The service is poor. You have to order at a kiosk and the staff aren't friendly. The donuts are premade and don't taste fresh.

Recommend the matcha. Everyone ends up grabbing it exclusively and Im just always like bro I told u to get more get ur own bc this be the best one. Mochi donuts are a relatively consistent type of food wherever you go, and mochinut does hit the spot. The icing over the donuts are kinda sticky and melted all the time and sweeter than normal tho, so I'd say Mochill is a better chain. But presentation is beautiful! Skip black sesame, as you can see from the picture

One star knocked off only because it took an additional 15 minutes for our order after I was texted that it was ready. The setup is a mobile kiosk that you order from. Enter your number and then you just wait for a message that it's ready, except in my case, it was not. I wasn't prepared for this spot as my husband pulled up in front as a dessert option after we had dinner. I chose a 6-piece donut selection and clicked off each option that was presented, as I didn't have the brain capacity to think about it. For the kids, I ordered a Hot Cheeto Classic corn dog and an original classic corn dog. I was full but I had to try these infamous Korean corn dogs. Damn, on the first bite, I was in heaven. I was more impressed with the corn dogs than the mochi donuts. The mochi donuts weren't as flavorful nor was the doughnut "mochi-like." Maybe it was because we got there with 45 minutes to spare and they were just trying to catch up with V-day orders. There was one person going in the back and would disappear for a while, so it made me think that it was only her working the place, don't know. I ordered a caffucino but they had to refund me because the machine ran out. I'll definitely come back because the corn dogs were fire and I'm really curious about the soft serve and the boba teas!

Good mochinut! Wish the mochi donuts were gluten-free, so more people could enjoy them. Pass on the boba, it's underwhelming. Can't wait for the soft serve options :)

Cute petite spot to get some sweets and snacks. If you like hot cheetos then it's a must to try the hot cheetos half mozzarella cheese and half hot dog with house special sauce! They have a kiosk for you to order and pay, might be a little wait if you get the corn dogs. Excited for their soft serve options!

So, my rating varies based on the items that I got. The donuts were all excellent and I'd give them a 5/5. they were perfect. Soft, a little chewy, and flavorful. They kind of reminded me of flavorful chewy krispy kreme's. I was not a fan of the Korean Hotdog/cheese sticks. The grease seemed really heavy that they were fried with. I felt like my stomach was coated in grease l. I ended up taking off the fried coating to finish eating. I bought 4 of them with different flavors and ate the equivalent to about 1. They were so greasy, I threw them out. The original with sugar was probably the best

Quick Summary: - Short distance from Berkeley Bowl - Small interior, there is a bar like stand area near the window. Otherwise, there is no space to sit and eat - Nicely textured mochi doughnuts - Ordering was done by the kiosk Trying out a different mochi doughnut store in the Bay Area, and this one is good as well. First impression of the doughnut is that it is light, not greasily fried, so it is easy to eat. I'm happy to say that a mochi doughnut store is located not in San Francisco, and it's also close to one of my favorite grocery stores. After a thorough shopping at Berkeley Bowl, I can head over to the mochi doughnut store to have some nifty dessert

I love this place!!! My daughter took me here and I couldn't wait to try. They have all sorts of desserts and Korean corn dogs are their specialty. If you like hot Cheetos then you have to try the hot Cheeto Korean corn dog. You can get mozzarella cheese or a hot dog in the middle, or both. I liked the donuts, I had the gummy bear and the churro. Both were delicious. I also got the Thai tea, which didn't really taste too good to me that's why the 4 stars. And they don't take cash which is understandable but also can be an inconvenience but anyways this place is a must try !

We came here on a Friday night to get 2 mochi donuts. It is attached to Dessert Story next door and there is a lot of seating inside. My Snackpass didn't update to tell me that my order was finished early. We had hoped the donuts would come out fresh, but they were cold. I got the fruity pebbles mochi donut & it was good, but nothing crazy.

I couldn't resist my craving any longer so I decided to order DoorDash and searched for boba. I also wanted to experience different locations than where I normally ordered. Mochinut in Berkeley popped up. Overly joy and excitement, I ended up ordering four different flavors. Taro was the best in my liking. Thai tea is the second best. Matcha and coffee are so-so. Have to say this far best boba ball I have ever tasted: soft and silky chewing. Overall taste review I will have to give four for drinks. Other items are to be tasted next time.

woooo hooooo! I no longer have to drive to Oakland appease my mochi donut obsession. Mochinut just opened up in South Berkeley near Ashby and Shattuck. They are serving mochi donuts, Korean style hotdogs and boba tea. The selection of donuts seems to be limited at the moment, but still 6 to choose from. I'm hoping they rotate selections on the daily or expand to a full menu with time. I just went with 3 donuts and a Thai tea boba. The ube churro and blueberry wafer were the winners. Soft, chewy and sweet. I love the airiness of mochi donuts. They could have been fresher, but I'm giving them some slack since they just opened. The parking out front is kinda tough being right on Shattuck, but there usually is free parking around the side streets.

Great texture, topped with pork sung and crispy cabbage, plus katsu sauce and Japanese mayo. Savory, crunchy, and satisfying. Sumo Dog: Japanese curry beef chili with cheese and fresh scallions. Hearty, comforting, and perfect for that chilly evening. Fried Foods: We didn't try, any but they serve fries and potstickers too. Tallboy's martini menu is well-executed. While I didn't personally try one of the slushies, a friend ordered the espresso martini version and gave it a solid thumbs-up. Unfortunately, the experience falls apart when it comes to food and service. Waiting 30+ minutes for two hot dogs (after paying) is hard to justify. When I checked in with a server, she was curt and dismissive. She was quick to explain there was only one person in the kitchen, with no effort to offer a solution, timeline, or even basic courtesy. I understand staffing issues happen. However, customer service is a close second to concept. How an issue is communicated and addressed is what separates good service from bad. What's more frustrating is that these aren't customer problems to absorb. If the kitchen is understaffed, if tables aren't being cleared in a timely manner at a seat-yourself spot, those are management problems. Guests should not have to choose to leave without the food we paid for. There's a lot of competition out there, and concepts alone aren't enough to bring people back. I genuinely wanted that hot dog. That's probably the most disappointing part of the whole experience. Great drinks, solid ambiance, but the service needs serious attention.

The lettuce wrap came in two steamed, wilted pieces of iceberg, while the brioche bun was untoasted, foamy-textured and soggy. Both medium burgers had the consistency of boiled meatballs. The bacon jam was decent, but the overall experience was wildly unappetizing. We also both got plain fries, which were somehow greasy and dry at the same time, and instantly turned stale as they cooled down.
