The service is poor. You have to order at a kiosk and the staff aren't friendly. The donuts are premade and don't taste fresh.

Recommend the matcha. Everyone ends up grabbing it exclusively and Im just always like bro I told u to get more get ur own bc this be the best one. Mochi donuts are a relatively consistent type of food wherever you go, and mochinut does hit the spot. The icing over the donuts are kinda sticky and melted all the time and sweeter than normal tho, so I'd say Mochill is a better chain. But presentation is beautiful! Skip black sesame, as you can see from the picture

One star knocked off only because it took an additional 15 minutes for our order after I was texted that it was ready. The setup is a mobile kiosk that you order from. Enter your number and then you just wait for a message that it's ready, except in my case, it was not. I wasn't prepared for this spot as my husband pulled up in front as a dessert option after we had dinner. I chose a 6-piece donut selection and clicked off each option that was presented, as I didn't have the brain capacity to think about it. For the kids, I ordered a Hot Cheeto Classic corn dog and an original classic corn dog. I was full but I had to try these infamous Korean corn dogs. Damn, on the first bite, I was in heaven. I was more impressed with the corn dogs than the mochi donuts. The mochi donuts weren't as flavorful nor was the doughnut "mochi-like." Maybe it was because we got there with 45 minutes to spare and they were just trying to catch up with V-day orders. There was one person going in the back and would disappear for a while, so it made me think that it was only her working the place, don't know. I ordered a caffucino but they had to refund me because the machine ran out. I'll definitely come back because the corn dogs were fire and I'm really curious about the soft serve and the boba teas!

Good mochinut! Wish the mochi donuts were gluten-free, so more people could enjoy them. Pass on the boba, it's underwhelming. Can't wait for the soft serve options :)

Cute petite spot to get some sweets and snacks. If you like hot cheetos then it's a must to try the hot cheetos half mozzarella cheese and half hot dog with house special sauce! They have a kiosk for you to order and pay, might be a little wait if you get the corn dogs. Excited for their soft serve options!

So, my rating varies based on the items that I got. The donuts were all excellent and I'd give them a 5/5. they were perfect. Soft, a little chewy, and flavorful. They kind of reminded me of flavorful chewy krispy kreme's. I was not a fan of the Korean Hotdog/cheese sticks. The grease seemed really heavy that they were fried with. I felt like my stomach was coated in grease l. I ended up taking off the fried coating to finish eating. I bought 4 of them with different flavors and ate the equivalent to about 1. They were so greasy, I threw them out. The original with sugar was probably the best

Quick Summary: - Short distance from Berkeley Bowl - Small interior, there is a bar like stand area near the window. Otherwise, there is no space to sit and eat - Nicely textured mochi doughnuts - Ordering was done by the kiosk Trying out a different mochi doughnut store in the Bay Area, and this one is good as well. First impression of the doughnut is that it is light, not greasily fried, so it is easy to eat. I'm happy to say that a mochi doughnut store is located not in San Francisco, and it's also close to one of my favorite grocery stores. After a thorough shopping at Berkeley Bowl, I can head over to the mochi doughnut store to have some nifty dessert

I love this place!!! My daughter took me here and I couldn't wait to try. They have all sorts of desserts and Korean corn dogs are their specialty. If you like hot Cheetos then you have to try the hot Cheeto Korean corn dog. You can get mozzarella cheese or a hot dog in the middle, or both. I liked the donuts, I had the gummy bear and the churro. Both were delicious. I also got the Thai tea, which didn't really taste too good to me that's why the 4 stars. And they don't take cash which is understandable but also can be an inconvenience but anyways this place is a must try !

We came here on a Friday night to get 2 mochi donuts. It is attached to Dessert Story next door and there is a lot of seating inside. My Snackpass didn't update to tell me that my order was finished early. We had hoped the donuts would come out fresh, but they were cold. I got the fruity pebbles mochi donut & it was good, but nothing crazy.

