Passed by this place fifty times making the left turn out of Home Depot back to Canton. I was starving the other week and saw 'to-go' in the window and something else on their sign that implied 'fast food' so I stopped in. This is not your upscale place... There are 5 entree items on the menu, #1-4 being variations of chicken/beef/shrimp teriyaki with vegetables. I went for the gusto and got chicken AND beef combination. There are also a lot of photos with food on the wall - helpful to me and I was so relieved that my sushi looked just like the photo. I ordered California roll, 3 pieces of mochi, and the above mentioned entree, and sat down to wait. And wait. And wait. At least 25 minutes later, my food was ready. The place was very steadily busy, and this was a random Tuesday night, so that was a good sign. When I got home I realized why this place was so busy. Worth the wait! Some of the best California roll I've had in the area - they chop up the imitation crab and mix it with seasoning. The rice was fresh. The teriyaki entree was a generous portion of fried rice, sparse vegetables, and generous meat. We had a lot of delicious, greasy leftovers. Super worth the wait - maybe I'll call in advance of showing up next time like a few of the local regulars seemed to have done while I was there. A total hole in the wall but I'm reviewing for the head cook and the food. There's no service component because this is namely a takeout place. Not a restaurant with full service. The lunch specials are AMAZING. They use both light and dark meat chicken and it is velvet soft and seemingly melts in your mouth. All the workers are Chinese so don't be surprised that their food tastes a bit on the Chinese food side, but their sushi rolls are actually quite delicious, as well as their miso soup. The teriyaki lunch specials, however, are amazing. Less than $6 or $7 will get you about 2 meals worth of delicious cooked veggies (mostly cabbage and carrots/broccoli) and a teriyaki meat of your choice. I adore their chicken for the quality of meat. The beef has been overlooked the last few times and is least tasty. Shrimp is also a great choice. They have fried tofu as an option for veggie lovers out there. Lunches come with a side of soup, egg roll or soda. Yum! I would definitely recommend delivery or take out from here. Rarely too long of a line, but you'll never be the only one ordering. It has a pretty regular and steady base of customers quickly dining in a booth or getting food to go. Enjoy! read more

Conveniently down the street from home depot. Mochi Teriyaki is your typical asian fast food restaurant. I had the chicken and shrimp teriyaki lunch special, that came with pipping hot miso soup. The food tasted exactly as one would expect for a well done Americanized asian rice dish. It was flavorful. The portions are huge, both from a meat and vegetable standpoint. When I took the food out of the bag, it looked like my food went through a war in the containers and the hot food was ice cold. I recently ordered sushi takeout from this restaurant. I should have known better than to order sushi from a primarily Chinese restaurant. I ordered shumai and four roles- Avocado, philly, crunchy spicy salmon, and a spicy tuna tempura. The sushi also came with miso soup. When I got my food, my miso soup was still super hot- surprising considering I waited an hour and half for my food. The shumai was fine- pretty good. The spicy salmon was pretty good but had a slightly concerning color that hinted it wasn't that fresh. The tuna tempura was also pretty good. However the avocado roll had no taste whatsoever- even for it just being avocado, nor did it taste fresh. The Philly roll was the worst I've ever had. It tasted like it had been made the night before and sat out all night- the furthest thing from fresh. I didn't finish it because I was afraid it was spoiled. The reason I gave any stars at all was because I called the place to see where my food was, and the guy who answered was polite and apologized and explained they were busy. But even so, the majority of the sushi did not taste fresh at all, and the whole order cost about $40. Not worth it. read more

I love the salmon teriyaki!! It is incredible. It's a rather nice size piece of salmon and they give you a generous portion of rice and veges too! I can't eat it all at once. I stop by every time I hit the Shoppers grocery close by. The yum yum sauce is out of this world!! I always get extra yum yum sauce with my order.......I wish I could describe the yum yum sauce, I can't decide what it's made of. Maybe it's a mayo base with something to make it more creamy and saucy, but it's not as thick as mayo.
