate, which was just fine with me. The Red Bean one though didn't taste at all like red bean. It actually tasted like strawberry. We even asked for another, and it was the same. It was really good and lightly sweet, but not the taste we were expecting. In any case they are all gooooood!

This place shares with Papa Beard. We were in the area and wanna give this place a try to fulfill my crave. The portion is quite 'big' for a small portion. We also ordered Taiyaki (which unfortunately no pic taken). All tasted decent to us, same as another shaved ice place. The stand out factor is the decor which considered quite cozy. Service was straight forward, order when we came and we got called by our receipt number.

Great little spot I found when checking out Mitsuwa and Daiso. Had some time and I love checking out local coffee shops. Employees were very nice and took time to talk to you. Coffee was solid. I went with the Carmel latte. The inside was so kid friendly. Lots of knick knacks for the kids to check out.

Came here for a pallet cleanser dessert after having dinner in the same center on a Saturday night. It was busy inside filled with people hanging out, enjoying their dessert and staying a while. We got the house shaved ice to share and it was just enough for the three of us who were already full from dinner, but we wanted something slightly sweet. The fresh fruit made it more appealing and less guilty for us to enjoy. The shaved ice was not overly sweet, which is the way we like it. Looking forward to the next visit to try other items on their menu.

Not very much mochi in each one. Just a bunch of liquid stuff.

The mochi flavors are good but they put some sort of liquid cream inside of each one. Too sweet and there's only a very thin layer of mochi as a result.:(

Workers were rude. When I went up to the counter she said "what do you want?" Very short and rude. I asked her for one of the cream puffs and she said "we don't serve those after 8:30" it was just a few minutes after 8:30. I said okay, went back to our group at our table. Right at 9pm another one of the workers came to our table and said "SORRY, WERE CLOSED NOW" which is fine. We respect closing time, but there was a much nicer way to say it to customers. One of the other girls in our group asked for a sample and the worker said they don't give them out for gelato. So she asked what the flavor tasted like, the worker responded saying that she's never tried any of the ice creams so she couldn't help her. She was also very rude when helping her out as well. The same worker was rude to both me and my friend. Would not recommend coming here. Will most likely not be coming back.

Did they change their name? I remember they were called something else like mochilato ? They still serve food in here like they used to back in the day

They did change their name. I believe the business changed hands a few times, but the food is still the same here. They've added Beard Papa and Dippin Dots (pouch form) as well as other dessert options like cheesecake.

Are there dairy free ice cream options?

Just called and was told all their shaved ice contains dairy.

I was slightly surprised that the price is close to $7 for a single scoop of ice cream on a cone, I guess I'm used to those days when ice cream used to be a dollar, but what I did appreciate was that they offered to put it in a cup for us because the portion they give is so generous that it doesn't fit on a cone. I actually wanted something a little healthier when I went so I chose the no sugar added pistachio, which was so good so creamy so delicious and full of pistachio nuts. I'm aware that there are other options nearby such as Dairy Queen at less than half the price of this, but if I had to choose again, I might still come back to Handel's because the single scoop could almost be enough for two people. We went with a few other families and none of the kids could actually finish their ice cream cone, which is actually good because that means you can share. The shop is especially good if you're planning to watch a movie at the Regal Cinema just next door.

The service was good and really quick, and the place is super chill. The menu of the ice cream place is also very extensive, so you can get a multitude of interesting flavors! I got the s'mores one and it was super delicious, with a graham cracker base, chocolate chips and gooey marshmallows. It was also super creamy and flavorful! The blueberry cobbler one is rich with that blueberry flavor, kind of like a blueberry pie. And the strawberry sorbet was not too sweet and refreshing and it's dairy-free. If you're looking for a sweet treat and don't mind having more than one scoop, go to Handel's!

We walked into a small but welcoming space with a clean interior and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to stop by for a quick dessert. The setup is straightforward, with a display case full of colors and textures that immediately signal this is not your average scoop shop. The ice cream flavors are where Wanderlust really shines. Many of the options are inspired by Asian and global desserts, bringing in ingredients and combinations that are not commonly found at traditional ice cream shops. The ube flavors are a highlight, with the ube malted crunch balancing sweetness and texture in a way that keeps each bite interesting. Other standout flavors include mango sticky rice and pandan tres leches, both of which capture the original dessert inspirations while still working well as ice cream. The mango sticky rice version has a subtle coconut note and actual sticky rice pieces, giving it a chewy contrast that feels true to the dish it is based on. The pandan tres leches is creamy and fragrant without being overly sweet, and the pandan flavor comes through clearly. One of the best parts of visiting is being able to sample different flavors before deciding. Since the menu changes and rotates with new creations, there is always something new to try. We found that getting multiple smaller scoops was a good way to experience more of the menu without committing to just one flavor, especially when the options are this unique. The staff were friendly and helpful when explaining flavors, which made trying the more unusual combinations less intimidating. They knew the ingredients and inspirations behind each flavor and were happy to walk us through the lineup. The shop is smaller, so seating can be limited during busy times, but it works well as a dessert stop rather than a place to spend a long afternoon. The focus stays on the ice cream itself, and the quick turnover keeps the experience moving. The quality of the ingredients is noticeable across the board, with each flavor having a clean, distinct taste that does not rely on excessive sweetness to carry it. Wanderlust Creamery is a great choice if you want ice cream that feels creative and different from the standard options. The unique flavors, quality ingredients, and rotating menu make it the kind of place that rewards repeat visits, especially if you enjoy desserts inspired by different cultures. It delivers on the promise of a thoughtful, well executed scoop that feels both familiar and adventurous at the same time.

A lot of people were standing along the walls eating, which personally isn't my favorite. My partner and I ended up taking our ice cream back to the car so we could sit and enjoy it comfortably.