I couldn't resist my craving any longer so I decided to order DoorDash and searched for boba. I also wanted to experience different locations than where I normally ordered. Mochinut in Berkeley popped up. Overly joy and excitement, I ended up ordering four different flavors. Taro was the best in my liking. Thai tea is the second best. Matcha and coffee are so-so. Have to say this far best boba ball I have ever tasted: soft and silky chewing. Overall taste review I will have to give four for drinks. Other items are to be tasted next time.

woooo hooooo! I no longer have to drive to Oakland appease my mochi donut obsession. Mochinut just opened up in South Berkeley near Ashby and Shattuck. They are serving mochi donuts, Korean style hotdogs and boba tea. The selection of donuts seems to be limited at the moment, but still 6 to choose from. I'm hoping they rotate selections on the daily or expand to a full menu with time. I just went with 3 donuts and a Thai tea boba. The ube churro and blueberry wafer were the winners. Soft, chewy and sweet. I love the airiness of mochi donuts. They could have been fresher, but I'm giving them some slack since they just opened. The parking out front is kinda tough being right on Shattuck, but there usually is free parking around the side streets.

I had a lot of questions and they sweetly answered them before I did my order. You order online or on the screens in the store. Pretty self explanatory and easy. It was barely sweet, 50% is the lowest sweetness you can set for this drink. I was disappointed by this one as I felt the tea and floral flavors could've been stronger, it really just tasted of honey. Large chocoberry bliss, warm, 50 sweet (which was the recommended sweetness): It's a non caffeinated drink and can only be hot or warm. It tastes of dark chocolate with strawberry. It reminded me of hot chocolate but with a strawberry milk flavor, I liked it and would recommend trying it when it's in season if you enjoy sweets and chocolate in particular. Cheese creamer black tea, no ice, 0% sweetness, large cold: The tea is truly bitter when at 0% sweetness, which is what I intended. A generous thick amount of creamer on top. It doesn't mix easily with the tea. Note that on Snackpass, they add another $0.25 onto the price of your drink for "city cup fee" - referring to City of Berkeley's fee charged for plastic drink cups. I have found they're usually pretty fast at making the drinks and they may be done earlier than what Snackpass estimates. Sometimes you may need to get the attention of one of the workers as they can be occupied working and aren't always at the counter looking at you.

I especially appreciate that they have genmaicha, which can be harder to find. Their version has a distinct roasted tea flavor that doesn't taste watered down, which I love. Their strawberry matcha is also delicious, with a fresher, juicier strawberry flavor than a lot of other spots. I would honestly give this location 5 stars based on the drinks and regular barista interactions alone, but my last experience was really off-putting. I noticed that people often study there with laptops, so I came in with mine and brought a small lunch from Oori down the street to make a morning out of it. I've done this before without issue, but this time, a woman with crazy eyes who seemed to have a higher role came out and very abruptly scolded me, saying, "You CAN'T eat outside food here," while aggressively pointing toward the door as if I needed to leave immediately. I completely understand having a no-outside-food policy, and I would have had no problem following it if it had been communicated respectfully. But the way she approached me felt unnecessarily harsh and honestly pretty upsetting. I apologized right away, packed everything up in a panic, and left. After processing it, I realized how inappropriate the interaction felt for something that could have been addressed with a simple, polite reminder. Overall, Asha has great matcha, a cute space, and friendly baristas, but that experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. Just a heads up: the drinks are good, but you may want to be careful about bringing outside food in, because the policy might be enforced in a pretty unpleasant way.

I assumed you have to order with them to get the magnet, BUT NO ONE WAS WELCOMING ENOUGH TO TAKE UR ORDER AND NO ONE IS THERE TO ASK OR HELP OUT. So I ordered 2 drinks at the kiosk instead bc you need to order 2 drinks to get the magnet. I was hoping they'd give the magnet since I did order the 2 drinks, so we ask.
